Blogger RIVER Organization Christian Church said...

Debbie makes an interesting point about church congregations.

The whole idea of belonging to a church is having the support of others and supporting others; supporting one another through fellowship and having the closeness of our Christian brothers and sisters called brotherhood and sisterhood.

A church congregation should be the "flock" and Jesus Christ its Shepherd.

The opposite is being alone.

God does not want us to be alone. He wants us to be together to love one another and help one another in time of need and time of joy.

He wants us to feel the suffering of our brothers and sisters and feel their pain. He wants us to help them ease their pain and suffering.

He wants us to share what we have with them, and some of that sharing is ourselves, our love and our compassion.

Sometimes it only needs to be a visit, to bring great joy to others, just to say, "Hi, I am here. I am here with a shoulder for you to cry on, to lean on, or just to talk to, to vent, or to hug. I care. I am concerned. I will share your pain and ease your burden and warm your heart."

Just a simple visit...

Keeping company with our brothers and sisters keeps us from back peddling and stepping away, and too we should help others stay focused on our Lord.

Debbie was correct to leave the church and so where you, Tom, and find one that follows the commandments of Jesus Christ.

Many churches lose members because they do not do what God wants them to do. They often collect money but do very little for humanity--even their own members. They shun or reject the very people
they should be accepting and helping, etc.

The more people read the Bible for themselves, the better they will understand what Jesus expects of us, and the better they will know when a priest, pastor or church or another member is not following God's Plan. They will know when to leave a church in search of another.

It is not enough to witness and help save others. We need to "adopt" them and nourish them with God's food and help them establish DEEP ROOTS in good ground--otherwise they will be confused and slide away and be fodder for Satan. (ST. Mark 4:1-34)

We need to treat newly saved Children of God like little lambs and raise them up until they are full grown sheep belonging fully to the Shepherds flock at the point where they can make it on their own and raise their own little lambs.

Sometimes we need to look elsewhere for our right church. Find the one church that fits. The Holy Spirit will guide us to that path. You only need one church and that church will fulfill the obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit will tell us when it is time to leave one church and go seek another. Let Him be your Shepherd and follow His guidance.

Blend with other true Christian brothers and sisters and shake off the dust from your shoes as you walk from those who are not True Christians.

I am happy for Debbie finding her happiness. I continue to pray you and Sharon will soon be joined in happiness and no longer in worry, fear or pain.

Best wishes, Gunner.

In Christ

Yaaaaa! That's the Tom I know and love;) I will cheer you on! I know you and Sharon have had some serious ups and downs- but you know as well as I- there IS a reason- we may not know it in our lifetime- but the Lord knows. I always thought about all the shit w/ that dumb ass David??? Like what the heck did I ever do to get such a loser like him? But- alas- I allowed it and only the good Lord knows why. But now I am w/ such a good man that I truly love and respect and Bill feels the same way. Bill appreciates the woman that I am and celebrates it. I feel the same about Bill; David wasn't even in the ballgame. I thank God many many times over for all that HE has given me- AND for all HE has taken away. Yes- I know you gave a lot of your $$ and time and loyalty to VB. It is such a shame but I think it happens a lot Tom. You know yourself there is a "core" of people in the church that give the most, help out the most, witness the most, etc. Then something major happens in your life and you think these very people who you feel are your church family don't give 2 hoots for what is happening to one of their own- YOU. Sad to tell you- the same thing happened to me at Union Grove, WI. Methodist when Ben died. Here I was- all alone . Ben and I gave and gave worked and worked an did whatever we could to help out that church and when I needed them only that ONE time- where were they? Not one of them after the funeral ever even called me. It was as if they just didn't care. I stopped going to that church- it was too difficult to look at them and know that Ben and I had given so much and no one could give me just a little support. It was my friends that helped- not my church people. That's why I say- it's you and God. Remember- Jesus trusted all of His Apostles, too. No one helped Him either. It is terrible about your family though just terrible. Man I bet Sharon looks bad- I remember how Ben looked- it was scary to see him so helpless, pale and weak- so again- I know where you are coming from. So just keep laying back and use your strength to visit Sharon and your friend. Keep your chin up! It's a long road ahead and you have to make the journey w/ as little scathing to yourself as possible. Go to sleep, rest and sweet dreams of better times to come- maybe here on Earth- but for sure in Heaven! I'm outta here and hitting the pillow;)

What do you think Jesus in Heaven is thinking about this going on ??

Condom distribution at church - UCC likes the idea
Allie Martin - OneNewsNow - 3/31/2009 7:00:00 AMBookmark and Share

CondomThe Institute on Religion & Democracy is blasting the religious denomination of President Barack Obama for its recent stance on condom distribution inside houses of worship.

Recently, the HIV and AIDS Network of the United Church of Christ (UCC) said condoms should be handed out at places of worship. The statement was issued during a presentation to the denomination's Wider Church Ministries Board and also advocated making condoms available at faith-based educational settings.

A UCC executive said that condom distribution is a matter of life and death and that condoms should be made available to save the lives of young people.

Calling it the denomination's "moral responsibility" to make condoms available, the UCC's executive for health and wellness advocacy said "people of faith make condoms available because we have chosen life so that we and our children may live."

Alan Wisdom, with the Institute on Religion & Democracy, believes the UCC's statement is dangerous. "It sends a message to youth particularly, the kids who meet in their Alan Wisdom (IRD)Sunday schools, that the church really has no expectation of them in terms of sexuality, that it expects them to enter into multiple sexual relationships in the same way the world does, and that its only concern is they not pick up diseases," he notes.

The UCC's condom distribution is the latest step in the denomination's departure from its Puritan roots, Wisdom concludes.

Is it 'morally responsible' to distribute condoms?

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

Sorry Folks... but I feel that I have used up all of my 'static strength' and power, and my body is too completely worn out/ pained, with everything killing me. Even the 'farmer's big, strong ox will get sick and die some day....' and ever good swimmer knows when he has to turn back or knows his limit of endurance. It's just a collection of multiple 'hits' from every corner of stress, devil filled machination and hassle today, including running out of VA meds [but that's normal and monthly..Ha!], my wife's life and death surgery, running all over the State of Wisconsin for the past week, etc. I don't even have the physical strength to walk across the street to pick up a parcel for me from the post office now!

I am starting to get panic and anxiety attacks when I visit my wife, although they took down the breathing device today, but they are giving the poor lady more pain meds and heavier sedatives to keep her out in La-La-Land, for her own good. I told her today that I felt so darn helpless to do anything for her and totally useless!! I felt myself crying a few times and slapped my own face to keep myself straight and in control, but I felt forsaken for a while with me running the battle all alone [except I know that God is with me for sure]. Aside from my new found friend and brother, associate pastor Wayne, from Racine Bible Church, calling and emailing me with support--- there IS NO OTHER one, besides my true blue Blog/ Journal followers/ friends and readers from far, far away. Yes, frankly, I feel very let down from all the supposed "friends of Job" who have the time but .... even my own family who lives 12 miles away in Burlington seemed to be hamstrung and can't find a pen and paper or the phone to call to see if Sharon is still alive! I called them all up cutting them off at the knees, but NOT giving them anynews about my wife [See: Matt. 7:6]. But I should have guessed as much from unbelieving heathens who make fun of the Bible and Jesus Christ. I promised myself that I will NOT have anymore to do with them. What a bunch of heartless pigs-- and all the times I invited them over to my house for dinner, parties and cook outs, and sent them all cards for multiple occasions. Brother Wayne kind of 'readjusted my mind' on that subject today as he made a date for breakfast with me on Thursday morn.
He told me that MY eyes were once blinded by Satan too --but God Saved me at the appointed time. But I thought to myself, 'well, let someone else preach to them for another 40 years... because that's how many times/ years I tapped on their heads.. lol'. I don't feel that there is any blood guilt on my head-- did my honest best/ job.

I drove the the Milwaukee VA Hospital at 0900 today to get my shots, and NP Mike Ryan always does a great job at inserting the long needles into my knees, and his assistant Karla squirts the topical numbing liquid at the same time. While I was there I tried to get/ pick up my 2 pain meds just 3 days early but the Pharmacy gods quickly said NO! With my bad knees and back, I ran out a few days early, but they wouldn't care if I started throwing up blood in their faces and croaked--- they enforce the 'RULE OF THE LAW' to the letter, no matter what. And my PCP Doctor was jammed full of patients all day long, of course. I saw Marvin Ellis again, but his room was about 99 degrees, where Sharon's room is nice and cool, but I was sweating and stinking from running around non-stop ever since March 24th when Sharon got her Cardio Cath up the leg to the heart to 'take pictures.' But |I can't stand myself unless I shower daily. If I had any brains I would just go to bed right now!

Like I have always said-- 'when it rains-- it pours.'

When I was in Sharon's room today, there was a new Male RN taking over for a day or two so the other gal could take care of some business [and I can understand the need for that] as the CCU staff work over 7 days a week with their single patient and grow very familiar with them and their important life saving job of which I have great respec. And he complained when I asked him for some info, etc. He had a young lady trainee who was also still in school getting her RN degree, OJT, with her learning the ropes and she was nice. But I heard him sound off and act a little wimpy, which prompted me to tell them both a little story. I told them that every time I went there to visit or do something at the hospital, some hospital staff could be over heard complaining, like: 'Oh, I am so tired and I can't wait to get off my shift and GO HOME!' And I thought what kind of wimps do they have now days always wining and wimping out?? When I was age 19- 21 I was in Vietnam flying in helicopters 7 days a week with NO LET UP for a whole year-- 2nd tour of duty, especially!! Sometimes I had to pull guard duty all night long and then fly again the very next day. It's no wonder amny of us started turning grey at age 21, for lack of sleep as we ageed over night! Even working at AMC/ Chrysler--half the time I also had a part time job to earn more bread $$$ to support my wife and 3 kids! I didn't birch and complain constantly. I told the staff today in Sharon's room [CCU], 'it's no wonder why our country is going down the tube..LOL! Bunch of sick sisters and jelly fish! Ha! I guess they took it as a joke-- not a slam, as I don't didn't really want to 'trip their triggers'... lol.

Well, I promise that I will feel much better tomorrow after I have had a long, deep sleep, and I won't be so grouchy. I wish I would have listened to my wife's pleas to find another church like RBC sooner-- and then I would have a good support group now when I really need it. Better late than never. I just worry that my wife lives to enjoy some of the great kind friendships and comradier at RBC as she looks so pale and deathly today, unabled to acknowledge my speech and touch. When ever I go there [every day] I try to plant more seeds of hope and encouragement to sustain her. The Staff told me that her BP [blood pressure] was too low yesterday, so they were adjusting/ tweaking some meds. When ever I see them squirting something into her tubes, I ask them what it is and keep a mental note of it. I now well that she would do the same for me. She loves me. I have durable power of attorney over her and visa versa and we have written orders what and what not to do in a crisis situation-- military thinking...

God Bless all believers and those who suffer for Christ's name. And, HEY! -- don't allow the Lord's Resurrection Day turn into some goofy reason to party down and teach the kids more lies about the "Easter Bunny" eggs and candy, please. Jesus is the Reason... and the ONLY foundation for our Salvation as He shed His Blood the hard way.

10 colonoscopy patients have hepatitis, VA says
Equipment used on thousands at 3 facilities wasn't properly sterilized
The Veterans Affairs department says 10 people have tested positive for infectious liver disease since they were exposed to contaminated colonoscopy equipment. The 10 are among thousands of patients who have been warned to get blood tests since being treated at VA facilities in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Miami and Augusta, Ga. All three sites failed to properly sterilize equipment between treatments.

So..... what's new? ...Ha! Hey-- I don't have to exaggerate-- the VA hangs themselves, and quite frequently. What's new?

Sunday's Report on Sharon L. Schuckman.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

Daily Report on Sharon's Progress.

I tried to concentrate on Bible Study at Racine Bible church and then the main Sermon in front shortly after, and I even wrote down some notes the head Pastor's talk that I could use-- and shared them with Sharon latter. I used a quarter tank of truck gas today but that's OK. I stopped at Popeye's chicken on the way home and share some chicken with my hound dog, Deuce. Now I have the 'new' church all praying for my wife's speedy recovery-- but speedy it won't be from all the shock and awe, damage, age of patient and trauma. They had her on a heavier dose of sedative today, possibly because they want her to stay completely still so she won't pull off/ out some of the dozens of lines, hoses, breathing tubes and contacts attached to her, and I believe that they also have one "port" open in her neck-- to recieve meds quickly. I wish I could take one picture but they watch her and me like a hawk... and it is really illegal... so they say. This is all so incredible to me, and as my Dad used to say, 'in the old days people just died!' I was very cordial to the RN this time, and she gave us some privacy for 15 minutes. Sharon acknowledges me with her slight up and down shakes of her head, but she looked so tired, weak and sleepy today, and 'out of it.' I told her about all the good times we will have this Spring and Summer in the back yard with me grilling the steaks on the grill and I will do ALL the gardening this year. I noticed her chest and stomach breathing up and down harder as she got excited at some things I told her about, and as I was stroking her arm and hand, with my usual joking and bravado [baloney]. I am an entertainer at heart and I love to make people laugh as I clown around. And with all my years of adventure and wild times-- I don't have to exaggerate much! Then out of thin air, again, the head surgeon, Dr. Ganesh S. Kumpati appeared and made His way[floated] over to me as I was about to leave, and as he moved into Sharon's cell, all of a sudden there was a rustling in the air like wind as if the Holy Spirit visited Sharon's room [with the color TV on without sound] and 3 nurses rushed in there with and after him in a heart beat fawning over Him. I sensed something was amiss and became slightly anxious grabbing a few staff near by to tell me what was wrong. They told me that when the DOCTOR came in they were on like a RED ALERT status so as NOT to waste the doctor's precious time. Ahhhh, OK!
The good doctor had time to speak to me a few minutes, and I think I heard him say, "God Bless You," as we both turned around to leave. I mounted my Golden Avenger chariot and went away, up to see Marv on the 7th floor.

Well, I was still dressed up from church services with a Patriotic 'flag' tie and my leather jacket had Army aviation wings and a silver [Chrisitan] cross on the left lapel. Oh well, it's good to show respect and kindness to everyone, IMHO... and that used to be a hard pill for me to swallow, and even my Dad taught me the opposite. Dad said, "you don't ever let your enemy give up again" -- Army too. But my new heart has gone 'Chrisitan' finally-- not worldy, savage, fleshly anymore, PTL.
It just so happened that one of the 3 associate pastors at the new church that we just started a few weeks ago, RBC --Racine Bible Church--, took me under his wing and "claimed" me as one of his personal guard/ soldiers, [partly joking...], and his fine wife, Carol, just had thyroid surgery, and is still weak sat next to me for the main sermon latter, and I could tell that Wayne and Carol are deeply in love, and they had just gone thru what I am now with my wife. At the prior Bible study that he conducts, with plenty of hot coffee and bakery/ pastries, sugar fix, and I brought some bananas and oranges today too, he had us studying the whole chapter of Proverbs 25, which contained verse 21. "If your ENEMY is hungry, give him food to eat; And if her is thirsty, give him water to drink [not booze..lol]; 22. For you will heap burning coals on his head, And the Lord will reward you." ~ NASB. Pastor Wayne, but he told ME to just call him Wayne, tried to include ever member of our small 11 person group each Sunday, although I guess anyone can walk in. I chose these two scriptures because I research them a 100 years ago. I said, "I could be wrong, but I think this is also recorded in the book of Matthew also, [and Wayne said, 'you're right'], and it would seem like this advice/ counsel sounded strange as if it suggested bringing pain on our enemy, burning his head with hot fiery coal from the Weber grill! But looking up some key words and thoughts in the original languages, Hebrew and Greek [please see and get the web site/ geat tool: "e-sword", for free, on the Web!] and we find out that putting hot coals on top of iron and gold/ silver ore in ancient times would DRAW the precious metal away from the dross [useless bi-product]. So too can we use KINDNESS to draw the good out of mean, angry people. I am living proof of that--lol, and I have seen that tactic done many times. Hey! ... that angry person may be in acute, horrible physical or mental/ emotional pain and anguish and really wants someone to care and help him!! That person is precious in God's sight--Christ DIED for him/her too, and it may be YOU or me who helps bring him to Christ and everlasting life in heaven. Otherwise, if WE wimp out-- he may be lost and damned forever, and that is what the Bible calls Blood Guilt-- [see Ezekiel]. I brought these points out too. Anyway, Wayne's good wife took one of my bananas [that was in my front basket of my power scooter-- which is the rave at that church now...lol. After that, Wayne suggested that they rip out two seats in the very front row to accommodate my 'Air Mobile' scooter in the front row where they normally sit. I thought, how special, kind and considerate of them to welcome a new guy/ stranger! You would not see something like that at my 'old church....' --sorry. What a breath of fresh air-- and it seems like there is ALWAYS someone around to help me open doors or tie my shoes, etc at RBC. I am happy-- and will be very happy when I can worhips together with my wife again.

The doctors and staff think they might remove Sharon's breathing machine hook up tomorrow, but they must 'play it by ear.' And I think that with Sharon's age, 60, just a few months older than me, she will heal in spurts, but with me visiting her every day with support, she will heal faster. I want to watch out for getting her too excited and take things slowly with her. I saw and visited with my close buddy and Christian brother, Marvin Ellis after Sharon and gave him a banana too. His room was much warmer than Sharon's so I pulled off my jacket. It wasn't 15 minutes and the nurses by him started walking in to do a bunch of tests on him and/ or his room mate, so I said good bye.

Have a good day--- and count your blessings.

Thank you for your many kindnesses and prayers.

Tom's Journal.

I was so impressed, joyful and happy with all the great, warm, kind comments and well wishes from my friends and readers concerning Sharon's successful open heart surgery and recovery. I miss her dearly, and I sure have a lot of time to think about how blessed and favored I am to own a small country house, garden, a few toys and money in the bank, plus my super tank Dodge Ram 4 by 4 pickup truck that has enough head room for my large body... LOL. I suppose that many think I should be with her right now at the hospital in CCU, but she is still dormant, in a deep, drug induced long sleep as they assist her in their studied, experiences battle plan to help and encourage her damaged heart to start repairing and strengthening her heart pumping muscle. There IS a method to their madness-- and it will require a lot of patience on MY part. I believe the surgeons and cardiac staff know much, much more than I do, and I know how to be humble and keep my mouth shut at this time. If I dwell too much on this subject, I will start crying, big old nasty Soldier that I am. We combat Vets have soft, sensitive heart too-- but we guard them so we don't get caught off guard. We have built a 'barrier' of protection so we could remain to appear "normal" and sane to be a productive member of society-- even though "our Society has drifted away from the true saying and counsel of God and His Word these days-- and our beloved America going down the tube in a hurry. We are damned tired of fighting and wish the rest of the younger people would grow up and assume the role of mature, capable Christian warriors! It's frustrating us Vets to watch everything we worked and fought for disintegrate before our very eyes, losing one Freedom after another with the monkey in the White House. On the other hand, we just may be fighting against GOD'S WILL! We learned, well studied ones know for a fact that the Lord has a defin ate battle plan set in motion. So, for us to miss the true meaning or 'miss the boat' would be pure foolishness, IMHO. God has plainly foretold that He will allow the world to destory itself [in many ways] before Jesus returns to earth to claim His faithful servants/ believers. If you don't see it happening-- I truly pity you. I don't want to re-hash all that right now. My thoughts are else where, and I hear that there may be foul, snowy weather in the fore cast. Time to put my socks and shoes on WITH OUT my dear wife's assistance. Yes, I am getting that disabled!

I just don't have an appetite lately and don't care to eat much. The only way I can explain it is when I was a teenager in love in high school with some lovely girl... and Mom readily noticed that something was wrong with a tall, growing teen age son named Tom. When Tom doesn't want to eat-- something is radically WRONG... LOL! Well, I sure need to lose the weight anyway and maybe I can surprise my wife when she gets out. gets back from the hospital in a few weeks. That would be a scream.

I want to mention that one of my dear Vietnam combat buddies, fellow Christian, ex-Marine and even worked with me on the same assembly line at AMC/ Chrysler in Kenosha-- is in the same hospital as my wife!! Poor old Marvin Ellis is on the 7th floor of Kenosha Memorial Hosp with a serious lung infection and he also has a chronic lung ailment, emphysema-- but his wife is a chain smoker, unfortunately. I get along so well with Marv AND his wife, but it boils down to nice people-- bad habit, IMHO. Please keep my brother, Marvin Ellis, the Patriot, in your prayers. Thank you.
I got a $60 parking ticket because I left my Ram parked on the street in from of my house-- EVEN WITH A "DISABLED TAG" on the vehicle!! I fully intend to take the goofy, arrogant Key Stone cops to task on this matter soon. Sharon is an expert on ADA -- the American Disabilities Act and know how to burn myopic cops and belligerent businesses or public places who discriminate against the disabled people. Now I have to bone up on the ADA laws, as if I didn't have enough on my plate already.

PS. I got up the will power to fill gas and then decided to go to the store and then visit my wife, and Marvin Ellis at the hospital. I was so surprised to see Sharon move her eyes open a bit and recognize me today!! She could only open her eyes a little bit but when I touched her hand and asked her if she could hear and feel me, she nodded her head YES! I have always believed that a baby even in the womb can hear and feel, and some women play special music and read the Bible as they carry the infant inside of them. I also believe [but can't prove it with eloquent 'tech-speak' that many people who are comatose or whacked out/ unconscious can still hear things going on around her. Well, the RN only had Sharon as her patient as a full time job who needed around the clock care and monitoring... and there were so many gadgets, lines, dials, meters, hoses and monitors around my wife, but she was definitely conscious-- but very weary and tired, and the nurse gave me a run down/ report on her status, but had trouble putting it into words... and she seemed a little "spacey"-- like a space cadet, as if she was drugged on anti-depressants-- just my opinion.
Seems like my wife's heart is healing more quickly than anticipated, but early this morning the heart made a few rapid flutters [ 'pre-beats'] and had to be put back on track [somehow]. The good looking nurse, Laurie, was certainly an expert IN HER FIELD, but a 'one horse pony show' and a specialist in one field only. Don't get angry, but I told her that I certainly had a right to ask her questions, without getting in her way... but in fact she was fluttering around me checking things and writing them down in her ledger all the time I was there, and I felt uncomfortable wanting to talk about my love for Sharon with encouragement in private, and also pray with my wife in private too. The nurse wanted to turn Sharon over-- but gave me ten whole minutes to say good bye. Very magnanimus of her, huh?? In between my visiting time I had light conversation with the RN probing her mind to see how alert she was for a 48-something lady from Kenosha-- and she seems just a bit "slow" and preoccupied, and didn't know what the word,'prognosticate ' mean, and she took NO Latin in school which made me wonder because years ago that was a required course for medical people... I think I left the RN with a good taste in her mouth and thanked her for her kind, professional care of my dear wife, my precious commodity.

Please remember that I am a "guard dog" and programed to love and protect my family, and so I feel that I have to 'micro manage' my wife's care and keeping. Maybe it's a "man-thing" but for all the bucks $$$ my Insurance is shelling out I demand better care than what the Gov't pays for welfare folks who never worked a day in their lives... Sorry. And then you really have to wonder with all the medical "accidents" like cutting of the wrong part of anatomy instead of the correct one, and all the lies and cover ups. I explained that my wife covers me when I go to the doctor/ hospital-- and I do the same for her. Sharon is in training to be 'Wonder Woman' and even enjoys shooting her own .22 pistol with me for fun and sport, past time. CHAMPVA is paying for most of my wife's care and expenses and I doubt if there is any co-pay for me. Fellow Veterans, especially with service-connected disabilities-- for the sake of your wife and family PLEASE look into to CHAMPVA NOW! The worst thing they can say is 'no.' The VA honestly tries to keep this secret as they don't want to dole out one penny more for any Vet! Illegal aliens and terrorists from GITMO--- well they are OK and will get all they need to live.

I asked my wife if it would be OK to touch and stroke her arm and hand and she made a special effort to nod her head. She must be so lonely, bored with no one to visit her in CCU except family, and I was so glad that I went to give her an orange when she is able to start eating. I gave her my solemn promise that I would bring her fav. food in when she is able to eat real food. I will also rub some skin cream on her feet, arms and hands and baby her.

I visited my close buddy from church, Marvin Ellis and gave him an orange too, and his room mate was an Army Airborne gentleman who served with 82nd Airborne Div, so he got an earful too. Marv is get out of there on Tuesday, and then we can visit more often, practice guitar together and BS as Vets do... lol .
I intend to be with my wife every day now to make her feel wanted and loved. Next time, FLOWERS! And maybe a radio to listen to a good Christian station for encouragement and spiritual food. I might read to her too, just plain sit with her for company. The Bible tells me that is what a spouse is supposed to do! I have to write a 'to-do list' as old farts do.
Bye for now.

Warm Regards,
Tom

Sharon's Heart Surgery was a SUCCESS.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

I had a very long hard day starting when my wife at the hospital phoned me at 0400 to wake me up. So I was at the Kenosha Memorial Hosp, down near the |Lake about 4:45 and the staff decided to move her surgery up from 7AM to 6:30 so that cut down the amount of time I could spend with my wife. Well, as I waited in the waiting room close to the O.R. they sent nurses/ runners to make progress reports ever 2 hours or so, and it took the 2 doctors, Dr. Stone, and Dr. Kumpata, 5 1/2 hours to successfully complete the surgery! I just got home a few minutes ago because there was nothing more I could do-- as Sharon was put into a drug induced deep sleep for the next 3 days, and she is hooked up to so many hoses, lines, etc., and by law the nurse forbade me to take any pictures.

From what the good doctor Kumpata told me [in the flesh] was that it was a difficult maneuver/ procedure and they knew what they were up against [from past experience], but so far they say it looks good-- a SUCCESS! Brother John Falkner, from VBC was the only one who stopped in to visit me for a few minutes-- and then he had to take his son to work. He is a dear old Christian friend of mine who helped baptize me back in 1997, and he is a kind, mature, smart Christian who does more than his share of work! Mrs. Habel called me once or twice on my cell phone while I was waiting to check in on Sharon's progress, and I will send her this report in a few minutes, and to all others.

After 5 whole hours went by, I began to fear the worst, and started to panic a bit with anxiety attacks, and I could feel my blood pressure go up--and part of this is a personal thing related to my PTSD and combat in Vietnam 40 years ago... [and I needed to take my meds at home]. Then after being there almost 11 hours, they told me she was done, but I would half to wait another 1 1/2 hours while they hooked her up with all sorts of tubes and lines. I got frustrated and told the girl who monitored the progress in the waiting room that I desperately needed to take my meds at home 22 miles away, and all I wanted to do was to see my wife to make sure she was alive, breathing properly, check on her, talk to the attending nurse who was watching her every second-- which I did in person a few minutes later, but then Dr. Kumpata appeared in ICU/ recovery, and was kind enough to give me the full report/ status of my dear wife. He looked serious and sober/ grave when talking to me but assured me twice that the operation was indeed a success. Knowing that she could not see or hear me, I then went home to shake off some of the high stress. I was praising and thanking my Lord and Savior all the way home for Sharon's recovery and spared life-- as she was so close to death these past few weeks, and in the Operating Room today.

Footnote: when I first came in to wait, I met a lady named Judy, my age, widowed, who was waiting for her own son to recover from a gall bladder Op., and I struck up a long conversation with her about the Bible, and I witnessed to her and even had her read some scriptures from the Bible I had with me [as I always try to carry in case the opportunity strikes! She liked and admired me a lot and learned tons of interesting, good things, as the Holy Spirit guided my tongue and brain--- and that made me feel very good inside! I gave her my business card so she could email me for more instruction if she cared to. It is SUCH A GREAT PRIVILEGE to be "used" by God, as a "tool" to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with other people!! I even taught her how to say the 'Sinners Prayer' to get Saved and right with Jesus. PTL! More about this latter.

I know that Sharon is not completely out of the woods yet, but a big load of fear and anxiety and chest pains melted from my weary body after the 'good news.'
As I told her early this morning, 'maybe she will be a completely different woman after she heals and that will give old Soldier Tom MUCH more love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, self control, goodness, mentioned at Galatians 5:22 !
Hey-- I did more praying these past few weeks than I have in a long time [bringing me closer to the Lord-- and my wife...], and found out just how much I cared for Sharon, love her, and miss her at home. I won't mind helping and nursing her when she finally gets home and realize that she will be unable to work at all-- and I figured out how to do the laundry and operate the washing machine...lol, etc..

More Reports as I go to see Sharon every day.

Thank you for all your comments, prayers, thoughts and well wishes...

Today's Report on Sharon, and other thoughts.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

Hi Friends and Readers,
I was very happy to see and visit with one of my sisters who flew all the way from AZ to take a mini-vacation up here in WI to see Mom and her siblings, and then help me so much too. She helped clean my house, visit my wife in the hospital, etc., and I love her dearly. She has served in the Air Force for over 20 years, been over seas, is happily married with 2 great daughters.
But she is very different in her thoughts, ideas, personality and philosophies than I am--- as I recently found out lately. Claiming like most people, Americans, to be "spiritual" means absolutely nothing to me or to God Almighty, and I bet those types of people don't honestly know what THEY mean either... but that is OK, fine with me, no problem... live and let live! It would be a weird, goofy world is EVERYONE were just like Tom ... Ha!

I, obviously understand that we are all different to a degree, with different intellects, thought patterns, passions and view points, and I am NOT trying or going to lambaste anyone for being different than me. I took several 'personality tests' to tell me what I already knew, and VA 'doctors' have tried to pigeon hole me with PTSD, etc, plus my friends-- and I am who I am [like Popeye used to say]. I have always been 'serious', studious, book reader--but also very physically active in sports, hunting, fishing, farming, power lifting, but also a writer, journalist, very passionate about certain things, having a 'game plan' and trusting in certain things or people, organizations-- until I found salvation in Christ about ten years ago, yet constantly learning new things almost every day. My Mom, whom I love dearly, but is a bitter agnostic, will say, 'whatever helps you to be happy and works for you...' I think I discovered that my sister, Susan, is pretty much the same way. I am NOT being 'NEGATIVE', judgmental, condescending or 'holier than thou' fully realizing as I told Sue yesterday at lunch, at Marina Gardens in Kenosha on the Lake, that I am a no good, rotten, sinner deserving death and eternity in HELL---- BUT, I am saved by GRACE through my belief and total submission/ acceptance of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I confess my Faith in Him daily to others and in prayer. [Now you see-- many people just can't handle that or understand!] Ain't that a mouthful... lol. For me and all my fundamental, Biblical Christian brothers and sisters all around the world, Christianity is more than a 'belief system' -- IT'S A WAY OF LIFE! Even as I stumble through life every day and sin, fall short of the mark of perfection, appearing somewhat negative at the world of violence, greed, selfishness, corruption and mockers of God and His servants-- I KNOW that my sins, past, present and future, are FORGIVEN, only because of the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. God had to whip me, beat me into a more humble man before He could 'use me' [just like the Army tears a man down to nothing to humble him/ her-- and then REBUILDS him into a trained, educated warrior/ soldier] and form me into a 'mouth piece' to further His purpose, sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and salvation-- but also the Divine Warning of the soon coming tragic storm of His anger and wrath for all unbelievers and enemies!! And I know that sounds very 'NEGATIVE' and 'mean' to many unbelievers, but that is the real TRUTH of the Bible-- not my own expansion or revelation. So... I don't invent, create, or foretell -- I merely repeat/ share what the Bible actually and accurately says, be it blessings [positive] or curse ['negative]! Same as Noah's " NEGATIVE" ministry ordained/ commissioned by God Almighty, etc.

My dear, beloved sister, always gets that look, like a dog staring into a fan on a hot day-- and my words are foreign to her, IMHO, because she just doesn't believe, or Satan has blinded her eyes-- like the greater majority of humans on earth. And that hurts me, but it's just another fact of life.

|If all my friends, readers and peers tell me that I have all the 'tools' to make a good witness, soul winner, evangelist, with a high verbal aptitude, but I still can't get through to those I love-- I have to just admit either that something isn't working, or that person is content [and full of..] with him self and their lifestyle and doesn't feel the need to know Christ the way the Bible teaches. Even Jesus could not touch/ reach the hearts of the evil men when he was preaching on earth; and had to use strong ['negative'] language to get His point across. And he gave instructions to all His followers to 'knock the dust off their clothes and MOVE ON!' In the case of our loved ones and relatives-- all we can do is to pray for them, be kind, patient, respect them and set a good example. You can't force a mule headed person to drink life's water or love God according to what the Bible says. That is the sad fact, and I am hurt to see my loved ones turn their backs on Jesus Christ. I feel I know just how much to witness/ share with them, and I am 'testing' our friendship/ relationship ever time I see them. How would we feel if we had the cure for cancer or diabetes--- and wanted to share that for free with our loved ones, but they were so ignorant and stupid so as to dump us and turn us away. God doesn't want ANY HUMAN TO GO TO HELL AND HE OPENS HIS OUT STRETCHED HAND OF SALVATION TO ALL MANKIND-- but the Bible makes it clear that FEW will become true followers of His Son, Jesus Christ-- the ONLY salvation for mortal man!!

I hope I have made myself clear on this matter. Let me just say that I don't HATE ANYONE, even though I get frustrated and "negative" sometimes. I am just passionate in my service to God, not desiring others to perish in God's soon coming wrath as we are now in the real "end times"before the Lord comes back to claim His 'Bride'-- and then return with the sword. That is one of the many things I need to work harder on. But I will NOT hold back from telling the truth as I see it. And as my Mom and sister think that the pure TRUTH of the Bible [and other things] makes me sound 'NEGATIVE', I will have to live with some folks mis-characterization of me, and disregard for the TRUTH that sets men free. Amen [so be it].

I talked to Sharon today, and she is doing well, and likes her nurses and doctors who are very compassionate and kind to her. It's going to be a BIG day for the both of us tomorrow and my anxiety level and blood pressure are up too high. If anyone wants Sharon's hospital room phone number to encourage her tonight before early surgery in the morning, just ask me via email. Needless to say, she is always very fatigued, weak from her messed up heart, but she did tell me that she got a good night's sleep after I brought her breathing device [CPAP] yesterday and in good spirits. She wants to get this business over with. I am sorely disappointed that more people with whom we associated at the old church could not- did not find the time to visit or call my wife, until I had to call them, and the buck SHOULD stop at the "top." Yet, I bear them all no ill feelings, as they must have some excuse to stay in their comfort Zones... And that is one of the reasons Sharon chose to move to a church closer to our home in the boon docks/ country side. I just felt that the more prayers for her-- the better. Thank you all for your fine, warm comments, prayers and well wishes! I tell Sharon and report all the stuff I read that is posted and commented on this Journal.

Police Trained Nationwide That Informed Americans Are Domestic Terrorists

Law enforcement across the country are being educated that informed Americans who know their rights are dangerous and that cops are their enemy

Police Trained Nationwide That Informed Americans Are Domestic Terrorists 130309top

A secret report distributed by the Missouri Information Analysis Center lists Ron Paul supporters, libertarians, people who display bumper stickers, people who own gold, or even people who fly a U.S. flag and equates them with radical race hate groups and terrorists. This is merely the latest example in an alarming trend which confirms that law enforcement across the country is being trained that American citizens are a dangerous enemy.

A copy of the MIAC report was sent to us by two Missouri police officers who were concerned by its content.

Perhaps due to the outlandish and shocking nature of the document, some people are still having difficulty believing it is real. Unfortunately, we have confirmed that it’s 100 per cent genuine. We spoke with Capt Hull at the Missouri State Highway Patrol who told us that the MIAC Strategic Report is a part “normal operation for officers” to receive these periodic reports for “safety purposes and to track trends or changes”. Hull added that the report was for the purposes of training their officers.

Anyone still in doubt as to the veracity of the document can call the MIAC toll free at 866-362-6422 and confirm it for themselves.

We also spoke to Lt. John Hotz who, along with Capt Hull, declined to appear on The Alex Jones Show to talk about the document, but had no qualms about admitting that it was genuine and had been handed out to Missouri police officers.

Finally, a plan and a time.

Tom's Journal.

The new orders and speculations change every day at the Hospital where my wife is staying and waiting for the god-like creatures that some call 'doctors.' Some doctors have my undying praise and respect, especially the guys and gals in most ER units and ICU's. But having had a relationship with an RN years ago taught me that MOST doctors have a super huge ego thing as they look down on the rest of us poor, uneducated, unwashed 'dummies'... lol. What they really are? Specialists in just one field that is NOT an exact science, and I will never bow down to them-- although I respect and admie their skill and years of hard study. For the most part, Sharon and I are happy with the service, treatment and professionalism, so far, and well they should be doing the right things for all the money they make. Hey, maybe obama will put a ceiling on THEIR pay too...Ha! Actually, I am in favor of paying a person for what they are worth-- and many health care pro's ARE worth their pay, IMHO.
My sister, Susan, from Tucson, AZ came over to my house as planned shortly before the new VA cleaning lady got here at 0900. Sue gave gthe woman a grade 'B', but said they could not find all the cleaning supplies and gave me some suggestions-- but the house looks very nice, and theylady was on time, cordial, with manners and a good worker from what I had time to see. Next time I will know and have things ready for her, etc. I am happy with that outcome. Sue stayed with the lady volunteering to help clean my dirty old house-- of her own choice for 3 hours, and then drove to the Kenosha Memorial Hosp. meeting me and Sharon there, room 884, ICU. I got there 3 hours early and then went shopping for all that my wife wanted/ needed and also delivered her CPAP so she could rest and sleep and breathe correctly at night. I hand picked a good bag of navel oranges that she requested, some chocolate, pens, paper, and a stuffed toy rabbit [NOT for Easter-- that we don't celebrate. We say, "HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!!], and some other personal items plus a camera that we had the nurse take a pic of us 3 people.
I learned that [and rushed all the way there this morning] the doctor which I had been told would talk to the both of us in the morning, was busy in surgery all day, and NOW they tell us that MAYBE they will operate on Sharon FRIDAY! They are discussing what TYPE of aortic heart valve they will use, pig membrane type or mechanical, and the chances of rejection, etc., and all that is involved. We wish they would just make up their minds and get this thing over with as it seems to create more stress and anxiety for us all the while. But, I hope they are taking the road of caution and wisdom, and I am glad for that. PTL.

As I was just typing here my sister, Sue, called up and she was witness to the doctor in the flesh finally coming to Sharon's room and he told her and let her have input as to what route they are going to take early Friday morning at 0700. The will Prep Sharon at 0600 and do surgery one hour after. She has picked out the type of valve that she wants and Sue let me know every detail as to what will transpire on that day. Let me tell you all that I wouldn't want to go thru that procedure-- although is all sounds methodical and correct. AND THEY SAY THAT SHARON HAS A 90% CHANCE OF EVERYTHING COMING OUT RIGHT AND SUCCESSFUL!! But she will be very drugged up for the next two days after when they have a heart Cath in her to monitor things, and she MUST stay still laying flat. Rehab will be long and hard, but I will settle for this great news in hand today. I give all credit, praise and honor to God in heaven.
I am going to call my wife again now.

Warm Regards,
Tom

Well, Sharon just called me again and said she was lonely, but gave me a new update on the agenda tomorrow. She said that the main doctor in charge is looking at a Thursday or Friday window for aortic heart valve surgery-- where as they thought they might do it tomorrow. He wants me to be there in the morning tomorrow so he can talk to both of us at the same time to explain some things. My sister, Susan, who flew up from Tucson, AZ, told me that she would stay at my house in the morning to supervise the VA cleaning lady who is scheduled to clean my house for 3 hours on Wednesday morning, and then she will drive to Kenosha to visit my wife too,.
Two fine Christian brothers from Victory Baptist church went to visit and pray with Sharon shortly after I left her at 11:30 today... and we both thought that was very important and nice; Chip Mitchell and a younger gentleman who is very smart named Tod, from OH., and both close friends of mine.
:-)
So these things/ schedules have changed a few times already so that nothing is written in stone, especially when it has to do with hospitals and doctors. I will be nice today and say that things went OK...lol. Sharon wants some 'real' food, and her clothes brought to her tomorrow plus her own CPAP machine and fresh fruit and cheese, etc. A close friend, Penny and her hubby, Rob called me up from CA before, but she had such a bad sore throat that it was hard for me to understand it all. She prays for us all the time and she used to be a missionary in Mexico for many years. I have made so many fundamental, biblical Christian friends these past few months and they are a blessing to Sharon and I, and Sharon's son, Jamie, and fine daughter in law, Tammy from OH email and pray for us often too. But you have to cast your net often to find the fish-- and people to lead to the Lord, and make the right friends with! It's called the "Good Work," spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ far and wide! Then the blessing will flow from God.

Deuce, our Rottweiler, was very happy to see me come home around 1 PM today, so he could go outside in the rain to 'relieve' himself, and then I fed him. If we know we are going to be gone for a few hours, we don't feed him but he always has plenty of fresh, clean water, and he is so smart as not to eat any food when we are gone -- as he knows that he just may have to' dump' before we get back-- and the dude has a good brain! I shared a can of Sardines with the cat [Cuddles] and the dog, and now I am about to have a few pickled Herring to sooth my stomach soon. The dog is pretty good natured as he stretches out on the floor, and he is my servant and look out tonight. It's like having a soldier on guard duty while I rest and sleep. I can trust him far more than any of the Dims [Democrat]... lol, and I bet he has a higher IQ too
:-D.
So it was a long, busy, emotional day for Sharon and I.

More latter,

Hugs,
Tom

America's Bastard Percentage Increases Again

IronInk.org
In 2007 in America almost 40% (39.7%) of children born are born to unwed mothers. This is an increase of 1.2% from the statistics of 2006. For those who attended government schools this means that almost 4 out of 10 (2 out of 5 if you never learned fractions) babies were born to unwed mothers. The statistic reveal that from 2005-2007 the number of children born in these United States to married women has declined 0.3% while the number born to unmarried women has mushroomed to 12.3%.

Russian Roulette
By Jan Markell

Russia has an evil intent, and she is going to be seriously wounded when she perpetrates it. Russia is regaining her old aggressiveness and brutality. White House correspondent Bill Koenig and I discussed it on air Saturday, March 21, on my live broadcast. We know this for sure: The Russian invasion of Israel has not yet happened. It is a future event but we don't know how future. It is often called the Gog-Magog War. According to Josephus, the ancient Scythians inhabited the land of Magog that is now Russia.

Here's what else we know from Ezekiel 38. Many Islamic nations will participate (verse 5). It is in the "latter days" (verses 8 and 16). Israel is "living securely" (verse 8). A major motive will be to seize Israel's wealth (verse 12). Many nations will object but will not get involved (verse 13). God is angry because forces are invading His land (verse 16). God raises severe judgment on the invaders (verse 22). Many nations are awed at this and recognize that He is Lord (verse 23).

The scenario in chapter 39 states that the devastation of the enemy will be great (verse 4). God will send fire upon the lands of some of those involved in this invasion of Israel (verse 6). God's holy name is made known in Israel, and they will know He is the Holy One of Israel (verse 7). Israel will burn weapons for seven years, which may indicate this is a Tribulation war (verse 9). Russia and her allies will be buried in Israel for seven months (verse 12). Israel will know that the Lord God of Israel orchestrated this. His glory is set among the nations and in Israel (verse 21). Israel will have some kind of spiritual awakening (verse 22). God will not hide His face from them any longer for He will pour out His Spirit on the house of Israel (verse 29). This should not be confused with "all Israel saved" at the Second Coming.
Since Bible prophecy is in a fast-forward mode, we need to be paying attention to major events taking place. One of the issues that those with their eye on the sky have wondered about is what is the wealth Israel possesses that is so vital that Gog (Russia) and her allies are willing to invade Israel to seize it. A story many seem to think significant is the fact that Israel has just discovered five trillion feet of natural gas off the shore of Haifa. And that is just for starters. It is believed there is much more soon to be tapped into, as well as oil not yet discovered in various parts of the country. Oil may be a speculation but the natural gas is a reality.

Russia needs natural gas! That was, in part, her reason for invading the former Soviet state of Georgia. Additionally, Russia is building seaports in Syria and Libya. Libya is one of the participants in this forthcoming war. Another participant -- Turkey -- is now more aligned with Russia than ever before. A primary participant in the Gog-Magog war is Iran who is always strengthening her ties with Russia.

As for other items of wealth or a "spoil" in Israel, we should include her Dead Sea assets and technological wealth. But it is the natural gas find that everyone should keep an eye on. This was the missing piece of the puzzle! And hardly anyone is paying attention to it. The media just says this will be a great asset for Israel as they are clueless about the Ezekiel 38-39 passage and how this find might apply to biblical prophecy.

Returning to the theme of the rapid escalation of events today, Dr. Thomas Ice says,
"Things are moving so fast in the last six months that stage-setting events are happening at a speed no one person can keep up with. Prophecy is on fast-forward!"

Dr. Ice also says,
"God's plan for history always moves forward in relation to what He is doing with Israel. Thus, the fact that Israel has been and continues to be reconstituted as a nation is prophetically significant, so significant that it makes Israel God's 'super-sign' of the end-times. Were Israel not a nation again it would be impossible for events of the end-time to occur since so many of them take place in that tiny country or in reference to her. But she has returned and so it is that all other aspects of Bible prophecy are also being prepared for the grand finale of history."

Yes, it is a tragedy that the church today does not care about this topic, but the Bible predicted scoffers near the end (II Peter 3:4). Too bad much of the scoffing is coming from church pulpits. And it grieves many of us that once-solid denominations and churches now embrace Replacement Theology that says the church is the new Israel. Nonetheless, in this dark day, keep looking up -- even if you get a stiff neck.
Keep listening for the sound of a glorious trumpet! Stage-setting signs have never been so prolific! Not everyone has this blessed hope!
