A Civilized Act.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Hello Folks!  Ahhhh, the middle of the week [hump-day!], but I am 'gainfully retired' so all the days kind of merge together for me, blessed in many ways.  If only we could retire with a HEALTHY, SOUND, PAINLESS BODY...lol, that would be so nice and special!
I remember vividly, all the days working for the most part, at AMC [American Motors Corp.], bought out by a bigger fish, Chrysler, welding auto components for the first 17.3 years, and then transferring to the "Motor Division" for the rest of my '30.5 year tour.'  And being laid off for 6 long, stressful years, going back to college [ a wish come true] and learning a good trade of welding, etc. [and writing, blogging, journaling], and then being called back in May of '95.  I had so many good, respectable friends, men and women, and still do, from that era.  I had a long, super active, interesting life, raising our 3 fine children and enjoying my little place in the sun.. retiring with full benefits at age 54, in Kenosha, WI., down by beautiful Lake Michigan!
I picked up osteo arthritis the last 7 years working at Chrysler, and that was a huge load to carry, but somehow I managed, thinking to myself: "This is a do-- or die situation" and you JUST DON'T DROP THAT BALL WHEN YOU ARE SO CLOSE TO YOUR REALIZED GOAL OF RETIREMENT!!

And you just have to deal with failure, mishaps, accidents, stress, depression, death in the family, and learn how to 'move on'--living by a good philosophy/ or code-- like God's Word, the KJV BIBLE.  Yes,  bad things happened even to good, god-like people/ Christians, BUT following Christ minimizes the false, wrong steps leading to a life filled with sorrow, or an early death.  We can both have a "Good Life" --Live Simple-- Live Well" -- or we can follow our flesh and party with the devil.  Take you pick!  I have already tried the WRONG path, and know that death, hurt and hell are the sum total product...  so now, older and wiser, I choose to pick Father God, and His Son, Jesus Christ as my leader, my personal Lord and Savior!    This is not some theory -- but a proven fact, especially when you read wise, old King Solomon's Ecclesiastes.  'You've tried the rest -- now get the Best!'  Even if a person's life was nothing but torment, pain, persecution and abstract poverty -- the reward of everlasting life in HEAVEN, would pan out to be worth every ounce of suffering on earth!   What is:  70-99 years of life on earth compared to ALL ETERNITY IN HEAVEN WITH GOD and other faithful beings who love and honor the Lord Jesus?

I was just sharing some thoughts with the pastor of Family Baptist church [a few minutes ago] where I attend, and he thinks that it's possible that a sharp division between the illegal 'Executive Orders' --going around the Congress and our US Constitution COULD SPARK A CIVIL WAR IN OUR ONCE GREAT COUNTRY, especially over the well stated, plainly understood 1st and 2nd Amendments [soon enough] !!!  Many good people would suffer because of the selfish ambitions of one man in the WH and his goofy followers!!  [and BOTH political parties are CORRUPT, selfish and greedy].  BUT... it could also start a "National Revival" drawing many Americans BACK TO THE GOD OF THE BIBLE !!  Wow!  I didn't agree with him at first -- but I guess that could happen now, and God could 'fill his quota' of the correct number of Gentiles needed to sound the trumpets of the Rapture!   Only God knows.  I hate war, and I kind of fear a civil war where many would get killed, injured, displaced, suffer, starve, etc.,  but if it be God's Will...  so be it.  I am disabled, so I don't know where I will fit in -- but I take the side of our Founding Fathers who wrote and supported our US Constitution, and our precious FREEDOMS are so important and worth fighting for, IMHO.   Time will tell, friends.

With all my extensive reading, studying, history back ground, knowledge of under ground Christians in China and Islamic countries, I KNOW that serving the Lord and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ would be much easier in a FREE COUNTRY, than in a dictatorship where there is NO PROTECTION against a tyrant in the WH, with no arms to protect ourselves... NO 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS!   That is something worth fighting for, and so many true combat Veterans didn't shed blood and die so some Socialist in the WH could run over us with his Leftest, selfish ideas on a ONE WORLD GOV'T....  although that will come later [according to the Bible]..  do you want chapter and verse???

I, and my brethren are:  Praying for Peace and Security, Freedom and Liberty -- but we are also Preparing for the worst.  I humbly suggest that YOU friends and readers are too.  I also think that the Tea Party Patriots are on the right Constitutional track.

Warm Regards,
Tom Schuckman

Thank you President Obama and Vice President Biden ! Thanks to you more American civilians are now armed than ever before and the N.R.A.’s money chest is overflowing . If you think you’ll be taking those weapons back , think again .

Subject: Carrying a gun is a civilized act!
Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force.
If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing
me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force.
Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without
exception.

Reason or force, that's it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through
persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction and the
only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm,
as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use
reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment
of force.

The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on
equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a
19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of
drunken guys with baseball bats.

The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a
potential attacker and a defender.

There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad
force equations. These are the people who think that we'd be more civilized if all guns were
removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a [armed]
mugger to do his job. That, of course, is only true if the mugger's potential
victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat--it has
no validity when most of a mugger's potential marks are armed.

People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young,
the strong, and the many, and that's the exact opposite of a civilized
society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in
a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

Then there's the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal
that otherwise would only result in injury. This argument is fallacious in several ways.
Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior
party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.

People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don't constitute
lethal force, watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a
bloody lip at worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely
in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.

The gun is the only weapon that's as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as
it is in the hands of a weight lifter. It simply wouldn't work as well as a
force equalizer if it wasn't both lethal and easily employable.

When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because
I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be
forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it
enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would
interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so
by force. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a
gun is a civilized act.
If you agree, send it on..if not let me know your argument!
