Rosh Hashanah.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

I had a good breakfast with a friend from another church I visited last Sunday in Racine, today in town, and he invited me to his church's 'breakfast club' and Bible study some Thursday, and I think that would be interesting.  My old motto:  'One never has too many friends.'  I can tell when another person speaks "Christian/ Bible" and most folks can't fake that language.  We ALL come to the Lord and knowledge of the Bible at various stages/ time/ maturity in our life, and that's OK-- it's logical.  We treat each other with love and kindness no matter what level of 'maturity' we are in full- well- knowing that we were all "babes in the Lord" at one time and had much to learn.  The difference is:  When a person is truly Saved and Christian, he/ she will start to be more humble and learn from others who have been there before-- but one who is fully committed will 'have a LOVE for the Bible-- and that means they READ and STUDY it regularly!'   I don't rad or study as much as I think I should-- I get lazy and too comfortable.   You can at least SEE SOME progress in their attitude, speech and actions.  I AM A SINNER.  Period.  I know what's right and wrong and have long studied the deeper things of the Lord and His Word-- but my flesh is weak, and I sin.  I must ask forgiveness every day/ every night, for my indiscretions, errors, short comings, sins, and falling short of the mark of perfection-- and God says that I am FORGIVEN!!  But only through the merit of my Lord Jesus' propitiatory, bloody, suffering and death on the cross!  Got to understand that important point-- Jesus is the reason for the forgiveness of my [our] sins.

Point:  After breakfast, I went to the local [or loco] Piggly Wiggly store in town for some fruit, etc., with only my one cane to support me as I wheeled the cart in front of me, and it was OK for a while.  But I was running out of breath and my knees and legs were hurting at the end, so I asked if one of the guys could help load the groceries to my rental car-- a  2011 Ford Escape -- kind of like a pregnant orange crate, with not enough leg room for a 6 ft. tall German-American, weight lifter, like me... lol.  My Ram truck is in the shop for repair...  I must admit that the sudden "exercise" is GOOD and important for me, and I need it.  But I am pushing it and I need to still take it easier, as it's only been since June 14th that the 'doctors' in Kenosha did a number on my Left knee-- total knee replacement, and I think sometimes older guys [like age 62] need a bit more time getting their 'sea legs' back, if you know what I mean.  Heck!  I think that I am making good progress, and praise the Lord that it's not Winter yet!  I wish I could get more sun on my face, as folks tell me that I look too pale and anemic.  But I can 'fix that' too.

I just might visit another church this Sunday and see my old friends who are still alive, and meet new ones.  I was baptized there at VBC by pastor Earl B. Wise, in 1997 on a hot day in July, many moons ago, and still have friends there who care for me.  The pastor here in my home town of U.G. told me 'not to forget my "home church" ' ..LOL.  Not to worry-- but Old Soldier Tom has needs and desires too.  And if I can find my old swim suit, I will start pumping iron again soon and re-join the Kenosha, WI. YMCA to get myself in better shape... and I think that will help me lose even MORE weight!  I am doing it for MYSELF and my health, not to please other folks.  I am so happy to have lost another 10 pounds since my new VA doctor saw me 2 weeks ago!  Yes!
So, it's another beautiful, cool, Fall day in WI, with some leaves falling amid some sunshine, and I am feeling great.  PTL.
Thank you, all my dear friends for your nice, kind, comments on my Blog posts lately, and your emails!  I really love to get email and calls, and wish you all good health, blessings and kindness.  Times are exciting, scary, wicked, but the Lord sees all and He certainly blesses those who love Him and try to keep His Word in mind.  I am going to feed 'Deuce' the rest of my pizza from the other day-- he loves the meat!  Woo Woo.  Got to pay about $40 some bucks for a 40 pound sack of dog food! And the price of a good breakfast today seems to have really gone UP to about $9 for a country skillet-- and I was so hungry today!!!
I don't find it surprising that some people would trade their portion of food, for drugs, smokes, or booze, because I remember a POW in Germany saying just that of/ about his recollection of  WW-2, Concentration camp, that some would actually swap their food for one cigarette!  Talk about a 'monkey on your back.'  Sorry, I just don't have much pity for people who just refuse to get their priorities straightened out.  But don't worry, children, times will get much more worse and harder in the near future.  Some will wish they had treated me right/ better when I had my hat in my hand with silver in my pocket, looking for a simple hug.  I know that I am too emotional, and the loss of my passed wife still grieves me [my son, Andy too- killed in the month of May 2011], and I get very lonely at times with only 'Deuce' the Rottweiler for company....Ha!  But he's cool and entertains me.  I need a real Christian  lady close to my age [certainly not perfect] to hug and to hold, and to spoil, and to talk with-- something that can blossom into a serious relationship-- with the Lord included, down the road-- if the rapture doesn't precede...  I just can't have a real conversation with my dog-- although I have over heard more than a few women try to do just that... [joke].  yet they lacked proper words for humans, like me...lol.

Time to kick back, enjoy retirement and get my mail.  It was so nice, and cool to retired with full Chrysler benefits after 30.5 years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears on the assembly line-- making some life long good friends, at age 54!  Wow!  I made it, but most of us there got carpal tunnel, repetitive work related injuries, surgeries, and came out the 'walking wounded.'  Still have great medical/ health insurance/ benefits, but we earned them!  That didn't stop the company from just taking away some of our benefits without even consulting the retirees!  Oh well.  I also have 100% free [earned] med coverage from the VA [Gov't], so like I said, the Lord has blessed me, big time.  A few women engaged me just for that very coverage/ reason of health Ins., in the past.
But who really thinks that they can actually 'get away' with anything??  I found out that I am personally not smart enough to "get away" with sin, crime, deception, lying, etc., so I decided to just be a law abiding citizen of the USA, and things usually go right for me-- Old Soldier Tom, and that's the way it should be, IMHO.

Hugs,
Tom ....  at the Wall, in D.C., a few years ago.

Learning Experience.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Hi Friends,
I just have a happy, sober, realistic, mature out look on life today-- and at least the sun is out for part of the day, but high winds are supposed to come this aft in S.E Wisconsin.
Every once in a while I need to just pull back and take stock of my life, situation to get a fresh prospective. Besides careful consideration of the Bible, I normally call, email some of my good buddies all over America, visit and ask their advice, and most of them are Christians and combat Veterans with plenty of experience, smarts and insight....  so then I add the sum total and make my final decision. Proverbs:  'There is wisdom in a multitude of counselors.'
I am always reaching out to meet and make new friends, usually brothers and sister in the Faith, and don't we all have our guide lines to discriminate somewhat?   Hard, painful experience has taught me to beware the wrong kind of people who are "takers" rather than "givers"-- and I am NOT pointing to anyone in particular! "Winners win-- and losers lose" but isn't it strange how the proud, haughty, independent folks always seem to be in want and ever satisfied with their lot in life. Perhaps it's because they have their personal priorities all turned around, and just want things THEIR way ALL time time.  I had to figure that out for myself too in my past life-- but i am sure that the Holy Spirit had some bearing on it too.  Isn't it amazing what a little humility and Bible study can do for a sinner man??    Sure we all 'take' --but it's nice and correct to be "balanced" and the Bible tells us what God sees as being "NORMAL" and proper, even as we are ALL sinners and fall 'short of the mark' of perfection. The book of Ephesians talks about the real meaning of "Love."  It's a short book that we can all read in 2 hours or less... but few will ever crack that sound book open.   I could NEVER live with a perfect woman-- because she would just magnify all my imperfections with intensity under a bright light,  and show me to be 'wanting' [Old English term].
I was just finishing my Prime Rib dinner from yesterday for my lunch today, along with kidney bean salad and broccoli, and I gave Deuce the Rottweiler, the bone, and what a happy hound!  He has fresh dog food and water, but we all know what he's going to eat first... huh?
The 2011 Ford Escape is just too small for a 6 foot tall man as I am, but I will suffer through with the rental vehicle until my own Dodge 4 by 4 Ram is repaired.  I am going to trust my gut instinct and buy two new special tires for the back  before Winter, as they are over 4 years old and I just hate the way they slip on wet pavement...  sorry.   And when I turn on my 4 wheel drive with a twist of a small knob, it uses more gas/ fuel, and don't worry folks, that gas WILL return to $4 +/ gallon sooner than you want to consider.   I just don't feel like taking anymore chances with Old Betsy... my 2007 Ram-- "Big Horn edition," -- but I love my big, roomy truck that protects me like an armored combat tank!  Much harder times are coming, economically speaking, and other wise,  mark my word!  Mark the Bible's true Word too!
Yup,  sometimes "Silence is Golden" when a man just needs to be alone and sort things out to get his mind straight, and I never figured that silence was so important until today... lol.  Things are not so bad with me anyway and sometimes we need a dose of the loud,  noisy, disorganized, goofiness, style of  life to drive that point home...LOL, to appreciate the peace, quiet and orderliness, empowered by owning one's own house...PTL.  Thank you, dear Lord, for 'correcting me in your kindness-- and not in your wrath.'  You are a mighty, wise and just God. and I suppose we all need reminders.
Bless all real and true Believers who study your Word daily and share the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, for they will sleep well at night.
Thank you, Bro. Dan Totts, for your good wisdom and advice today.

Warm Regards, Christian Hugs,
Tommy Schuckman

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

INTRODUCTION

Every September,  I recall that is now more than 65 years since I landed
at Nagasaki with the 2nd Marine Division in the original occupation of
Japan following World War II. This time every year,  I  have  watched
and listened  to the light-hearted   "peaceniks" and   their  light-headed
symbolism-without-substance of ringing bells, flying pigeons, floating
candles, and sonorous chanting and I recall again that "Peace is not a
cause - it is an effect."

In July, 1945, my fellow 8th RCT Marines [I was an ARman] and I returned to
Saipan following the successful conclusion of the Battle of Okinawa. We were
issued new equipment and replacements joined each outfit in preparation for
our coming amphibious assault on the home islands of Japan.

B-29 bombing had leveled the major cities of Japan, including Kobe, Osaka,
Nagoya, Yokohama, Yokosuka, and Tokyo.

We were informed we would land three Marine divisions and six Army
divisions,  perhaps abreast, with large reserves following us in. It was
estimated that it would cost half a million casualties to subdue the
Japanese homeland.

In August, the A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima but the Japanese government
refused to surrender. Three days later a second A-bomb was dropped on the
city of Nagasaki.  The Imperial Japanese government finally surrendered.
Following the 1941 sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, a Japanese admiral said, "I
fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant..." Indeed, they had.
Not surprisingly, the atomic bomb was produced by a free people functioning
in a free environment. Not surprisingly because the creative process is a
natural human choice-making process and inventiveness occurs most readily
where choice-making opportunities abound.  America!
Tamper with a giant, indeed! Tyrants, beware: Free men are nature's pit
bulls of Liberty! The Japanese learned the hard way what tyrants of any
generation should know: Never start a war with a free people - you never
know what they may invent!

As  a  newly  assigned  member  of  a  U.S. Marine intelligence section, I
had a unique opportunity to visit many  major  cities  of  Japan,  including
Tokyo  and Hiroshima, within weeks of their destruction. For a full year I
observed the beaches, weapons, and troops we would  have  assaulted  had
the  A-bombs  not  been dropped. Yes, it would have been very destructive
for all, but especially for  the people of  Japan.
One of the most constructive programs we initiated was to over-see first free election
in Japanese history - which included the women's Right to vote equal to the men!
That single event alone did more to turn Japan right-side-up than anything else
we did in the occupation! It had a marvelous and on-going healthy effect on their
daily lives. Individual value had arrived - to stay! Thank you, General MacArthur!

When we landed in Japan, for what came to be the finest and most humane
occupation of a defeated enemy in recorded history, it was with great
appreciation, thanksgiving, and praise for the atomic bomb team, including
the aircrew of the Enola Gay. A half million American homes had been spared
the Gold Star flag, including, I'm sure, my own.

Whenever I hear the apologists expressing guilt and shame for A-bombing and
ending the war Japan had started (they ignore the cause-effect relation
between Pearl Harbor and Nagasaki), I have noted that neither the effete
critics nor the puff-adder politicians are among us in the assault
landing-craft or the stinking rice paddies of their suggested alternative,
"conventional" warfare. Stammering reluctance is obvious and continuous, but
they do love to pontificate about the Rights that others, and the Bomb, have
bought and preserved for them.

The vanities of ignorance and camouflaged cowardice abound as license for
the assertion of virtuous "rights" purchased by the blood of others - those
others who have borne the burden and physical expense of Rights whining
apologists so casually and self-righteously claim.

At best, these fakers manifest a profound and cryptic ignorance of causal
relations, myopic perception, and dull I.Q. At worst, there is a word and
description in The Constitution defining those who love the enemy more than
they love their own countrymen and their own posterity. Every Yankee Doodle
Dandy knows what that word is.

In 1945, America was the only nation in the world with the Bomb and it
behaved responsibly and respectfully. It remained so until two among us
betrayed it to the Kremlin. Still, this American weapon system has been the
prime deterrent to earth's latest model world- tyranny: Seventy years of
Soviet collectivist definition, coercion, and domination of individual human
beings.
The message is this: Trust Freedom. Remember, tyrants never learn. The
restriction of Freedom is the limitation of human choice, and choice is the
fulcrum-point of the creative process in human affairs. As earth's
choicemaker, it is our human identity on nature's beautiful blue planet and
the natural premise of man's free institutions, environments, and respectful
relations with one another. Made in the image of our Creator, free men
choose, create, and progress - or die.

Free men should not fear the moon-god-crowd oppressor nor choose any of his
ways. Recall with a confident Job and a victorious David, "Know ye not you
are in league with the stones of the field?"

The Human Paradigm: Earth's Choicemaker  Psalm 25:12

Consider: The missing element in every human 'solution' is an accurate
definition of the creature.

In an effort to diminish the multiple and persistent dangers and abuses
which have characterized the affairs of man in his every Age, and to assist
in the requisite search for human identity, it is essential to perceive and
specify that distinction which naturally and most uniquely defines the human
being.

Because definitions rule in the minds, behaviors, and institutions of men,
we can be confident that delineating and communicating that quality will
assist the process of resolution and the courageous ascension to which
man is called. As Americans of the 21st Century, we are obliged and
privileged to join our forebears and participate in this continuing
paradigm proclamation.

"WHAT IS MAN...?" God asks - and answers:
HUMAN DEFINED: EARTH'S CHOICEMAKER
by James Fletcher Baxter  (c)  2011 AD

The  way we define 'human' determines our view of self, others,
relationships, institutions, life, and future. Many problems in human
experience are the result of false and inaccurate definitions of humankind
premised in man-made religions and humanistic philosophies.

Human knowledge is a fraction of the whole universe. The balance is a vast
void of human ignorance. Human reason cannot fully function in such a void;
thus, the intellect can rise no higher than the criteria by which it perceives and
measures values.

Humanism makes man his own standard of measure.  However, as with all
measuring systems, a standard must be greater than the value measured. Based
on preponderant ignorance and an egocentric carnal nature, humanism demotes
reason to the simpleton task of excuse-making in behalf of the rule of
appetites, desires, feelings, emotions, - and glands.

Because man, hobbled in an ego-centric predicament, cannot invent criteria
greater than himself, the humanist lacks a predictive capability. Thus, his
man-made criteria rises no higher than eyebrows - and too often, no higher
than pubic hair! Without instinct or transcendent criteria, humanism  cannot
evaluate options with foresight and vision  for progression  and survival.
Lacking foresight, man is blind to potential consequence and is unwittingly
committed to mediocrity, collectivism, averages, and regression - and worse.
Humanism is an unworthy worship.

The void of human ignorance can easily be filled with a functional faith
while not-so-patiently awaiting the foot-dragging growth of human knowledge
and behavior. Faith, initiated by the Creator and revealed and validated in
His Word, the Bible, brings a transcendent standard to man the choice-maker.
Other philosophies and religions are man-made, humanism, and thereby lack
what only the Bible has:

1.Transcendent Criteria and
2.Fulfilled Prophetic Validation.

The vision of faith in God and His Word is survival equipment for today and
the future. Only the Creator, who made us in His own image, is qualified to
define us accurately.

Human is earth's Choicemaker. Psalm 25:12 He is by nature and nature's
God a creature of Choice - and of Criteria. Psalm 119:30,173 His unique and
definitive characteristic is, and of Right ought to be, the natural
foundation of his environments, institutions, and respectful relations to
his fellow-man. Thus, he is oriented to a Freedom whose roots are in the
Order of the universe. selah

At the sub-atomic level of the physical universe quantum physics indicates a
multifarious gap or division in the causal chain; particles to which
position cannot be assigned at all times, systems that pass from one energy
state to another without manifestation in intermediate states, entities
without mass, fields whose substance is as insubstantial as "a probability."

Only statistical conglomerates pay tribute to deterministic forces.
Singularities do not and are therefore random, unpredictable, mutant, and in
this sense, uncaused. The finest contribution inanimate reality is capable
of making toward choice, without its own selective agencies, is this
continuing manifestation of opportunity as the pre-condition to choice it
defers to the natural action of living forms.

Biological science affirms that each level of life, single-cell to man
himself, possesses attributes of sensitivity, discrimination, and
selectivity, and in the exclusive and unique nature of each diversified life
form.

The survival and progression of life forms has all too often been dependent
upon the ever-present undeterminative potential and appearance of one unique
individual organism within the whole spectrum of a given life-form. Only the
uniquely equipped individual organism is, like The Golden Wedge of Ophir,
capable of traversing the causal gap to survival and progression. Mere
reproductive determinacy would have rendered life forms incapable of such
potential.

Only a moving universe of opportunity plus choice enables the present
reality.
Each individual human being possesses a unique, highly developed, and
sensitive perception of variety. Thus aware, man is endowed with a natural
capability for enacting internal mental and external physical selectivity.
Quantitative and qualitative choice-making thus lends itself as the superior
basis of an active intelligence.

Human is earth's Choicemaker. His title describes his definitive and
typifying characteristic. Recall that his other features are but vehicles of
experience intent on the development of perceptive awareness and the
following acts of decision and choice. Note that the products of man cannot
define him for they are the fruit of the discerning choicemaking process and
include the cognition of self, the utility of experience, the development of
value  measuring systems and language, and the acculturation of
civilization.

The arts and the sciences of man, as with his habits, customs, and
traditions, are the creative harvest of his perceptive and selective powers.
Creativity, the creative process,  is a choice-making process. His articles,
constructs, and commodities, however marvelous to behold, deserve neither
awe nor idolatry,
for man, not his contrivance, is earth's own highest
expression of the creative process.
Human is earth's Choicemaker. The sublime and significant act of choosing
is, itself, the Archimedean fulcrum upon which man levers and redirects the
forces of cause and effect to an elected level of quality and diversity.
Further, it orients him toward a natural environmental opportunity, freedom,
and bestows earth's paradigm title, The Choicemaker, on his singular and
plural brow.

In the Bible, God's Word has accurately defined the human being as
'the earth creature endowed with the ability to choose.' His natural Rights,
therefore, are merely an extension and application of natural human
endowments, which all humans - everywhere in the world - possess.

Even as goldfish, canaries, and puppy dogs require an environment
based on their natural features, so humans require external freedom
to fulfill their natural internal abilities of decision, choice, selection,
election, and consent. Uniquely, America was founded on this definitive
paradigm in human nature. All nations should reject foundational human
opinion that teaches otherwise.

Deterministic systems, ideological symbols of abdication by man from his
natural role as earth's Choicemaker, inevitably degenerate into
collectivism; the negation of singularity, they become a conglomerate
plural-based system of measuring human value. Blunting an awareness of
diversity, blurring alternatives, and limiting the selective creative
process, they are self-relegated to a passive and circular
regression.
Tampering with man's selective nature endangers his survival for it would
render him impotent and obsolete by denying the tools of variety,
individuality, perception, criteria, selectivity, and progress. Coercive
attempts produce revulsion, for such acts are
contrary to an indeterminate
nature and nature's indeterminate off-spring, man the Choicemaker.

Until the oppressors discover that wisdom only just begins with a respectful
acknowledgment of The Creator, The Creation, and The Choicemaker, they will
be ever learning but never coming to a knowledge of the truth. The rejection of
Creator-initiated standards relegates  the mind of man to its own primitive,
empirical, and delimited devices. It is thus that the human intellect cannot
ascend and function at any level higher than the criteria by which it
perceives and measures values.

Additionally, such rejection of transcendent criteria self-denies man the
vision and foresight essential to decision-making for survival and
progression. He is left, instead, with the redundant wreckage of expensive
hind  sight, including human institutions characterized by averages,
mediocrity, and regression.
Humanism, mired in the circular and mundane egocentric predicament, is
ill-equipped to produce transcendent criteria. Evidenced by those who do not
perceive superiority and thus find themselves beset by the shifting winds of
the carnal-ego; i.e., moods, feelings, desires, appetites, etc., the mind
becomes subordinate: a mere device for excuse-making and rationalizing
self-justification.

The carnal-ego rejects criteria and self-discipline for such instruments are
tools of the mind and the attitude. The appetites of the flesh have no need
of standards for at the point of contention standards are perceived as
alien,  restrictive, and inhibiting. Yet, the very survival of our physical
nature itself depends upon a maintained sovereignty of the mind and of the
spirit.

It remained, therefore, to the initiative of a personal and living Creator
to traverse the human horizon and fill the  vast void of human ignorance
with an intelligent and definitive faith. Man is thus afforded the prime
tool of the intellect - a Transcendent Standard by which he may measure
values in experience, anticipate results, and make enlightened and visionary
choices.

Only the unique and superior God-man Person can deservedly displace the
ego-person from his predicament and free the individual to measure values
and choose in a more excellent way. That sublime Person was indicated in the
words of the prophet Amos, "...said the Lord, Behold,

I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel." Y'shua Mashiyach
Jesus said,  "If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto myself."

As long as some choose to abdicate their personal reality and submit to the
delusions of humanism, determinism, and collectivism, just so long will they
be subject and re-acting only, to be tossed by every impulse emanating from
others. Those who abdicate such reality may, in perfect  justice, find
themselves weighed in the balances of their own choosing.

That human institution which is structured on the principle, "...all men are
endowed by their Creator with...Liberty...," is a system with its roots in
the natural Order of the universe. The opponents of such a system are
necessarily engaged in a losing contest with nature and  nature's God.
Biblical principles are still today the foundation under Western
Civilization and the American way of life. To the advent of a new season we
commend the present generation and the "multitudes in the valley of
decision."

Let us proclaim it. Behold!
The Season of Generation-Choicemaker

CONTEMPORARY COMMENTS
"I should think that if there is one thing that man has learned about
himself it is that he is a creature of choice." Richard M. Weaver

"Man is a being capable of subduing his emotions and impulses; he can
rationalize his behavior. He arranges his wishes into a scale, he chooses;
in short, he acts. What distinguishes man from beasts is precisely that he
adjusts his behavior deliberately." Ludwig von Mises

"To make any sense of the idea of morality, it must be presumed that the
human being is responsible for his actions and responsibility cannot be
understood apart from the presumption of freedom of choice."  John
Chamberlain

"The advocate of liberty believes that it is complementary of the orderly
laws of cause and  effect, of probability and of chance, of which man is not
completely informed. It is complementary of them because it rests in part
upon the faith that each individual is endowed by his Creator with the power
of individual choice." Wendell J. Brown

"These examples demonstrate a basic truth -- that human dignity is embodied
in the free choice of individuals."  Condoleeza Rice

"Our Founding Fathers believed that we live in an ordered universe. They
believed themselves to be a part of the universal order of things. Stated
another way, they believed in God. They believed that every man must find
his own place in a world where a place has been made for him. They sought
independence for their nation but, more importantly, they sought freedom for
individuals to think and act for themselves. They established a republic
dedicated to one purpose above all others - the preservation of individual
liberty..."  Ralph W. Husted

"We have the gift of an inner liberty so far-reaching that we can choose
either to accept or reject the God who gave it to us, and it would seem to
follow that the Author of a liberty so radical wills that we should be
equally free in our relationships with other men.  Spiritual liberty
logically demands conditions of outer and social freedom for its
completion." Edmund A. Opitz

"Above all I see an ability to choose the better from the worse that has
made possible life's progress."  Charles Lindbergh

"Freedom is the Right to Choose, the Right to create for oneself the
alternatives of Choice. Without the possibility of Choice, and the exercise
of Choice, a man is not a man but a member, an instrument, a thing." Thomas
Jefferson

This subject:  'Out of fellowship' is another very important subject for me, and after learning it about 12 years ago from another Vietnam Vet who was working just ahead of me on the Chrysler assembly line [bolting on the intake manifold- at that time] in Kenosha, WI., Robby Bohnen, Captain- SF [Green Beret- 3 tours in RVN-- compared to my 2 tours in helicopter aviation- door gunner].  Robb handed me an audio tape of Charles F. Stanley-- about being 'Born Again' - the Holy Spirit, etc., that really opened my eyes for the first time in greater understanding of God's purpose concerning His love of those who confess His Son, Jesus...  God has put 'key people' in my life at 'key points' --to turn me around and bring me to an accurate,  specific knowledge of Biblical Truth and understanding... PTL!  These good Christian soldiers are dear and special to me.  I will never let them down, abandon them, allow hurt or disaster to befall them, as far as I humanly can-- and laying down my life for them anytime, anywhere would be a fine thing for me.  Death is NOTHING more than a gateway to everlasting life with God--heaven [or hell if we are unbelievers, too proud or arrogant to bend knee to Jesus and follow Him- obey], and surprisingly too many Christians cannot understand this concept... and perhaps they are CHINO's [Christians in name only], but certainly, unread, un-learned and ignorant....  sorry.  May the Lord bring them to the truth and enlighten them, I pray.

So many folks worry [as I did] until their guts bleed and hurt about "what if, this, that, or the other thing" about the Love of God, heaven, hell, salvation and damnation, etc., and ME INCLUDED, until I finally learned the absolute TRUTH of God's Word, the Bible-- forgiveness and salvation!  The servants of the Lord sleep so well at night with the peace of mind and understanding-- that they ARE doing what God commands-- namely sharing the blessed Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  They study hard and fill their heads daily with God's Word, so that the Holy Spirit can tap that accurate knowledge and use it to REACH, PREACH, TEACH, SHARE, and lead others to the Lord, and get SAVED!  This is our most important, sacred command from Christ, right behind giving glory to God and magnifying His name!  Go for it!  Just Do it!  I just gave you the formula-- the equation:  "STUDY THE BIBLE DAILY", get with a Bible teaching church, listen, learn, apply, take ACTION,  and then help share the Gospel!!  Is that simple enough, or what?  It's all about the Holy Spirit 'empowering you' with the right words to say, at the right time, and trusting in Him!

Anyone who knows Tom Schuckman, understands that he is not a saint, but a sinner man, but zealous for God and the Bible, FORGIVEN [PTL] and repentant.  And I do NOT cherry pick all the so-called "negative things" of the Bible, 'end of the world' stuff, although we are living in the last days of this satanic, wicked system of things before the Rapture and Great Tribulation-- and people need to know this and be warned so they an prepare and take action NOW.  "Why polish the brass on a sinking ship" -- you have all heard me say, multiple times.  If all we do is sit like a bump on a log Sunday mornings at church and then never crack the Bible, what good are we?  And if you don't have a strong love for the Bible-- why in the heck are you wasting your time reading this Blog???  Why don't you just party on, and live for self, the world and all it's earthly pleasures and self gratification, riches, drugs and immorality???

I visited a different church yesterday [Grace Church, in Racine, WI... used to be called:  "Grace German Baptist church"--back in the mid-1800's] and really enjoyed myself. Many nice, friendly people shook my hand, I loved the great music and all the fine, kind people who made me feel at home and even prayed over/ with me-- for my problems, pains, and challenges!  But my home church is in my own one-horse town of U.G., 4400 population, and they care for me there, need me, and desire my presence  too.

Well, I just found out that I will NOT have that colonostrophy-- G.I. track thingy [sp? -- sorry, my spell check isn't working... lol] procedure tomorrow, so I'm off the hook-- just a doctor consultation.   Woo Woo!  I am always on my best behavior, on guard when I go to the hospital-- from years of experience, but also have panic attacks that I keep inside secretly, and hate hospitals, where a man can go in healthy and come out with a death dealing infection --[like the death dealing virus/ infection that I "caught" when I had my recent knee replacement surgery-- Left knee, 3 months ago-- and they wondered why I had an attitude!!]  I fired one short little abusive, belligerent "doctor" who was from Romania...Ha!   I have a few phobias but I choose to deal with them on my own, suck 'em up, and just do what I have to.  I just explained to a dear friend, one of the reasons why I have phobias, fears, dislike, hatred of hospitals because of something that happened to one of my buddies in Vietnam, at Long Binh hospital in 3rd Corps, RVN, 40 years ago, but forever stuck in my brain, along with a very healthy dose of PTSD [combat Post Traumatic Stress disorder].  It's kind of like cancer or diabetes...  you cannot cure it, but you can learn to live with it.  And that is my goal-- this side of heaven. And I have also learned tons from direct experience that so-called 'medical people, docs and nurses lie all the time!!  Many don't wash their hands and their long finger nails carry deadly disease and spread sickness!  I don't expect things to get better either in this bummed out, starving economy... Thanks, Mr. O, for all the broken promises and Socialist lies.

I feel that I am better 'adjusted', settled down, at peace with myself after much prayer last night before bed, and so thankful for the mercy, kindness and Salvation of the Lord, who heals, forgives and loves us so much.  PTL.  I am a sinner, not bragging, and need to constantly draw closer to the Lord Jesus.  He makes us strong where we are broken [in spirit too].  But this sacred principle only works IF we are willing to move our own anatomy, get with His program and mean it!  You have to work at it every day, be humble enough to read, study and follow His Word!

I am so happy and glad that I have the resources to help some others, physically, but more important spiritually... and if God wills that I never have another true relationship-- at least I can have many friends who love and respect me-- a humble farm boy, Soldier, life long worker, able to be kind, generous and helpful, cheering people up, encouraging, and loving.  The trouble is: Many people take and accept the free, easy to understand, DEFINED KJV Bibles I give them, but they never READ/ STUDY them, because they don't love and appreciate what is holy, what is commanded, requested.. they are just plain LAZY and don't give a hang!!  They remain CARNAL, irresponsible, indifferent, as in 1st Timothy Chapter 4, etc., only looking to feel their flesh with what THEY want-- not respecting the fine things that God has given them for free.  In other words, they profess a love for God, but prove false to the power of the Bible and God.  Yes, words are cheap....duh, 'Yeah, I believe in God..'  Well, devils and demons do also, and also shiver at the thought of judgment.  --Book of James 4:4, etc.
Bless all true servants of the Lord and protect them from harm and evil.

Warm Regards,
Tommy Schuckman

Road to Roman approach.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Yes!  Pure black and white-- the ONLY way to heaven is through JESUS CHRIST.  Period.  That means not thru the saints, virgin Mary, Mohammad, Krishna, Buddha, New Age- Mother Earth, the WatchTower cult or Mormonism, etc.   This message is so clear and simple that it jumps out of the Bible and bites us on the nose!  How hard is it to sit down in the peace and quiet of your own home or apartment/ bed room, and crack open that grand BOOK??  [ 2nd Timothy chapter 3, verse 16, says:  "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, of instruction in righteousness:  17. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."].   All the important scriptural evidence is listed in easy to read logical order that many mature, well rooted Christian have memorized or have written down, and I am going to make it a main priority to MEMORIZE these texts in the next few months if not sooner!

Friends,  we live in a fat, lazy, indifferent society that tells us to do what ever we want, be your own man, do your thing, put pleasure and selfishness above all else and just do it if it feels good!  One reason I liked the Army was because of the good discipline and training-- of learning a "new language" that is almost fool proof so you make few mistakes-- which can take lives.  You learn how to work and support the team and take orders without muttering a word.  It's called HONOR.  The bible and Christianity is much the same-- with a Brotherhood of Love and sacrifice and obedience to the Lord God.  We will never be perfect this side of heaven-- but I know that we all have a little slice of heaven right now on earth with our sacred brotherhood of saints, men, women and children!  It's a super good feeling to be one of them and in their company, and the most important thing in my life.

This idea transcends any Country's patriotism, loyalty to some human Gov't, organization, other human friendships and bonds.  Think!  Eternity is forever-- live on earth now is very temporary.  "Life is a vapor."  And to be a low, humble sinner, clothed in filthy rags full of abomination and disease,  God loved us first!  He wrote the book on love.

The "Road of Romans" is a way of putting some key scriptures of Salvation together in an orderly way that makes sense--makes pure logic, and helps other to understand how much God the Father loves us humans.  it is a logical progression that builds up to a peak or climax and realization that we ought/ need to be Saved, and then SHARE THIS WITH OTHER PEOPLE-- BEFORE the end.
Please take the time to cut and paste this, print it and save it until you know it perfectly.  It is one of the good ways to preach, teach, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, IMHO.

Warm Regards,
Tom

THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN
IS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST

ROMANS 3:10 As it is written,There is
none righteous,no,not one;

ROMANS 3:23-24 For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

ROMANS 5:7-8 For scarcely for a righteous
man will one die: yet peradventure for a
good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us.

ROMANS 6:23 For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

ROMANS 10:9-11 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession
is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

I would really love to discuss this subject with you and get your biblical input, please:

Q.  How can you advocate a position that does away with God’s complete sovereignty over where man spends his eternity?  What do you do with the plain language of predestination in the Bible?  “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son…”  (Romans 8:29-30). A.  I [...]
I have batted this ball around since I was young, and surprisingly, even most pastors don't take a hard stand on what's what.  'Is anything impossible with God??'   Answer:  YES!  Titus 1:2 says that "It is impossible for God to lie."  We can and certainly SHOULD get to know all about God and His personality easily enough by reading HIS Book!  Still, we will never totally understand God, our Creator/ Father-- this side of heaven.
Now,  ALL real, Christians can and need to come to a basic knowledge of the most important things in the Bible needed for Salvation.  'God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten Son....  John 3:16.'-- born of a virgin-- to fulfill Bible prophecy.  God sent his son to suffer and die on the cross as a sacrifice once and for all to save us from our sins that would other wise send us to hell.  He rose from the dead after parts of 3 days and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, and will return to claim his "bride" [all believers who confess the Lord Jesus and repent of their sins...]  in the Rapture.. soon.  He will again come back to earth with his armies and destroy the wicked at Armageddon, etc etc.

Remember, with out the help of the Holy Spirit, it's impossible to honestly understand the important parts of the Bible, IMHO.  And, 'The wisdom of the world is foolishness with God.'  --1st Cor. 3:19.
Friends,  I can't say enough and stress that my newly supplied CPAP breathing machine is doing wonders for my health and recovery!!  A simple sleep apnea test-- a sleep study over night test at a good hospital can discern whether or not you have the dangerous, deadly sleep apnea.   A pulmonologist / respiratory expert, can prescribe that needed test for you.  Many folks die of that sleep disorder every year and until just recently most of mankind and DOCTORS were woefully ignorant of this problem that causes heart attacks, falling asleep at the wheel, weight gain, poor BP, snoring, breathing, etc., and even a dismal sex life!   I was too slow and stubborn that I had to break my neck in a terrible truck accident before I woke up to get treated!  God saved me!  No one else got hurt.
I ask all my friends to continue to pray for me, that I make the correct, godly decisions in the future and never stray from my Lord.  I have been blessed lately, and saved from death most of my life-- but I am a slow learner sometimes... lol.  Pray for the peace of Israel and Jerusalem-- for God will always love the Jewish people, and we know for a fact that at least a Remnant of the Jewish people will survive and place all their faith in trust in the Lord, Messiah, Jesus Christ.
Warm Regards,
Tom
Tom, God is absolutely sovern. He says of Himself that there is none beside Him. If God were only a vengeful God, He would have no one to brag to and beside He is more powerful than anything that exist. We know that God knows the end from the beginning because we know that Christ mission on earth was established eons before man was created. God knew that Adam and Eve would fall into sin and curse all humanity and all creation. Well all of this sounds like predestination right? No. Man was created in Gods image, eternal and with free will and though I am sure  many times He would love to God never interferes with Man's free will. When Jesus said He was going to prepare a place for us, He knew and knows how many will be there but Man in the image of God has His free will. If predestination were true, then why witness? Why preach the gospel or pray for the lost? Tom many believe in predestination and have made their mind up, or have been taught that way. I wouldn't get entangled with them. Just love them in the Lord as you would those who believe that one can lose their salvation. Just don't cast your pearls before swine. No one is saved without the working of the Holy Spirit in their lives. ... Jim

It's going to be a great day.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Good Day!  I have changed over night in a sense, in that I am more settled down with a better purpose now, down to earth, balanced, IMO.    I had a nice meeting, dinner, and made a special friend yesterday, and it seems that without reaching out and helping others in the world-- I lack purpose.  Lord,  give me real constructive purpose in life, and I am a happy, productive man with a very positive, kind, helping, attitude!  And that will also go a long way to healing my body, mind and spirit!  It's when I temporarily lose my sense of direction and purpose-- do I fall into a slump of depression and fumble around trying to find my way back to the joy of serving the Lord properly.  Too, the new, upgraded CPAP breathing machine that I just got 2 days ago, has already done wonders to helping me feel much better physically, rested, and thinking more clearly!! I can't believe the 'quantum leap' I've just experienced in just 2 days!!  Sleep is SO VERY IMPORTANT because the 4th stage "REM" [rapid eye movement] sleep is when the mind 'reorganizes all the events of the day, and sorts them out and then properly stores them in special compartments.' It's also when the body cleans itself from the inside out and heals itself!  Most people know how to use a PC [computer] as a servant/ a slave to learn from and cherry pick all the latest medical knowledge and break through s.  I am a near expert at this, but God gave me these talents for a reason.  He expects me to use my "gifts" to bring glory to Him and also benefit others.  If I choose to lead a sinful, selfish lifestyle-- I "won't get back much on my 'Investment'."-- storing up treasures in heaven. Anyway... I must be careful where and how I step and not stray far from my Lord and Master.  I only know that I am more happy right now than I have been for a LONG time.  Bless my soul, dear Jesus.  Correct me in your love and not in your anger, dear Lord.  Please help me apply Proverbs 3:5, Son of heaven and Master.  Bless my efforts and make others willing to listen to the fruit-age of my lips-- the Gospel of Salvation. Put fire and zeal in the hearts of all those to whom I have handed a new KJV Bible, please, so that they crack that great BOOK open daily!  In Jesus name, I beg. Amen.

Proper rest means proper HEALING from injury and surgery, and so much more! Even my metabolism and digesting food, losing more weight will be better/ easier now!

I am on target now and fully committed to lose another 60 pounds in 90 days, the best way I know how, same as I already lost 54 pounds in the last 90 days.  I am walking more and plan to re-join a health club, like maybe the Kenosha, WI., YMCA that has excellent facilities.  And that will expedite losing even more weight and firm up the sagging tissue of losing weight, IMHO.  [here is a pic of me age age 19 in CuChi, Vietnam: 1968]

Many of my well-meaning friends are telling me to take any new relationship SLOW and EASY, and that has always been difficult for me-- good old Soldier Tom who likes to jump out of the helicopter, with M-60 in tow, and sally forth...'bull rushing' everything and everybody.. lol.  That has always netted me some trouble and heart ache...and much pain and 'resources.'  Hopefully, I have more wisdom by now, but I will have to work on self-control for ever..Ha!  The BIG "IF" is:  When 2 people have the Lord and the Bible in common-- things are bound to get off well. Without God's blessing-- we are all doomed to failure, especially relationships.  I figure that for most people, at least one hour per day of intense Bible study is just about mandatory for us to increase in knowledge of God and a close relationship with Him, and gleaning as much Holy Spirit as possible, along with intense prayer.  And I need to hold myself to that regimen too.

So, I have a different mind set now, and feel more relaxed, poised, in control and level headed.  PTL.  I don't doubt that most of my friends and readers will start to see a change in my attitude now [no matter what comes down the pike], more to the positive and less to the negative.  It's incredible what a simple hug and some kindness can do for a big, old Teddy Bear, and Soldier.  You know, friends,  "Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to it!!"  I have walked a heavy, lonely road for a long time and saddled with injury, sickness, severe loss of camaraderie,  and depression, with only a modicum of help from other so-called believers who can't spare too many minutes from their greedy, rat-race lives or chasing their own tails, instead of really relying on the Holy Spirit and Bible for direction.  I don't mean to be 'mean-spirited' or vindictive, but... what goes around --comes around.

Thank you all for all your well wishes and prayers for me, and some of my requests.  Remember that we are still living in very perilous times-- these 'last days', in the 11th hour, when anything could break loose or slide down the slippery slope into total chaos and destruction-- especially war between ISRAEL and her hateful, greedy neighbors of the Islamic world in the Middle East!  I find myself praying for Israel and Jerusalem more and more, for they are the "APPLE OF GOD'S EYE"...  still loved and protected my Almighty God-- see Genesis 12:3, etc.  America's future and fate are closely tied to that of Israel, believe it or not.  But you will never know or understand these things if you don't study your Bible!!  And we will never know too much or be "too smart" regarding the Bible!

A very fruitful day.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Hurray!  PTL.  I have reason to be happy today.  Yesterday I got a new, updated CPAP breathing machine to help me breath better at night when I sleep, and it works so much better!!  Good "proper" restful, REM type sleep is key to all healing and health, and I have been deprived of it for a long time!  Now my healing, etc., will be accelerated and I will be more alert!  I count it as a small 'miracle.'  And I gave a detailed Christian witness to the specialist who came over and explained/ set up the new, sophisticated, self regulating, machine for me.  It was a fruitful event-- and the machine did not cost me a dime-- good Chrysler health insurance covers it all.  Praise the Lord.

I am also going to meet a new lady today, and pray that I can take things slow and easy so as not to jump into things too fast, but just have a good time and she is a Bible student too.   So things are looking better for me today, and I will have to go to the new North Chicago VA hospital tomorrow for more tests, etc., for arthritis, etc.  In the meantime, the world continues to spin with every conceivable unrest, violence and wickedness imaginable.  Now wonder so many people choose to drink and take drugs to ESCAPE reality...Ha!   "Winter is knocking on the door in many respects..."  Per my own adventure/ life, perhaps things are looking my way-- and the Lord is answering some of my prayers and anxieties.  The Father smiles upon his simple servant-- Old Soldier Tom.

I just get a kick when I can help other people in one way or another, and I have the feeling that I am fulfilling God's purpose for putting me on earth.  We simply CANNOT 'earn' our way into heaven like many false religions teach-- but by being a good Christian, it's our JOB to first magnify and bring glory to God, and then to emulate our Savior Jesus Christ and show love for our fellow man-- by sharing the Gospel to them.  What could be better??  "We received free-- so we can and should GIVE free."

I am going to count all my blessings today and try to smile more.  Got to buy more dog food for 'Deuce' too $$$.

My good friend, Bill Tippett is better and out of the woods for a while-- thanks for the prayers.

Warm Regards,
Tom

Here are the notes from the podcast. In these notes I confront Arianism, but I'm still planning on making episodes that witness to and confront the heresies of Modalism, Socinianism, and Universalism. http://www.facebook.com/l/kAQC0DAROAQA423GFvTrlXME5JNx7v_9kTYo4VDM_V83ksA/www.scribd.com/fullscreen/22522783?access_key=key-10kyre027zg0ljnjhre9

I hope that I am not doing wrong  by 'borrowing' something really good and wholesome like this short video from a fellow Christian on FB, and U-tube.  This is so direct, to the point, and logical, IMHO.

I want to share some personal thought with you folks today, my friends and readers, if I may.  You all know that I am still fighting loneliness and depression from the loss of 2 very loved ones who passed since April 9th, plus more knee surgery, and things are healing and getting a bit better-- I am NOT crying in my beer.  My mindset and strategy mostly come from the Bible, PTL [praise the Lord], and I am now planting the message/ imbedding it into my mind and heart, that:  'the general consensus both biblically, and with the 'body of born again Christians around the world-- that the rapture COULD come soon!'  Especially now with the latest hostilities of the PLO- so-called 'Palestinian leaders' and Arab world who want to push Israel off the map and annihilate them!!   WAKE UP!  They don't want any kind of peace and never did!  They are at the UN now trying to push their wicked agenda, and Obama is caught between a rock and a hard place.
This really concerns the entire world of mankind right now!  And "Israel IS the center of the world."

I just feel that now is the time to really be prepared for ANYTHING coming down the pike at any time!  The Bible clearly states that war will have to come for the State of Israel to defend itself-- and when that day does come, it will affect the entire world, including the USA.  As if we didn't have 'enough fish to fry' right now with our economic melt down and worse.  We are tanking, IMO, because we [collectively as a nation] are disrespecting, hurting, and throwing God's own people, ISRAEL, under the bus!!  See:  Genesis 12:3... repeat- repeat!   And yes, I am excited.  Talk about a 'soldier getting ready to go to war...!'  Anyone who has read my blog in the last few years knows how I feel about the sacred promises of God Almighty, concerning the salvation through Jesus Christ alone, the soon coming rapture.

Now... even a rat knows enough to abandon a sinking ship-- and why polish the brass when the ship is going down.  I don't think, at least in my own personal life/ time frame, that sallying forth on a strange path or fork in the road is the right thing to do right now [we could have a totally NEW currency soon!] -- although I admit that I am too lonely and vulnerable right now, living all alone with my faithful hound dog, Deuce, the Rottweiler.  I get encouragement from regular church meetings and fellowship, but I am a gregarious, friendly, social guy -- kind, loving and a bit too emotional lately, and just feel the 'need' for Christian female companionship.  I don't think I am totally washed up at age 62, and have adequate income to pay the bills, etc, having worked all my live long days, and I am not ugly.... lol.  I am on track for joining a health club again soon and losing another 60 pounds-- I already lost 54, and feel better, with less weight on my arthritic joints, etc.  PTL.  It will also help me breath better when sleeping with my CPAP machine.

So that is my personal dilemma, and I pray constantly to do the correct thing and keep my nose clean and not to sin.  At least my bionic knees are starting to heal now after the June 14th replacement operation in Kenosha, WI., but there is really no one to look in on me or comfort me-- and that is starting to get old... short of my cleaning lady... bless her pea-pickin' heart.

Please pray for the welfare of my special friends, Joe vanden Mullen with his eye surgery, and Bill Tippett, with his heart condition- and possible surgery, etc., my dear old Mom who might be moving soon because the Gov't subsidized assisted living apartment in Burlington, WI will NOT enforce it's own NO SMOKING rules so that other nasty, selfish people there smoke against the rules and it circulates and hurts my Mom's health as she is legally blind and age 85!!  She doesn't want me to get involved- as she is afraid of retaliation with threats already for JUST, ONLY seeking her RIGHTS, but I know that the pen is mightier than the sword, and I used to get published in the local news papers in the past.

It's a beautiful Fall day in S.E. Wisconsin with the sun out, and I just might grill a T-bone steak in the back yard, and let the dog get his running time in.  God bless and strengthen all Believers and servants of Jesus Christ.

Christian Love,
