I just felt that I needed to share this fine lady's recipes, and it sounds so good that my mouth is watering....Ha! People like Mary Ann are the type of friends I love to 'hang out' with and read/ share blog sites and info. It also makes ME feel good inside to share something profitable and good.
On a sober note, the doctor visit yesterday and X-ray showed that Sharon indeed has a compression fracture in her lower back [L-2], and is in much pain again, but resting in her comfortable EZ chair watching TV, etc. She just happened to be correct this time in her own prognostication [analysis]. We believe this happened when she fell down AGAIN, a few days ago. Instead of fixing the 'blame' on herself or what ever, we just want her to rest and heal. A back surgeon called today and wanted to see her for possible surgery-- but Sharon still has a bad taste in her mouth of a back surgery gone wrong many years ago in Ohio that still gives he pain and grief. She emphatically told the surgeon NO! In this case, I have to respect Sharon's freedom and right to choose her own treatment, or lack, thereof.... If she doesn't want to go under the knife-- I will NOT force her.
Pastor George Schagel came over to our house yesterday to visit and offer his assistance [and pray for us-- or course], and I think that we all had a fruitful meeting with advice and help/ encouragement. He is the Senior Pastor of Union Grove Baptist church, not far from our humble hovel, and does a good job preaching and teaching in his Biblical, conservative, friendly church in the country-- and they have a Christian school, graded and high school that has a GREAT reputation for academic excellence, and biblical training! Sharon and I are both members of the church and have a good handful of friends... being there for a few years now.
Wow! It's all over the radio, TV and Inter-Net News about the floods and super rainfall in Central and S.E. Wisconsin last night and today!! Like 7 1/2 inches of rain last night, but our small country community was spared, from what I hear, even with a heavy rain storm, and my 100 year old house was build strong in the 'old days', when a 2 by 4 was actually a 2" by 4" ! Sunday is when my good son, Andy, says he can finish the paint and trim, and the only Sunny day that we will have in all this rain. Hey! I am NOT complaining about the rain... the farmers need it for the great stand of corn and Summer wheat, etc., crops, and my garden too.
I have a small cut one the sole of my left foot, and so I twisted my own ankle and hobble around, not being able to help my wife like I want to..... what a bummer. But I will heal soon enough. Soaked my foot in hot water and Epsom salt and it feel better already!
