Christians in the Army-- No talking about your Faith.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

In the past, I have always recommended that 'new Christians' start studying the Bible with the Book of John... and then Romans, to give them a good background of the Gospel and Salvation.  The Following is some "back up."

I prefer the "Old Scofield Study System KJV Bible" given to me by a friend.  But most Americans have a challenge with the 1611 KJV Bible's thee's and thou's, Old English style, and archaic terminology... and many times JUST REGULAR ENGLISH ALONE!!  Bad schools in America....grrrrr.  So then we can buy an inexpensive DEFINED KJV Bible, which I also like very much!  See:  biblefortoday.org    -- for the new Believer!    You won't be sorry, ever !  It's not the 'Bible' that is set/ written on a 5th grade level -- but ENGLISH [which many young people never learned properly...sorry.].

A Beginner’s Bible Study

Q. I was so thrilled that my roommate came to church with me on Easter Sunday. She isn’t walking with the Lord, although she calls herself a Christian. Afterward she expressed to me that something is missing in her life and that she feels broken.
She had some bad church experiences and Bible study experiences in the past. Even so, I thought it might be a neat idea to do a Bible study with her. It might be a good bonding thing for us, and she would feel more comfortable studying the Word with just me, and I know we would both learn. Do you know of a good study for a baby believer we could do together?

A. I always recommend starting with the Gospel of John. It was written for the Church. Get a good study Bible with notes about the verses. Then start reading the verses and discussing the notes with each other. Staying focused on the text and notes will help you avoid dredging up any unpleasant memories from her past and let her see that studying the Bible together can be a positive and rewarding experience. Peter called this “growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ(2 Peter 3:18).

Hi Friends,
I was giving counsel against joining the Armed Forces to a brother at church 6 years ago, because I knew that someday that person MIGHT be asked to shoot his fellow Americans someday, but he did not take my advice!  I don't 'judge' him nor others, but people must realize that they will someday be asked to do something that will cause a 'crisis of conscience' later on in life, unless the Rapture comes before then.

Serving in the Army brings many "GOOD TIMES" back to me and others.  We were young and perhaps a bit foolish, back in 1967, and if we didn't already have a good job or college-- the thoughts of high adventure, and learning a skill for life seemed like a good idea, at the time... LOL.  Now, looking back, I wonder if we would have joined up if the Service meant getting trapped in the shower by a bunch of homosexual perverts carrying AIDS and other goodies.  The Bible is very clear about just "who"  'the god of this world is!!'  And it seems like obama doesn't trust the Marines, either.

I know for a fact that some Vietnamese would have loved to ride a "Freedom Bird"  back to the States with their families to have a shot at real freedom, and a home/ and a  business.  Now days, many Islamists  from the Middle East  come here to blow us up !!    That is my own, private opinion, and you can call me what ever  you like.  I figure that I still have the Freedom of Speech, so I am going to have my say now -- before the Socialist take that away too!    People talk in the TPP's org., about the "NEXT ELECTION" and getting a new, fresh, dynamic Leader.  But I am thinking and wondering if we can even survive the next 90 days before we go belly up in the next financial crises, and we implode with all our tremendous DEBT !!  High debt gives me a terrible stomach ache and drives my BP up, and is somewhat responsible for my new CHF problem!   I know that financial STRESS can and will KILL a person.

Yes!  The Gov't doesn't have to worry how they are going to settle us into FEMA camps and kill us....  because the IRS is already doing a great job of killing  us!
Now that our brave troops are coming home to meet and settle down again with their families, the Gov't also knows that they will need help and cost a lot of well deserved tax dollars.  But I am sure that obama will figure out some ways to evade that 'patriotic chore' -- the same as WE Vietnam Vets got the dirty end of the stick too, when we came home, from an unpopular war.  It took the gov't so many YEARS to cave on the Agent Orange issue, thank you very much!!  My advice to our "new", younger troops:  Get as many of your BENEFITS as you possibly can!!  Rather than give the money to YOU,  obama would much rather give it to illegal aliens who swarm our Southern border, and Middle East Islamic enemies who HATE US !

And if you were just feeling nice and comfortable in y our EZ chair at home,  see how much the Gov't loves Christians in the Army!!

People who think that they can just waltz in this web site without printing their real name, need not apply.  "Anonymous", is not a name!

Warm Regards,

Dear Linda,
The very troops who defend our religious freedom are at risk of having their own taken away.
Last week, anti-Christian and left-wing activists met at the Pentagon with military officials to discuss pressing issues in the military. What issues would be of such importance to gain such a high-level hearing?
According to these far-left consultants, religion is one of the chief problems plaguing our troops. As the Washington Post reported, some are saying that "religious proselytizing" is at the top of the list of problems in the armed forces -- even on par with sexual assault.
As a result of such complaints from the left, the Air Force has -- according to the Post --published, but not yet distributed a new document with the directive that leaders of all levels (including chaplains) may not "promote their personal religious beliefs to their subordinates or to extend preferential treatment for any religion." The penalty these secularists are seeking for those who don't comply with their view of religious speech is court-martial.
If this policy goes forward, Christians within the military who speak of their faith could now be prosecuted as enemies of the state. This has the potential to destroy military recruiting across the services as Americans realize that their faith will be suppressed by joining the military.
Our brave troops deserve better. If chaplains and other personnel are censored from offering the full solace of the Gospel, there is no religious freedom in the military.
Please join me in signing the petition to Secretary Hagel urging him to protect the religious freedom of our troops - and not to proceed with the purge of religion within the ranks called for by anti-Christian activists.
Sincerely,

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William "Jerry" Boykin
Executive Vice President
