THANK YOU, JUDY D., for sending/ passing this fine email to me and my friends. God bless you !
When I was "in-country" -- Vietnam: 68-70, we 'Regular Army guys almost worshiped the Green Berets ! They were, what we wished could be, except they have a high kill off rate, IMHO. I have a friend who was a Captain Green Beret, who was did 3 tours, to my 2 tours, and we both came to know the Lord, work together, sing together and hang out together, in later life. I believe that we would certainly die for each other --- and we share much Info, too.
The Green Berets are also called, "Snake Eaters." They know how to live off the land, and also mess people up..... big time ! Read this short story.
Sad, oh so sad!!!!!
Subject: Green Berets have growing doubts of duties with skittish political leadership - Washington TimesDate: September 1, 2015 at 11:07:30 AM EDTSent to my Email address list on 9/1/15:
My brother Green Berets are called the "quiet Professionals" because unlike many in the profession, they don't blow their own horns. As a result, most of what they do is never known to the American public. As I recall from the years I spent with them that's the way they want it because it makes their very difficult job a little easier. They don't make videos, they don't make movies, and they don't appear on talk shows about how they accomplished something. They just do it and the world sleeps. If I listed all the things you've read about in the paper, without attributing who actually did it, you'd be amazed; including the capture of Sadam. There was a recent hostage rescue in which a top ISIS leader was killed and his wife captured. Did anyone know who did it? They'll probably even be pissed at me for doing this, but someone needs to blow a horn for them. If for no other reason than to ask them to keep doing a thankless job. See below, for all the adverse action taken against the Green Berets - by a feckless chain of command - for doing that job. Disgraceful! They are the tip of the spear against our enemies. In fact, they are the only ones still carrying out ground operations against our enemies. Not just in the Middle East, but secretly all over the world. When they finally grow discouraged, when they stop trying, who will we have to send, then. Shameful the way we've let our military disintegrate over the past six years. Through it all, these brave men have never wavered. Equipment shortages, aircraft carriers being mothballed, support aircraft non-availability, troops cuts to pre-WWII levels, experienced battle-tested leaders being kicked out - the list goes on. Have all our military leaders become politicized to the point, the good of the service no longer matters? I'm sending this to my email list because maybe you'll share with others. People need to become aware about how badly our military had deteriorated.
