What is real Wisdom?

Tom's Journal.http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/tschuckman@aol.com

Seems to me that the month of August went by kind of fast, and with out any great tragedy or sire emergency, PTL. But Autumn is our fav. time of the year whee we can get away without any heat or A/C, and we love the colors and change of seasons in Wisconsin. I sure would love to enjoy myself with out worrying about the 'other shoe dropping' and I believe that the God we worship is a 'Happy God' in heaven, and He wants all His children to be happy too-- with in our bounded limits according to the 'Word.'

I was just thinking [with out getting too heavy in the deeper, complex things, or full of myself...] that we used to pride ourselves concerning our 'where -with- all', resourcefulness, education and experience/ training, that we old soldiers can and do fall back on many defenses when things go a rye, or a clear and present danger. Some of us may have laughed and made sport of people of lesser means, or ignorance, [or limited intelligence] caught in a calamity, like hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, who didn't have a way out of the city. Although I think that beans and rice ought to come before cigarettes and whiskey.... I have ALWAYS said: "Never, but NEVER, put your faith and trust in the government!!" Do you have a PLAN and a few more "back up systems/ people" that you can rely on in a real emergency?? Before you buy your 2nd flat screen color TV or more jewelry, you'd better consider what I just said. Smart people and even the Bible says that storing up some money is a good idea, for when times are lean and mean.... but putting ALL of your faith and trust in gold and silver will NOT save you from God's Day of Wrath, when the Lord comes back to judge. In fact, Ezekiel tells about people who will be throwing their money in the streets at the last hour. Me thinks that it would be better to face a mad she-bear with a tooth pick.... LOL.

I have long asked in prayer for the wisdom to know exactly how much of any commodity/ tools/ currency are correct and sufficient for an emergency. These things can be found in the Bible alone, IMHO... many in the book of Proverbs, etc. However, the apostle Paul had some serious, wise council for us at: 1st Corinthians, chapter 3, starting with verse 19: "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. [20] Therefore let no man glory in men. Rot all things are your; [23] And ye are Christ's, and Christ is God's." Yet so many human 'leaders' strut around like peacocks oozing out all the so-called 'wisdom' that brings shame upon God's name and Word-- the Bible, and we Christians who are trying to do right, shudder to think that God's mighty power will crush the wicked like tiny bugs on concrete! "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her [Babylon the Great-- the world empire of false religion], my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." ~ Revelation 17:4.

I would like to help some people who are still having problems [just as we all have, including ME] even as they are attending church, etc. 'Make sure of one thing... that the church you are going to has the HOLY SPIRIT!! Is it producing the 'Fruits of the Spirit' out lined at Galatians 5:22?? The pastor is charged with 'looking after and protecting the flock' from spiritual dangers, gossip, slander, mean spirited members, actually everything that is is mention prior TO the good fruits-- the 'works of the flesh.' Too, most everything that comes out of the pastor/ preacher's mouth ought to be pure Bible, NOT the 'wisdom' of men, or some 'tradition' or church! Does YOUR church or meeting place have a specially set aside place and time for group Bible study, with a responsible elder or deacon that is BIBLE qualified ?? If not, why are you wasting your time there and giving them your MONEY? False 'christian' preachers and teachers will be judged by God in the end! Be bold enough to ask them serious Biblical questions. Don't just go with the flow like a 'dead fish.' Because that, plus your PERSONAL Bible study is so important to help us learn and become mature Christians, able to give a good defense for our Faith, and to lead others to get SAVED! Ponder on these questions, please. Because time is of the essence, and gambling on the 'Right' meeting place might well mean where you spend the rest of eternity. Christian radio is a close runner up, and visiting/ talking to other Christians via PC, phone or snail mail will help us too. And this is not just some 'flavor' of a particular sect-- but why is it that many so-called 'Christians' don't know/ understand what being SAVED, or BORN-AGAIN, means?? BTW, the Bible is the ONLY Book, where you can learn about these concepts. Who ever you are or claim to be, what is your excuse for NOT knowing what the Bible says/ teaches, when it's written on a 5th grade level ? If you spend more time watching TV than reading and studying the Bible-- you don't have a leg to stand on, as to being ignorant of Scripture. Be fore warned. Be advised.

If ever there is a question that I cannot answer for you-- I sure know many mature Christians who can and would be happy to help you. People tell me that 'once I've had my knee replacement surgery' ... I will say, "I wish I would have had it sooner!" I believe it's the same getting SAVED, and being 'well fed' as a Christian.

Wealthy – a Relative Term

By Greg Laurie Harvest Ministries I have heard it said that if you have money in the bank, in your wallet and spare change in a dish somewhere else, you are among the top 8 percent of the world's wealthy. When I think about this, I realize that, in a sense, I am wealthy.Are there people who have more than me? Of course there are. Are there people who have less than me? Absolutely. Wealthy is a

Tom I know that we all get stressed, worry about upcoming events, like surgeries, whether or not our insurance will accept the online DME (Durable Medical Equipment) or not and then will my power chair get approved or not.

I know the closer to the time of my Vertebroplasty, I get scared and worried. I realize this is the time to turn everything over to God in prayer and let Him do His work and will instead of mine.

I also know that you are worried about where you are on the waiting list for your knee surgery and the closer things start getting for you, the more worried you become. I know this is all natural, but again, if we follow Proverbs 3:5-6;
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding; In all thy ways aknowlodge him, and he shall direst thy paths.

Things will not be as bad.
