Some things that still scare me.

If I think back through out my entire life on "things learned," I have thought that some things are NEVER to be repeated-- as they were so life threatening and scary. NO-- I am not talking about combat and war too much... but about learning from mistakes that COULD HAVE ended more tragically. NEVER point a loaded gun at anything you don't want to shoot. NEVER lift heavy weights without a spotter. Always take a buddy swimming with you, etc. Never touch an electric fence with a wet piece of grass, or something else like it.... Kind of like Murphy's Laws.

Well, a few things happened in my life that could have been prevented had I known better, used my brain more, or had a smart friend to 'pull my body out of the fire.' And it also may be true that many combat Veterans just can't seem to let down their 'guard' for fear that a similar mishap, injury or death might befall them or their buddies. Like the God father movie... 'Women and children can relax and play, but the men can never do that..' "Ours is not to ponder why-- ours is but to do or die." I won't further embarrass myself by telling where I messed up royal in my life-- but I always thought in my mind that I would never do that stuff again.... and it works for me!

Being complacent scares me, and I wish I could JUST RELAX AND CHILL OUT FOR A WHILE. But being retired is a joke, in a way, because you still have to read your daily mail to make sure it isn't something really important... as I found out the hard way. You had to stay awake on guard duty in war--Vietnam-- but you also can't just read a book at the VA lest the nurse call your name and you miss it and get counted, 'absent,' even if THEY are an hour or 3 late. And don't you think the same VA'Staff Members' just know how, and play that game with you??! I well know for a fact how they intimidate and play on the Vets' fears and anxieties, but so do politicians and the Gov't!

But one thing that we can never do is to let our spiritual, godly guard down, ever! Why? Because Satan never sleeps nor rests, and he is walking around the earth like a roaring lion seeking to devour us [Christians]. Go figure that he already has the MAJORITY of other humans under his spell and power! WE are the real targets-- the real prize! And think of this: 'When a robber breaks into the house or store-- who is he afraid of or most worried about... the average old lady-- or the guard with a gun and police radio?? If I were a Viet Cong looking to shoot down a helicopter, I would aim at the pilots, but the gunners also pose a dire threat to the VC, and even if the gunner doesn't see the enemy, he will throw a smoke grenade out the window to "mark" the enemy, so that the gunships can zoom in and 'waste the whole area' with their heavy ordinance. Is that cool, or what?!

Yes, it's been my experience that every time I FAIL to follow S.O.P. [Standard Operating Procedure] something bad happens to me, and it's a stupid person who continues to keep messing up because he/ she has not learned his lesson, IMHO! Once you figure out that God has never lied or with held something good from His servants, and all His promises have come true in the right time-- we should never doubt what His Book says! But most of mankind have never taken the time to READ THE BOOK! Too busy "working" and watching TV, right.... lol? This will be so abundantly clear to the folks who are 'LEFT BEHIND.'
There are honest Christians all around us who would love to help us understand and lead us to Christ-- FOR FREE! The Holy Spirit is free too.

Sharon is doing well, as I saw her today, and I will see her again Sunday.

I found this article very appealing-- especially for it's teaching value and simplicity. I learned in high school Speech class [from Mr. David Molton] that a smart speaker can analyze his/ her audience and tailor his speech to connect to the majority of those there... as a group. I am good at words, but I wish I were a better "Word Smith" with even more academic language skills, Bible school, with Hebrew and Greek... I loved languages! But when a man comes home from combat/ war, gets a job at Nestles' chocolate in Burlington, WI, and starts a family-- many wishes/ dreams take a back seat to providing for momma and 3 children. I was raised in this mindset --that laziness was a serious sin, and taught that same hard work ethic to all my kids who are now well grown.

I suppose that some of my friends, relatives and others may find fault with this post as they have been raised a lot like I was-- Catholic, and I love them all dearly. But somehow my life changed dramatically after Vietnam, and I just HAD TO KNOW MORE ABOUT LIFE'S PURPOSE AND WHAT GOD REALLY WANTED OF US-- according to the Bible. And sorry to say, even going to a Catholic graded school, I never got my questions answered by any nun or priest concerning what the Bible actually taught. And facts don't lie-- statistics say that perhaps the majority of Catholics in the USA, and of course, African- Americans EVEN THOSE IN THE MILITARY-- voted for Mr. Obama-- the Socialist! But I don't want this post to degrade into politics, PLEASE! Don't we all get a belly full of that every single day on the "News?"
Really, are not all Parties corrupt and have their on self perpetuating agenda-- instead of helping the people? "Absolute power corrupts-- Absolutely."

That's why I have turned to GOD, our Father in Heaven! There is NO other game in town, as you will see if you read the goodies below. I just love a good writer who can make 'it all come together in the end.' Actually, for those who are 'too highly educated'- in everything worldly EXCEPT the Bible, with those almighty 'sheep skins' on their walls-- the Bible and Gospel are 'TOO SIMPLE' for them to understand-- besides the Lord has blinded them who have an evil heart -- they are in Satan's world, unless they repent and accept Jesus as Savior.

I may write a personal email to some of you [for safety sake, as I cannot trust AOL anymore-- or the lurking stalkers, back bitters and cowards out there] to help me in a personal challenge. I may come off as a mighty warrior with tough skin, but days like today made me feel very tested and shot my blood pressure up. I am calmed down now after I read the Scriptures, and some friends and the Holy Spirit helped me. I could not sleep for the pain in my back and legs, so I came back to the PC to write-- which is my form of therapy. It usually works for me.

Now days the cowards who can't poke holes in legitimate Christian and Bible articles-- assassinate the messenger ! So what's new in this 'POLITICALLY CORRECT, ant-God world?? I wrote two emails to AOL to find out just who and why someone reported my blog post yesterday-- but they have not responded yet, and I doubt they ever will. Everyone who knows me or has read my blog KNOWS that I don't use any profanity or off color words. or pix, but if the King James Bible offends them, I stand guilty-- I guess. Beware: the "THOUGHT POLICE" will NOT go away any time soon, and it's going to get worse. And yet, if a Christian be persecuted for Christ's sake-- greater will his reward be in Heaven! Hey-- I consider that better than an investment in precious metals, friends! Woo Woo!

I guess I will refrain from posting too many more 'comments' on FB and other AOL sponsored news and events. If you don't flow with the Libs like a dead fish-- they will play rough with you-- but that is MY own personal opinion.
Jesus said: "Think not that I have come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a SWORD." ~Matthew 10:34. But read the whole chapter to get the real gist of meaning. Who ever sent that complaint-- why not own up to it and explain just what offended you-- in these Free United States of America.

I had a very hard day today, from getting shots again at the VA in both knees to being disrespected by an attending RN, but I should not have corrected in front of my doctor friend even if I did tell the whole truth about what she did to me..... Ha! My friend, Mike Ryan who gives me the injections sort of told me that it's 'best not to say anything back to a female nurse [with their fragile egos and thin skins], even when they are disrespectful, abusive to combat Veterans. We should just "LET IT GO AND NOT SAY ANYTHING!!" EVERY OTHER VETERAN THAT I HAVE EVER TALKED TO TELLS ME THE SAME THING! I always feel a tense under current of tension, anxiety, fear, and yes-- animosity, from other Veterans who have to jump through hoops and take so much manure from some of the hospital staff at the Milwaukee VA. I have actually talked a few Vets out of doing something nasty to docs and staff-- not wanting them to get into trouble-- and that would give the rest of us a bad name and add to our so-called "stigma" of being 'unbalanced'...when we all got a bad shake/ rep. especially from some "Media"-TV types.

I went to visit Sharon today as she called me to take her out for drive-in cheeseburgers and root beer -- she had permission to stay out that afternoon. Then I got her more Ruby Red grapefruits and took her back to Woodstock Rehab. Latter at home I retrieved a phone call message that mentioned something about Hospice for my wife-- and that shook me up! I just wasn't mentally prepared for such a shock... so I called my wife and she just heard about it too as she was visiting with our Pastor George Schlegel at the time in her room. I will talk more about this latter....
A few friends came over to see me today, Dan Totts, a Marine and fellow Chrysler retiree, and brother Joe Van den Mullen came over to share some encouragement from the Bible-- Psalm 73-- and how everything in our lives is in God's hands, so why should we worry so much. Still, I have a head ache and gut ache from all the stress today.
Thank you, brother Kurt, the Marine, from WI, for sending me a cool story about smelting fine silver, and the Biblical application.

But I had another disappointment at the VA this morning... as I found out that they decided to re-do/ refurbish one of the OR's [Operating Rooms, used for Ortho/ knee, etc., replacements,], and so that new undertaking pushed my own surgery back to the last part of November -- and I well know and support the fact that there is a long line ahead of me-- of deserving Veterans who have also waited too long!! I see the poor old souls hobbling along and they are in severe pain, even though they try to HIDE IT! Darn... I will bring my camera to the VA next time I come and start a photo journal. What gets me riled is that NO ONE will do the simple chore of finding out what, why, when and how-- for the Vets-- unless you have a 'friend on the inside.' That means that most of the Vets are messed over. You say that you just can't wait for obama-care, and more Gov't controls to mess things up-- forever ??? Ha! Just look what the Gov't has goofed up in the last 2 years! Take your pick. When the Republicans get back in office-- HOLD THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE TOO!

I'm telling you that almost every day THIS serious Bible student [ME] who at one time thought he was a 'scholar', learns a new 'twist' or better understanding of some facet of prophecy, or bible verse, and I am loving it. That means that we can NEVER be too proud and full of ourselves to be so un-flexible so as to NOT learn minute gems and pearls of truth and wisdom! Holy Spirit helps us in that quest. This is not something earth shattering or something that would keep us out of heaven-- but still very interesting.... just like the "Lord's Prayer" and it's real meaning that few understand.

I also reflected upon WHY I chose to begin blogging a few years ago-- and there were a number of reasons, like: therapy for my PTSD, camaraderie, sharing the Gospel with others and also being encouraged by 'feed back', meeting other Christians with like interest, as "Iron sharpens Iron" ~Proverbs 27:17, etc.
I have to say that I have learned so much these past 5 years or so, in that I see the "love of the greater number cooling off" with much complacency, laziness, satisfied to be a 'couch potato', and putting their burned out brain on the shelf... lol, as TV and PC are much entertaining. And the article below elaborates on Jesus' own words that are cited-- in relation to what is happening just BEFORE the RAPTURE. Even if N happen to have the "tools" and gifts of a good teacher-- people will still not be motivated if they don't want to! And that is just the cold, hard facts, friends. The trick is NOT to get burned out and quit.

As the apostle Paul said, 'Just knock the dust off your clothes and travel on...go to the next door or human being to share the Gospel.' This might be discouraging, but we just need to move on and continue our mission on earth until the Rapture.... and that is really what I am waiting for!! The only difference is that the world of mankind doesn't have the 30-40 years that I had-- to fine the real TRUTH of Salvation!

My own son is between jobs and has some time on his hands, so I told him that THIS is the big time in my life where and when I could really use his physical help and friendship, before I have the knee surgery, that he could live FREE at my humble house, with tons of food, just for a few weeks, and perhaps a little while after my surgery, and I would even pay him gas money if he has to go to work/ finds a job. I wonder if he can see past his own wants and desires to put some body else before his personal pleasures, desires and needs...please pray for him. Time will tell. But this could be his big opportunity to do something special and important to help his father. Hey! For the most part, as the Bible clearly says, the vast MAJORITY of human kind will be "Left Behind" and most of them will go to hell. That's a fact-- Jack.


I pride myself on my new chosen diet of better foods, veggies, fruits and whole grain bread, just as the VA docs suggested to lower my cholesterol and weight. And I know that some of you readers will laugh, but I am also preparing myself for death, if it happens pre-maturely. In fact, I told my son today-- with all the pain and stress-- 'if I died today or tomorrow, it would be a blessing from God.' The world and especially the mad, mad, corruption and perversions in Gov't make me want to vomit, with their God-dishonoring ways and "Progressive", "Liberal" movement/ standards, horrible education, and constant LIES, etc. And the young people are growing up Godless, with no respect for the Bible or anything good, IMO, except for those who are home schooled! There are hardly a few to stand up with a back bone-- to the destruction of our country andConstitution. The Congress are a bunch of pandering cowards only interested in keeping their jobs at all costs... and selling us out every day they are in power.

Sharon is happy where she is now, in a regimented setting with new friends that she can visit and talk to, and I call her about 8 times a day-- guess I am that lonely.. Ha! I am kind of glad that I have a loyal buddy at home, my hound dog, Deuce, the Rotty. I just hope I am well enough to vote in Nov., and will explore doing an absentee vote just in case. 'Throw the bums out!' I don't want to miss THIS one!
Well, I just love Wisconsin in the Fall when things are so peaceful and pretty with the air temps perfect.

Sunday morning church service and adult Sunday school, prior to that, is very important to me, as we are 'fed spiritual food' by the deacons and pastor, who do a very good job of teaching/ preaching pure Bible subjects. They generally use the King James version of the Bible, but the congregation is certainly free to use what ever translation they like/ choose. And the friendship and camaraderie are also very important to me. So even though it's tough to get dressed up, and limp up the steps of the church [or drive my power scooter up the disabled ramp], it is important for me to be there. We have audience participation in Sunday school, and so I answer a good share of questions.

But, IMHO, I would bet that at least half of the congregation can't defend their Bible held beliefs or do a fair job witnessing to unbelievers... sorry. I think that is a pity. What in the world could prevent a so-called Christian with the Holy Spirit from learning enough to give a good witness as all are commanded-- especially after they have been sitting in the pews for years?? I know of people in false religions and cults who are much better trained to knock on doors and take the initiative to share their beliefs!! It just may be an "abnormal thing" now days to come up and witness to a 'stranger'-- but the Bible says this is a necessary things. I have a 'cheat sheet' taped inside my bibles called the 'Road to Romans' that helps me explain how all humans are born into 'Adamic sin' and need salvation through the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ, with a orderly number of scriptures to support my witness/ Bible beliefs. But there are so many ways dig up interest/ witness, and hand out Bibles and tracts. Remember, this God-inspired "work" of sharing the Gospel will NOT last too much longer, because the Church will be Raptured! This is what Jesus meant when He talked about 'laying up our treasures in heaven.'

As I posted on Facebook, I brought the new Toshiba "Notebook" P.C. that I recently ordered from Sears, to Sharon as a gift, so she can email her friends and me, and she was very happy about that.... and the grapefruits too. She promised never to procure any more credit cards on the sly-- behind my back --to put me into more debt again. I feel that another national and world cash/ credit/ money bubble will burst soon, and those with less or no debt will fair better when that next storm hits us. I don't care how the Progressive Dims spin their deceptive economic lies-- we will surely have more financial problems and woes down the road--- and THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE PUSHING AND PLANNING FOR!! 'Never waste a disaster.' Many well read people know that nations are pushing for ONE WORLD GOV'T and GLOBAL GOVERNANCE --control-- Socialism. No matter who is elected next-- there will be hell to pay for obama and the Dims tripling the national debt, with nothing positive to show for all that money! I am afraid that who ever is in the driver's seat next won't be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again either.
And we think that times are tough now??


My wife and I have not had a real vacation for 5 years, and I live in an old, but freshly painted, 100 year old house, so I have SOME cash flow. We still have many creature comforts, toys, and eat well. Looks like buying and selling a house will be getting harder for a while, with more banks cutting back and freezing up the credit. I have 2 good vehicles, and the high snow in Wisconsin doesn't hamper my Ram 4 by 4 truck.
My power scooter ran out of battery so I had Sharon meet me out side of her nursing home on her own power chair to collect the new P.C. and fruit today. It's getting so hard to walk right now-- but I will be getting my "90 day shots" in both knees on Tuesday--at the VA- Milwaukee. I shaved off my full beard after I got home and I will get a thrill watching people surprised seeing my bare face. I guess I just got tired of the extra whiskers.

I brought a few steaks home and grilled them out side-- and gave the hound dog some of the tougher pieces. I got some huge Courtland apples, broccoli, and 10 grain bread to eat too. I am obeying the VA doctor's advice in my new eating habits to lower my Cholesterol and lose weight, but it's a slow process without being able to exercise. Ha! I was a power lifter most of my adult life and have the pix to prove it!! A sudden injury can change all of that in the heart beat... and retirement too.
