    Hey Tom, this is what we do.  A couple of us spend most of our awake hours on this project.  We enjoy contact with Veterans from all eras, and all services.  Have a lot of good back 'n forths with many Vets.

        Our small group of retired Veterans makes metalized film window stickers and magnetic vehicle plaques honoring Veterans of all eras. 

        They are called VetSignias and are designed to give Veterans 'every-day'  visibility.  VetSignias honor Veterans from WWII to The War on Terror.  All VetSignias can be viewed at www.vetsignia.org .  Example:

        We make special cost arrangements for Veterans groups so many use VetSignias for reunions, post activities, fundraisers,etc.

        We made the first VetSignias for a small group of Veterans who were planning a Special Event for Memorial Day Weekend, 1993.  Our original commitment was to make something that would honor the Veterans from KOREA and VIETNAM who didn't get the proper Welcome Home. 

         We expected it to be a one time thing, but several newspapers wrote articles about the Memorial Day Event and the VetSignias.  The word spread, through newspapers and Veterans' organizations, across the country.  Here it is, twenty years later, and we are still sending VetSignias to proud U.S. Veterans..  Tens-of-thousands use the bright silver VetSignias to show how they served. 

        There have been several conflicts since that time.  We have increased the number of VetSignias  to honor Veterans of those conflicts.

        The VetSignia  group is not a business. Profits were never intended and are not expected.  We do have to stay around the break-even point to keep the project going and have been able to do that for 20 years.

       That's what keeps us ol' goats out of trouble and off the streets.

Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa – author of a widely read new book titled “Disinformation” – that he altered his foreign policy toward a key communist nation, having been clued in to the clever disinformation campaign that had fooled his predecessor, Jimmy Carter. Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., currently in his 17th term in Congress, worked with Reagan during the Cold War. In an exclusive interview with WND-TV, Wolf recalled one particular meeting he, Sen. As seen in the photo above, Wolf gave Reagan a copy of Pacepa’s first book, titled “Red Horizons: The True Story of Nicolae & Elena Ceausescu’s Crimes, Lifestyle, and Corruption.” Before defecting to the U.S. in 1978, Pacepa had been the powerful head of Romanian foreign intelligence and right-hand man of the famous dictator. His surprise defection caused Ceausescu to have a nervous breakdown and to order assassination squads to follow Pacepa to America and kill him. Fortunately, various attempts on his life over the years, spurred on by the dictator's multimillion rewards for Pacepa’s death, all failed. Today, at 84, Pacepa is a proud American citizen and lives in the U.S., under a CIA-protective identity. In the late 1970s, before Pacepa blew the whistle, President Carter embraced Ceausescu as a more moderate, enlightened, pro-Western type of communist, the kind “we could do business with,” in contrast with Moscow’s “hardliners.” Carter was convinced helping this "independent" Romania was a key to breaking up the U.S.S.R. After Reagan was elected, even his own foreign policy advisers had been divided, some believing Romania was a moderate county the U.S. could "work with" against Moscow. However, as Pacepa devastatingly reveals in “Red Horizons,” the “moderate” Ceausescu was all a big lie, a calculated ruse, a “disinformation” campaign expressly created to fool the credulous Americans. In reality, as Wolf told WND, life in Romania “was darker than Moscow,” the dictator Ceausescu uniquely brutal and maniacal. Reagan found Pacepa’s revelations so compelling and persuasive that he changed policy towards Romania just one day after receiving his copy of “Red Horizons,” a book he reportedly came to refer to as “my bible for dealing with dictators.” Wolf was ultimately instrumental in freeing Pacepa's daughter Dana from Romania, traveling to Bucharest and pulling off the rescue at considerable personal risk. Reading to WND-TV from Reagan’s diary, Wolf quoted the president reflecting on Romania’s supposed “moderation”: "Apparently that is a sham,” wrote Reagan, “and their violation of human rights are worse than in the Soviet Union." "So,” Wolf told WND, “Reagan gets Pacepa's book on the 12th – and I talked to people who were on an airplane with Reagan, and he said 'Reagan was talking about Pacepa's book' – [and] the next day, Reagan takes away MFN!" At the time, Most Favored Nation, or MFN, trading status was a big deal, lowering tariffs and conferring better trade conditions on recipients, and thus used by the free world as leverage against communist nations. 10 “Pretty Plants” You Didn’t Know Were Poisonous

We all like to keep a few plants around the house to help “brighten things up”
We try to make our insides look a bit more like the outside in an effort to make our humble abode seem more cheerful and fresh inside.
But did you know that many of the plants we keep inside and around our homes are actually poisonous or otherwise harmful to us or our faithful companions?
After reading this article that community member sent me I was a bit shocked to find out how many of these “pretty plants” were around my neighborhood and even in the office!
We’ve all heard the warnings about poison ivy: “Leaves of three, let it be.”
But even more sinister plants might be lurking in your garden, hiding behind fragrant flowers and beautiful blooms. Some dangerous flora are common in home landscaping and can easily be mistaken for something delicious or benign, especially by children or pets. Here are 10 to watch out for…
1.  Castor Bean

Though grown for its striking, large-lobed leaves and attractive flowers, the seeds of the castor bean plant contain one of the deadliest poisons around—ricin. It is best to remove it from your yard if you have children, pets, or keep livestock.
2.  Monkshood

Commonly mistaken for horseradish, this perennial’s bulbs can kill a grown adult. Even touching its leaves with bare hands may result in numbness, so wear gloves when dealing with this indigo beauty.
3.  Foxglove

A member of the snapdragon family, this stunning ornamental sports lovely bell flowers that bloom in many vibrant colors. However, ingesting the flowers, seeds, stems, or leaves of this attractive plant can be poisonous, causing symptoms ranging from vomiting and diarrhea, to wild hallucinations, delirium and even death. Over time, this plant has picked up a host of sinister nicknames like “Dead Man’s Bells” and “Witch’s Gloves.”
4.  Oleander

While its showy flowers are a natural draw for those looking to add a drought-tolerant, deer-resistant plant to their garden, oleanders are one of the more deadly shrubs commonly grown in the US. All parts of the plant can be lethal if ingested in excess. Just touching its sap can irritate and inflame your eyes.
5.  Pyracantha

The thorns of this common evergreen shrub can bring on an itchy rash or burning sensation on those with sensitive skin. A simple prick can release a potent allergen, earning this plant the nickname “Firethorn.” If you’re particularly allergic, a close encounter can cause joint pain that lasts for several days.
6.  Jerusalem Cherry

With fruit that looks remarkably similar to a cherry tomato, this plant can tempt you to pop a Jerusalem Cherry—or winter cherry— into your mouth. But doing so could lead to serious gastric problems and even more dire consequences for pets and young children. Better to dig up and discard these plants than risk it!
7.  Calla Lily

Even just a bite or two of the elegant calla lily can cause liver failure in pets and the mouths and tongues of humans to swell. The protein asparagine, found particularly concentrated in the roots of this plant, is poisonous, so be extra prudent with this popular cut flower.
8.  Pokeweed

Don’t be fooled by a bird’s ability to snack on the appealing purple clusters of the pokewood’s fruit. Humans will get severe stomach pain and potential headaches if they try to do the same.
9.  Amaryllis hippeastrum

Carrying a toxic alkaloid called lycorine, the indoor amaryllis bulb will cause unpleasantness to any household pet that tries to snack on it—from diarrhea to vomiting. Most animals need to eat a large amount to truly be affected, so don’t let it stop you from enjoying the bright trumpet flowers.
10.  Poinsettia

Even though they have a reputation of killings pets, the milky white sap found in poinsettias is actually only mildly toxic to animals and small children. Ingesting it can cause a stomach ache, but not much worse. Still, best to keep them in a less accessible area to avoid any trouble.

So it seems like the Islamic terrorists have a pattern of doing a 'trial run', a "dry run" to test their schemes, if  you do your math and study the history of those cowardly, ruthless, brutes.   They are doing fairly well in Africa --Kenya, etc.  It doesn't take a quantum leap to figure out where they will attack next, with all the terror cells, 'sleepers', in the good old USA. And please, folks,  I heard all the funny stories about "Chicken Little" and the sky is falling.  I'm just good at adding up:  2 plus 2. 

Well, things are really starting to rock around our house and friends preparing for the harsh, cold Winter U.P. here, that I predict will be a cold one !!   Brrrrrrrrrrr !   The local pastor needs to get busy on procuring his Winter supply of fire wood to heat the house.   Any one U.P. here know where to get some free fire wood ???   tschuckman@aol.com  I  know that I could weld my own steel wood stove, if I had the specs, or just sat down with a pencil and paper, as I have always done in the past -- if I didn't already have the blue prints.  But my wife doesn't want to go that route...   I was only thinking,  "Just in case."

In the case of the Boston bombing, the leftist politicians wasted no time in making known their demands to disarm America. ABC News reports this: "The same group that claimed responsibility for an attack on a Kenyan mall this weekend that has claimed at least 68 lives has previously recruited dozens of Americans to join their cause. US officials estimate that as many as 50 Americans have traveled to training camps in Somalia, the home of the al Qaeda-linked terror group al-Shabaab, over the last six years. Just last month, al-Shabaab released a video showing three young men claiming to be from Minneapolis who the terror group said later died as martyrs." This is a grave concern for the United States, especially when the president of the country is actually materially aiding these people as allies in Egypt, Somalia, Syria, Libya and elsewhere. In April, the occupant of the Oval Office cleared the way for the US to send military weapons and "defense services" to the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda-connected leadership in Somalia. He wrote in a memo to Secretary of State John Kerry saying, "I hereby find that the furnishing of defense articles and defense services to the Federal Republic of Somalia will strengthen the security of the United States and promote world peace." He is using the same type of language as a reason to arm Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda-lined rebels in Syria, even while admitting in his September 10th address to the nation about Syria, "It's true that some of Assad's opponents are extremists." No, it is true that ALL of them are extremists. ABC News quoted a former FBI agent and terror expert, saying, "This is something scary. I mean, if you think about individuals who went and fought in a place like Somalia and when they come back home, there's nothing good that can come of this...What we see today in Kenya could be easily copied here in the United States." This is especially true when we have a president and an administration that embraces the leadership of these terrorists as allies and allows them access to America--a country they despise as the great satan.
