Here is one issue that will anger at least half of our US population.

Old Soldier Tom's Journal.
http://heli-gunnertom.blogspot.com/

The 'other half' of our nation doesn't give a damn if we abort [KILL/ MURDER] our unborn !! And I don't CARE that wicked laws are pasted to make it seem OK and "legal." We as a Nation [collaterally] shall be 'judged' by God in a harsh way because we were not brave enough to STAND UP and over ride the wicked Far Left Liberals calls for 'legal' murder! The silence of the so-called 'Christian Right' is deafening.... Shame.
Have a great day.

Barack Obama's Blagojevich Scandal Shows Abortion Reduction Promises False
by Steven Ertelt
Millions of Americans who may otherwise have voted for his opponent supported Barack Obama because he promised change. Obama was supposed to be the hope of something new and different -- a way to transcend the bitter and divisive partisan politics that swallowed the two previous presidential elections.
With the scandal involving Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, we already know the more things change the more they stay the same. Obama has not been officially inaugurated as our next president yet a scandal of epic proportions involves one of his close political allies, his own credibility and that of his main circle of confidants. For those of us in the pro-life community, it confirms everything we already knew about the man who made one his first acts as a presidential candidate a promise to the nation's largest abortion business to be their lap dog. Some change. If, after this scandal and the pro-abortion appointments he's made, you still think Obama will try to reduce abortions, I have a Senate seat to sell you. Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Abortion Illinois Gov. Blagojevich Caught Trying to Sell Obama's Senate Seat
Springfield, IL (LifeNews.com) --
Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is one of the most ardent abortion proponents to occupy a gubernatorial position and, on Tuesday, a scandal of national proportions broke out involving him. Blagojevich stands accused of trying to sell the Senate seat incoming pro-abortion president Barack Obama vacated. With Obama becoming president, his Chicago-area political buddy has the opportunity to appoint a replacement to serve out the remainder of his Senate term. FBI agents arrested Blagojevich after federal wiretaps showed him talking with staff members about selling the seat.
Blagojevich apparently tried to exchange the Senate seat for financial favors for himself and his wife by getting a well-paying job from the appointee or a position on the board of directors of a company with which the Obama replacement may have ties. Whom Blagojevich appoints for the Senate seat could have an impact on national abortion policy by virtue of their vote on issues like the FOCA bill and taxpayer funding of abortions here and abroad. Johns Hopkins Researcher Responds to Criticism on Abortion-Mental Health Study
Balitmore, MD (LifeNews.com) -- The lead author of a study last week denying that abortion increases the risk of subsequent mental health problems for women is responding to criticism of his research. Johns Hopkins University professor Robert Blum specifically responded to LifeNews.com articles taking the study to task. Blum's team at JHU examined numerous studies and drew the conclusion that abortion doesn't increase the risk for mental health problems. LifeNews.com interviewed Bowling Green State University professor Priscilla Coleman, whose own research shows women having abortions are more likely to suffer from depression or abuse drug or alcohol. Another critique of the JHU study came from Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, who noted that Blum is a former president and board member of the Alan Guttmacher Institute and that his team has previously received funds from Planned Parenthood of Maryland. Blum called LifeNews.com news articles "inaccurate" and labeled them "personal attacks." Full story at LifeNews.com

Parents Sue, Say Georgia Clinic Did Secret Abortion on Daughter Without Consent
Atlanta, GA (LifeNews.com) -- Victor and Genevieve Patterson may have been able to help their daughter find an alternative to abortion, but they say the Northside Women's Clinic never gave them the chance. They sued the abortion business saying it broke Georgia law by doing an abortion on their daughter without their knowledge or consent. According to Georgia statutes, abortion practitioners are required to notify an underage girl's parents of her desire for an abortion and obtain consent beforehand. Notice must be given and consent obtained 24 hours before an abortion unless there is a medical emergency involved or a judicial waiver is obtained. The complaint, filed in the Fulton County Superior Court, says their daughter Renee Wymer discovered her then-boyfriend got her pregnant in April 2007. The couple kept the pregnancy a secret and discussed moving to Maryland and getting married or putting the baby up for adoption. When the boyfriend's mother found out about the pregnancy, she urged Renee to get an abortion and told her son to search the Internet for an abortion center. The Pattersons say the Northside Women's Clinic put false information on its web site that misleads teenagers about the law. Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Life Advocate: Indiana City Should De-Fund Planned Parenthood After Expose'
Bloomington, IN (LifeNews.com) -- Following the release of a video showing an Indiana Planned Parenthood staff member covering up an apparent case of statutory rape, pro-life advocates say city officials should quit funding the abortion business. The city of Bloomington has subsidized Planned Parenthood for almost a decade. The video featured a college student who told a Planned Parenthood staff member named "Dianna" that she was 14 and had sex with a man more than twice her age. The official said she didn't want to know more about the case even though she is required by state law to report the sexual abuse. Local pro-life advocate Scott Tibbs has documented the public funding of Planned Parenthood by the City of Bloomington going back to 1999. From $5,000 on a medical exam table in 1999 to $3,600 for computers in 2003 to $2,440 for cabinets in 2006, Bloomington officials have sent $28,152 to Planned Parenthood since 1999, according to Tibbs' figures. He tells LifeNews.com that, in the wake of the scandal, Planned Parenthood's yearly taxpayer funding should be ended. Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Life Doctor Upset March of Dimes Ignores Abortion-Premature Birth Link
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Last month, the March of Dimes released a report chiding the U.S. for failing to improve premature birth numbers and giving the country a "D" for its performance. The group ignores the link between premature birth and abortion and pro-life physician is upset about it. As LifeNews.com reported last month, the March of Dimes released its first-ever Premature Birth Report Card tallying the progress states have made in reducing premature birth figures. Eighteen states, along with Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, all received failing grades and no state earned a top score in the report. However, the March of Dimes, in its full-length report, never mentions abortion despite the fact that it increases the risk of premature births in subsequent pregnancies and is an easily avoidable factor. Joseph De Cook, M.D., vice president of the American Association of Pro Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG), talked about the report with The Bulletin newspaper. "More than 50 studies have demonstrated a statistically significant increase in premature birth or low birth weight risk in women with prior induced abortions," he said. Full story at LifeNews.com

British TV Will Show Man's Death at Swiss Euthanasia Clinic, Family Not Charged
London, England (LifeNews.com) -- A national controversy in Britain has been sparked by news that a British television show will reveal footage of 59-year-old Craig Ewert taking his life at a euthanasia clinic in Switzerland. Meanwhile, Ewert's family will escape any charges in connection with his death despite the UK's law against assisted suicide. Ewert had motor neurone disease, known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's syndrome in the United States. The footage shows him putting his ventilator on a timer, taking a lethal cocktail and dying minutes later. Ewert's suicide at the Dignitas clinic was filmed for a documentary called Right To Die - The Suicide Tourist that will be shown on the Sky Real Lives channel Wednesday night. In the video Ewert says, "I am tired of the disease but I am not tired of living. I still enjoy life enough that I would like to continue but the thing is that I really cannot." This will be the first occasion on which a suicide has been shown on British television. Full story at LifeNews.com

Republican Party Chair Candidate Saul Anuzis Talks Abortion, Pro-Life Values
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) --
Saul Anuzis is well-known in Michigan as the head of the Republican Party there but is hoping to raise his profile enough nationally to secure the spot as the head of the national GOP. In a new interview, Anuzis says he supports a human life amendment and wants to see Roe v. Wade overturned. In an interview with CNS News, Anuzis was asked whether he supported the current Republican Party platform that calls for a human life amendment to the Constitution offering legal protection for unborn children. The platform also calls for no taxpayer funding of abortions and judges who will not rule from the bench that there is an unlimited right to abortion. Anuzis said, "yes," that he agreed with that and "I've supported that since I was a candidate for state representative in the 1980s."
Anuzis indicated he supported overturning Roe v. Wade as "a step toward" installing a human life amendment in the Constitution. Full story at LifeNews.com

International Pro-Life Group Submits Petition Signatures to UN Against Abortion
New York, NY (LifeNews.com) --
International pro-life groups will submit a petition tomorrow with 340,000 signatures from pro-life people around the world telling the United Nations not to promote abortion. The petition marks the 60th Anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the UN General Assembly. United Families International, along with other pro-life groups that work on a global level, says the petition is meant to urge UN officials to acknowledge the pro-life themes in the UDHR. UFI says the UN should interpret the UDHR to guarantee that "the right to life, liberty and security is for every person; that each child born or unborn, has the right to birth and a full, natural life." The petition is a response to opposition petition efforts by pro-abortion groups International Planned Parenthood Federation and Marie Stopes International, a British-based abortion business that operates worldwide. Missouri Pro-Life Group's Ballot Proposal Stops Tax Funded Abortion, Cloning
Jefferson City, MO (LifeNews.com) --
A Missouri pro-life group is spearheading an effort to get a ballot proposal before voters when they head to the polls in the 2010 Congressional elections. Missouri Roundtable for Life wants an amendment to make sure taxpayer funds aren't used for abortion, human cloning or embryonic stem cell research. The state legislature has already approved limits on using public funds for those activities. But pro-life advocates are worried that the Amendment 2 measure voters approved in 2006 to allow embryonic stem cell research and human cloning may have spoiled the laws. Ed Martin, the president of the group, said,
“We really think that a vast majority of Missourians don't want tax dollars going to this type of research." Full story at LifeNews.com

Abortion is way too palatable by the Church. This is another example of the world's standards coming into the Church rather than the Church's standards going into the world. This type of complacency is bringing judgement on America. I agree with you - some change.
