Winter Survival Kit.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Amen Tom. I feel the same way. I posted my thoughts on my blog today as well. A visit to an old post, made new. God Bless!! http://no-apologies-round2.blogspot.com/2012/11/are-we-ready-to-man-battle-stations-all.html

And Life goes on  -- and the 'beat goes on.'

Friends and Readers...  Don't think that everything is 'over' and please don't STAY disappointed and depressed.   I admit that right after the election results that I was super let down/ depressed and sad with the outcome.  But then I thought, was it that "my plan" was disrupted and failed??  What about God's eternal Plan and bible prophesies??  He is still in command and in control !!  He has allowed this to happen and for a distinct reason!!    Could be that the Almighty God of the Bible knows that a severe fiscal disaster is coming soon and national bankruptcy is eminent!  Let obama take the fall and shame -- instead of a basically 'good man' like Gov. Romney, and then perhaps Mr. Romney might also become a Christian in the mean time, or future ...  we just don't know.

Too, Holy Scripture says that Israel will be 'all alone' without any friends as she must fight for survival!  And with a Romney victory -- that would not be so, because Mitt loves Israel and would support Israel even with military power --- so then Bible Prophecy might not come true as written...  so God knows all this and has allowed a human victory to the Islamic oriented President obama now in 2012 -November, and a very divided House- Congress, to deal with!  My end message is that we MUST BE FAITHFUL AND LOYAL TO GOD-- no matter what things may SEEM --like now with our human eyes and minds.   I bet I have your attention now, guys, huh?  Good.

Bottom line:  I am not a 'fair weather Christian' ...  I am in this fight until the end, to the death, or Rapture!!  I still am and will remain a Soldier of Christ, and loyal, to the death!  Jesus Christ is my Savior -- not some human [be he or she good or bad] being.   And yes, my words today are meant to cheer you all up and put a ray of hope in your day [or night], but my words are founded on large rocks, stones, foundation,  on the Bible verses that I have seriously studied for the past 40 years.  Friends,  sorry to put it this way -- but we are screwed if we are that shallow-- to put our faith and trust in the hands of mere, mortal men-- flesh and blood, human beings... sorry.  Stick you nose in the best book ever written-- and approved by God Himself-- The KJV Bible!!  Please see:  biblefortoday.org
Reading the Psalms lately has helped put my mind and heart at ease, and my trust and faith in God.  I am a better man for it, especially in the last 3 months, of getting into a special program at our small, country church in Iron Mountain, MI., on Saturday nights, with the good pastor Kevin Sullivan, my personal friend and brother in Christ.  He is a deer hunter too, and his fine wife, Sandy, is a close friend of my dear wife, Terri.  PTL !  Things are going well for us, as Winter is knocking on the door and Terri is working her back off getting last minute things ready for a harsh, cold, snowy Winter in the Upper Peninsula of the great Northern Woods, close to Canada!

I just got a nice haircut today from a barber named Eric, in Iron Mountain, for $12, and I feel great, but need a shower tonight to wash away any barber snippings that fell down my neck.  Got to get up early-- poor, old retired Chrysler worker, and disabled Vet.   I usually have a good time on FaceBook too, but sometimes we get a jerk on-line to 'mix it up' and brandish their dirt about another 4 years of stupidity of the Dims... lol.  Let them makes fools of themselves.
I had to memorize Psalms 1, verses 1-6 this past month in the new group program I just joined @ church...  "Blessed is the man walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful."
Verse 2:  "But his delight is in the law of the Lord;  and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;  his leaf also shall not wither;  and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.  The ungodly are not so:  but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.  Therefor the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinner in the congregation of the righteous.  Verse 6:  For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous;  but the way of the ungodly shall perish."   --Psalm One

So, now... if a broken down old war horse like me, Tommy Schuckman, can do this memorization and it took me a month -- anyone can do it !!  Guys,  you all can memorize football stats and TV times and movies -- so what is YOUR excuse?  I'm just joking, guys. Don't worry.

"Kiss the Son [Jesus Christ], lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little.  Blessed are all they that put their trust in him."  Ain't it the truth, guys !!  Now you have a gold nugget in your hand proving how powerful the Psalms are!  Read these two groups of scriptures every day for a month and feel the power of the Holy Spirit!  It's a lot more than you are going to get from the so-called  'victory of obama.'
We shall talk more of this again.  Take care.

All of my close email buddies and fellow well read Christian brothers and sisters, are including the basic same sentiments now as I am.  Scripture says in the book of Matthew, that the "Last Days of this world will be like the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah."   Abortion is still very available [paid for with/ by  my tax dollars] and  acceptable, thank you ladies and Wimmins Lib [sic].   Well, just look at the few States that also approved Gay - same sex-- marriages, and the State of CO approved Pot smoking too!!  Is the world getting better and more God-like ??  NO!  These are all signs that the 'End Times' are surely here now!  Now is the time to share the message of God's salvation and love, all the more!  Get busy and stop crying, please.

I have another VA hospital doctors' appointment in the early morning... to see an eye doctor, and also a dietitian, etc.  We are leaving the dog, 'Deuce' the Rottweiler, home to take care of the house.  Deuce is a special, loyal, watchful, guardian, pure hound dog.  He loves and guards my wife, Terri, even from me!   Why does he like females/ women,  more than his master, poor old soldier Tom....   duh.  I think that Terri spoils him when I am not around....  ha!

Warm Regards,
Tom and Terri Schuckman

Kit tips:
  • Reverse batteries in flashlight to avoid accidental switching and burnout.
  • Store items in the passenger compartment in case the trunk is jammed or frozen shut.
  • Choose small packages of food that you can eat hot or cold.
911 tips:
  • If possible, call 911 on your cell phone. Provide your location, condition of everyone in the vehicle and the problem you're experiencing.
  • Follow instructions: you may be told to stay where you are until help arrives.
  • Do not hang up until you know who you have spoken with and what will happen next.
  • If you must leave the vehicle, write down your name, address, phone number and destination. Place the piece of paper inside the front windshield for someone to see.
Survival tips:
  • Prepare your vehicle: Make sure you keep your gas tank at least half full.
  • Be easy to find: Tell someone where you are going and the route you will take.
  • If stuck: Tie a florescent flag (from your kit) on your antenna or hang it out the window. At night, keep your dome light on. Rescue crews can see a small glow at a distance. To reduce battery drain, use emergency flashers only if you hear approaching vehicles. If you're with someone else, make sure at least one person is awake and keeping watch for help at all times.
  • Stay in your vehicle: Walking in a storm can be very dangerous. You might become lost or exhausted. Your vehicle is a good shelter.
  • Avoid Overexertion: Shoveling snow or pushing your car takes a lot of effort in storm conditions. Don't risk a heart attack or injury. That work can also make you hot and sweaty. Wet clothing loses insulation value, making you susceptible to hypothermia.
  • Fresh Air: It's better to be cold and awake than comfortably warm and sleepy. Snow can plug your vehicle's exhaust system and cause deadly carbon monoxide gas to enter your car. Only run the engine for 10 minutes an hour and make sure the exhaust pipe is free of snow. Keeping a window open a crack while running the engine is also a good idea.
  • Don't expect to be comfortable: You want to survive until you're found.
