Good Grief !

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Friends,
I kind of figure, with all due respect, that my Blog is not that type or style that most younger folks want to spend their time reading...  Ha!  For one thing, it's not entertaining enough, nor sexy, showy, Holly Wood driven,  etc.
BUT,   I do get many nice, glowing reviews and positive comments from mid -to older folks, 40's, 50's and up to my old age of 63, and many combat Veterans, whom I try to help and disseminate helpful info, on how to deal [survive, cope with] the Gov't and VA system.   In fact, I, and many other Vietnam Vets and younger genre Vets, were chased away from their RIGHTFUL DUE, Contractual Agreements with the Military, who would rather "save the money" and give it to 'endowment' causes, like:  free food, shelter, medicine, and free schooling for ILLEGAL ALIENS !! !! !!   And we can start with the 'occupant of the WH'...  LOL.   Yes!  It would be funny if it were not true....   sorry. [NOT].

For the newer, and younger folks that know not the Scriptures...  WELCOME!   I deal with 'pure logic' a lot of the time, just leaving the KJV Bible on the desk, unopened.   Just look at the tense world situation for a minute, readers, and Followers.   This is not a fist fight anymore, guys;  these power States are playing with nukes now ! ! !  Wow!   I am not  "Chicken Little" but there is even a chance that we could be without power in our houses for a while....  if TSHTF...    if a uneducated 'occupier of the WH' makes the wrong move, who can tell what the Russian Republic might do.  And what IF they decide to use a "heavy hand on SA" [Saudi Arabia], etc, like they promised ??  Guess where we get much of our OIL ?  Yes!  that would hurt US.

While the so-called "News Media" has all of this on the back burner, Satan keeps the rest of us hopping around like a cat on a hot tin roof, just trying to survive.   People struggle to pay down their CC debt and taxes at the same time, with many who don't have health care....  ahem,   I couldn't even dream of that, personally.  Disabled Vet, and retired, 30.5 year AMC/ Chrysler worker/ welder, etc.   We are "Supermen" when we are age 21, and half dead at age 65 !   Some of it is genetic, but much of it is from eating processed, polluted food and water, IMHO.

"As for me and my house hold, we shall serve the Lord."  ~Joshua

Warm Regards,
Tom Schuckman

>>>  Here is an old Marine, Vietnam wounded Vet, Marvin Ellis, also a guitar player, welder, Chrysler worker, and also went to the same, Victory Baptist church with me, a few years ago.   I try calling him, but I know that he is very sick, and short of breath too.  We also have in common, besides all the above mentioned, a pure love for God and the Bible, MOTORCYCLES, and carpentry/ wood working !   I just happen to have a good handful of OTHER close friends like Marvin ! !  PTL... >>>

Tel Aviv

Shalom Thomas,

Here are the top news stories from our Jerusalem Ministry Office.

Syria Threatens to Attack Israel

“For three sins of Damascus, even for four, I will not relent.... I will break down the gate of Damascus.”  (Amos 1:3, 5)

A top Syrian official, Halef al-Muftah, threatened this week to attack Israel if the United States strikes Syria for its alleged use of chemical weapons against Syrian civilians in a Damascus suburb.

chemical weapons.  (YouTube capture)

As the international drums of war beat, al-Muftah said Israel was "behind the aggression."  (YNet)

"We have strategic weapons and we can retaliate.  Essentially, the strategic weapons are aimed at Israel," he said.

"If the US or Israel err through aggression and exploit the chemical issue, the region will go up in endless flames, affecting not only the area's security, but the world's," he said on Monday.

Yesterday, a senior Syrian army source confirmed Syria's intentions:  “If Damascus comes under attack, Tel Aviv will be targeted too and a full-scale war against Syria will actually issue a license for attacking Israel.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to saying, “We are not part of the civil war in Syria, but if we identify any attempt whatsoever to harm us, we will respond and we will respond with strength."

A United Nations team is currently in Damascus investigating if weapons of mass destruction were used last week to kill at least 350 Syrians, with more than 3,500 others showing signs of "neurotoxic symptoms."

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF/ Doctors Without Borders) took part in treating casualties of the mass poisoning at field hospitals in the area, which were "overwhelmed with civilians that were suffering from a range of symptoms including nausea, suffocation, foaming at the mouth and dilated pupils," said Human Rights Watch spokesperson Lama Fakih.  (CBN)

Syria is thought to have one of the world's largest arsenals of chemical and biological weapons, and the civil war has caused international concern that those weapons of mass destruction (WMD) will fall into the hands of extremists who will not hesitate to use them.

While rebel fighters and the Syrian regime are trading blame for the chemical attack, the UN team will likely not be able to determine who used them, but only if they were used.

Because the UN team, led by Swedish scientist Dr. Ake Sellstrom (above),
was hit by sniper fire this week, destroying their vehicle, their assessment
of the situation has been delayed until today.

As civil war has continued to rage in Syria, the numbers of casualties have mounted to as many as 100,000, including more than 7,000 children.  (United Nations)

Communities are being crushed and now lay in ruins.

Approximately two million have fled Syria and four million more are displaced.

There is also extensive damage to Syria's capital of Damascus, the world's longest continuously inhabited city.

The streets of Damascus in happier times.

According to the Hebrew prophet Isaiah, in the end times, Damascus will become an uninhabited heap of ruins:

“A prophecy against Damascus: ‘See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins.’” (Isaiah 17:1)

With each passing day, it is becoming more and more plausible that this prophecy could be fulfilled in our day.

With the suspected use of chemical weapons last Wednesday in a rebel-held suburb of Damascus, the utter destruction of this ancient city, previously unimaginable, now seems to be a possibility.

Both France and the United States have stated that there is "very little doubt" that the regime was involvement in last week's attack.

French President Francois Hollande said there is evidence that Syrian President Bashar Assad's forces were behind the poisoning.

In response to the use of chemical weapons, the United States has moved warships into the eastern Mediterranean for potential US action.

It has been reported that the British army also has begun to amass forces at Britain's Akrotiri airbase on Cyprus, which is less than 100 miles (161 kilometers) from Syria's coast.  (Arutz Sheva)

If it is confirmed that weapons of mass destruction (WMD) were used, international intervention would be inevitable, potentially involving the entire region.

Earlier this year, President Barack Obama called the use of chemical weapons on civilians a "red line" that would force the US to act.

"This is about the large-scale, indiscriminate use of weapons that the civilized world, long ago, decided must never be used at all," the US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Monday.

"Make no mistake," he said. "President Obama believes there must be accountability for those who would use the world's most heinous weapons against the world's most vulnerable people.  Nothing today is more serious, and nothing is receiving more serious scrutiny."  (JPost)

Nevertheless, Syria denies the allegations, and the country's Minister of Information said a US attack against Syria would "consume not only Syria but the entire Middle East."  That, of course, includes Israel, which is considered an enemy state.

Avigdor Lieberman

"What is happening in Syria is connected to Israel's security,” said former Israeli Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Lieberman.  (Arutz Sheva)

In a recent Jerusalem Center for Foreign Affairs analysis, Lt. Col. (ret.) Jonathan D. Halevi wrote, “The Syrian regime has shown that it has no moral inhibitions about using chemical weapons at a time of strategic distress.”

“It is therefore possible that, in an extreme scenario where there is an immediate danger of its overthrow, it will resort to attacking Israeli civilian targets with chemical weapons,” he said.  (jcpa)

This week, as the tensions mount, here in Israel, Israelis have been lining at distribution centers to replace old or misplaced gas masks.

"Since the beginning of the week there has been a significant rise in the number of calls to our enquiry center, a fourfold increase," said a spokesperson for the Israel Postal Service, which distributes the gas masks.  (Arutz Sheva)

An Israeli soldier instructs a student on how to wear a gas mask.

It is entirely possible that the violence inside Syria may spread, even without international intervention.

“The Syrian crisis will continue to deepen the Sunni-Shiite rift in the Muslim world,” Halevi said.  “This may well lead to reciprocal revenge attacks in the Middle East and East Asia, and even in Muslim communities in the West.”  (jcpa)

Of course, violence already saturates Middle Eastern communities, which are often divided along factional lines.

Coptic Christians Targeted

"But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you."  (Luke 21:12)

Christians in Egypt are increasingly feeling that they stand alone.

Since August 14—when Egyptian security forces raided Islamist protest camps—Christian business, schools, and more than 60 churches have been attacked and vandalized in Egypt.

The words "Islamic" and "Egypt is Islamic" have shown up as graffiti on the gates and buildings of various Christian schools and businesses, with some Egyptian Christians stating that they have being targeted ever since Coptic Church leader Pope Tawadros II voiced support for the July 3rd removal of President Mohamed Morsi.

While security forces apparently try to protect the nation, they rarely stand in the way of violence among religious and ethnic factions.

Please pray for Coptic Christians in Egypt.

Is a Gaza Uprising in the Works?

Gaza activists, who are reportedly planning to overthrow Hamas in the Gaza Strip, are pitching a series of anti-Hamas activities that may take place on November 11.

“Repression and tyranny have reached their peak and we can no longer remain silent,” said members of the Gazan Tamarod (Rebellion) group.  “The time has come to reject death under Hamas’s security club.”

The grassroots group charged the Islamist movement with "torture, sabotage, smuggling, bribery and thuggery," according to the Jerusalem Post.

Addressing Hamas, the group said: “We won’t ask you to leave because you are part of us.  But you won’t rule after November 11 even if you finish us off.  All our options are open, except for using weapons.  We are different from you.  Unlike you, we don’t use weapons against our brothers.  Unlike you, we don’t kill children, the elderly, women and youths.  Unlike you, we don’t destroy mosques.  We will face you with bare chests.”  (JPost)

Tel Aviv to Honor Homosexuals Killed in the Holocaust

“Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.”  (Leviticus 18:22)

Homosexuals who were abused or murdered by the Nazis will be commemorated with a monument that will be set up in central Tel Aviv's Meir Park.

Besides killing six million Jews during the Holocaust, Nazi Germany began persecuting homosexual in the 1930s.  Between 5,000 and 15,000 were sent to concentration camps, while others were merely punished, mistreated and tormented.

The Germans also persecuted Romanies (Gypsies), Jehovah's Witnesses, African-Germans, Poles and other Slavs, including Ukrainians and Byelorussians, the physically and mentally disabled, political dissidents, and dissenting clergy.

Though scholarly estimates vary, over a million Romani may have been
murdered during the Holocaust.

The Tel Aviv monument reflects the open promotion of the homosexual lifestyle in the city, which is considered one of the top gay-friendly destinations in the world.

The monument's design includes a concrete triangle with a pink triangle inside it.  The pink triangle was the identifying symbol the Nazis forced upon the homosexuals of Europe.  (HaAretz)

Attorney Eran Lev began the project with the support of Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai.

“This will be the first and only memorial site in Israel to mention the victims of the Nazis who were persecuted for anything other than being Jewish,” Lev said.  (HaAretz)

Turkish PM Accuses Israel of Helping Oust Egypt’s Morsi

Last week, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed he had evidence that Israel had a hand in the removal of former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi.

The Turkish prime minister cited a conversation he overheard between the Turkish Law Minister and a French-Jewish intellectual who apparently said that “the Muslim Brothers will not be in government even if they win the elections.”

Erdogan stressed the man's Jewish identity, a tactic consistent with his previous anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

The accusations earned a backlash from officials in Egypt, Israel and the United States.

Some of Egypt's ministers said the motive behind Erdogan’s statement was to divide the Egyptian people.  (MENA)

Israel decried Erdogan's statement calling it "nonsense," and the White House used equally strong language criticizing the inflammatory remarks.  (AFP)

“We condemn the statements made by Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan, according to which Israel is responsible in some way for the riots in Egypt and see them as destructive comments that have no basis at all and are fundamentally wrong,” said the White House deputy spokesperson, Josh Earnest.  (Jerusalemonline)

Earnest stressed that the claim was "offensive and unsubstantiated and wrong."

Pilgrims visit Joseph's Tomb at night under Israel Defense Forces guard.

Pilgrims Face Limited Freedom of Prayer at Holy Sites During Elul

“And Joseph's bones, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the tract of land that Jacob bought for a hundred pieces of silver from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem.  This became the inheritance of Joseph's descendants.”  (Joshua 24:32)

After about 2,500 Jews attended prayer services at the Tomb of Joseph near Shechem last Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, the Palestinian Authority's official news agency WAFA claimed the Jewish settlers "broke into" the tomb.

The services, however, had been organized by the IDF Civil Administration and border police, who assigned a protective detail to the settlers' buses.

The mayor of the Shomron Regional Council, Gershon Mesika, insisted that the pilgrims be allowed to enter from now until the High Holidays.

As it is currently the month of Elul, Jewish orthodox tradition holds that Elul is a time of the year in which God has drawn closer to His people, and serves as a time of emphasized repentance, prayer and petition.

The First and Second Temples stood on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Mesika's goal is to grant Jews freedom to worship at Joseph's Tomb, but the Israel-sanctioned opportunities for those who pray there are limited in scope.

The Jewish People face similar discrimination on the Temple Mount where they are blocked from praying entirely, despite it being Judaism’s most holy site.

Recently, during the Muslim month of Ramadan, Jews visiting the Temple Mount were met with racial slurs.  And during the last ten days of Ramadan, the Jewish People were blocked entirely from visiting it, even though Israel holds political sovereignty over the holy site.

According to a report released by Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish Leadership), there is great inequality between the Jewish People and Muslims when it comes to accessing the Temple Mount.  The Jewish People, in fact, have been allowed on the Mount "less than five percent of the time Muslims were," the report stated.  (JPost)

Meanwhile, Muslim inciters like Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel, continue to provoke Arab-Israeli tensions.  Salah claims to have evidence that Israel plans to build a synagogue on the Mount, and to use part of the site for daily Jewish prayer.

A Jewish man looks toward the Temple Mount.

Of course, Salah's attitude is entirely contrary to Scripture.

God chose Mount Zion as His dwelling place intending that the Jewish People pray on the Temple Mount.

Furthermore, when Solomon dedicated the First Temple, he emphasized its importance to the Jewish People by indicating that they should pray toward the Mount (1 Kings 8:35).  Indeed, throughout the world, the Jewish People still pray toward the Temple Mount where the First and Second Temples once stood.

“Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.”  (Psalm 28:2)

The Bible promises that in the Messianic age, there will be a Third Jewish Temple.  At that time, current hostilities will be a distant memory, and the Mount will be a place of prayer for all who trust in the God of Israel.

“These I will bring to My holy mountain and give them joy in My house of prayer.  Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”   (Isaiah 56:7)

Please uphold the ministry work of Bibles For Israel in prayer, remembering to also pray for the salvation of the Jewish People regularly, especially during the coming High Holy Days.

Your gifts help us bring the Word of God to Israel and the nations in these troubled end times.  We are grateful for your support!

"Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to Your people, come to my aid when You save them, that I may enjoy the prosperity of Your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of Your nation and join Your inheritance in giving praise."  (Psalm 106:4–5)

A kind comment and well wish from Mary !  Thank  you sister, Mary.

Sent from my iPad.  Hi , Tom ! Thanks for the hilarious post RE the dog and cat
GOD created . I needed a good laugh considering all the crazy stuff going on in
the Middle East .MY favorite picture is the cat at the end giving the one claw
salute .
I pray this country stays out of Syria , although that would not fulfill
prophecy . The emperor in DC  is probably the one who is appointed to take the
world into the Euphrates River war . If not now ,certainly next year , and after
it , yes , you guessed it , the Rapture .
I pray JESUS puts his healing hand on you and opens your lungs to take in air
easily without the need of oxygen tanks . Nothing is impossible for Him and for
those who believe .

Have a blessed evening you two and look up for our salvation draws nigh

Mary
