Home at last, after a short vacation.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

There are so many human beings that DON'T know, don't realize just who goes to heaven, when, how, what time, what criteria, etc.... including ME [in different circumstances], so I take the bold path of just posting this interesting things, in hopes of helping others to get knowledgeable, edified, encouraged, satisfied with the Truth about Salvation--- shaking off false religion/ teachings, ignorance.  I hope and pray that I have touched some one's life so that they, in turn, can touch others ... BEFORE it's too late to do any good.

Why??  Because the Lord loved me so much that He put a few good bible teachers in my life to guild me to the Lord too-- and then SHARE my knowledge with others-- bringing praise to the Lord who is the Greatest Teacher that ever lived and walked on earth!  It does us good to bend knee to the greatest name in the universe-- Jesus Christ, our true Lord and Saviour, and God loves the humble ones.   Let GOD reward me if He wants!  But honestly, I just want to get to heaven.

Well, Terri and I just got home a few hours ago from our short incursion down South to see, visit, with some good friends and relatives back in the Union Grove, WI., area, out to eat some fine dinners, shopping, and relaxing.  And now Terri, my lawfully wedded wife, have a few more days before she has to return to work up here @ Iron Mtn, MI  49801, and then we shall play it from there --whether we can allow Terri to retire early, or not.  Actually, we just talked about that this afternoon, and we have a good plan, Sam.

So here I am, writing in my own Blog -- but getting hungry again, and still have some left over Prime Rib left from lunch at Sturtevant, WI., at the 'Drift Wood Lounge' close to Racine, WI.  Our old trusty 2007  Dodge Ram 4 by 4 pick up truck serves us well, as Terri is using it to buy and transport more 4 by 4's for finishing her pet project in the back yard-- building a great deck for  us, 99% all by  her self!!   And hauling our two dogs back home after being borded for a few days while we have fun after getting married on Monday, June 11th,  2012....  PTL.    I will be sunning myself there every sunny day, studying my bible, or grilling a few steaks... etc.    Like I said before:  'Terri is ten times the carpenter I WISH I WAS !!  It's so nice, and cool, that Terri brought so much to the table after we met !!    We like to pool all our tools and knowledge,and make out well in the long run.

Warm Regards,
Tom and Terri Schuckman

How Did People Get Into Heaven Before Jesus?

Q. How did people get into heaven before Christ came and died for us? I understand salvation thru Jesus, but what about the time before Jesus?

A. No one could enter Heaven before Jesus went to the cross. But the promise of His coming can be seen throughout the Old Testament. People in those times who died in faith of this coming redeemer went to a place called Paradise to wait in comfort for Jesus to come and pay for their sins (Luke 23:43). Once Jesus had sprinkled his blood on the altar in Heaven, the way was opened, and when He ascended into Heaven He took them with Him. Since then the spirits of believers go directly to be with Him when they die.

Martial Law by Executive Order.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Friends,
As some of you already know, today is very special to me because I got married to my best friend, Terri, and now I feel fulfilled, complete, more settled down, more calm, and very happy.  PTL.  I feel that in many ways Terri is a better person, smarter, younger, more kind, and just more fun to be around.  I pray that our Father in heaven will bless us and prepare us for what ever comes down the pike.  I also pray that God uses her as his 'agent of restraint' in tempering me like good quality steel, to be used to the full in God's Army of loyal servants -- but "Iron sharpens iron" ~ Proverbs 27:17, and that is what I like... to be tested by another blade equal to me, and just as witty.

I believe that things happen for a reason, although we may not understand the sum total of things in the beginning -- we certainly don't want to shake our fist at the Creator-- because we lack understanding, wisdom and discernment right now in the present-- the answers are for those who are humble, patient, and who have FAITH in the Word.  So, go figure, that if the Lord was so kind and merciful to us--  ought we not extend our time, energy and treasure to the Lord's work, in sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Salvation --- while there is still time??  It is my own humble opinion that the fruit of our lips-- our declaration and testament to God's wonderful Salvation, and being Saved from eternal hell and damnation, is of utmost import now!  You don't have to finish first in this race -- but you do have to finish in time to be Saved-- BEFORE the 'Ark' is signed, sealed and delivered.

It's almost every day that I watch conservative TV, radio and read the News Paper, that something else is hurtling our way that proves all the more that we are indeed living in the Last Minutes, of  the last hours, of the last days of this wicked Satanic system of things on earth, where scripture says that the majority of humankind will reject the Son, Jesus Christ, for one reason or another, and go down that wide and spacious path to everlasting destruction.  See:  Mathew 24, etc.  And the composite 'signs' mentioned are reported by many good Christian authors who are attune to the Bible prophecies, and it is the coming One World Gov't, and religion, along with world economic melt down, that I have been blogging about for the past 7 or more years now, in my humble Journal.

Below is another facet of what I am talking about, and very important.  My question is:  Why have the other political party and the Independents let this go without report??

Comments, please?

Martial Law by Executive Order

Posted: 03/21/2012 7:25 pm

President Obama's National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order of March 16 does to the country as a whole what the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act did to the Constitution in particular -- completely eviscerates any due process or judicial oversight for any action by the Government deemed in the interest of "national security." Like the NDAA, the new Executive Order puts the government completely above the law, which, in a democracy, is never supposed to happen. The United States is essentially now under martial law without the exigencies of a national emergency.
Even as the 2012 NDAA was rooted in the Patriot Act and the various executive orders and Congressional bills that ensued to broaden executive power in the "war on terror," so the new Executive Order is rooted in the Defense Production Act of 1950 which gave the Government powers to mobilize national resources in the event of national emergencies, except now virtually every aspect of American life falls under ultimate unchallengeable government control, to be exercised by the president and his secretaries at their discretion.
The 2012 NDAA deemed the United States a "battlefield," as Senator Lindsey Graham put it, and gave the president and his agents the right to seize and arrest any U.S. citizen, detain them indefinitely without charge or trial, and do so only on suspicion, without any judicial oversight or due process. The new Executive Order states that the president and his secretaries have the authority to commandeer all U.S. domestic resources, including food and water, as well as seize all energy and transportation infrastructure inside the borders of the United States. The Government can also forcibly draft U.S. citizens into the military and force U.S. citizens to fulfill "labor requirements" for the purposes of "national defense." There is not even any Congressional oversight allowed, only briefings.
In the NDAA, only the president had the authority to abrogate legitimate freedoms of U.S. citizens. What is extraordinary in the new Executive Order is that this supreme power is designated through the president to the secretaries that run the Government itself:
• The Secretary of Defense has power over all water resources;
• The Secretary of Commerce has power over all material services and facilities, including construction materials;
• The Secretary of Transportation has power over all forms of civilian transportation;
• The Secretary of Agriculture has power over food resources and facilities, livestock plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment;
• The Secretary of Health and Human Services has power over all health resources;
• The Secretary of Energy has power over all forms of energy.
The Executive Order even stipulates that in the event of conflict between the secretaries in using these powers, the president will determine the resolution through his national security team.
The 2012 NDAA gave the Government the right to abrogate any due process against a U.S. citizen. The new Executive Order gives the government, through the Secretary of Labor, the right to proactively mobilize U.S. citizens for "labor" as the government deems necessary and to coordinate with the Secretary of Defense to maintain data to coordinate the nation's work needs in relation to national defense.
What is extraordinary about the Executive Order is that, like the NDAA, this can all be done in peacetime without any national emergency to justify it. The language of the Order does not state that all these extraordinary measures will be done in the event of "national security" or a "national emergency." They can simply be done for "purposes of national defense," clearly a broader remit that allows the government to do what it wants, when it wants, how it wants, to whomever it wants, all without any judicial restraint or due process. As Orwell famously said in 1984, "War is peace. Peace is war." This is now the reality on the ground in America.
Finally, the 2012 NDAA was hurried through the House and Senate almost like a covert op with minimal public attention or debate. It was then signed by the president at 9:00 PM on New Year's Eve while virtually nobody was paying attention to much other than the approaching new year. This new Executive Order was written and signed in complete secret and then quietly released by the White House on its website without comment. All this was done under a president who studied constitutional law at Harvard.
It is hard to know what to say in the face of such egregious disregard for the integrity of what America has stood and fought for since its founding. It is hard in part because none of us thought such encroachments would ever happen here, certainly not under the watch of a "progressive" like Obama.
At one level, the prospect for war with Iran is probably an immediate justification. But the comprehensiveness of the Executive Order, like that of the 2012 NDAA, speaks to something much deeper, more sinister. I would suggest that this Order, like the NDAA, has been in the works for some time and is simply the next step in the logic of the "global war on terror." Our political elites have come to consider democracy an impediment to effective governance and they are slowly and painstakingly creating all the democratic legalities necessary to abridge our democratic rights with impunity, all to ensure our "security." Of such measures do republics fall and by such measures tyrants emerge.
The only thing that really remains is the occasion to test the new rules of the game. Perhaps that will be war with Iran, perhaps some contrived emergency, or perhaps, as long as the public and media remain asleep, no occasion will be necessary at all. It will just slowly happen of its own accord and we, like the frog in the pot of slowly boiling water, will just sit there and be consumed by our own turpitude.

The basis for our Faith.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Hebrews 11:1,  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."  This is the Bible's standard definition that is not always totally understood by many... but then comes the long list of faithful men and women of old who really HAD true faith, and did special things.  In the OT [Old Testament] of the Bible, God made Himself manifest periodically with powerful events, unmistakable to prove who He was to His people, and others.  But now days we have the Bible which is infallible, perfect, but the Holy Spirit is needed, IMHO, to be understood.  And 2nd Timothy 3:16, says that,  "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.  That the man of God be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

So, in modern times we do have the Word of God, the Bible, to work things out, understand, aid our belief system and give a good solid account and DEFEND THE FAITH.

Well, it looks like I will be going to church again alone, because Terri's better daughter and hubby are stranded far away as their car won't move-- probably the transmission, and I have been there too many years ago.  Hey,  what are friends for?

And tomorrow, as some folks already know,  Terri and I have a special day waiting for us, and we hope and pray everything will go off without a hitch, fine and lovely, finally.  Having seen and experienced so much in my life time-- I know that ANYTHING could and can happen-- including Murphy's Law.

BUT-- IT DOES TAKE A LITTLE FAITH to believe the Bible, and just think-- the ancient Israelites SAW and experienced so many miracles but STILL dropped the ball so many times that they wore out the Lord's patience and mercy so that He had to punish them time and again, as recorded for us.  And now days, with all the proof that the Bible affords and teaches-- men scoff at most anything the bible says-- passing things off as some sort of natural event!!

People, nations, kings and administrations have their own kind of 'faith', gods, convictions, and deem it proper to sacrifice the blood of our young warriors in wars and battles for some stupid idea -- but mostly greed and politics... like, what in the heck are we wasting men and treasure in Afghanistan when the leaders over there are CONSORTING WITH THE ENEMY and shipping the money and loot to private bank accounts secretly???  And I know from past experiences that the brave, faithful soldiers who return from war get treated like used toilet tissue, and then disenfranchised, cheated and abused by the VA system, and dumped on by the general populace!!  The younger US soldiers don't fare much better either these days, and have a high suicide rate, etc.  What a sorry shame!

No thanks,  I will stick with MY Faith and belief system from the Bible, which has worked well for me-- and better than any other things I've tried in the past.  I still have problems and many challenges, but my faith in the Bible and God in heaven serve me well.

Warm Regards,
Tom

The Basis For Our Belief

Q. God revealed himself to people in OT times by super natural things (fire, cloud, burning bushes, etc). In NT times until present it seems that God does not reveal himself supernaturally anymore. I have heard it said that God revealed himself in three parts as the holy trinity. The first was God the father as the super natural, the second was God the Son Jesus as a literal human, and finally God the Spirit as in the day of Pentecost until now. Maybe its where I live or the times (or maybe something else) but it seems harder and harder to see or hear God. Could you share your ideas about this?

A. In Old Testament times evidence of God’s existence was the basis for belief. People knew there was a God because He periodically sent unmistakable signs of His presence. For example no matter the strength or direction of the wind, the smoke from the Temple sacrifices always went straight up into Heaven.
The evening after the Lord’s resurrection, all the disciples except Thomas saw Him. Thomas refused to believe their stories until he had personally seen and touched the Lord. When he did, the following week, he bowed before the Lord and worshiped Him. The Lord replied, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and yet have believed.” (John 20:29) By this He meant that in the age of the Church faith would be the basis for our belief, rather than physical evidence. Because of this, the Church is blessed above all believers.

What is a true Believer?

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

For the record, and to help other Veterans who get less than proper treatment from various VAMC's --Veteran's Administration Medical Center-- [hospitals run by the VA], the one U.P. [sic] here in Iron Mountain, MI 49801 seems so lax, slow, fumbling the ball, and giving very poor service.  There like to change their rules and SOP [standard operating procedure] too often, but also abuse more than a few Veterans-- as I always like to 'keep my fingers on the general population pulse' of the Vet community.  And what I USUALLY HEAR IS:  The place is very unco-ordinated, and always has been, with no rhyme or reason, always dropping the ball -- especially as they dispense much needed medicine!!
    One of the main reasons I feel the need to air my grievances is because too few of us DON'T!  Well, that just lets those goofy, slow, careless staff members off the hook again, and no one knows about the PROBLEMS !!  So the real value is to get things corrected, but also get them on paper to the proper authorities, because small VA hospitals -- and big ones will just sweep things  under the rug, and nothing will ever get corrected.  Got to keep their feet to the fire-- or actually, the VA staff will get worse and more lax, while the Vets get the dregs and crumbs off the table.
   Please keep in mind that when you get enough abuse to where you think you ought to complain-- "burn them from the top -- down."  Go first to the source, then the Patient Advocate... then write or phone your Congressman or Senator, and so on, or contact the News Paper/ Media, for a real turn on... LOL.  The last thing people want is notoriety.  And keep written records all the time, with proper names, times, dates and numbers.  I speak from long experience, brothers.  We al have "TriCare VA type of health insurance" -- and just wait until the general population gets 'obama-care' which will be similar to our VA health care... LOL !!! People just don't know what they are in for...  I calls 'em like I sees 'em, friends.
    You might want to pass this message on to any Veterans you know-- to help and inform them.

Warm Regards,
Tom

And now... What is the real definition of a "Christian ??"  Most folks don't have a clue....  sorry.  Read below.

   I am really loving this Summer and getting as much sun as I can-- good for my skin, and good humor.  I painted my specially made wooden lawn chair again today-- a nice shade of deep blue, contoured for my delicate torso -- and then I can read, study, enjoy the Summer even more outside!!  It is God's good and gentle blessings showering me.  PTL.  I will take a picture of my handiwork soon and post it.  This truly is the "Good Life" before worse things arise in a few months... IMHO [in my humble opinion], and I will enjoy and treat my spouse with as much love, kindness and generosity as I possibly can.  PTL.

Is There A Difference Between A Believer And A Disciple?

Q. I was hoping you could clarify something for me. Specifically, I know I am saved because of what I believe. That being said, when Jesus talks about being a disciple, he talks about leaving family, friends, and everything behind to follow him. I understand he was talking about those around him at the time yet at the same time, we are challenged to become a disciple. Is there a difference between being saved and being a disciple?

A. I believe you’re referring to Luke 14:25-27.
Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.”
This is a reference to the first commandment. In effect Jesus was saying that we’re not to venerate anything more than God, but are to love Him with all our heart, soul and mind (Matt.22:37). In the historical sense, He knew that many were following Him just because He fed them and healed their sick. But the same idea holds true today. When we come to the Lord we’re to make our whole beings a living sacrifice to Him. It’s our spiritual act of worship, the expression of our gratitude for being saved. (Romans 12:2)
A disciple is a follower, or student. In Matt. 28:19 He told the 11 to make disciples of all nations (people). I think He was implying there should be no difference between being saved and being a disciple.
Like it is with all things concerning the Lord this is a matter of the heart, not a requirement for specific behavior. We’re not being told to go off and abandon our responsibilities, but to make Him our first love by such a wide margin that our feelings for home and family or anything else that distracts us from loving Him are almost like hate in compari
