The Wrath of Government
The occupant of the Oval Office is angry because the Republicans are trying to use budget talks to defund his flagship socialist program--the Affordable Healthcare Act. House Republicans, feeble as they are as an opposition party, have refused to fund the government unless the president negotiates on delaying socialist healthcare. Never mind that the House of Representatives has the sole Constitutional authority to defund the program without the president's or the Senate's approval. In the process there are many temper tantrums being thrown. Among them is the president wanting to inflict as much pain on the American people as possible to show that government should never be shut down.
The Board of Directors may instruct how the company should operate generally, but the Chief Executive Officer of the company can determine the specific budget items. This is similar to how Congress and the office of the President operate. If you are a discerning person, you will be able to decide for yourself how this current president feels about the people he represents. He has decided to cut where it is most inconvenient for the people, rather than operating the government in the best interest of the people. Things like not airing professional football to our military overseas; shutting down parks and telling park rangers to make it as difficult on the people as possible.
When the House passes legislation to keep giving life-sustaining treatment to cancer patients in research programs and the president and the Senate Majority leader refuse to allow it; or when the White House shuts down the AMBER Alert website for missing children while the First Lady's "Let's Move" website remains up and running; or when the White House orders public grounds to be closed due to the shutdown and barricades out World War II veterans who were responsible for our modern freedoms; or seeks to arrest fishermen and boaters in so-called public waters; Americans get a real clear view of the heart of our leadership. The White House seeks to punish Americans.
Let us remember who is the government and who owns the infrastructure. In a government of the people, by the people and for the people, the citizens own the public lands, the roads, and their freedom. The government has been entrusted with stewardship of those citizen-owned assets and the protection of them. The "government" has no right to punish its citizens because the representatives of the people are trying to hold government accountable. Americans are experiencing the unjust wrath of government. But government is not God. Romans 1:18 says, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness." May the Lord not tarry in his revelations.
