God Will Remove the Church

Couldn't God just protect believers during the Tribulation? Is it really necessary to remove them from the earth?

Yes, the Lord could provide believers with supernatural protection. In fact, He will do precisely that when He provides saints who are present in the Tribulation with protection from the stings of the demonic locust attack that will be part of the trumpet judgments (Revelation 9:4).

But God's promise to the Church during the Tribulation is not one of protection, but one of deliverance. Jesus said that when the signs pointing to the Tribulation "begin to take place," believers are to look up because their "redemption is drawing near" (Luke 21:28). He also urged believers to pray that they might "escape all these things" (Luke 21:36).

There really is no purpose for the Church to be present during the Tribulation. It is a time of the pouring out of God's wrath upon those who have rejected His grace, love and mercy.

There are some who argue that the Church must be "purged" during the Tribulation to purify it. But to me, this idea is absurd. The blood of Jesus is sufficient to cleanse us of all our sins. That is an accomplished fact for those who have put their faith in Jesus (Ephesians 5:26-27). Furthermore, the concept of purging the Church during the Tribulation converts the whole period into a Protestant version of purgatory. It also violates the wedding imagery that the Bible uses to describe the relationship between Christ and His Church. Jesus is not going to beat up His Bride for seven years and then marry her!

Some who believe that the Church will go through the Tribulation often point to the example of Noah and his family. They were left on the earth as God poured out His wrath, but they were protected by the Lord. But this example ignores the fact that Enoch was raptured out of the world before the flood began (Genesis 5:24). I believe Enoch is a symbolic type of the Church and Noah and his family are a type of the Jewish remnant that will be protected through the Tribulation until the day that the Messiah returns.

Yesterday was a great time in our humble hovel when my youngest daughter, Sarah, and her two children came to visit old grandpa Schuckman in WI. They we cute and Tyger said 'he loved me!' He has a high intellect and verbal aptitude for a boy of 3 1/2 years. Mia is smart and well behaved too. We all had a great time and took lots of pictures. Sarah is a veggie lover and enjoyed one of our organic cucumbers from the garden, and the grand kids, Tyger and Mia took the leash of our dog and walked him back and forth in the house, and I was proud at how well trained and behaved he was with the "little people." My wife was up-built and enjoyed the company as she shared some of her fresh baked zucchini bread, and my ex-wife, Karen, mother of my 3 kids came to visit too... and all things forgiven-- she and Sharon get along very well. They were all going to visit my mom and Karen's mom after seeing us. PTL!

Today, good friend, Steve Brulport, came over to cut and trim the lawn, etc., and we always enjoy his company... my Christian brother. He said he enjoyed the book I gave him, Safely Home, by Randy Alcorn, so I told him to share the book with another person he thought would enjoy and learn from it too. I just ordered another one for myself plus a special study, color Bible that explains Archaic KJV English from Shakespeare's time... 1611-12 era. I consider myself a good host and cordial, and since we live out in the boondocks, we don't get a lot of company.

I have a list of 'things to do' before the snow hits the ground, repairs, projects, errands. I bought and dumped some heavy and small gravel, river stones in the deep, muddy ruts in my driveway from the truck going in and out after heavy rains, and that totaled me out for a few days. Sharon has been working hard in the house, and picking garden produce too. We have to slow down on our spending too after the County Fair and pushed back our short vacation to Door County to next month, but things will be fine and we are 'secure.' I will be grilling food outside tomorrow again. I don't ever forget to praise and thank the Lord for my freedom, wealth, health, my wife, kids and grand kids every single day and night! "Life is a vapor." Life is fragile and can be forfeited/ lost in a heart beat -- and then what do we have? We have eternity! How will we give account for our life on earth?
Sharon went with me this morning to Kenosha as I had a few short chores and we went to have my 2 extra bottles refilled with LP gas for the grill which should last us another 2 Seasons, but also just in case our electric goes out from some unforeseen disaster-- we will be able to cook our food. The older guy at Hillside Hardware was joking with me and as he was filling the bottles outside the store, I witnessed to him about the Gospel and gave him a new pocket Bible and one of my personal pens with my name and email address on it. My wife is good at that too, and it gave me a good feeling to be about the Lord's work and "MAKE/ SEEK out the opportunity" to share and witness about God's promises for all mankind!

As mentioned, these are some of the more important things in my life that give it purpose and joy.
The weather should be hot and humid the rest of the week with poor air quality, so I asked Sharon to please wake me up early to work on the truck before it gets too muggy and buggy in the back yard. I am rigging up a set of chains to restrain my power scooter from 'rocking and rolling' when I drive, and installing a better truck- cap window that busted from the lift [jib crane] blowing it out before.

What a down pour of rain we had today in Wisconsin! And much needed for our gardens, grass, crops, and aquifers, etc. Sharon got a 2 hour hair cut, etc this morning and she likes it. We then went to the Brat Stop for a prime rib sandwich and then came home and got the mail. Sharon got a bill from the Union Grove/ Yorkville Fire Dept for the "ambulance service" when she had congestive heart failure on 5-13-09, and the goofy baboons almost croaked my wife! All they were interested in was the fee for the ride to the wrong hospital, and they jerked us around with exaggerated, exacerbated paperwork after we begged them to help get her in to MY OWN VEHICLE as I took her to the CORRECT Kenosha hospital that her own heart specialist directed us to !! And the incompetent, slack jawed monkeys want $573.79 for the 'non-event.' They were so rude and pushy, and a policeman saw and heard the whole thing [and I believe he was on OUR side]. My wife feels the same way I do on this matter, and she used to be an advanced EMT.

In a way these small hick town oafs remind me of the corrupt VA system-- except that the VA has gotten a bit better lately in Milwaukee... LOL. Don't worry folks, if Obama has his way, the rest of America is due the same consideration/ care in the very near future... Woo Woo!
For the so-called 'services rendered' we believe we are getting ripped off... but we will pay the bill.

One of my good Christian friends who is also a Vietnam Vet just bought a new Chrysler auto, and it made me think about my own circumstance of getting a full length cargo van to hold our 2 power chair/ scooters so we BOTH can be more mobile when we travel. I almost have the "old" 2005 Dodge Caravan paid off, and the Ram truck can't get both chairs in comfortably without scratching them all up or damaging them. But I keep getting the bad stomach feeling again that I may be biting off too much right now when I expect the economy to tank and hurt most of the WORKING CLASS/ Middle Class people in America. And the new vehicle would have to have the correct 'lift' mounted somehow/ someway. Well, now my wife tells me that her CHAMPVA might pay for a lift to be put in the '05 Dodge Caravan. We will have to pray about this subject more.

Tomorrow it should be VERY hot and humid, but we will be just fine.

When things got rough while I was laid off from a good job at AMC/ Chrysler I went back to school to study more welding and related subjects at the Milwaukee Area Tech College and got into a temporary Gov't housing [VPC] [run by a black organization that treated the white Veterans badly, with intimidation,etc] in a Milwaukee crime area jungle, [35th and Wells Street] and I got to see first hand how things were in 'the Ghetto.' It was like the 'Planet of the Apes' where everything was 'upside down', very corrupt, dirty and extremely dangerous. I heard other people including some Black Staff members saying that they had to use their Army training to survive in that environment! Those 6 months at Vet's Place Central were very scary and made many of us [even the Black displaced and homeless Veterans] anxious. I carry those bad times with me in the heart, and I have NEVER witnessed such prejudice and bias in my entire life! People used Food Stamps to buy anything including drugs, and prostitutes sold themselves for $5 just to buy more 'Crack' cocaine and smoke it. It was very smart to stay sober so as not to fall into 'temptation' and get HIV and STD. Those folks even had their own peculiar brand of ghetto English that other good, hard working Blacks couldn't understand, and I can elaborate on this via personal email. I have many Black Christian friends who are the salt of the Earth whom I expect to see in Heaven! There is good and bad in ALL races and we ALL came from Adam and Eve. However, the Lord directed the Apostle Paul to go WEST on his missionary tours/ preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ... not East. Right now, I don't exactly know the reason why, but Abraham's union with the slave girl, Hagar, produced the races/ nations of people that plagued Israel even until now! Go figure. We are so blessed in the USA for having the FREEDOM to hear and accept the Gospel, Bible and Lord Jesus Christ without fear of being jailed, tortured and murdered like many other nations on earth, like China, SA, Indonesia, India, and all Muslim lands!! Wisconsin. I know that the following is true.

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America . Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ' 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude???

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona ? And Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids.? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America ? Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.
We are a Christian Nation even if Mr. Obama says we are not.
This needs to be passed around because, this is a message everyone needs to hear!!!

Not Just Eye Candy: Edible Flowers... Beautiful & Healthy

At the farmer’s market this weekend, I sampled a crisp, peppery purple and yellow flower. It was a Johnny-Jump-Up, with a faint taste of wintergreen. I also tried a daylily bud, which reminded me of fresh green beans. The grower showed me how appealing the flowers looked with his newly picked lettuces. Indeed, they were pretty enough to eat... and made a brilliant salad that evening.

SENSATIONAL SALAD DAYS

Hungering for more -- flowers and information -- I called herbalist Michele Eccleston of Portland, Oregon, and James Duke, PhD, ethnobotanist and former USDA researcher, to learn more about which flowers are edible and what health benefits they bring to the plate.

According to Dr. Duke, all flowers contain protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and sugars. His Web site, www.greenpharmacy.com, makes it easy to find the precise chemicals in your favorite flowers. Most contain several antioxidants, including Vitamin C, but some also have particular health benefits:

• Violets, kin of the vivid Johnny-Jump-Up, add a grassy flavor to garnishes and desserts. These are a good source of rutin, believed to reduce capillary fragility.

• Borage, which hints at cucumber, is good in salads. It should be used sparingly, but can be helpful when you have a cold or cough.

• Lavender petals taste sweet and contain chemicals thought to benefit the central nervous system.

• Roses have a sweet, astringent flavor. Rose petals are rich in antioxidant-like polyphenols that may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Different colors have different bioactive pigments -- and white has the least. Eccleston cautioned against eating the ones you buy in stores as they are grown with chemicals and dipped in fungicide.

• Nasturtiums, lemon gem marigold and calendula (petals only) are all delicious in salads, each bringing its distinct earthy flavor and color to the table, so to speak. The orange calendula (marigold) petals contain lycopene and other cancer-fighting nutrients, while the yellow ones are rich in lutein, which is good for the eyes.

• Daylilies contain Vitamin B and chemicals associated with reduced risk of heart disorders.

• Squash blossoms contain Vitamin A precursor carotenoids.

Mix these with fresh lettuces, dress lightly and admire your chef d’oeuvre before consuming it.

SIP YOUR FLOWERS

You can also steep edible flowers in hot water to make tea. While most people know of chamomile tea...

• Rose petals make tea with a distinctively floral flavor.

• Predictably, lemon verbena tastes lemony. You can use the leaves too.

• Scented geraniums have a sweet citrus flavor.

• Bee balm tastes of both mint and oregano.

• Hibiscus has a fruity, cranberry flavor and turns tea a deep red.

do your research

Most edible flowers bloom between March and September. Violets (such as Johnny-Jump-Ups) appear early and other flowers follow in May, with many remaining in bloom until the first frost. Edible flowers can be annuals or perennials. They can be dried or frozen, but most lose their color, flavor and nutrient value over time.

Eccleston notes that every year, people are poisoned by plants because they don’t know what they are eating. It is important to research any wild plant so you know whether a particular flower is edible, and if so, which parts. For example, blue elderberry is edible, but red-berried elder is not... and all pistils and stamens usually need to be removed. Take classes, check out plant books and visit nurseries specializing in edible plants.

It’s best to eat only flowers you’ve grown so you know they have not been exposed to pesticides, lead-based paint (found around older buildings) or animal waste. Do not fertilize edible flowers with animal manure.

LET’S EAT

A salad tossed with an assortment of edible flowers looks like a Monet painting -- it’s a naturally beautiful way to showcase them. Here are some others as well...

Stuffed Squash Blossoms

Skip the pasta. Stuff squash blossoms with cheese and herbs, dip in egg and flour and lightly sauté in a bit of olive oil. Eccleston cautions that you should only pick and prepare the male blossoms (the ones with stamen, which you should remove first). Leave the female blossoms on the plant so they can mature and become squash.

Herbal Sun Tea

Fill a one-gallon glass jar with filtered water and add a handful of one type or a combination of lavender flowers, rose petals, rose geranium (flowers and leaves), lemon verbena (flowers and leaves) and mint. Leave it to sit in the full sun to steep for four to six hours. The water turns a tea color as the herbs infuse into the water. Then, strain out the plants, place the tea in the refrigerator and serve cold.

Nasturtium salad dressing, from the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service

¾ cup canola oil
¼ cup red wine vinegar (or an edible flower vinegar)
three to four minced garlic cloves

Whisk together and blend well.

Add ½ cup nasturtium petals and ¼ cup snipped chives and florets. Gently blend and add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over salad garnished with nasturtium flowers.

Finale

For a delightful summer dessert, Eccleston suggests mixing crushed lavender petals with coconut sorbet or ice cream. Eat on a hot summer evening... while sitting in the garden, naturally.

After Reading a recent article from Ted Pike about deviant sexual behavior in the USA, and even so-called modern Psychiatry-- there is no doubt in MY mind that Almighty God has the RIGHT to rain down fire from heaven tomorrow morning. Just my personal view point and opinion. And the new 'Hate Laws' will make things 100 times worse.

But we must EXPECT things like this to happen as Jesus predicted in the book of Matthew. Our "Gov't" has been high-jacked by the Dims mostly, but also the weak, spineless RINO's who have also lost too many seats in the Senate and Congress do to immorality and scandal. CINO's too [Christians in name only] failed the nation because they didn't vote right when it was abundantly clear what obama stood for and supported. I feel that we can beat the bad news and further break down of planet earth by praying, meditating on scripture every single day and getting as close as possible to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I feel that I finally got my power scooter to work and run right now, but I may try to study and learn more about the 'nuts and bolts' of this animal for when it breaks down again. I will also chain the scooter down to the truck so that there is not so much 'travel' when I stop and go. I think I learned a lot--especially the "service people" who expect the costumer to kiss their feet in order for them to do their own jobs in a timely and skilled manner... LOL. And with the poor 'service' track record, it might even be wise to buy a 2nd scooter just in case. And with this unstable economy I will not consider buying another new vehicle, as the Gov't [Obama] will prob. want to preak the promise and raise taxes on the middle class to bail out his own wild spending Baloney.
