Gale Garnett - We'll Sing in the Sunshine (1964)

I was very happy to be in church this morning [and the sermon was about prayer, how to pray, when, etc, RBC], as I barely found a place to sit with all the seats filled in that huge place, and then got an idea to drive to the old Victory BC church to catch their fine service too. Sharon was sick half the night and throwing up from her own Mexican cooking that I failed to taste... so she missed church today-- poor lady. I brought her some Popeye's chicken, etc home and she seems to be a bit better now. What a beautiful, warm Sunday!! Things are going well and I just want to spend some quality time with my wife-- and rest up for tomorrow's work schedule/ plans.

I don't have a lot to say today except that I have some great ideas for doing some carpentry and wood carving soon. Maybe plant some more veggies in the garden and visit my son, Andy, and write letters to the other kids. I have been thinking about taking more pocket Bibles to the VA and handing them out to the patients/ Veterans there and making more friends. When things are going so well for me-- I just want to "bottle some of that sun shine up" and save it for a rainy day.

I noticed that the price of silver is steadily going UP lately, and in my mind, that 'means something' to me. Maybe I will share that with you latter... but I think our U.S. currency is in trouble. That's just my personal opinion though.
I have a feeling that there will be a Credit Card problem next in our great country and we will have to learn to live more frugal without spending every day. This will be compounded by the higher price of fuel/ gasoline which I expect to hit about $4/ gallon about September-- but I HOPE I am wrong! I paid cash at Sears the other day, right after I finally paid off that credit card with the HIGH interest, and I thought: why give them more interest? Can you imagine 21% compound INTEREST?? They must think we are a bunch of dumb monkeys!

“Jesus does not say, ‘Come to me, all you who have learned how to concentrate in prayer, whose minds no longer wander, and I will give you rest.’ No, Jesus opens his arms to his needy children and says, ‘Come to me, all who are weary and heaven-laden, and I will give you rest.’

The criteria for coming to Jesus is messiness. Come overwhelmed with life. Come with your wandering mind. Come messy.”
