God's Sovereignty.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

I would really love to discuss this subject with you and get your biblical input, please:

Q.  How can you advocate a position that does away with God’s complete sovereignty over where man spends his eternity?  What do you do with the plain language of predestination in the Bible?  “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son…”  (Romans 8:29-30). A.  I [...]
I have batted this ball around since I was young, and surprisingly, even most pastors don't take a hard stand on what's what.  'Is anything impossible with God??'   Answer:  YES!  Titus 1:2 says that "It is impossible for God to lie."  We can and certainly SHOULD get to know all about God and His personality easily enough by reading HIS Book!  Still, we will never totally understand God, our Creator/ Father-- this side of heaven.
Now,  ALL real, Christians can and need to come to a basic knowledge of the most important things in the Bible needed for Salvation.  'God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten Son....  John 3:16.'-- born of a virgin-- to fulfill Bible prophecy.  God sent his son to suffer and die on the cross as a sacrifice once and for all to save us from our sins that would other wise send us to hell.  He rose from the dead after parts of 3 days and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, and will return to claim his "bride" [all believers who confess the Lord Jesus and repent of their sins...]  in the Rapture.. soon.  He will again come back to earth with his armies and destroy the wicked at Armageddon, etc etc.

Remember, with out the help of the Holy Spirit, it's impossible to honestly understand the important parts of the Bible, IMHO.  And, 'The wisdom of the world is foolishness with God.'  --1st Cor. 3:19.
Friends,  I can't say enough and stress that my newly supplied CPAP breathing machine is doing wonders for my health and recovery!!  A simple sleep apnea test-- a sleep study over night test at a good hospital can discern whether or not you have the dangerous, deadly sleep apnea.   A pulmonologist / respiratory expert, can prescribe that needed test for you.  Many folks die of that sleep disorder every year and until just recently most of mankind and DOCTORS were woefully ignorant of this problem that causes heart attacks, falling asleep at the wheel, weight gain, poor BP, snoring, breathing, etc., and even a dismal sex life!   I was too slow and stubborn that I had to break my neck in a terrible truck accident before I woke up to get treated!  God saved me!  No one else got hurt.
I ask all my friends to continue to pray for me, that I make the correct, godly decisions in the future and never stray from my Lord.  I have been blessed lately, and saved from death most of my life-- but I am a slow learner sometimes... lol.  Pray for the peace of Israel and Jerusalem-- for God will always love the Jewish people, and we know for a fact that at least a Remnant of the Jewish people will survive and place all their faith in trust in the Lord, Messiah, Jesus Christ.
Warm Regards,
Tom
Tom, God is absolutely sovern. He says of Himself that there is none beside Him. If God were only a vengeful God, He would have no one to brag to and beside He is more powerful than anything that exist. We know that God knows the end from the beginning because we know that Christ mission on earth was established eons before man was created. God knew that Adam and Eve would fall into sin and curse all humanity and all creation. Well all of this sounds like predestination right? No. Man was created in Gods image, eternal and with free will and though I am sure  many times He would love to God never interferes with Man's free will. When Jesus said He was going to prepare a place for us, He knew and knows how many will be there but Man in the image of God has His free will. If predestination were true, then why witness? Why preach the gospel or pray for the lost? Tom many believe in predestination and have made their mind up, or have been taught that way. I wouldn't get entangled with them. Just love them in the Lord as you would those who believe that one can lose their salvation. Just don't cast your pearls before swine. No one is saved without the working of the Holy Spirit in their lives. ... Jim
