Thoughtful Proverb for the Day

* You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich.

* You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong.

* You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift.

* You cannot lift the wage earner up, by pulling the wage payer down.

* You cannot further the brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred.

* You cannot build character and courage, by taking away men's initiative

and independence.

* You cannot help men permanently, by doing for them what they could and

should, do for themselves .

It was NOT Abraham Lincoln-- but a preacher. in the 1800's

Very, very wise words, written years ago and we still don't get it.....

Why do MOST People think the Government owes them a living.

With your permission could I please use this in my post?

Hope you're doing well. I've had some difficult days lately as I've been told I need a knee replacement. The computer is downstairs and I only come down here every other day or so. Please don't think I've forgotten about you, because I haven't!!

I hope Ben is being a good boy and responding to your emails in a timely manner. I have to remind him to check his email because you send him things. He doesn't usually use that, he uses his facebook to talk to his friends. Let me know if he's being a pain in the bottom!

Great great entry Tom, as usual.
