The Sound that Binds.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Good Day!   Friends and Readers"

Today is a 'treat' sent to me by an old, worthy, fine Warrior and friend,  Jim Hood, from one of the Carolinas, who had the kindness of including little, old, humble ME,  Tommy Schuckman,  with this fine, well written piece of literature about the War in Vietnam, the Americans who flew DAILY in their Helicopters, myself included, when we were young, but well trained in warfare. and our MOS's [duties, jobs, professions] and skilled in our work.
Father in Heaven, please bless each and every one of us, Old Soldiers,  Gunners, Chiefs, and Pilots;   Heap upon us your Mercy and Salvation, through Jesus,   His shed blood, alone.   Amen.

I am the soldier on the Left,  Tom Schuckman, with two buddies, at the EM Club, after a long day, flying, having a cold drink.

 The Sound that Binds

Unique to all that served in Vietnam is the UH1H helicopter. It was both devil and angel and it served as both extremely well. Whether a LRRP, US or RVN soldier or civilian, whether, NVA, VC, Allied or civilian, it provided a sound and sense that lives with us all today. It is the one sound that immediately clears the clouds of time and freshens the forgotten images within our mind. It will be the sound track of our last moments on earth. It was a simple machine-a single engine, a single blade and four man crew-yet like the Model T, it transformed us all and performed tasks the engineers and designers never imagined. For soldiers, it was the worst and best of friends but it was the one binding material in a tapestry of a war of many pieces.

The smell was always hot, filled with diesel fumes, sharp drafts accentuated by gritty sand, laterite and anxious vibrations. It always held the spell of the unknown and the anxiety of learning what was next and what might be. It was an unavoidable magnet for the heavily laden soldier who donkey-trotted to its squat shaking shape through the haze and blast of dirt, stepped on the OD skid, turned and dropped his ruck on the cool aluminum deck. Reaching inside with his rifle or machine gun, a soldier would grasp a floor ring with a finger as an extra precaution of physics for those moments when the now airborne bird would break into a sharp turn revealing all ground or all sky to the helpless riders all very mindful of the impeding weight on their backs. The relentless weight of the ruck combined with the stress of varying motion caused fingers and floor rings to bind almost as one. Constant was the vibration, smell of hydraulic fluid, flashes of visionary images and the occasional burst of a ground-fed odor-rotting fish, dank swampy heat, cordite or simply the continuous sinuous currents of Vietnam's weather-cold and driven mist in the Northern monsoon or the wall of heated humidity in the southern dry season. Blotting it out and shading the effect was the constant sound of the single rotating blade as it ate a piece of the air, struggling to overcome the momentary physics of the weather.

To divert anxiety, a soldier/piece of freight, might reflect on his home away from home. The door gunners were usually calm which was emotionally helpful. Each gun had a C ration fruit can at the ammo box clip entrance to the feed mechanism of the machine gun. The gun had a large circular aiming sight unlike the ground pounder version. That had the advantage of being able to fix on targets from the air considerably further than normal ground acquisition. Pears, Apricots, Apple Sauce or Fruit Cocktail, it all worked. Fruit cans had just the right width to smoothly feed the belt into the gun which was always a good thing. Some gunners carried a large oil can much like old locomotive engineers to squeeze on the barrel to keep it cool. Usually this was accompanied by a large OD towel or a khaki wound pack bandage to allow a rubdown without a burned hand. Under the gunners seat was usually a small dairy-box filled with extra ammo boxes, smoke grenades, water, flare pistol, C rats and a couple of well-worn paperbacks. The gun itself might be attached to the roof of the helicopter with a bungi cord and harness. This allowed the adventurous gunners to unattach the gun from the pintle and fire it manually while standing on the skid with only the thinnest of connectivity to the bird. These were people you wanted near you-particularly on extractions.

The pilots were more mysterious. You only saw parts of them as they labored behind the armored seats. An arm, a helmeted head and the occasional fingered hand as it moved across the dials and switches on the ceiling above. The armored side panels covered their outside legs-an advantage the passenger did not enjoy. Sometimes, a face, shielded behind helmeted sunshades, would turn around to impart a question with a glance or display a sense of anxiety with large white-circled eyes-this was not a welcoming look as the sounds of external issues fought to override the sounds of mechanics in flight. Yet, as a whole, the pilots got you there, took you back and kept you maintained. You never remembered names, if at all you knew them, but you always remembered the ride and the sound.

Behind each pilot seat usually ran a stretch of wire or silk attaching belt. It would have arrayed a variety of handy items for immediate use. Smoke grenades were the bulk of the attachment inventory-most colors and a couple of white phosphorous if a dramatic marking was needed. Sometimes, trip flares or hand grenades would be included depending on the location and mission. Hand grenades were a rare exception as even pilots knew they exploded-not always where intended. It was just a short arm motion for a door gunner to pluck an inventory item off the string, pull the pin and pitch it which was the point of the arrangement. You didn't want to be in a helicopter when such an act occurred as that usually meant there was an issue. Soldiers don't like issues that involve them. It usually means a long day or a very short one-neither of which is a good thing.

The bird lifts off in a slow, struggling and shaking manner. Dust clouds obscure any view a soldier may have. Quickly, with a few subtle swings, the bird is above the dust and a cool encompassing wind blows through. Sweat is quickly dried, eyes clear and a thousand feet of altitude show the world below. Colors are muted but objects clear. The rows of wooden hootches, the airfield, local villages, an old B52 strike, the mottled trail left by a Ranchhand spray mission and the open reflective water of a river or lake are crisp in sight. The initial anxiety of the flight or mission recede as the constantly moving and soothing motion picture and soundtrack unfolds. In time, one is aware of the mass of UH1H's coalescing in a line in front of and behind you. Other strings of birds may be left or right of you-all surging toward some small speck in the front lost to your view. Each is a mirror image of the other-two to three laden soldiers sitting on the edge looking at you and your accompanying passengers all going to the same place with the same sense of anxiety and uncertainty but borne on a similar steed and sound.

In time, one senses the birds coalescing as they approach the objective. Perhaps a furtive glance or sweeping arc of flight reveals the landing zone. Smoke erupts in columns-initially visible as blue grey against the sky. The location is clearly discernible as a trembling spot surrounded by a vast green carpet of flat jungle or a sharp point of a jutting ridge, As the bird gets closer, a soldier can now see the small FAC aircraft working well-below, the sudden sweeping curve of the bombing runs and the small puffs as artillery impacts. A sense of immense loneliness can begin to obscure one?s mind as the world?s greatest theatre raises its curtain. Even closer now, with anxious eyes and short breath, a soldier can make out his destination. The smoke is now the dirty grey black of munitions with only the slightest hint of orange upon ignition. No Hollywood effect is at work. Here, the physics of explosions are clearly evident as pressure and mass over light.

The pilot turns around to give a thumbs up or simply ignores his load as he struggles to maintain position with multiple birds dropping power through smoke swirls, uplifting newly created debris, sparks and flaming ash. The soldiers instinctively grasp their weapons tighter, look furtively between the upcoming ground and the pilot and mentally strain to find some anchor point for the next few seconds of life. If this is the first lift in, the door gunners will be firing rapidly in sweeping motions of the gun but this will be largely unknown and unfelt to the soldiers. They will now be focused on the quickly approaching ground and the point where they might safely exit. Getting out is now very important. Suddenly, the gunners may rapidly point to the ground and shout “GO” or there may just be the jolt of the skids hitting the ground and the soldiers instinctively lurch out of the bird, slam into the ground and focus on the very small part of the world they now can see. The empty birds, under full power, squeeze massive amounts of air and debris down on the exited soldiers blinding them to the smallest view. Very quickly, there is a sudden shroud of silence as the birds retreat into the distance and the soldiers begin their recovery into a cohesive organization losing that sound.
On various occasions and weather dependent, the birds return. Some to provide necessary logistics, some command visits and some medevacs. On the rarest and best of occasions, they arrive to take you home. Always they have the same sweet sound which resonates with every soldier who ever heard it. It is the sound of life, hope for life and what may be. It is a sound that never will be forgotten. It is your and our sound.

Logistics is always a trial. Pilots don?t like it, field soldiers need it and weather is indiscriminate. Log flights also mean mail and a connection to home and where real people live and live real lives. Here is an aberrant aspect of life that only that sound can relieve. Often there is no landing zone or the area is so hot that a pilot?s sense of purpose may become blurred. Ground commander?s beg and plead on the radio for support that is met with equivocations or insoluble issues. Rations are stretched from four to six days, cigarettes become serious barter items and soldiers begin to turn inward. In some cases, perhaps only minutes after landing, fire fights break out. The machine guns begin their carnivorous song. Rifle ammunition and grenades are expended with gargantuan appetites. The air is filled with an all-encompassing sound that shuts each soldier into his own small world-shooting, loading, shooting, loading, shooting, loading until he has to quickly reach into the depth of his ruck, past the extra rations, past the extra rain poncho, past the spare paperback, to the eight M16 magazines forming the bottom of the load-never thought he would need them. A resupply is desperately needed. In some time, a sound is heard over the din of battle. A steady whomp whomp whomp that says; The World is here. Help is on the way. Hang in there. The soldier turns back to the business at hand with a renewed confidence. Wind parts the canopy and things begin to crash through the tree tops. Some cases have smoke grenades attached-these are the really important stuff-medical supplies, codes and maybe mail. The sound drifts off in the distance and things are better for the moment. The sound brings both a psychological and a material relief.

Wounds are hard to manage. The body is all soft flesh, integrated parts and an emotional burden for those that have to watch its deterioration. If the body is an engine, blood is the gasoline.-when it runs out, so does life. It's important the parts get quickly fixed and the blood is restored to a useful level. If not, the soldier becomes another piece of battlefield detritus. A field medic has the ability to stop external blood flow-less internal. He can replace blood with fluid but it?s not blood. He can treat for shock but he can't always stop it. He is at the mercy of his ability and the nature of the wound. Bright red is surface bleeding he can manage but dark red, almost tar-colored, is deep, visceral and beyond his ability to manage. Dark is the essence of the casualty?s interior. He needs the help that only that sound can bring. If an LZ exists, its wonderful and easy. If not, difficult options remain. The bird weaves back and forth above the canopy as the pilot struggles to find the location of the casualty. He begins a steady hover as he lowers the litter on a cable. The gunner or helo medic looks down at the small figures below and tries to wiggle the litter and cable through the tall canopy to the small up-reaching figures below. In time, the litter is filled and the cable retreats -the helo crew still carefully managing the cable as it wends skyward. The cable hits its anchor, the litter is pulled in and the pilot pulls pitch and quickly disappears-but the retreating sound is heard by all and the silent universal thought-There but for the Grace of God go I-and it will be to that sound.

Cutting a landing zone is a standard soldier task. Often, to hear the helicopter's song, the impossible becomes a requirement and miracles abound. Sweat-filled eyes, blood blistered hands, energy-expended and with a breath of desperation and desire, soldiers attack a small space to carve out sufficient open air for the helicopter to land. Land to bring in what?s needed, take out what?s not and to remind them that someone out there cares. Perhaps some explosives are used-usually for the bigger trees but most often its soldiers and machetes or the side of an e-tool. Done under the pressure of an encroaching enemy, it?s a combination of high adrenalin rush and simple dumb luck-small bullet, big space. In time, an opening is made and the sky revealed. A sound encroaches before a vision. Eyes turn toward the newly created void and the bird appears. The blade tips seem so much larger than the newly-columned sky. Volumes of dirt, grass, leaves and twigs sweep upward and are then driven fiercely downward through the blades as the pilot struggles to do a completely vertical descent through the narrow column he has been provided. Below, the soldiers both cower and revel in the free-flowing air. The trash is blinding but the moving air feels so great. Somehow, the pilot lands in a space that seems smaller than his blade radius. In reverse, the sound builds and then recedes into the distance-always that sound. Bringing and taking away.

Extraction is an emotional highlight of any soldier?s journey. Regardless of the austerity and issues of the home base, for that moment, it is a highly desired location and the focus of thought. It will be provided by that familiar vehicle of sound. The Pickup Zone in the bush is relatively open or if on an established firebase or hilltop position, a marked fixed location. The soldiers awaiting extraction, close to the location undertake their assigned duties-security, formation alignment or LZ marking. Each is focused on the task at hand and tends to blot out other issues. As each soldier senses his moment of removal is about to arrive, his auditory sense becomes keen and his visceral instinct searches for that single sweet song that only one instrument can play. When registered, his eyes look up and he sees what his mind has imaged. He focuses on the sound and the sight and both become larger as they fill his body. He quickly steps unto the skid and up into the aluminum cocoon. Turning outward now, he grasps his weapon with one hand and with the other holds the cargo ring on the floor-as he did when he first arrived at this location. Reversing the flow of travel, he approaches what he temporarily calls home. Landing again in a swirl of dust, diesel and grinding sand, he offloads and trudges toward his assembly point. The sounds retreat in his ears but he knows he will hear them again. He always will.

No More Green Giant Veggies !

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Destruction Or Torment?

Q.  I heard a teaching on a TV show called “It Is Written.”  The speaker claimed that hell has an end. That at the 2nd death, hell will be burned up, and all that are in it will cease to exist.   Is the 2nd death after the Great White Throne Judgment, at the end of the Millennium? Will hell cease to exist at that time, with those in it destined to non-existence?

A.  “It is Written” is a production of the 7th day Adventist Church, for the purpose of explaining the official position of that group.
Rev. 20: 11-15 describes the judgment of the unsaved at the end of the Millennium.  At this judgment they will be raised from death, the sea, and Hades (Hell) and will be judged according to their works. Then death and Hades will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.
The Lake of Fire is not a method of destruction, like a vast incinerator. If  it was there would be no purpose in judging the unsaved according to what they had done (Rev. 20:13).  It is a place of eternal torment.
Many people don’t realize that Hades (Hell) is a temporary place where the the unsaved dead go to await the final judgment at the end of the Millennium.  After that judgment, those whose names are written in the book of life will enter eternity where there will be no more death and no more unbelievers.  Those whose names are not in the book of life will go into the Lake of fire (Rev. 20:15).

Hello Friends, and Followers of TOM'S JOURNAL !

We just got back from our "mini-vacation" today from S.E. Wisconsin,  Union Grover, WI.,  --of visiting family, friends, my old church, buying clothes from the Big Stores in  the big cities, and terrible, crazy traffic/ grid-lock, and fancy restaurants like Red Lobster, etc.   I never slept better than down in my old house, where Terri still did a lot of hard work carrying out the trash, cleaning and saving a few things to carry back to 'OUR Home' in the U. P., but no TV down there, just a few great radios... and my old bed was smaller.... LOL, but great for good sleep and cuddling.   My old pastor George Schleigel, was happy and gracious to  me, with warm words of 'welcome' too -- as the people down there wanted to see my new bride, Terri, but too many of my 'old friends'  seemed to be missing that day... and maybe THEY were also on vacations.
But... no body kept up with my long, tall lawn cutting fort 2 whole months, as I was so upset and disappointed to see some of the grass a foot long!!   No wonder the old house didn't sell yet !  Heck!  If no body wanted to cut my lawn down there,  they could have at least notified me !!!   It's hard to find real men, and real friends these days....And there are too few real Veterans around anymore either to depend on.  Mostly Veterans still "Keep their Words."
But a curious thing happened while we were down there...  a happy couple went by there and upon seeing the freshly cut lawn, that I, personally 'contracted'  --bribed  $$$$  to get mowed,   decided to just knock at the door to see if they could 'see the place' [as they drove by my old "For Sale" house in Union Grove, WI  53182, but for some reason, they could never contact any Realtors to gain entrance for viewing.....  duh, but they liked the house so much and we all exchanged phone numbers and I gave their number to my own realtor also....    so maybe things went our way for a reason!    Actually, I was sleeping early that evening, being tuckered out by the heat and running around, so Terri woke me up and I put on some pants, etc., so the couple looked around and heard about all the improvements I made to the 100 year old place that no tornado could blow down.
After Terri bought me $165. worth of clothes from a big and tall men's shop [so I would not walk around dressed like a bum...ha! --in just black sweat pants, etc.], and we got most of our business done, I told Terri that she could shop till she dropped and go explore the local area --- but stay on the 'beaten path.'    And she did just that!!   My good, beautiful, Terri deserves all of that and then MORE!!  She is very hard working, and unfortunately, I found out the hard way recently that I depend on her for almost everything now days, for physical things.....   grrrrrrr, I  feel so helpless these day, out of breath all the time, and my legs lock up, full of lactic acid, and I can't walk for any long distances.   That sure does hurt my pride a lot, having been very athletic and a power lifter most of my adult life !!!  Yes, I know I need to lose a lot more weight and tried many diets already, and my wife can tell you all that I don't eat much these days...  mostly 2 pieces of toast for breakfast and not too much for dinner either.    On the other hand, we all know that God's Rapture isn't too far off, and maybe the good living on vacation may have been our 'Last Supper', for all we know....  but I am leaving all that up to the Lord.   As for ME,  I will just be working on MY OWN faults and challenges.   But I thought our short get away was very romantic, full of love and tenderness and fun for both of us !   Praise the Lord !
We went to visit my old, dear Mom and brought her some groceries, had a good time there, although I was acting goofy, trying to be funny.   And I saw some different pictures from her family that I've never seen before, so she promised to ship a copy of them to me.     Being legally blind in her mid-80's, Mom depends of my sister,  Linda, for most of her help in getting around and taking care of business... PTL, too.    I have ALWAYS OFFERED to help my Mom, but she has always decided to 'use' Linda for transportation, instead.    So, we are all thankful to my sister, Linda M. Breuer, or Burlington, WI., who used to be the Nation  President of the Autism Society, as one of her son's was stricken with that disorder in life.   Her other 2 children have risen to lofty positions in life, after much hard work, including David, who graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy, and shook hands with President G.W. Bush!   I THINK that David always liked and respected me, being an old Combat Veteran from Vietnam: 68-70.   But my young nephew, Joe Erwin, was my special favorite, Soldier, now home, in one piece, from Afghanistan, Artilleryman.  [Cannon -cocker -- Vietnamese War --U.S. Army slang...]    PTL.    I kind of wish he would write or contact me..... email:   tschuckman@aol.com

I want to pass on a bit of info that I feel is true and complete:  the bad news about the Chinese dumping their contaminated fish and veggies on the U.S. Market for us to gag on, and our 'great and wonderful illegal alien in the WH who will do nothing to stop these crimes.... LOL.  What a mean game of who's got who by the short hairs, and the bully's on the block.   Well, we can boycott other countries and dirty producers of "food" with our money/ pocket books, believe it or not !!   Go figure!   I will be looking at the labels from now on, too !

Have a great, happy, blessed day!

Warm Regards,
Tommy Schuckman

I sure miss my motorcycle --- but I know now that I could not ride one if I had one, with my messed up legs and back.....   God has chosen something else for me, and don't I know it  finally, now more so than ever !!  Thank God for my pretty wife and soul mate, Terri M. Schuckman!

Scary. I don’t think I will buy Green Giant frozen vegetables anymore.

This is pretty disgusting, but important!

This is sad that our country has relied on China for way to many things. It’s time we do start relying on our own country to supply our needs.

DO NOT EAT TILAPIA

Greetings and Salutations...
I read several articles on Google about this, and even one that was defending the eating of tilapia said to avoid the fish that came from China. Also, I had just returned home from buying Publix & Albertson's 4-day special of 4 bags of frozen tilapia for the price of one. Sure enough, on the top of the bags, it read "farm raised", and on the bottom in small print it said, "China".

I recently saw a Food inspector on TV... He said he had lived overseas and he had seen the filthy conditions their foods are raised and processed in.

It is enough to make you throw up. Some foreign workers have to wear masks as they work in these places, because
the food is so rotten and filthy, it makes them want to throw up. Many of their Fish on Fish Farms are fed Raw sewage daily. He said he has seen so much filth throughout their food growing and processing that he would "never" eat any of it. They raise this filth , put some food coloring and some flavorings on it, then they ship it to the USA for YOU to consume and feed to YOUR families. They have no Food & Safety Inspectors. They ship it to you to buy and poison your families and friends.

Imported food we eat and the junk we buy

Green Giant frozen vegetables are from China , and so are most of Europe's Best.

Arctic Gardens are Okay. So is Birdseye.

Never buy the grocery store garlic unless it is clearly marked from USA or Canada, the other stuff is grown in people poop (even worse than chicken poop).
China is the largest producer of garlic in the world U.S. is next.

Buy only local honey, much honey is shipped in huge containers from China and re-packed here.

Cold-FX is grown and packed in China and is full of fecal bacteria. Doesn't work anyway, big scam. If the
country of origin is not clearly marked beware.
If produce, ask an employee.

Watch out for packages which state "prepared for", "packed by" or "imported by". I don't understand the lack of mandatory
labeling, especially the produce. The country of origin should be clearly shown on the item in the store. I go to the local farmers' markets in season and keep a wary eye open the rest of the year.

Please read this very carefully, and read to the very bottom. It's important for all of us.

How is it possible to ship food from China cheaper than having it produced in the U.S. or Canada?

FOR EXAMPLE
THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM
CHINA '. SO, FOR A FEW MORE CENTS, BUY THE LIBERTY BRAND. GOLD BRAND OR THE
DOLE IS FROM CALIFORNIA
Beware, Costco sells canned peaches and pears in a plastic jar that come from China.

ALL "HIGH LINER" AND MOST OTHER FROZEN FISH PRODUCTS COME FROM CHINA OR INDONESIA .
THE PACKAGE MAY SAY "PACIFIC SALMON" ON THE FRONT, BUT LOOK FOR THE SMALL PRINT.
MOST OF THESE PRODUCTS COME FROM FISH FARMS IN THE ORIENT WHERE THERE ARE NO REGULATIONS ON WHAT IS FED TO THESE FISH.

Recently The Montreal Gazette had an article by the Canadian Government on how Chinese feed the fish: They suspend chicken wire crates over the fish ponds, and the fish feed on chicken
s--t.
If you search the Internet about what the Chinese feed their fish, you'll be alarmed; e.g., growth hormones, expired anti-biotic from humans. Never buy any type of fish or shellfish that comes from these countries:
Vietnam,
China,
Philippines.

Check this out personally. I did. Steinfeld's Pickles are made in India - just as bad!

Another example is in canned mushrooms. No-Name brand came from Indonesia.

Also check those little fruit cups. They used to be made in Canada in the Niagara region until about 2 years ago. They are now packaged in China !

While the Chinese export inferior and even toxic products, dangerous toys, and goods to be sold in North American markets, the media wrings its hands!

Yet, 70% of North Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended!

Well, duh! Why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, CANADA AND THE U.S. !

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

THINK ABOUT THIS:

If 200 million North Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar
trade imbalance resolved in our favor... fast! The downside? Some Canadian/American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory.

Just one month of trading losses will hit the Chinese for 8% of their North American exports. Then
they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness are worth it.

START NOW and don't stop.

Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are intelligent, and NOBODY can take us for granted.

America's Prophetic Disaster.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

By now, you all must know that Mr. Wilson is one of my fav. short story writers, and Bible scholars, with refreshing daily commentary and Truth!   His words, of course, are very accurate and right on target, and especially reinforce my own Mantra of:  'Keep on sharing the Word, and make disciples until the Lord takes us out of this cess pool of immorality and violence.  Everything is polluted, off course, totally illegal and against God's Laws and commandments.   "Take me Home, Father God !"     Our Father is very merciful and forgiving --- but we ought know that there is a LIMIT to His mercy!!

"If errors were what you watch, O Jah, Oh Jehovah,  who could stand ?"  ~ Psalms 130:2

"If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand ?"   ~ KJV Bible,  Psalm 130: 3

I may not post for a few days....... please pray for us.  Thanks!

America's unmitigated prophetic disaster
America is facing an unmitigated prophetic disaster. The occupant of the Oval Office continues to cause harm to US citizens and to its allies with actions that are contrary to God's laws. The entire Middle East is burning. The economy is one step away from the greatest depression. There is racial tension and division. Marriage is being abolished in favor of homosexuality. Socialized medicine threatens the financial health of the middle class. Yet as this article is written, the occupant of the Oval Office is spending millions of tax dollars vacationing at Martha's Vineyard. He even had his dog flown there separately via Marine Osprey--a hybrid aircraft that takes off like a helicopter, but flies like a plane.

Worse yet, there is no accountability. The US Congress and the Supreme Court appear to be in a state of drugged nirvana--defined as "a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self; a state of perfect happiness; an ideal or idyllic place."  These "elected" and "appointed" narcissists are so self engrossed that they have no desire to do what is right, what they were elected to do. There is no opposition to speak of to the White House and all of its insane policies and actions. Just the mere fact that there is cooperative discussion about opening the borders to illegal aliens in hopes of someday co-opting their votes is a symptom of this horrible disease causing decay of our nation.

The brainwashing of the American populace over the past generation has resulted in the acceptance, even embracing of, Marxist-Leninist ideology that undermines society by propagandizing through teaching feminism, sexual liberation, hedonism, liberation theology, globalism, normalization of homosexuality, and religion as a weakness. We have been de-moralized and destabilized through created crisis'. The solutions to the crisis'  is the normalization of taking away Constitutional rights. This has occurred through the news media, the entertainment industry, politics, education, business and, yes, even religion. The more focused on self, the faster this ideological subversion has rooted itself.

There are those who say the country is finished because of the sin it carries. Others say it is the result of the end times in which we are living. These theories may be proven true if we as Christian Americans continue to be self absorbed by church programs and self improvement theologies. We must wake out of our own nirvana bubble that has us thinking we are doing God's work when in reality we are doing busy work. Jesus turned the world upside down with 12 people. We cannot stop the march of prophecy, but we can determine our place in it by being doers of God's word. Seems to me we should be working hard to make disciples by doing what Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19, 20, "teach all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you."
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Technology Foretold.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Thank You, and Praise You, Lord, for allowing me to be born in this time period, although scary and dangerous, at least I [we] can tell and share these truths with other people who need to hear and see!!

Even today,  I have certainly learned 'New things' from Jan, but I had my Bible open to the book of Daniel lately trying to tie in all the facts and truths that "UNLOCK" Revelation.     Yes,  Daniel and Ezekiel are the 2 keys that unlock the last book of the Bible.   It's true that God allows only some of His followers/ Believers the Gift of Wisdom, Understanding and Prophecy to varying degrees,  and I am not that grand master, yet, but I study a lot !!   I figure that I ought to understand something well enough to TEACH IT in this humble blog..... PTL.  The local [not loco] pastor helps me too.

OK, out to get some sun shine now.

Tom

Note from Jan: Most of us have a love-hate relationship with today's technology. It changes literally every 24 hours. Our brains are weary from trying to constantly wrap it around the latest "upgrade" of you-fill-in-the-blank. Technology fails us regularly and our most cherished thoughts and memories can suddenly vanish only to spend the rest of time in cyberspace.
We have seen recently how the abuse of technology is working against everyone as the powers-that-be store data in such a sophisticated way that we wonder if someday soon they will be tapping into our secret thoughts and recording them as well. Many news items say that is in the works! There is talk of brain implants that would make mankind the "six million dollar man."
As I type this, I realize that it is probably being watched somewhere out there in real time. One slip on this keyboard and I could incriminate myself and suffer great consequences!

Remember that the Antichrist will be able to step right into this end-time technological paradise.
Technology has a bright side. Look how it is advancing the gospel! Below find comments from Nathan Jones of Dave Reagan's Lamb Lion Ministries. Nathan serves the Lord full time with his technological skills and he has authored the insights below.

People are always surprised when I tell them that as Bible prophecy foretells future events, it also reveals some interesting circumstances that would require modern technology for these events to occur. Here are some examples:

1) Increase in Knowledge - Daniel 12:4 reads, "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

These words were spoken to Daniel when he asked for an explanation of some of the end-time prophecies that had been given to him. In short, he was told that the prophecies would not be understood until the time came for them to be fulfilled. We must be living in that time because the rapid pace of modern scientific discovery is enabling us to understand Daniel's prophecies for the first time.

2) Transportation - Again, the context is from Daniel 12:4 concerning the "time of the end." The closer we get to the return of Jesus, the more people will travel faster and farther. Stop and think of how we traveled just a single century ago. We've traded our horses in for automobiles, speedboats, jets, and rockets.

3) Mark of the Beast - Revelation 13:16-17 reveals that the Antichrist will control all buying and selling in the Tribulation economy. How does he achieve this? He does so by requiring his name or number to be put physically on each person's forehead or right hand. What kind of technology could enable such a mark? Likely tattoos with magnetic ink and readers, or possibly an RFID chip. And most certainly computer networks, e-commerce and the Internet will play a part.

4) World Evangelism - Jesus in Matthew 24:14 declared, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."

Technology is playing a big part in evangelism today and will continue to do so during the Tribulation. The whole world will even witness the death and resurrection of the Two Witnesses at the mid-point of the Tribulation. That means mass communication devices such as satellites, cell systems, cameras, television, and the Internet.

5) Image of the Antichrist - Revelation 13:13-15 reveals that an image made in the likeness of the Antichrist will be given the appearance of life and be able to cause "fire to come down from heaven."

We live in the only time when this could be done with modern technology, utilizing pyrotechnics or lasers for the fire and robotics or holograms for the "living" image.

6) Population Explosion - Revelation 9:16 and 14:20 contain prophecies that at the end of the Tribulation the decimated world population will still be able to produce a two hundred million man army that originates from the East and marches to their slaughter at Armageddon. That is possible only because of the exponential population growth of today. And what has produced that? Medical technology.

7) Nuclear Weapons - Nuclear weapons are strongly suggested in horrific descriptions of future calamity such as "their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet" (Zechariah 14:12), "the sky receded like a scroll" (Revelation 6:14-15), and "men will faint from terror... for the heavenly bodies will be shaken" (Luke 21:26).

With tens of thousands of nuclear bombs sitting unused, their time is short until launching. Complex technologies such as heavy metal refinement, nuclear plants, and inter-continental ballistic missiles for deployment are involved.

8) Limits on Technology - The events of the Tribulation also give us an indication of just how far technology can be allowed to go, and it's not that much farther. Take, for example, the fact that rare earth metals vital to the construction of today's technologies are quickly running out.

Or consider the fact that future events prophesied in the Bible involve all people, but only people on this earth. That pretty well makes it clear that we will not be colonizing any moons or planets in the near future. Plus, the destruction of infrastructure and power grids along with solar disruption by the end of the Tribulation may reveal why the soldiers at Armageddon are pictured as using horses and primitive weapons. Man's technology, along with most of the earth, will have been decimated.

We live in a time like no other, where dizzying strides in technology make end-time scenarios finally a reality.

Jesus is coming soon!

In a little while, we intend to take a short 'shoe string vacation' for business and pleasure, visiting some old, dear friends South of us in SE-WI., etc.  Only the great larger stores in the "South" have what we want to shop for, like under wear... LOL.   And better eating places like Red Lobster, etc.  And then I can turn Terri loose at Farm 'n Fleet with my Credit Cards too.  Yup, most of my old, but clean under wear is so thread bare that I can read thru it, and I need better stuff, and a nice big belt, and maybe some dress pants.   I need to visit my Mom, and other relation, if they are home, and a few friends.

Let me also tell you about my power scooter from the VA... that I continually have to take it for a 2 hour journey to Escanaba, MI., to get the electrical part of the power lift fixed, but it's like the guy just puts band aides on it to work.     Time to explain that to the VA U.P. here.... but I am not complaining....  too much.
And Terri and I want to go to the local park in town today to catch a great music band, called, "Black Pearl."    I love music and live bands!  Terri has got the lawn chairs packed in the truck already.   She is working all morning on carpentry, and I need to get out too, to breathe the Summer breeze up here, at full bloom.    It's like a Paradise U.P. here now!!   And NO mosquitoes where we live because a huge bat congregation eats them up all the time!!!   Bats are good for eating many pesky insects, and I never see them fly either.   We got a bat- cave here in I.M. --- and I am staying out of it.   I got bats in my belfry anyway.

And,  I must be losing a few pounds because I fit into my PC swivel chair much better lately.   And my complexion cleared up a bit too, as I am drinking more water.   We intend to store more water too, in case of an emergency.     I don't want to be a dirty/ stinky old man... Ha!
We saw some new people at the Prayer Meeting, Wednesday evening, and that's always a welcome sight.    Pastor Kevin Sullivan works his butt off ministering to everyone's needs and cares,  IMHO.   His wife is such an angel too, and a multi-talented musician,  and a  friend to my wife.    Of course Terri gets along with almost everyone.    I would certainly have a heart attack trying to keep us with the pastor, or I would lose 100 pounds in one week.

The Psalm cited in the beginning is very important to me, and I shall also carve it into wood with my Router and hang it somewhere to encourage me.   "If errors were what you watch, O Jah, O Jehovah,  who could stand ?"       ~Psalm 130: 2.     Don't you ALL think and ponder, that if every body studied the Bible, and at least TRIED to follow Christ's teachings, that this would be a better Nation,  a better world ? ? ?   The Islamist teachings are filled with hate and MURDER,  but the USA is full of greedy, corrupt, selfish people too, many who think abortion is OK !!  And for that reason alone, ABORTION, God has the right to exterminate us.  He very well might do just that  --- but he won't destroy all of us-- because He has made a "way out to safety" for those who still love and worship Him, and follow His Son, Jesus Christ.  And that would be:  THE RAPTURE !   But let's say for a moment that the Rapture won't come for another hundred years or so....  Hey!  that's OK too, for we are Soldier for the 'duration.'    The problem is, dear friends, is that we are fast exhausting the  world's supply of WATER, and other vital natural resources,  and China is out of water almost, and many Chinese get sick all the time from polluted water.    Our forests  burn down, and the oceans are getting so polluted to --case in point, Japan, and millions of nuclear contaminated gallons poured out into the Sea, constantly, from leaks yet, still!   What I'm driving at is that this Earth will be destroyed by man if it is allowed to go on with stupid, greedy over sight !!   We can go without food a lot longer than we can go without clean, pure drinking water!  But then, the herbicides, "Round-Up", pesticides, Agent Orange, etc., are killing our bee population, like the State of Indiana is supposed to have got hit hard, etc., and without the bees we WILL STARVE!   Come on, friends, you get the picture--- things MUST change, and only GOD can do that, because for 6000 years human kind has tried every type of government, and Satan has also messed with mankind too, that dirty old rat !   I don't even care what some lying Liberal wants to say about his satanic evolution baloney!    I don't have time for silly stuff today.

Warm Regards,
Tom Schuckman

State Gun Laws.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

He's NOT My friend !!!
4 times in 69 years

Food for   thought

June 6, 2013 is the         69th anniversary of "D-Day", the largest invasion ever attempted, where         200,000 Americans stormed the beaches at Normandy to begin the final         push to defeat Nazi Germany in WWII.   D-Day marked the turning point in WWII in         Europe, where the Nazis were engaged in mass murder of Jews and         minorities by the thousands.
Today, European heads of state make it a         point to recall and honor the sacrifices of those who landed in         Normandy, as do our Presidents....well, most of them....

In the         69 years since D-Day, there are four occasions when the President of the         United States chose not to visit the D-Day Monument that honors the         soldiers killed during the Invasion.

The occasions         were:

1. Barack Obama, 2010

2. Barack Obama,         2011

3. Barack Obama, 2012

4. Barack Obama,         2013

For the past 69 years, every American President except         Obama have taken the time to honor the memory and sacrifices of the         6,000 American soldiers killed on D-Day. Except Obama.

June 6         2010, Obama had no events scheduled.

June 6, 2011, Obama met with         the National Security team and was interviewed by WEWS Cleveland and         WDIV in Detroit about the auto industry - FAR too busy to visit the         D-Day memorial.

June 6, 2012, instead of honoring our fallen         soldiers, Obama made a campaign trip to California on Air Force 1 (at         our expense) to raise funds for (his) upcoming election.

June 6,         2013, Obama is doing ANOTHER fund raiser with the multimillionaires in         the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Palo Alto CA, once again         at our expense.

Aren’t you proud?

State Gun Laws at a glance.    This is a good site to keep in touch with reality.
My pretty wife and I are still flying high after that pricy NRA gun safety course we took last Sunday, and well worth the $90 each fee !!   I strongly encourage  every true patriot take the course soon, whether you own a fire arm/ pistol, or not, and also read the great book they give you, cover to cover....  laws, self defense, gun safety, etc.,  GOOD STUFF!
But speaking about defense,  I just happen to be an edged weapons 'near-expert' and teach folks how to throw knives and tomahawks accurately, and also self defense.   I NEVER leave home without my blade... or two, and I sharpen them to a razor finish with my special $$$  machine and Arkansas Black Stone, etc.  My hands and fingers are getting old and arthritic, so I know how to use tools to open packages, etc., and also have 2 Leatherman multi-tools that can do almost anything.   I know.... men love gadgets... LOL.   I love, and highly recommend the:  ColdSteel.com    --company for some of the finest, but still economical knives, etc.   Please go there and check them out.  IF, IF, some monster or heathen pig tries to assault you, hurt you or your loved ones, and you don't have a gun handy,  AT LEAST YOU SHOULD HAVE A GOOD, RELIABLE Cold Steel brand tactical knife to protect yourself, dear friends!!   And I feel strongly about this subject.
One of the first things I did after I met and fell in love with my Terri, was to give her a good knife and a .22 LR Sig Sauer auto pistol to protect herself... and that is a pricey, fine made German pistol.   The Germans made fine, well made, precision tools, cars, motorcycles and weapons!   That smaller country ALMOST whipped the USA!    They are good people who followed, and got mesmerized by a 'silver-tongued'   evil, demonic leader.....hummmmm, kind of like US,  huh  ?!?   Sorry if the truth hurts, folks.   I predict that Obama will NOT be in office by the end of this year --- because the enormity of scandals will finally put him out of the WH.  Just my humble opinion.    So many people still don't realize the full scope of the Benghazi crime and murder!!  Hillary, and the then Dept of Defense too, guilty of TREASON!     'Nuff said.

Also, you'll be happy to know that I am vetting my subject matter more  intently  before I post it here, and so sorry for the inaccuracies before.

I would say:   Be Happy in your work and Thankful for everything you now have, because things WILL GET MUCH WORSE in the coming months, and things could change radically over night!  Obama WANTS a race war, or a poor vs: better off war, or anything that smells or looks like a massive protect ---so he can declare Martial Law, and then strip us of everything, including the 2nd Amendment !!   The Congress is complicit and guilty as sin, gutless, cowards except many THREE of them, young guys who are still free spirits, and lovers of Freedom.   You all prob know their names.   Remember that Prayer is a very powerful tool/ gift that only real Christians possess...PTL, but let us use it wisely, and not to perpetuate this wicked system we live in.....  for the Bible plainly says that things will get worse before the Rapture and the return of God.  Just read the 2 books of:  John, and the book of Romans, for a great understanding of the GOSPEL.   See:  biblefortoday.org

Warm Regards, and  Bear Hugs,
Thomas G. Schuckman
