Have a Nice Apocalypse!
By William N. Grigg ... Wow!!
I have personally noticed that the local crime rate is climbing in Milwaukee-- about 30 miles North of our sleepy little farm town, and it gives me pause. I remember in the 1960's that local TV stations used to show a quick picture of the perpetrators and perhaps it was a bit racist, but they were mostly people of dark color on the North side of Milwaukee. People of ALL colors and backgrounds break the law too, and I think that we have a big problem with DUI's up here, and texting/ talking on the cell phone while driving. I realize that there is more pressure on the unemployed, depressed, hopeless folks -- but it makes sense that a person ought to STAY IN SCHOOL and LEARN A TRADE to support themselves and be a productive member of society. Too, people who have served in the Armed Forces seem to have a sense of pride and self worth and discipline to develop their lives and start a nice family, IMHO. You be the judge as this is only my personal opinion. Being raised to love and serve God is key too, in my opinion.
Personally, I had a hard time readjusting to civilian life in 1970 after 2 years of combat in RVN, and I envied other Vets who easily integrated back into society. Flying every day in helicopters was such a 'rush' compared to the 'slow motion' hum drum life in rural S.E. Wisconsin. I am almost done playing 'catch up' in old age [age 60] having found the Lord.
As things will most certianly get worse instead of better, and the present day corrupt obama Gov't is partially to blame for strife, pressure and stress in America, you all know that every day life will be more 'exciting.' I have heard many Veterans forced to live and work in the inner city say that they had to use their old military 'survival skills' to stay out of danger now days. I bought a few cool 'challenge coins' with the Scripture, Ephesians 6: 10-12, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole amour of God, that ye may be able d to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of spiritual wickedness in high places." I understand what this means-- but I recently 'applied' it a different way to my wife and her disabilities and many physical problems. She ALWAYS forgets to use her cane to aid her in walking with dizziness from the meds she must take daily. I told her to think of her cane as a 'sword' that a soldier MUST ALWAYS CARRY. Also shoes, breast plate, helmet, etc are all part of her 'uniform' that must be worn for protection [and a whistle around her neck on a chain- to toot for help if she falls !] -- and the constant need and use of her OXYGEN to help her breathe, etc. It's just some 'imagery' that I cooked up to aid in my teaching.
We have another gloomy Fall day, but we force ourselves to get something done... lol.
I just found a NATURE'S WAY herbal urinary combination preparation in capsules, at my fav. health food store, for $10.49, that really works!! Contact me if you know someone who needs it. We older folks need to stick together and help each other. I would much rather use natural herbs to help myself than take some goofy doctor's noxious drug potion with many bad side effects. "Better life thru chemicals???" LOL! They can keep the change, and the chemicals -- I just want my freedom and health.
Have a great day!
