Psalm 141: 5 -- So Important. Thank You.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Hello  Friends and Readers,
I knew that today would be 'loaded' with a front end of heavy lifting, per se,  and getting so much done in the morning while I still had  energy, and even got a hair cut !   Woo-Woo !  I try to stretch that out to every two months, to save money... $12.    And now I feel quite naked...  and sheared like a sheep.
I am still 'coming down' in a sort of anti-climatic settling from my long road trip to visit dear old Mom, relatives and close friends in S.E. Wisconsin, a few days ago,   and I feel good about  the whole thing --- albeit my back and neck are very sore from sleeping on a 'dark ages' torture 'Rack', of sorts.   But I know my body will recoup and resettle  with proper sleep and diet, and the 'Norm' of being in a trusted, convenient environment where I know where everything important is, near at hand, and a large enough bath room.    And if you want to call it,  mixing business with pleasure,  that is OK, too.   Every dime spent was well worth it.
I guess I bragged too much, too far, again today at the VA, that I was going to lose about 30 pounds by the end of this month...Ha!   But what do I know,  right ?   I was just joking with an old, good buddy there at the Iron Mtn., MI., VAMC, named Steve, an RN-- "Wound Specialist" who likes to hear me talk about the Bible, etc., also joke around,  but today he had a 19 year old college nurse trainee girl there to learn the ropes, first hand,  so I had to "be nice."   And with all the combat Veterans shuttling in and out, I bet that young nurse trainee really got an 'education !'    Ha!      I also ran out of energy this morning and wanted to buy some fresh fruit and celery, etc.,  at the grocery store.....to cushion my tender stomach against the many VA- scheduled Medicines that they prescribe for me, and I only wish I didn't have to take ANY of them !!    [Better living thru Chemistry.... lol ]  But they keep me alive, so I am told.  And the lady Doctor said that,  if the Meds work,  just leave them alone,  as they are.... and so now I have the VA's viewpoint on THAT matter....  you see ?    I guess that the VA doesn't want to take chances in experimenting, and I guess I can see their point,  as far as liability, and law suits.   'So, if it works -- don't mess with them.'   Period.   Yes,  I can and do see their point.   And as I talk and hear of other combat Veterans' stories of horrible comparisons, and proportions,   I know that I am still truly blessed !   Thank You,  Lord.   And Thank You for the resources to see my Mom and friends, and it's been so long.

Man!  My favorite day dream is:   Having the body of a 30 year  old with the brains, education,  my Lord Jesus,   and temperament that I have NOW !!   I could be rich, well off, satisfied and happy, all at the same time !!  And I could help others a lot, too !   But I would have the wisdom to do it the correct way !!   What a grand dream.....
But, dear friends, and readers,   there is another future happening that WILL SURELY COME TO PASS, soon, and it is NOT a dream !   It's a Promise from Father God, Himself, and His Son, Jesus !   And now doubt you have read about it many times right here in my humble, modest, Blog:  TOM'S  JOURNAL.   Yes,  indeed, I do try to be humble, here on my Blog,  but I recently found out from a close friend who cares a lot for me that I am NOT always humble....
Did you know that it was David [in the Bible] who said something like,  " should you strike me --- I shall bless you !"  What could he mean by those words ??   It has to do again with Proverbs 27: 17.... 'Iron sharpens iron.'   That a REAL, true friend loves you so much that he/ she will get your attention even if it hurts your feelings, to correct you on some matter.    Now.... that's a real friend!   He/she is not doing that to be mean, rude, or a jerk --- but he would want the same thing from you, too !   Because true correction is an 'ACT OF LOVE !'    Now I understand that using "TACT" is a nice, valuable "tool,"  but not all of us are that talented, and so we just have to struggle at getting some message thru to us, one way or another,  unless it is a small, petty, offense that love can cover over.   Remember that,  "Love covers a multitude of sins.:  1st Peter 4: 8.   ---And the term, charity in the KJV should really be termed as,  "Love."   But that's a long story I don't have time for, now....

And in reference to my close friend who brought something important to my attention, so that I could address and work on it,   please consider this:

Bless Those Who Admonish You

Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness; let him rebuke me—it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it” (Ps. 141:5). If there is a religion that unapologetically emphasizes human fallenness, sin, moral corruption, self-deceit, greed, pride, and perverse selfishness, it is safe to say that it is the religion of the Bible.
Because of our foundational beliefs in the reality of sin, Satan, and human depravity, we should understand well why people in positions of authority are easily corrupted. In fact, the more thoroughly we understand the biblical doctrine of sin, the stronger our commitment will be to genuine leadership accountability.

Well,  after almost a week of neglect,  I now must sift thru a huge pile of bills and pay them off, on a Friday afternoon, with a sunny day that is so welcome !   I hope you all have a stress less, peaceful, safe, blessed day, dear friends.

Dear Lord,  just give back my old body that I had here in this picture down below, please.  But then with my luck.... the Rapture will come one day latter...  LOL !   --Love,  Tom

Sir Isaac Newton was no dummy.

His famous monograph, "Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica," was published in 1687. It is credited with laying the groundwork for classical mechanics. In the three volume set, he also developed Newton's laws of motion and stated Newton's laws of gravitation. Besides inventing the first practical reflecting telescope, he advanced other theories that became foundational to modern physics, calculus, and science in general -- most of which I can't even begin to understand, much less communicate.

Briefly referred to as "Principia," Newton's signature treatise is rightly considered one of the most important works in the history of science.

He is acknowledged as one of the most brilliant men of all time. Yet most people don't know that Sir Isaac Newton was highly religious and a bit of a theologian. He actually wrote more on Bible hermeneutics than on science and mathematics. That's why something he wrote more than 300 years ago is especially important today.

Sir Isaac observed: "About the time of the end, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the Prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamor and opposition."

Sure enough, in the last century or so, there has arisen a group of scholars, theologians, and teachers who have done exactly what Newton predicted -- insist upon the literal interpretation of the Bible's prophecies amid "much clamor and opposition."

We owe a debt of gratitude to men such as Anderson, Chafer, Pentecost, Walvoord, and others who withstood the criticism and, sometimes, condemnation of their peers to bring the Bible's predictions of these last days to the attention of the Church.

Even so, in 1969, when I wrote "The Late Great Planet Earth," there wasn't much general interest in Bible prophecy. With that book, I hoped to attract non-Christians to the claims of Christ and help believers understand the wonder of Bible prophecy.

This week, I'm going to take a look at how some of the predictions I made in that book are shaping up 48 years later. And "shaping up" they are. From the decline of the US dollar to the global war on drugs to the efforts to convert to a global electronic currency to the beginnings of world food shortages. Things are falling into place in the end-times scenario faster than schoolchildren into a lunch line.

All of which means -- as I say week after week -- that it's time to get ready for Christ's soon, sudden return for the believers. Though things are looking bleak on the financial and political horizons, just lift your eyes a little higher and soon we'll see Jesus coming back for us in the clouds of glory. So don't despair -- prepare!
