Tom's Journal.

This has been a great help to me-- the way it was laid out in perfect form! I've got to tell and explain something to you. The first time I attended college, my print reading teacher was very kind, understanding, and he always had some 'pearls of wisdom' to impart to his students. Since I never studied print reading for welders before-- it was all 'Greek' to me, so he told me that his own son, also working hard to learn new things at college claimed that sometimes he had to re-read the same material 7 times before it sunk in!
Let's face it, for some of us, certain things/ subjects come easy-- while others really have to struggle with them. Frankly, I've been in BOTH camps. My college tests show that I have a very high 'verbal aptitude', but I just HATE Math. And so I bet that many of you wonder how I gained/ passed a Securities/ Investments license and worked in welding and carpentry....Ha! Well, sometimes you have got to want something really bad, and so you PUSH yourself! Soldiering wasn't always easy and fun-- but you couldn't just fly away like a bird when the rockets and bullets were flying toward you. And the cows on the farm had to be milked 365 days of the year, and the cattle and hogs fed too.

Reality: When a person gets Saved by the Holy Spirit, he/ she doesn't wake up the next morning and become PERFECT, WISE, UNDERSTANDING EVERYTHING, or never has bad breath or body odor...LOL!! Learning takes EFFORT, time, study, prayer AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.... talking about Bible related things, etc, and then we will STILL be imperfect while on earth.

I have entered into many agreements, contracts, and arrangements only to find out soon that I really "stepped into something" nasty. I don't "JUDGE" someone who never took a chance in high school, work, sports, academics or the military-- but I have much more respect and admiration for those who take on something difficult and/ or different and try to the best of their ability. And I was not successful in everything I tried either. After all, what good is an UN-tested warrior? Many of the young people now days are afraid to try, sweat, work, study, be a productive citizen and contribute to the Lord in many ways. And they CHOSE to remain IGNORANT-- but that will NOT save them from God's righteous judgment! And please don't think it was easy for me to change many of my evil ways... I was a dreamer and wished that some rich uncle would WILL me all his treasure... LOL. And I didn't get anything from my Dad after he passed except his broken down watch-- but that's OK too. He did teach me a lot-- 18 years on the farm. After that I was totally on my own, and that's the way I liked it. I figured that I could do and live better-- but I fell on my face a few times.

Now, for the "new" and "young" Christians, this article will probably seem hard to understand, but like I said, it's worth the read. It offers the logical proof explained fairly well and trashes the "Mid- Trib and Post-Tribulation camps, who want you to believe that HUMANS can make or govern 'Heaven on Earth' and that New Age stuff...Ha! This is also another reason why REAL, biblical Christians don't put all their marbles in Gov't elections, or political parties. They will not work in the long run -- and we have OUR sights fixed on something that our God promises that is much better--HEAVEN, and soon to come. We may vote for the better person who will lead honestly and with Constitutional adherence and Justice for all.... but this is really a temporary 'band aid' until the Lord comes.

Sharon said a half hour ago that she could not keep from throwing up a few times today, but her blood sugar seems to be OK.... for now. I will see her tomorrow morning and get back with the details.

That Which Shall Be Hereafter

By Jack Kinsella The Omega Letter The Book of the Revelation was authored by the Apostle John on the island of Patmos off the coast of Greece sometime around the last decade of the 1st century.Note that it is NOT the Revelation of John, but the Revelation of Jesus Christ to John the Apostle. John makes that clear from the start: "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to shew

The World's Oldest Disease.

Tom's Journal.

Instead of crying in my beer today and feeling lonely, I want to highlight one of my fav. columns, OLIVE TREE MINISTRIES, by Jan Markell. With all the grief and bad news in the world, every day, every 'news cycle,' we ought NEVER to lose sight of the 'End Game' that is so plainly written in God's Word-- the Bible.

I talked to Sharon in the hospital on the phone, and she sounds cheerful. It's a very foggy day, and my power scooter needs to be charged up, but we stay in touch many times a day, one way or another. I am her "go-fer" and that's OK. A combination of my up-bringing, soldiering and Bible beliefs inculcate a sense of duty in me that works. My foot is cracked open from dry skin, so my duties will come slow today, as I 'doctor' myself at home. And yes, I do soak my feet in hot water and Epsom salt, etc and apply a special ointment with clean socks....Ha!

More latter, and thank you all for the many prayers and comments.

Book by Anita Dittman with Jan Markell
Trapped in Hitler's Hell

Anita Dittman was just a little girl when the winds of Hitler and Nazism began to blow through Germany. By the time she was 12, the war had begun. Abandoned by her father when he realized the price of being associated with a Jewish wife and family, Anita and her mother were ultimately left to fend for themselves. This book is a vivid testimony of the sovereignty and faithfulness of Christ in the life a little German-Jewish girl. Purchase it for $12 + S/H.
Find the 70-minute DVD here for $16 + $5 S/H. This is Anita sharing her story before a live audience with an intro by Jan.
A reader writes, "I opened Trapped in Hitler's Hell last night just to flip through pages. But after just reading the first page, I could not put it down. What a powerful, awesome story and a faith builder."--Lorri

Book by Hal Lindsey
The Road to Holocaust

Replacement Theology is heresy. But the vast majority of churches these days adhere to it. Author Hal Lindsey exposes that this grave error of the church today is a rerun of what the church in Germany espoused prior to World War II and Hitler's attempt to exterminate God's people. It's happening again and the consequences aren't limited to Germany. Next time it will be a worldwide Holocaust. Learn the truth of God's relationship with His people so you can recognize error when it confronts you. Purchase this book for $17 + S/H.

Hope in a World of Troubling Change

Our 2010 spring conference -- "Hope in a World of Troubling Change" -- provided an up-to-the-minute biblical perspective on all that is happening around us worldwide and within the confines of the church. This set contains two messages by Dr. Gary Frazier and two messages by Eric Barger, as well as a Q&A that Jan conducted at close of conference. The content is the same but the DVDs have valuable PowerPoint speaker presentations.
Let us assist you in making sense of our tumultuous times.

The World's Oldest Disease
by Jan Markell
June 14. 2010

The world remains sick with a very old disease for which no cure has ever been found. It tends to go into remission now and then, but it always reappears as virulent as ever. It even develops into new strains. Some have called it a lethal obsession. It is called anti-Semitism, and if the Jews did not exist, some anti-Semite would invent him. It's that bad.

The Helen Thomas story is now old but it was very revealing. In just a brief moment of time, she spewed in microcosm what kings, generals, fuhrers, pharoahs, and Muslim extremists have done in legion. She tried to dispossess the Jews. None of Israel's enemies have any knowledge of what the Bible has to say about the land or the people of Israel. None of her enemies experience even a nano-second of guilt for telling the Jews to go back to Auschwitz. Even though I researched the Holocaust to write the Anita Dittman story, Trapped in Hitler's Hell, I cannot imagine the haunting thought of being told to go back to Auschwitz had I ever been interned there. But in demonstrations after the May 31 flotilla fiasco in Gaza, signs sprouted up all over the world saying that the Jews should all pack up and head to Auschwitz, which is now a solemn memorial museum. In its own way, it says "never again" just as all of Israel does when the subject of the Holocaust comes up.

For someone to tell a Jew in Israel to "go home" also makes no sense because they are home. They may have passed through Germany or Poland, or Russia as my grandparents did, but the Bible reveals that Israel is their home. Of all earth's inhabitants, only the Jews have a deed to a piece of land from God as recorded in the Bible. But then not even most church members even know that, let alone the monsters of the world.

The destiny of the Jew is to be eternally unsafe around the world. The day is coming when friends of Israel will also feel uneasy and unsafe. Right now the "friends of Israel" are primarily evangelical Christians who do not hold to Replacement Theology -- the belief that the church has replaced Israel. Rather, they recognize that the land and people of Israel were chosen by God to be special real estate and a chosen people. In Leviticus 25 God calls Israel "My land." So it belongs to God. He has given it to Israel to manage and make the desert blossom as a rose.
As I researched the Holocaust for the Dittman book, I became aware that for the first time in the history of the human race, a decision was made in a modern nation (Germany,) in the midst of a civilized continent (Europe). That decision paved the way for people to behave in an unthinkable manner. A unique group of innocent people -- the Jews -- were tracked down, registered, marked, dispossessed, humiliated, and transported against their will. They had generously contributed to the culture of the world. Perhaps their biggest problem was that they were different, but in a good way. They dared to be different. But they cannot afford the luxury of historical amnesia. They must be vigilant, conscious, and always prepared for the resurgence of the plague of anti-Semitism.

There is global outrage when Israel tries to defend herself from rockets or "activists" bearing lethal weapons, riding in a flotilla while world powers who arm themselves with weapons of mass destruction receive little chastisement. Terrorists such as Hamas and Fatah actually receive U.S. aid while Israel is scolded, threatened, and humiliated by Washington. Any Israeli act of self-defense becomes a massacre, genocide, or ethnic cleansing.

In recent decades, the anti-Semitism has sprouted new wings and turned into anti-Israel activity and sentiment. It's bad enough that the Jews exist, but to have their own nation is more than most can stomach. Colleges in the Western world are riddled with anti-Israel sentiment. You can find Israel-bashing events, often called Israeli Apartheid Week, on dozens of campuses. And what fuels much of this is the sentiment that Israel is the Goliath beating up on helpless Palestinians. The untold story is that the Palestinians are rendered helpless, not by Israel, but by their own leadership. It would seem that the world -- not just Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- really wants another Holocaust. Yellow stars are even being put on the backs of Jewish Norwegian school children today.

So what is the spiritual connection? The devil is in the details. He knows the Bible better than many Christians. Satan knows that the Jews are the key to the end of the age -- from how it plays out to where it plays out. He knows that if he could exterminate the Jews, perhaps his demise could be thwarted. Helen Thomas doesn't understand that nor do the Islamic empires who want to vaporize the people and nation of Israel.

It is only this ugly age-old anti-Semitic sentiment that calls the terrorist occupants on the Turkish boat Mavi Marmara good, and the nation of Israel, evil (Isaiah 5:20). You can see in this video that the Israelis, who were armed with paintball guns, are being mercilessly beaten with multiple kinds of objects. But the world doesn't care. They have bought the lie. The lie is that there would be world peace if only Israel and the Jews would disappear. They won't. That's a guarantee. Their greatest hour is yet future.

The enemies of Israel believe now is the time they can destroy her. But the Bible says, Then shall the Lord go out and fight against those nations (Zechariah 14:3). God says, When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you (Deuteronomy 20:1).
To better understand this, visit our Web category called Anti-Semitism. The Bible says that in the last days, the persecution of both Jews and Christians will intensify. Thus, we also feature a Web category called Christian Persecution.
