Long Tan

On 18 August 1968 D Company of 6RAR encountered a combined NVA and VC force estimated at 1500-2000 strong in the Long Tan rubber plantation five kilometres east of Nui Dat. Read about New Zealand involvement in the ensuing battle here:

Tet Offensive

Early in the morning of 31 January 1968 NVA and VC forces attacked around a hundred towns and cities in South Vietnam, breaking the Tet ceasefire that had been called to celebrate the lunar New Year. Read about the impact of the Tet Offensive on the New Zealand forces in Vietnam here:

Dinah Lee

Dinah Lee, New Zealand's original Entertainer of the Year became a star on both sides of the Tasman during the 1960s. During the Vietnam War she made two trips to entertain troops in South Vietnam. Listen to Dinah talk about her experiences here:
