The Coming Kingdom [Part 16].

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Hi Friends,
My wife and I thought about the idea of getting another dog to keep our noble Rotty boy company, and also 'train the new younger Rotty bitch [that means female doggie girl...duh] as her tutor.   Well, we left early in the morning after seeing a picture of the new young girl on the Net, and she passed the 'dog test' -- in other words, "Deuce" and her got along just fine!  We wrote out a check for the 'donation fee' $$$, and her clean bill of health -- back on the 2 hour's drive to Iron Mountain.   It will take time and lots of hard training to get her bonded, acclimated, settled down and at ease, but Terri thinks that everything will work out well.  She listens and obeys my commands already.  We named her Juda.   For the record --and good advice to first time dog buyers... make sure that you have enough property to let the dog run, especially a large dog, like my hounds, and read up on that breed!!  Some Rottys are harder to train because they are stubborn -- but once they know their respected place -- they are very loyal, good with kids, gentle, but fierce to protect your family even with their own lives !!  They are incredibly smart !!  I would never buy any other dog breed, personally.

If some of you readers are interested in the daily News, like I am, sometimes your gut wants to turn over and die when seeing how ungodly Socialist and radical Islamic our once great country has become, filled with serious crime and violence, with the Gov't reeking from corruption, greed and evil ! ! !   And can we ever trust the IRS again ??  After reading that the IRS is totally ILLEGAL from the get-go, what is next now??  This baloney is starting to really upset me -- except that I just happen to wear a suit of armor -- THE KJV BIBLE !  With out that great, pure, Gift from God the Father in Heaven -- I would surely buckle and fall !  The Bible itself says in the book of First Corinthians, the 1st and 2nd Chapters, that only the people who have the Holy Spirit in them will be able to fully understand the Scriptures.  So.. how do you get that Spirit?  I don't care if a person has 4 Ph., D's, with out the Holy Spirit that person will never get the true gist of what is written!  And yet a mere child will be able to understand the Bible IF they have that Holy Spirit !!

Chapter One, verse, 27 says,  "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;  and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty..."   But please just read the entire book of 1st Corinthians, to get the real McCoy, right after you ask God for 'understanding' and the Spirit.

I am just super tired right now after this big day for us, with all the driving, and then Terri got my eye glasses repaired later, too, after we got home, and also stocked up on dog food.  And I have heard of humans eating dog food too, when there are nothing else to eat.  Sorry... but I really think those days might be coming back to Amerika soon enough, the way our new Socialist Gov't is now telling the farmers WHAT TO PLANT AND WHAT NOT TO PLANT, etc.    I am blessed to be gainfully RETIRED and have more time to read the real News that others don't get, from different sources, that the Gov't would love to shut down.  And after the revelations of these past few weeks -- NOW, what I say is a little bit easier to believe, is it not ???  But  you are now just starting to see the 'tip of the ice berg!'  Just put a few of the top dogs in jail for committing purgery  [lying] in front of a Congressional committee, and the rest of the liars and 'president's men' will cave and crumble.

In the meantime, you would want to think that at least the "Churches" would tell the truth about things -- but you'd be wrong AGAIN!  This is where the fine article comes in:

The Coming Kingdom (Part 16)

Because today's evangelical world believes that the church is experiencing the Messianic kingdom, we began a study chronicling what the Bible teaches about the kingdom. In this series, the biblical teaching on the kingdom has been surveyed from Genesis to Revelation. This earthly kingdom is anticipated in the office of Theocratic Administrator that was lost in Eden, in the biblical covenants, in the predictions of the Old Testament prophets, and in the earthly theocracy governing Israel from the time of Moses to Zedekiah. This theocratic arrangement terminated with the initiation of the "Times of the Gentiles" when the nation had no king reigning on David’s Throne as Judah was trampled by various Gentile powers. Against that backdrop entered Jesus Christ, the rightful Heir to David's Throne. Had first-century Israel enthroned Christ, the earthly kingdom would have become a reality. Despite this unprecedented opportunity, Israel rejected the kingdom offer leading to the kingdom's postponement.
Due to this postponement, Christ explained the spiritual conditions that would prevail during the kingdom's absence. This interim program includes His revelation of the kingdom mysteries and the church (Matt. 13; 16:18). Because neither the kingdom mysteries nor the church represent the fulfillment of God's Old Testament kingdom promises, the kingdom will remain in a state of abeyance as long as God's present work in the world continues through His interim program. However, one day the church's mission on the earth will be completed resulting in the church's removal from the earth through the rapture. Then God, who is not forgetful of His prior unconditional covenants with Israel, will re-extend the offer of the kingdom to national Israel in the midst of the coming Great Tribulation. Unlike at the First Advent, this time the offer will be accepted leading to Christ's return and subsequent earthly kingdom. Revelation therefore explains how the world will eventually transition from the rule that Satan has had over the world ever since the Fall in Eden (Luke 4:5-8) to the future time in history when God and His people "will reign upon the earth" (Rev. 5:10b; 11:15b). The Apocalypse also furnishes the important detail of the Messianic kingdom's duration, namely one-thousand years (Rev. 20:1-10). A chronological approach to Revelation reveals that the Millennial kingdom will be followed by the Eternal State. Thus, God's kingdom program will extend beyond Christ's one-thousand year earthly reign as it transitions into the Eternal kingdom (Rev. 21-22).
Far from the incorrect or imprecise "kingdom now" terminology typically employed by many evangelicals today, when the kingdom comes, it will be tangible, literal, physical, geographical, and earthly as well as moral and ethical in tone. We further noted that those closest to the biblical text, the early church fathers, also held to premillennialism or the reality of the coming, earthly kingdom of Christ. In fact, the premillennial view was dominant in the first two centuries of the church. We also observed that the problem with using New Testament verses in an attempt to argue that the Messianic kingdom now exists in spiritual form is to interpret the New Testament in a manner that contradicts the Old Testament.
Rick Warren

Contemporary Kingdom Confusion

Considering that a careful Genesis to Revelation survey very clearly indicates that the kingdom is a future and postponed reality, why do so many evangelicals believe that the Messianic kingdom has already materialized or is within the power of the modern church to set up? Mega-church pastor and bestselling author Rick Warren epitomizes the "kingdom now" vocabulary and mentality that is so prevalent in the modern evangelical church, when he says:
I stand before you confidently right now and say to you that God is going to use you to change the world...I'm looking at a stadium full of people right now who are telling God they will do whatever it takes to establish God's Kingdom "on earth as it is in heaven." What will happen if the followers of Jesus say to Him, "We are yours?" What kind of spiritual awakening will occur? (italics added). [1]
Is there a biblical basis for such a "kingdom-now" belief? Interestingly, the same handful of New Testament texts that seemingly teach a present kingdom are routinely and consistently employed in an attempt to argue for "kingdom now" theology. The purpose of this and subsequent articles is to scrutinize these few and isolated texts that "kingdom now" theologians typically use and to demonstrate their insufficiency to prove "kingdom now" theology.

The Kingdom Is at Hand

Early in the gospels, we find the expression "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" as proclaimed to the nation by John the Baptist (Matt 3:2; Mark 1:15), Christ (Matt 4:17), the Twelve (Matt 10:5-7), and the Seventy (Luke 10:1, 9, 11). The Greek verb engizo is translated "near" or "at hand." However, "kingdom now" theologians understand the phrase "at hand" to mean "here" in the sense that the kingdom has already arrived. [2] However, such an interpretation is controversial and is hardly a foregone conclusion. James 5:8-9 uses the identical verb engizo to communicate the nearness or any moment expectation of the Lord's coming. These verses say, "You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door." Here, not only is the verb engizo translated "near" used that is also used in the early-Gospel expression "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand," but so is the identical parsing of this same verb. In all of these instances, the verb engizo appears as a third person singular perfect active indicative. Virtually no one interprets James 5:8-9 as conveying the Lord's presence or arrival. Rather, all understand the passage as describing His imminent nearness or any-moment appearance. Thus, why should the same verb and parsing in the expression "for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" not be given the same rendering of the kingdom's imminent nearness rather than its presence or arrival? In other words, if the grammatical structure of James 5:8-9 conveys the imminency and nearness of the Lord's coming, then consistency dictates that the same grammatical structure in the expression "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" also depicts the kingdom's imminent nearness rather than its arrival. Toussaint notes that the perfect tense employed in all of these verses communicates "that the kingdom had drawn near and was then in a condition of nearness." [3] William Lane similarly notes, "The linguistic objections to the proposed rendering 'has come' are weighty, and it is better to translate 'has come near.'" [4]
Furthermore, the fact that the word "kingdom" in the expression "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" is given no detailed explanation in these verses must mean that John, Christ, the Twelve, and the Seventy are drawing upon information already revealed about the kingdom in the Old Testament. Thus, they are offering to Israel what the Old Testament reveals concerning the kingdom. [5] As explained throughout this series, the Old Testament consistently depicts the kingdom in earthly, terrestrial terms. The Jews of Christ's day, who were well familiar with this Old Testament understanding, were similarly anticipating an earthly, literal kingdom.
The ministry of the incarnate Christ never altered this earthly expectation. Not only did the disciples believe that Christ was going to restore the kingdom to Israel (Acts 1:6), but the mother of James and John also requested that her sons be given places of prominence with the earthly kingdom's establishment (Matt. 20:20-21). Because the request in Matthew 20 and the inquiry of Acts 1 both transpired late in Christ's ministry, it is unlikely that the disciples had a mistaken understanding of the kingdom at this point. They had already heard Jesus teach extensively about the kingdom and had already been blessed by Christ for their insight into the kingdom (Matt. 13:11-17). [6]
Interestingly, in the events surrounding both Matthew 20:20-21 and Acts 1:6, Christ never issued a rebuke due to a faulty understanding or expectation of a future, earthly kingdom. Rather, in Matthew 20, His only correction to the mother of James and John related to her failure to consider that the cross precedes the crown (Matt. 20:22-23). Similarly, in Acts 1, His only correction of the disciples involved their misunderstanding concerning the timing of the establishment of the Davidic kingdom, not the fact of its ultimate fulfillment (Acts 1:7). In neither case did Christ challenge their common expectation that a future, earthly kingdom would ultimately become a reality. All of this background shows that the phrase "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" could hardly represent an inauguration of a spiritual kingdom in Christ's early ministry.
In sum, far from teaching that the kingdom had now arrived in a spiritual sense, the expression "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" merely communicates that the Old Testament expectation of an earthly kingdom had drawn near in the person of Christ. Had the nation enthroned Christ (Deut. 17:15), what the Old Testament predicted concerning an earthly kingdom would have become a reality not only for Israel but also for the entire world. As long as Christ was present amongst first-century Israel offering them the kingdom, it was in an imminent state of nearness. This reality is an entirely different matter from saying that the kingdom was present or had arrived. Unfortunately, "kingdom now" theologians miss the true import of the early-Gospel expression "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" by instead arguing that the kingdom is here rather than near. In actuality, in Christ's early ministry, the opposite was true. This conclusion comes from carefully noting the grammar of the passages as well as the common understanding of "kingdom."

Important Thoughts.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Hi Folks!
Well, this short entry pokes a few big holes in the baloney sold by MOST so-called 'Christian' religions.....called, "CHINO's [Christians in name only].  Those religionists never even read the Bible, let alone studied it, or they are just lying to 'control' their hapless followers/ prisoners.  RED FLAG about poor, false doctrine, churches...  1.  If the church you attend does not even have Bibles near the seats, pews,  or if church followers/ attendees don't bring in their own, personal Bibles -- BEWARE!  It NOT a Bible teaching church!!   2.  If a church does not suggest or encourage you to bring in your own Bible...  BEWARE, it's not a Bible friendly church!   Run.. don't just walk away from that church !   And, Friends, I know you heard all this before, but we have so LITTLE TIME LEFT in this ungodly system of Satan!   Things WILL get a lot worse.  The Rapture WILL come.   Don't be "Left Behind !"
Where as "True, Bible based Christianity"  is not a 'religion' -- but a LIFE STYLE;  Teaches and motivates through pure LOVE from God and Grace divine!    It's true that we are still sinners as long as we live on this Earth, until we either die, or get Raptured up to heaven, even though we may try hard to remain spotless -- and we well ought to strive to be perfect to prepare for heaven and set a proper example to others, for Jesus' sake.
No matter how hard we believe or wish, or want to make something so --the words of the KJV Bible are the final say.  The very last WORD, one way or another, and we can't have it both ways!!   If the Word of God says ONE THING, and ONE WAY, we had better listen and heed what is said....  or go against God, Himself, and thereby earn the name of 'devil' [Devil means rebel.].    The bible is never wrong, and "God cannot lie." ~Titus 1:2.
My own mother keeps telling me, 'that I should not preach, teach or share the Bible with other people, because I was a wild, crazy sinner man in my younger days.   She is wrong, for just the reasons listed in the good article suggested in this very post !!  I have repented of my evil ways, study the Word daily, and resolve to NOT sin any more, as best as an imperfect man can.....  duh.  And my old time friends sure can notice a big change in me from 30 years ago.   Ha!  My wife, Terri, is getting the "refined version" of wild Tommy Schuckman, and...  good for her!   PTL.  Praise the Lord.

I also need to mention all the good people who just lost their family, homes, etc., in Oklahoma today.... killer tornadoes!  --  so sorry.  May the Lord protect, house and feed them, and give them SOME peace of mind.  Amen.

I told Terri today, as she bought some more flowers to dress up the outside of the  house, that she [and we] could lose EVERYTHING, in a heart beat!!   So, don't stick all the money in the house, house, house, and get your real priorities straight... PLEASE!
And because of the big rise in gas and diesel fuel, we can expect everything else to shoot up in price this Summer and Fall too!   All my closer friends in the "inner circle" already know these hard facts, as we prepare for the 'storm.'

We also had a bear attack a man-- bit him- last week, near where we live in the U.P., but we normally walk like a tiger U.P. here and know what to expect, I pray.... LOL.  Ha!  I can't walk very fast--bad knees and legs --Disabled, but I take my trusty hound dog, "Deuce" - the Rottweiler, but he is getting old too.  Terri wanted to buy another Rotty- female, play mate for Deuce, and I wonder if I should have jumped at the idea.... hummmm.    We have so many animals now in the house... and they need to eat too.

Warm Regards, and count your many blessings tonight,
Tommy Schuckman.       --Below, 1st Picture:  Terri and Tom.  IM-MI.  Happily married !

Will Having Sex Keep Me From The Rapture? Follow Up

Q. Re: Will Having Sex Keep Me From The Rapture? My Bible says, ” fornicators will not inherit The Kingdom of God” 1 Cor. 6:9. Another litany of sins followed by “those who practice such things shall not inherit The Kingdom of God” is found in Gal.5:19-21 The Bible is very specific on our behavior (actions) that keeps us from The Kingdom of God. Paul calls them ‘the deeds of the flesh’. In 1 Cor. 6:11 Paul goes on to say, “such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our GOD.” How could a person who practices such as these be in The Kingdom of God?

A. The Pharisees thought because they didn’t commit any sinful acts they were more deserving of Heaven those who did. Jesus went to great lengths to explain that even their righteousness would not qualify them for the Kingdom (Matt. 5:20). He said a careless thought (Matt. 5:22, 28) or word (Matt. 12:36-37) would convict them as surely as a careless deed. And James 2:10 says that even one violation of one commandment makes us guilty of all.
A look at the clearest verses in the New Testament show us that the single requirement for salvation is the belief that Jesus died for our sins and rose again (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10, 1 Cor. 15:1-4, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:4-7). It further states that from the moment we believe, God places His seal of ownership on us and puts His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance. From that time on we are His and no power in Heaven or on Earth can change that (Ephes 1:13-14, 2 Cor. 1:21-22, Romans 8:38-39)
Romans 3:21-24 says our righteousness is from God and is by faith. 2 Cor. 5:17 says if we’re in Christ we’re a new creation, and 2 Cor. 5:21 says the Lord’s death has made us as righteous as God is. Hebrews 10:12-14 says His one sacrifice has made us perfect forever. None of this comes to us because of what we do but because of what we believe. In short, there is no behavior that can keep a born again believer from the Kingdom of God.
When we read the “litany of sins” in 1 Cor. 6:9-10 and Gal. 5:19-21 and apply God’s standard which makes even a careless thought, word, or deed grounds for conviction, we can see that no one could escape condemnation. But 1 Cor. 6:11 differentiates between the saved and the unsaved. We have been washed (made clean) sanctified (set apart) and justified (rendered innocent). These are one time acts that result in a permanent change in our status, and once that happens God no longer counts our sins against us (Romans 7:18-20). Otherwise all the statements above would be untrue, because we all continue to sin.
Please remember that I advised the questioner to stop having premarital sex because her behavior was grieving the Holy Spirit. But according to the clear word of Scripture, she is not in danger of losing her salvation.
