I just LOVE "needle work" at the VA...

Here is a pic of my Nurse Practitioner giving me a shot in each knee for some serious arthritis pain-- but he can only do this every 90 days by the Milwaukee VA rules. I would be in very bad shape with out the injections... and I am tough and skilled enough to block out the pain of the long needle with my brain [imagery], but the right knee has bone on bone damage and you can hear the 'grinding' when I walk. His name is Mike Ryan,NP, and he is a nice guy and very skilled in his trade. The VA stopped giving the Veterans Bextra, Celebrex and Vioxx because those "meds" were thought to be responsible for strokes and heart attacks--- so we were left up stream without a paddle. The doctors at the VA have strongly suggested that I have knee replacement-- but I heard too many of my close friends tell me that half the time that surgery just makes things worse. I have been under the knife enough to know that I would rather avoid it if possible. Last year in a CA VA Hosp. a Veteran had his testicles removed by ACCIDENT! This stuff gets swept under the run more than we would like to think. And when I die I will keep all my 'body parts' too!! But nowdays there is news about an underground market for stolen body parts! Nothing is sacred! There are a few great doctors and nurses who work at the Milwaukee VA Hosp., but in my humble opinion [over he past 30 some years of experience] most of the staff are there strictly for the paycheck and nothing more.
And i believe that I know enough about the lies, mistakes and 'mis-action's, or lack there of -- to get me killed/ murdered. I was going to write a book about this subject but decided to just let it go. I realized that I can't cure all the WOES of the world anymore, and let some of the 'young warriors' carry that burden for a while. We Vietnam Veterans already 'walked point' , knocked down big walls and barriers, but even so-- the Va is pulling the same dog dung on our new younger troops all over again!

We both needed to get out of our small old house in our one horse town of Union Grove, WI.... pop. 4400 people. I will have to post more pix of our wonder dog, "Deuce" our service dog --Rottweiler. He is a gentleman, a clown, a constant companion and brave-heart guardian of my dear wife when I am gone. Yes, a dog will be there at your side long after a woman decides to leave you, as a good Army friend once told me. I believe that God holds a human life more precious than an animal-- but dogs and some cats have an instinct and charm that really lowers your BP and lets you relax, IMHO.
I was raised on a farm and we always had dogs and cats, beef cattle and hogs.
We went to Kenosha to visit the bank, eat some Chinese food, wash the truck, and I did a short but strong work out at the YMCA while my wife relaxed and read the local paper. We also went the store and bought more giant cans of Bush's Baked Beans to store. Sharon does such a great job of fixing baked beans and adding some secret stuff to enhance it and people just eat it up like they are starving... lol! Well, she may have her faults [don't we all?] but she is a great cook-- and I am on a diet FOREVER --Ha!
I didn't sleep to well last night [nightmares from past combat, etc., PTSD] and that Chinese lunch today made me sleepy. I am truly blessed and STILL CAN'T BELIEVE I AM RETIRED with a fairly stable income to pay my bills-- and I have take care of all the bills. Some men are truly cowards and abdicate their God given positions as head of the house and family. The children grow up 'unbalanced.' I am not saying that my job is easy -- and it would be nice if I could just pass on my duties to the wife, but she doesn't have the balance and restraint, and so someone has to hold the purse strings and balance the books. My days of wine and roses are over-- and I am still working on slowing down and being content/ satified with what we have. I used to cuss at other drivers who run me of the road and try to kill me, on their darn cell phones all the time, reading, putting on their make-up, etc., but what good am I doing... by getting myself all upset?
So--- another nice, windy Fall day and we can say we have accomplished a few things and praise God and give HIM the Glory.
In past posts I may have sounded like "Chicken Little" as far as our national economic situation. I still believe that things will get a lot worse leading to the Lord's coming. But I desperately want to be JOYFUL.
I managed to bring home 2 meaty deep fried chicken wings for the dog-- and he just LOVED ME!! 'The man and his dog' -- Autumn in Wisconsin! Coupled with my evangelism work -- I want to start encouraging people now and make them feel happy, wanted, with a feeling of self worth. So I hope I can work that into my posts in the future instead of being so serious. Pastor kindly suggested that I expect too much from average people-- and so I must 'lower my expectations.' I was raised to strive for excellence and the Army demanded it--so did all jobs that I labored at including AMC/ Chrysler for over 30 years. People have grown so lazy, lax, unstable, into drugs for pleasure/ recreation [not for real, acute medical pain]. The punks now days expect work to be "fun"... Ha! And I must learn to chill out/ kick back and go with the flow- like a dead fish, right? Not really. It's just that 90% of my close friends are starting to age with aches and pains from hard work all their lives, and I used to be able tocount on them. Now I am at the mercy of punks who can't even do the right job unless they are high on drugs, drunk and can't speak English... lol.
And like I have mentioned before, understanding the Bible is NOT the main problem... most people have not applied themselves in school so that they HAVE TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING ENGLISH !! The bible is written mostly on the 4th -5th grade level, yet most young people can't handle that! And the illegal aliens from South of the border can't read their OWN language either! OK, I will chill out and be joyful now.

I may not have been a big fan of John Denver, but I loved some of his songs. One of his less known tunes was, "Some days a diamond--some days a stone." How true! And for some of us who suffer from depression, PTSD, etc, that about sums things up for us.
Well, it was raining today, but a friend from church named Marvin, who also worked with me on the [Chrysler] line, who also was wounded in RVN ['Nam] as he served with the Marines... came over to visit with me and Sharon. Small world, huh? And then another close friend, named Robb called up to complain about the wayward announcement of Gen. Colin Powell that he turned Lefty Dem, and Robb served in Special Forces 3 years in Vietnam. Yes, I guess we tend to surround ourselves with friends of like interests and Faith-- and that makes us feel secure and warm. But I like to brag that MY friends will not let me down in a pinch and will fight for me and catch me if I fall-- and visa-versa! I always thought that it would be nice to have 100 friends or more like this-- but then I always was into 'over kill' ..lol. Technically, I do have millions of Christian brothers and sisters who should be ready to give their lives for me.
Even so Christians still fight and argue sometimes, just as Paul and Barnabas did in the 1st Century C.E. [A.D.], but they always forgave and still loved each other in the end. As things will eventually gets worse in these 'end times' [IMHO] we need to reach out and touch someone. Contact new people with the Truth of the Bible -- but stay in contact with those we hold dear in the Faith. The world speaks a lot about love-- but for the most part, they will never know the healing bond of Christian love that ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT with in them know. And of course, if one has the Holy Spirit, he/ she will exhibit the 'FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT' found at Gal. 5:22 [remember??]. Real mature Christians will most likely know their way around the bible and be able to find a scripture quickly. Memorizing all 66 books helps them get around faster too. All 3 of my kids could recite the 66 books as they bounced on my knee 30 years ago. And if they go the way of the Satan's glittery world -- at least they will have the "tools" to come back to the Lord, like the 'prodigal son.' Now days, if you have 3 children and only one stays in the Christian Faith-- you are still doing well ! Satan is a killing machine and a destroyer of souls! Beware! He is a like a 'roaring lion seeking to devour someone'.
And hey! This month just flew by in a hurry--even if we still have 2 weeks left of Oct. That's another thing about the 'end times' rat race-- people will be so caught up in every day living and surviving the poor economy that most of them will just forget about God and His promises. Scripture compares the Christian to a military soldier. He doesn't get involved in so many outside enterprises so that he forgets his primary objective-- war and battle/ guarding his post. In a way, that is a heavy burden to shoulder, but "retirement" is a 'golden parachute' FOREVER-- in heaven.
Well, here it is mid-night, and time to hit the hay in Wisconsin.

We had open house/ invite a friend at church this morning and many of our members brought their homemade beef Bar B Q, and treats for our big dinner after the services. All the food disappeared...lol. What a beautiful, windy but sunny Fall day! My wife cooked, bake and worked hard all yesterday to get things perfect. Most people know that she is a great cook.
Her and I will relax that rest of the day. I have a good friend coming over tomorrow to help me get some yard work done and perhaps build a cabinet in the back porch to organize things before Winter.

I can just imagine how much work, pressure, and responsibility our pastor has in putting together everything for the congregation each and every week. I try my hardest with my disabilities to help him when I can-- but it seems like it's the old '20/ 80 thing' where only 20% do most of the real work in any company or organization-- while the other 80% hide from work and do little except when it time to collect their paycheck or eat the food... lol. This happens to EVERY company or corporation and org. I guess the rewards in heaven will reflect this situation too. Although ALL SAVED, BIBLICAL, BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIANS will receive the crown of glory in heaven as they remain faithful--- some will probably get a better mansion. It is my earnest hope that I can put as much effort into the preaching work in my last days so as to gain something better than my wild, worldly days of unbelief. We certainly CANNOT earn or work our way to heaven -- but we can surely work hard now that we are SAVED by the blood of Jesus.
The Lord has blessed me and my wife BIG TIME as I bought this house on my own about 5 years ago in a small town, and I am blessed to have a pension and VA disability rating that helps to pay my bills and shelter me. Paul said, "Having sustenance and covering-- we shall be content." So it's time to relax and enjoy the company of Sharon this afternoon and PTL [Praise the Lord].

Well, getting back to a great comment by Corgi, she mentioned that God has every right to destroy us [USA, etc] for all the unborn babies we have aborted [murdered], and the extent that we [the lefty- libby- far left Dems-- and others who didn't get off their asses to fight them...] -- the porous borders that let in drugger, murders, rapists and kidnappers, etc, the overwhelming gay-agenda oinks who use the Media to brain wash our kids that, 'good is bad and bad is good' and just do your own thing! One of the biggest benefits of reading/ studying the Bible--especially the OT [Old Testiment] is that we learn not only the Love, Kindness of God Almighty-- but also His Wisdom and sense of JUSTICE!
It's true that God sacrificed His only begotten Son, Jesus, so that every member of mankind has the CHANCE to accept the Saviour and go to heaven. But God tells us thru His Word, the Bible, that most of mankind will choose Satan's world of glittery riches, immorality, and sinful ways. This theme is repeated all though out the OT from Adam and Eve to right now! Just like Jesus said in the book of Matt-- the last days of this world that we are living in right now...2008, will be like the days of Noah! Only 8 people out of an estimated 1 million or more survived that evil world from the deluge.
Guess what? We are all "free moral agents" and can CHOOSE to do what ever we want-- but there will come a day of true JUSTICE and accounting... and it may be soon. It will come as 'a thief in the night.' Now-- if everyone knew that day and hour-- we would probably live like the devil and then change and be good right before that day... but God doesn't want that. God promises us that He will NOT be Late concerning His promise-- even as true Christians in other countries are being tortured and killed for their steadfast Faith and Trust in Him as we speak. And they actually pray for US in America-- for all our temptations!
For the most part in America-- we have lost our spine bone and turned into jellyfish, growing fat, spoiled by our "good life" and higher standards of living... having the best of riches and freedom. We truly deserve death and 'prison in Hell' forever for our lack of Faith andTrust in Jesus! Yet, God is holding back His sword of JUSTICE until the last of His chosen believers is safe and tucked in bed. The job of ALL Christians? We are commanded to meet regularly in His name to incite Love and Fellowship, worship and bible study -- and do the very best we can to 'win souls' over to Christ and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Read 1st Timothy 3-4, "This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4. who desires ALL men to be SAVED and to come to the knowledge of the truth." NASB. If you don't know how to go about doing this... please contact me. tschuckman@aol.com And if I can't do the job-- I know many that can. I don't want to go before God's throne of Judgment one day and not be able to give a good account of myself -- after I was SAVED, like, 'what did YOU do [Tom Schuckman] [after you were saved] to help share/spread/ tell others about the Kingdom message of Jesus Christ and salvation ?? Complacinsy, laziness and fear will get you in deep water, sorry to say.
I cannot help all the bad things, poor judgment and sins in my past-- [I keep telling my unbelieving mother...]. She thinks that since I was a sinner most of my life-- these last 10 years of my being SAVED and telling others about God's salvation thru Christ-- don't count. Or I don'thave any credibility or "right" for being a sinner in the past... Ha! Ah... misery loves company....in my mother's case... lol. Many people just don't want to be accountable to ANYONE for their actions -- or lack of in-action. I know that others are battered by evil tongued relatives and "friends", just like Job's wife and "friends".... and I don't think that those unbelievers will have the last laugh. You know that Jesus spoke more about Hell than He did about Heaven?? Just read the 4 Gospels. And if you say that you just don't have the courage-- read Revelation 21: 8 and what it says about COWARDS, etc. It takes a stout heart and courage to be a soldier of Christ! But the Holy Spirit will give you everything you need after your get SAVED and get right with God.
