Hi Folks,
Does anyone remember back to the 1960's -70's great Songs..."Smokin' in the Boys' Room ?"  ... And it starts out, 'Did you ever have one of those days when everyone in the world was ragging on you from your teacher to your friend?'  Ha!  I'll see if I can dig that song up, but in the mean time, I need to say THANK YOU all for all of your prayers for my dear, younger nephew, Joe Erwin, who just got back Stateside from the combat in Afghanistan, in one piece!!  Woo Woo!!  And now for any PTSD that may have set in his mind, and I continue to pray for that.  'You can take a man out of the jungle [or Combat] but you can never take the Combat out of that man.'  Or shall we say, very few soldiers adjust all the way back so that they never remember a thing...  The American Indians, and the ancient Israeli Soldiers had a way to deal with past combat, stress and PTSD, and it would be WISE for the so-called military shrinks,. the VA, to check it out.  Too, the BIBLE --God's own Word, will help very much also, brothers in arms!  For your own good, welfare, and your family's, please put that GREAT BOOK to use !!  Questions:  Just as me or my good pastor, Kevin Sullivan, and I will be glad to give you my and pastor's number if you want it.  Don't suffer for the next 40 years like I did, hurt people you love, drink too much, smoke, or make mischief, etc,  PLEASE.  Besides, this old, Satanic system of things will NOT last much longer, and our eyes and heart should be inclined to the Lord, who has promised to come back SOON, in the Rapture!
     We older Veterans had to learn and invent things that could help us, the "hard way" -- and most of that was/ is lost now, because the 'younger guys' for some reason are too proud to ask for help!  Just too many suicides,. brothers!  Why help the selfish, greedy Gov't and VA by letting them keep all the money allocated for YOU, and then give it to our enemies in the Middle East, like the Egyptians, etc, illegal aliens, and welfare bums who have never "paid their just dues" but live under the protective umbrella that you good soldiers provided-- and then 'eat your lunch?'  I woke  up after the first 17 years and started to get some help, and you younger soldiers need to do the same thing, one way or another.... and YOU took the same OATH that I did, to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution!    Someone who "said" he was your friend, tricked you, and is now trying to ignore and hurt you.... Mr. B.O. Obama.  Hold his feet to the fire until he gives us all only what we deserve.  God gave us Freedom, and now obama wants to strip you of your fire arms, and other freedoms.  So what are you going to do??
    Let me apologize for this nation that has slipped to the far Left, and let you down, guys and gals.  We older generation of the Vietnam era were so weary that we finally got home, started raising our families and licking our own wounds, hoping that things would just stay the same and go on, with us having our little place in the sun...  but it didn't work that way.  While we were sleeping, resting, some one stole our Country, so that now we already live in a Lefty Socialist Amerika....  sorry.  And like I have beat my drum so many times... 'You ain't seen nothin' yet !'  Things, according to the Bible, WILL GET MUCH WORSE, and there is no way that humans can put our world back together again. 
     First the whole corrupt world of mankind and the poisoned Earth need to be cleaned, and then the harmful "vermin" of diseased rats need to be 'removed.'  Let face it people,  some folks will NEVER change, and they don't want to.  They already have their paradise here on Earth, with human slavery, bondage, drugs, filth, porn, selling of young girls, abortion, the Gay agenda and kicking Jesus to the curb, etc.  God is focused on saving His favored country and nation of Israel, and He will do just that!  The USA isn't even in the picture, so where doesn't  that leave us?  Hey, we are already bankrupt, and toast, yet MOST of  Amerika thinks that they have their 'Saviour' -- obama!   What will people do when they learn for a fact that obama is an illegal alien, not fit to sleep in the WH?  My take on this is:  that many people won't even care as they continue to suck at the public, Socialist tit...  sorry.  I am too blunt, albeit correct and truthful...
      Friends, I am no better than any of you, and have a huge monkey on my back too, super stressed out, and many times fail to take my own advice.  I have fears, phobias, stresses, and snakes that bit me even when I am trying to study, and rest!  I ask others to help me and pray for me all the time.  Even today, the pastor came over to visit with my wife and I, sharing some important scriptures.  I beg him to show me when I mess up... SO I CAN FIX THINGS AND GET BETTER!!  My own intellect and knowledge won't help me, and too many times I forget that I already have GRACE, and the Holy Spirit inside me.    Yet, I do know one thing... the power of prayer, and I don't leave home without it !    I should remember, that what ever happens to me, God has already Saved me, and I ought to know where I am going..  to heaven.  NOT because I am a good man -- because I know I am a sinner!  But I know the Bible well enough to know what God has promised to everyone who has and will accept the Lord Jesus Christ into his/ her heart, and try to do His will.
    So, if any man or woman is humble enough to stand up and ask for help, through me, my humble blog or any real, live knowledgeable Christian, let them do it now, today, please.  The day will come, and soon, when that feat is not possible anymore, when Satan lives in the Anti-Christ and the world is in shambles, big time!

Learning To Trust The Bible

Q. I have realized that I have trusted too much in my feelings and my thoughts instead of the word of God, however learning to rely solely on God’s word is difficult, what advice can you give regarding that? How can I learn to trust in what is written in the bible and not what I feel or what thoughts pop up in my mind?

A. Relying on our own thoughts and feelings is easier for us because it’s what we’ve always done. But it’s only a habit we’ve acquired. Trusting God’s word is a matter of forming a new habit to replace the old one.
In 2 Cor. 5:7 Paul said we walk by faith not by sight. In Romans 10:17 he said faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
Trusting what is written in the Bible is the same as walking by faith. It comes from studying what the Bible says and applying it in faith and with prayer in our daily lives. As we do this, walking by faith will start to be a little easier. Over time, with continued practice, we’ll discover it has become our new habit.

Home from the War.

This is almost exactly like the home coming that I experienced when I got back from Vietnam in 1970 !!  Somethings never change... and many of these new younger guys did more than my 2 tours "in-country."  I think they need our support. but they need Jesus Christ and the Bible even more!

Home from war, troops face 'white knuckled' first month

Drawing blinds and blacking out windows is a habit Menefee started after his military service to help him feel more secure.

In the first month home from war, one Marine routinely searched his darkened bedroom for the rifle he'd left in Iraq, while another Marine shunned his favorite nightspot for fear that someone in the club might carry a gun.
In the four weeks after their homecomings, one infantryman drove “white knuckled” at 55 mph while another soldier purposely began living even faster — losing her virginity, going blonde and drinking hard with battle buddies.

Some 34,000 service members will ship home from Afghanistan during the next year, President Barack Obama told the nation last week.

Amid the gleeful glow of arrivals, many of those troops may quickly confront sensory overloads, social awkwardness and, perhaps, deep cravings for personal freedoms, according to interviews with four younger veterans who weathered such moments.
“The first 30 days are interesting,” said Alex Horton, who spent 15 months in Iraq as an Army infantryman, including during the 2007 troop surge in Baghdad and Diyala Province.
Today, he works for the Department of Veterans Affairs. "I’ll call it the unraveling. That first week back you’re still high on everything, kissing your wife or girlfriend, sometimes seeing your kids for the first time. But then the tension starts to build.

“You experience culture and weather shock, and notice your senses are heightened,” said Horton, adding that another common theme — albeit something he did not go through — involves disrupting the daily routines established by a spouse and kids during a service member’s absence, and consequently, dealing with strained relationships.
Distant from family
To that point, two veterans interviewed for this story, including Horton, said they suffered romantic breakups after returning from combat, and two got divorced.

"Trying to get back to my regular life was hard because I wouldn’t talk much to anybody. I didn’t want to talk about what went on in Iraq, didn't want to describe the details," said Paul Menefee, a former Marine who was deployed twice to Iraq and fought in the Battle of Fallujah in late 2004.
"Things that happened, I didn’t want to remember. I was trying to cope in my own way, not deal with the images in my head," added Menefee, who eventually divorced his wife. "I was distant from my wife, mother, cousins, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles. At Sunday dinners, I pretty much stayed off to myself."
Old habits came home, too. During his first 30 days back at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Menefee grew jittery in a Wal-Mart checkout line because other customers were queued up behind him. He left the store immediately. He avoided nightclub outings with friends because the bar crowds seemed unpredictable.
He chose seats in the backs of restaurants so he could watch all the patrons and map each exit. At home, he kept his blinds drawn, his door locked and always looked left then glanced right when passing a hallway or an open corner.
On interstate highways, Menefee — a truck driver in Iraq — often pulled four lanes to his left if he spotted a blown tire or crumpled, food wrapper lying on the right shoulder: The types of hiding places in which insurgents routinely planted IEDs in Iraq. While driving in an American city, he would take an early left or an abrupt right if he saw garbage or roadkill on an approaching curb.

"You don’t realize that (your senses are) very fine-tuned to your environment, everything from hearing things to seeing things," Horton said. "I imagine this is what blind people feel with their other senses. You rely on them so much (in combat), they have no business being that acute in the civilian world."
"When I got into a car and drove on a highway for the first time," Horton added, "I was white knuckled."
For former Marine Christian Gutierrez, who returned from Iraq in spring 2008, the open road at first carried a mix of old caution and fresh freedom.
During quick trips to the grocery store, he frequently would exit his car then quickly circle back, thinking he'd left his rifle in the front seat, momentarily forgetting he didn't carry a weapon anymore.
"But I love cars and love driving. So I drove a lot because it was my time," Gutierrez said. "That moment was your moment. You had control of your car. You had control of that moment."
'Lucky I didn't die'
Soon, he bought a motorcycle to further feed that rush of independence, to expand his new-found personal space — and because combat left him with another sharp bit of wisdom: Your moments on this planet may be few.
"Being back taught me that if I want to do something, I’d better do something right now. You never know," he said.
That same compulsion drove Iraq veteran Laura Cannon to use her first 30 days home to mark, she said, "the beginning of a new life for me," a time in which she stepped away from both Evangelical Christianity and the strict rules under which she'd been living since enrolling at West Point.
"I knew that if I didn't make drastic changes, being at war would be the last adventure I would ever experience," said Cannon, a former Army infantry member who was part of the 2003 Coalition invasion. "Surviving a war completely changed my perspective. I needed to start living for me. So I made a mental list of goals to accomplish. No. 1 — lose my virginity. I was 24 for God's sake!"
During her first month home, Cannon also bought an SUV, broke up with a boyfriend, dyed her hair blonde, visited Ground Zero, posted a personal best in a 5K race, and found time to "party my ass off with my war buddies — heavy drinking."
In Iraq, "there was (stuff) blowing up everywhere. I'm lucky I didn't die. I hadn't done enough with my life," she said. "I had survived a war. I had a second chance to live differently. I was not going to let others control me anymore. It was time to make more adventures and maybe get some baggage along the way. I was so far behind. Lots to catch up on."
"The rapid pace at which I compensated for my repressed life, especially in the first 30 days after the war," Cannon added, "were completely catalyzed by combat."

I found a "keeper" short article today, and decided to expand on it a little bit.  At first glance it may SEEM to sound like Calvinism... but in a nice, easy, smooth way, everything comes out in the wash according to how the Bible really wants us to understand, correctly.  And I was looking for a good way to explain this subject for a long time, so here it is!  The Bible says that no man can "earn" or work for his Salvation and entry into heaven, because it's already A FREE GIFT FROM GOD!  All we have to do is to grab hold of it, confess our sins and desire [Honest Desire] to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ, forever!  And then, real, Christians [defined by Webster: a follower or imitator of Christ] will want to 'be like Jesus, continue to learn, study the Bible [that means God is talking to us], progress, and be responsible --EVEN THOUGH WE ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE SINNERS ON THIS EARTH!  We will sin now more when we get to heaven-- as we will be PERFECT then. 

For an old war horse, bag of bones, pained/ suffering physically, and sometime emotionally, every day of my life already at the age of 64, with disabling arthritis, losing vision, body don't work right anymore, must use a cane and power scooter... LOL, I am ready for the Rapture any where, any time, please, LORD!!  Yet real Christians already live in a "spiritual Paradise" knowing that we CAN and will bear up to all challenges because we have the Holy Spirit inside of us, and we know for sure where we are going... once we understand the true meaning of Jesus words in the Bible only!  Hoo Rah!  When we get cut-- we bleed red, we get sick, we die, but we know for a fact that we are SAVED!   And what normal guy or gal doesn't want to share something good like the "Good News of the Kingdom-- the Gospel?"  After worshiping God, that is JOB 1 !  Job number One!  What supporting scriptures that I know and have memorized --fine, I can lay them on you. 

Do I have other interests?  YES!  I love to do veggie gardening, farming beef, welding, carpentry, wood carving, throwing knives and tomahawks, teaching other what I know, using power tools, etc.  I am a shooting, gun, knife enthusiast, love my wife to pieces-- pretty blond, well endowed, my dog, "Deuce" the Rottweiler, rescued from Katrina in N.O., love to talk, email, write, blog, grill steaks in the back yard, invite friends over for dinner, go to the Iron Mountain, MI., Family Baptist Church, where the good pastor Kevin Sullivan--906-774-8239.   www.family baptistmi.org      -- gives such wise council and great teaching sermons every Sundays, etc., pray, and many more things.  PTL= "Praise the Lord." 

Please pray for my dear son-in-law, Grant J.,  who just had surgery on his knee and not fighting with his lame Health Insurance company who wants to back out of a firm commitment to help him....duh.  Pray for my pretty wife who has arthritis, RLS, and a bad shoulder [as she still works hard at HD U.P. here every day] and needs corrective surgery--rotor cuff.  Pray for my dear friend and fellow brother in Arms/ Vietnam Vet, Jerry, in NH who has Agent Orange, etc.  So sorry, that I don't pray for Amerika anymore, as she is being punished for electing greedy, power loving perverts who LOVE abortion and the Gay agenda, also enslaving the greater mass of hard working people into satanic Socialism, and kicking the one true God, Jehovah, out of the country, sorry!  However, many individuals still need to be Saved and soon-- before God makes his judgment and before the Rapture....  we have much work to do!  Share the Gospel and the Bible.  Pray to protect our 2nd Amendment, please.  And please pray for this old man, named Tom Schuckman, a sinner man, but still a lover of Jesus and all things good and holy. 

I had a 10 AM VA appointment this morning for a scheduled 'echo cardiagram' procedure by a nice red headed lady who treated me with kindness and respect, and thanked me for my service to this country -- as she could tell by looking at the small tattoo only on my Lift shoulder [that can be easily concealed], that says:  "Vietnam Veteran.  68-70. Picture of the flying American flag, and under that, "Jesus is Lord."  Now, I wish I would have left the flag OFF.  We ought to pray for ISRAEL, the only State/ Country that has a real blessing and contract/ promise with God!!  In fact, anyone who disses, injures, hurts, curses Israel, according to Genesis 12:3 will be under God's wrath and curse.... [Read: Obama, and the country who elected him.... duh].  Hey!  I don't make or write the rules or the Book,  Sorry, I just share them with others, OK, guys?  "I calls 'em like I sees 'em."

How Are We Able To Seek Our Salvation?

Q. Man is in a depraved state and sin was passed down thru Adam to us. Because of our sinful nature, how are we able to make the decision to be saved without God helping us ? Are we that able to have something to do with our salvation ? Wouldn’t that mean salvation isn’t just up to God and that it’s our work and His grace combined?

A. Romans 8:29-30 explains the process and shows God’s involvement in our salvation. It begins before the creation with His foreknowledge of all who would choose to accept Him during the age of man. This shows how our name came to be written in the Lamb’s Book Of Life from the creation of Earth (Rev. 13:8).
With that foreknowledge He predestined us, which means He made sure it would happen. Then at the proper time in our life He calls us to do what He already knows we will do. He’s persistent and keeps after us until we respond, because He promised never to lose any of us (John 6:39). It’s like when you set your alarm but because you have an important appointment you also ask your spouse to make sure you wake up. You make the choice to get up, but your spouse will keep after you until it happens.
When we respond, as He knows we will, He justifies us by applying His blood to our sins, rendering us as though innocent. Finally, at the rapture/resurrection He will glorify us. No one falls through a crack, no one is forgotten, no one is left behind. We make the choice, but He knew we would and sees to it that we do.
Salvation is not just up to God because if it was everyone would be saved (1 Tim. 2:3-4, 2 Peter 3:9). But because He already knows we want to be saved, He will do everything necessary to make sure we are. That’s how He helps us.
But that’s not all. He’ll also make sure we stay saved. 2 Cor. 1:21-22 says it’s God who makes us stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, put His seal of ownership on us, and put His spirit in our hearts as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come.
Our salvation is not a combination of our work and His grace. In the Bible work is defined as something we do in an attempt to earn or keep our salvation. Choosing to be saved involves admitting we don’t deserve it and could never earn it. In Ephesians 2:98-9 Paul was very clear in saying our salvation is by grace through faith, and not by works.
