The gentleman above is a Christian missionary who has helped and lead many people to Jesus Christ in his life. He is also a combat Veteran, U.S. Navy, Riverine Patrol [River Rats-- nickname- as we called them] "Brown Water Navy" and that was dangerous, IMHO. I talked to his daughter, Kim, today before church and she told me that her dad, Mr. Hoffman, is about ready to under go triple by-pass heart surgery in a few days at the Milwaukee VA Hospital. I don't want to do ANYTHING that would further stress him or cause him worry or concern at this time... but I heard that the 'doctors' / surgeons at the VA are 'pushing him' to accept some sort of new untested treatment/ medicine or procedure that has not been tried before. I KNOW how they can put you in the 'pressure cooker' and lean on you as if it's in "your best interest" to do what THEY say/ "suggest..." Personally, I don't ever want to be one of their Guinea pigs. See my past posts.

Because I don't now any more than that I will stop short of asking any favors... except that Rick and Kim Brown ask that everyone pray for the right things to happen so that he may recover to serve the Lord again and bless everyone he touches in the Christian Ministry and missionary work. One challenge is: being a missionary, he doesn't have any insurance except this VA medical stuff, and I don't believe that he can afford to go to a 'civilian' hospital [or else he would] where the real Pro's practice state of the art medicine. We have some very fine hospitals in Milwaukee, but....... sometimes the real 'working man' and man of God fall short of the good stuff available. Think: if he was on welfare or illegal, he would probably go to Milwaukee County General Hosp. where the best doctors are...Ha! Isn't that just plain goofy??!

I am sure his family wouldn't mind if friends/ believers send a get well card with some 'green stuff' inside to help him and his family get along. That is what I am going to do.

Please pray for Jim Hoffman and his family in this time of dire need and concern.

Thank you!

Yes indeed, prayers for Jim and the family. My stepDad has been through this twice. It's not an easy recovery, he'll need to follow Dr's orders to the tee!
