Our Opinions May sometimes differ from what the Bible actually says.

Take On Me: Literal Video Version

When people are kind enough to say that I am a gifted, talented, mature writer... I have to wonder then, how could I have messed up my wording so as to confuse them or give them the opposite impression that I wanted to?

Many times I highlight, underline, use ALL CAPS to put emphasis on a word of phrase and people still don't get the point -- or I am not doing the right thing. Let me put it this way, there is a big difference between quoting from the Bible to use as my highest Source as a Authority-- and just giving some one my "personal" OPINION. Well, from now on I will try hard to make a note to readers and friends which 'tool' I am using in my posts. And I well know that people can and do twist and contort the Scriptures to sell their own false agenda, but I have always prided myself to be open minded and say that: "If you can PROVE something to me WITH THE BIBLE-- I will BELIEVE IT." So you would think that I must be skilled enough and knowledgeable with my fav. book-- the Bible, huh? The bible is my bread and my meat! But I also want to be a balance man and not so rigid like some Pharasee-like, Legalistic religious Orgs., and churches. Hey! I came out of that terrible sect. org. Jehovah's Witnesses after 22 years, and I promised myself that I would never be tricked / fooled again! So I dig deep and do research.

So... here we go! My personal opinion means absolutely NOTHING! All it is --is an "educated guess" and even so-called 'great scientists' and hallowed doctors make tons of mistakes that are wrongfully taught in schools-- and medicines kill people and doctors cut off the wrong body parts and also KILL many people every single day in the USA, and world. But the Bible-- God's true, complete Word, is the highest Source/ Authority that we can teach, quote, learn from. No matter if you believe it or not-- the bible trumps all over earthly, human sources. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, " ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." [KJV] So real Christians cannot pick and choose what they want to believe, teach, preach and follow. We can't say, 'Well, I will obey all the Bible's commandments except for this one little thing-- I want 3 wives... or I just want to get drunk sometimes... or I just don't want to pay my taxes... etc, etc.'

So when I quote the bible-- it's NOT MY personal opinion or way of thinking, my bias or prejudice-- it's God talking and I am ALL ears! Kind of like the military, you know? If someone in command gives you a direct order, you better obey it in 'spirit and letter' or you could be in a Fed Prison for many years of hurt and shame!! And you could also get many fellow soldiers killed and maimed for not following orders. I don't know if I can put this more simple. I had to find some things out the hard way too. I have made some big mistakes in my life-- but following the Bible [God-Speak] has never led me down the wrong trail.

But the Devil and 'his World' tell you just the opposite! "If it feels good -- do it!" Or.. 'you owe this to yourself--go get drunk on Friday- payday and get sick, stupid or dead! Woo Woo!' "The devil says, 'why get married when you can get the 'milk' for free?!' "oh.. but I know some very nice, kind people who are Gay....so I don't believe that it's wrong..." You see, friends and readers, God said to us, "My ways is not YOUR ways."
BTW, if the Libby -Left really thinks that Islam is a nice, gentle religion of peace....lol... there would NEVER be ANY Gay people allowed alive in that demonic system... and the women would really get a surprise. You see! Ignorance will get you killed or beaten in some public square. Beware.

So, let's cap this up and conclude that other "respected" religions in the world have the FREEDOM to say or teach, or even die for their beliefs--even blowing them selves up as a human bomb. And being a [real, biblical] Christian-- I may have to die for my Faith in Jesus Christ and God's game book -- the Bible! Remember, I am NOT judging ANY BODY!! I can only see and hear what people do, and then compare their actions to what the bible says, one way or another. I am only merely REPEATING WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THESE CONTROVERSIAL SUBJECTS. Just like interpreting the law of the land --our U.S. constitution. Again-- "Never hate the Sinner-- hate the Sin." God will Judge people-- not Tom! I firmly think that some other people honestly DON'T KNOW their bibles well enough to read my Journal and give an intelligent answer or observation. They are giving their OPINIONS... and that's OK ! But that was ME many years ago-- young and very ignorant. Just like other things-- I can't just pick up my electric guitar and start playing some complicated song [although I have an Autistic nephew that just might do that...] My sister Linda B used to be President of the National Autism Society. And when the grade school teachers and Principal wanted to put her son, Kent in a "special" school, she refused and fought them for her son's rights.. and won! Holy tomato, do ya' think my mad mind challenge thing runs in the family?? Linda and Tom's other son, David graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy about 5 years ago and their daughter, Emily graduated as a 'special needs' teacher. but we all love Kent vey much and he has some very great, positive things going for him. [Personally, I think that the Persussin injections or Whooping cough shots are the real culprit for Autism-- but that is only my OPINION]. Get the picture? Good !

I honestly hope that all my friends will continue to post their honest opinions and comments on my Journal-- and I love them no matter what! I know for a fact that I am not always right-- and I need 'correction' like very other servant and Christian walking God's green earth. I love ALL of your comments and hope that more people will join my blog "followers" and get involved with comments. i also hope and pray that we 'share' our blogs with our friends, to give them a well rounded view of our facts -- and opinions, please. Most of you know that I do this thing. I am not looking for the 'lime light' so much, but my fondest hope is that some unbelievers find my Journal a help to leading him/ her toward Christ! And there is a special place in my heart for combat Veterans. I want to see them in heaven too.
************************************************************
But I also understand that there are going to be times when I will be persecuted and beset by all manner of fiery darts and missiles, and some one will ALWAYS be offended, just as Jesus and His followers had to deal with all kinds of disapproval and criticizm! As I continue to repeat myself, most things in the Bible are black and white, but there exist some things that are in the grey area -- so I don't want to push some dogmatic stuff at people that might be MY opinion, in that sense. We all come from different backgrounds and schools of teaching/ thoughts, so we might think that the way we were raised is the 'RIGHT WAY/ correct way.' My belief is that -- in most things, it's the bible way... and that IS MY WAY. I hope this is not confusing. Thanks for putting up with me lately. And thank you, Betty, for your kind correction.
****************************************************************

My wife's birthday is Dec. 4th so we celebrated it today as I took her out on a spending spree-- and out to lunch for a giant Prime Rib lunch. she is happy and tired now... lol. I cou8ld only eat half of mine so we took them home for a latter snack. Woo Woo! My dog, 'Deuce' loves me too...

"Never Hate the Sinner -- Hate the Sin."

Old Soldier Tom's Journal.
http://heli-gunnertom.blogspot.com/

Norman Greenbaum - Spirit In The Sky

  1. Remember this old hippie-type song form the 1970's [above] ? One verse went like: 'Never hate the sinner--hate the sin..' I believe that is the defining truth that encompasses one of our core Christian values/ beliefs. If a person walked into OUR church near Kenosha, WI., I know the pastor well enough from listening to his sermons for the past 7 years [not like Obama... lol..Ha!] and his mind set/ biblical teachings. The pastor would NEVER attempt to 'kick out or run out someone who is a homosexual! It's just a sin like lying, stealing, murder, adultery, etc. Sometimes new people at our church were/ are so over joyed to be there and feel the Holy Spirit working in their lives-- that they would stand up and thank Him in an orderly way, for getting them off Heroin/ other drugs, bad circumstances, etc., but Jerry Beaver [the pastor] would quickly but kindly say, 'you don't have to confess all your sins here, now, in public.' That is too personal and private at this time. He probably knows other "new" immature Christians that still have much work to do on their goofy, ignorant prejudices. Even so, some folks in church are NOT allowed to baby sit or teach children because of documented emotional and mental disorders -- and legally for insurance/ liability purposes. Those things may hurt feelings - but they are really legal and common sense issues.
What ever the sin-- it is forgiven when that person accepts Jesus Christ as his/ her Personal Lord and Savior-- past, present and future!! When a person first [or finally] realizes and understands how merciful and forgiving the Lord is-- they are many times cut to the heart and get emotional. They are 'SAVED by the BLOOD of Jesus ~!' That does NOT mean that they will forever walk the earth sinless and pure, perfect until they die. They will continue to sin as they walk daily in/ with the Lord-- but the Holy Spirit will be with them to resist the machinations of the devil. However, big gross sins need to be a thing of the past and extra hard effort needs to be applied so that the other brothers and sisters have no fear of him-- and a brotherly love and trust is self evident. That is the way a family should be--clean. That is the way I understand it. And yes, it does take more 'will power' for some to achieve a higher state of earthly "goodness - cleanliness." Personally, I have worked on certain personality flaws, imperfections and BAD HABITS/ SINFUL TENDENCIES ALL MY LIFE !! And I am humbled and ashamed that I have made LITTLE progress on some of those sinful inclinations. Others I have conquered, and that's a good feeling! So I know it can be done! It's like quitting drinking of booze or tobacco. NO ONE EVER DIED FOR LACK OF A CIGARETTE! I smoked [everything] for 5 whole year of my life, especially while in the Army and in combat [as some "things" actually grew wild near our aircraft run way in Vietnam.. and I never had to pay for it] and I loved it! But I quit smoking when I was about 22 years of age and never looked back. One of the "rules" I strongly disagree with and that the Baptists push is their stand on [even] moderate drinking of wine and beer. There is a time and place for everything, and I know what it means to "stumble" a 'young one.' The Bible does NOT condemn moderate drinking of wines and spirits. But it surely IS a Bad Sin to get DRUNK!! [but then I know a whole lot of hypocrites who DON'T drink who are STUPID jerks.. LOL] The good Baptists and other religions must think that--since there has been so much damage, abuse, crimes and stupidity from the act of drunkenness and drinking [true enough] that every Christian should never touch a drop. IMHO, that is going 'beyond the scriptures.' Then they try to play with the Greek words for 'grape juice' , etc. Listen! I used to brew and ferment my own wine and beer when I came back from 'Nam, and have studied it and the Bible's comments about this subject! Over in the Holy Land area, if you would just let fresh grape juice set in some vessel for 3 days , in that heat and humidity-- it will automatically ferment and turn to wine!! There is yeast on the skin of the grape. I have many solid scriptures to support these facts about wine and moderate, sensible consumption, and it is also a sin to manipulate, twist or add to the scriptures! Proper BALANCE is the Key... like most everything else.

But I totally understand the real dangers of alcohol and drunkenness, and drugs. It has ripped families apart and traumatized men, women and children, for sure! Some people ought NOT to drink at all-- but I cannot make that judgment towards someone else. As for me, I don't ever get drunk anymore, and if I never drank wine again, it wouldn't be any great loss. But in moderation-- it can help take the edge off many types of pain and help a person digest
food and help the heart, etc. And would it make sense to say that Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine? Or would it make sense for the Pharisees to point to Jesus and accuse Him of sitting down with the sinners and drinking 'grape juice ??'
I know that some 'misguided church members' would use the Greek word, Pharmakiea, that means sorcery to condemn the use of alcohol.... but then they would also have to ban use of good medicinal drugs that good doctors prescribe. Yes, I agree that some people get so drunk that they leave their brain a complete vacuum, so that evil demons can "take over" that person and make his do bad things of torment, etc., and in that understanding the word 'Pharmakiea' WOULD be the correct rendition. I could go on and on-- but I hope you all get the idea.

I was hoping to make the case before that Christians do NOT HATE Homosexuals. But that sin, if practiced unrepentantly will send a person to hell, the same as any other major sin that is 'practiced' without true repentance and a desire to quit--with the help of God. That obviously goes for every other gross sin that some one 'PRACTICE ES .' But in the case of adultery, fornication and homosexuality-- it only takes ONE TIME to get infected with some STD or AIDS!! Beware! The Lord knows what is best for us-- and He would never hold something back from us that is honestly good. There is a good reason why God gives us His commandments and statutes. Just like giving the roaming Israelites [40 years in the wilderness]the command NOT to eat pork while they were under the Mosaic Law Covenant. Do you think they would have understood the word, "tricanosis?" Instead God used the term, "unclean animal."
Remember: "Never hates the Sinner -- hate the Sin."

Your Constructive Criticism and Comments are most welcome.

Good Sermon -- and Snow!

Old Soldier Tom's Journal.
http://heli-gunnertom.blogspot.com/

The wet snow has finally come to South East Wisconsin, and that is when I truly love my Dodge Ram 4 by 4 pick up truck! Actually, I like 'the perfect snow storm' and disasters [that don't hurt people] but just make things inconvenient and troublesome, like 12 inches of snow with cold temps and wind!! Woo Hoo! That is probably because I have been a nature lover and survivalist since I was a young teenager on the farm, and Dad bought me my first .410 shotgun when I was about 14 years old. He taught my brother and I strict gun safety from the get go- the military way. His word was Law and his hands were like steel.

My wife passed me a note in church this morning that she would like to eat out after the service, so we went across town [Kenosha] to a special Mexican place [Taco El Rey] that has great burritos and tacos with extreme hot sauce and pickled peppers. It really cleans out the sinuses! We ordered more so we could have a 2nd meal at home that didn't need cooking on Sunday as we watched the Green Bay Packers football. They just don't have their act together this year... IMHO.

Pastor Jerry Beaver's Sunday morning sermon was about selfishness and how we are all guilty of wanting MORE and BETTER things in our lives that we don't really need. I took that sermon to heart as it certainly applies to me too. He said that is why our nation is in such financial straits now-- because we just whip out the 'plastic' and CHARGE! I should know better. I worked for PFS Investments with the mother company being CitiGroup. My, how they have saddened my heart recently by hurting so many of their clients and stooping to gross GREED and SELFISHNESS! And I used to think that they were better and different then the rest of the financial giants! Well, last week I terminated my last Mutual Fund with one of their Investment Companies, and I will start saving/ investing my money in 'different ways' from now on. They will not go to prison because they are in bed with powerful political entities/ politicians. Ha! What a double standard.

So we also learned about too much complaining these days.
Why are we not more handsome, thinner, richer, have a better spouse, house, car... etc. The apostle Paul said, 'having food and clothing, we hall be content.' I know too many people who attend church who are very steeped in materialism. They already live in palaces but want more to show off and/ or rub their station in life, riches in others, noses.
But these very things I can apply to myself. Application starts with me.

We are supposed to get about 6 inches of snow tonight and I can promise you that there will be a good many traffic accidents with people driving while on the cell phone and with bald tires. It happens ever year up here.

Getting Ready to Kill more of the Unborn!

Great Article forwarded to me from Krissy.

THE NEXT ADMINISTRATION: MOBILIZING FOR WAR on the PREBORN

Foreshadowing the immanent escalation of America's war on her
unborn under Barack Obama, the president-elect continues to place
prominent abortion activists in key positions in his new administration.

This may come as a shock to those foolish people who have decided
to take a wait-and-see attitude, to just "wait and see" what Obama
might do about abortion when the issue just happens to come up at
some point in the weeks and months ahead. Sorry, friends! Your
waiting game is over. The president-elect is already making abortion
not just a centerpiece of his administration but its very heart and soul.

Last weekend, Obama selected Ellen Moran to be the White House
communications director.

Moran currently speaks for the abortion establishment as the
executive director of Emily's List, a prominent political action
committee that exists solely to elect female, pro-abortion Democrats.
Emily's List recruits and trains pro-abortion women and then spends
millions of dollars a year getting them elected.

Moran's association with Emily's List began 15 years ago, in 1993.

Obama also appointed Dawn Johnsen as a member of his
Department of Justice Review Team. Johnsen was the Legal Director
for NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League) from 1988-1993.

The DOJ Review Team is charged with "assur[ing] continuity in the
faithful execution of the laws and in the conduct of the affairs of the
Federal Government."

Johnsen also worked for the American Civil Liberties Union
Reproductive Freedom Project.

She has published a number of works supporting legal abortion and
decrying even modest abortion regulations. In a 2006 article
published in Slate Magazine, Johnsen wrote, "The notion of legal
restrictions as some kind of reasonable "compromise" -- perhaps to
help make abortion "safe, legal and rare" -- thus proves nonsensical.
(The Outer Shell: The hollowing out of Roe v. Wade, January 25,
2006)

Last Monday, Obama announced that Melody C. Barnes had been
chosen as the head of the White House Domestic Policy Council,
making her, as the Washington Post put it, "the president's top
adviser on a wide range of issues."

Barnes served on the boards of Emily's List and the Planned
Parenthood [Political] Action Fund
.

Barnes served as chief counsel to Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-MA) on
the Senate Judiciary Committee. As Kennedy's chief counsel, she
was responsible for refining Kennedy's pro-abortion policies and
implementing his pro-abortion agenda.

Also a past-executive vice president of the Center for American
Progress (CAP), Barnes helped launch its "Initiative on Faith and
Public Policy," also known, in the words of National Right to
Life News
Editor Dave Andrusko, "as the ceaseless campaign to dupe
people of faith into believing that it's perfectly acceptable to vote for
pro-abortionists."

The president and chief executive officer of CAP, John Podesta, is
currently in charge of managing Obama's transition team.

Other key anti-life Obama appointments include:

Chief of Staff - Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois Emmanuel has
compile a 100% pro-abortion record, voting for partial-birth abortion,
for taxpayer funding, and against parental involvement.

Secretary of Health and Human Services - Former Senate Majority
Leader Tom Daschle Although Daschle did manage to compile a
14.5% pro-life voting record from 1997 to 2004, he voted to endorse
Roe v. Wade and he voted for a counterfeit partial-birth abortion in an
effort to derail the real thing and supported taxpayer funding of
abortion.

Head of Obama's "Council on Bioethics Review Team" - Jonathan A.
Moreno professor of "medical ethics" at the University of
Pennsylvania, Moreno is a strong advocate of human embryo-killing
research. In a July 2008 Pew Forum interview Moreno said, "The
important questions now are how much of a leadership role will the
next administration take and how efficiently will the government be
able to push this very promising field of [embryonic stem cell]
scientific research forward?"

Secretary of State - Hillary. Enough said.

Your comments are very welcome! Also, I could use a few more blog 'followers.'
Watch out for all the drunk drivers on the Holiday roads. Woo Woo!

Back to regular business-- and big spending.

Good Day! I must take this opportunity to apologize for bad mouthing my wife and her under achievements/ personality flaws and poor house keeping. Every woman is different, and having been in many relationships in my life -- taught me that fact. The same holds true for men and their evil ways/ ignorance/ bad macho attitude. Nobody is perfect--but we can't use that as an excuse for continually dropping the ball, IMHO. My wife gets SSDI, but a meager amount. It goes according to how much money you earned in your prior life time. I get much more because I have worked ALL MY LIFE. Simple, but I sure didn't write the laws. The double standard is that illegal aliens have managed [with the help of people like Obama and Pelosi] to get a bigger piece of the pie than our own LEGAL Americans, IMHO.

In our case, both of us are disabled to the point where it's hard to do the normal things like cleaning the house, walking any distance, taking care of the garden, chores, but we still do it. I honestly am very embarrassed to say that I depend on my wife to tie my shoe laces and a few other things for me and I would be up a creek if she were not here with me. One hand washes the other and most couples I know help each other. I spoil her with money and gifts-- but all I want from her is respect, love and kindness. Medication helps a little to take the edge off the pain, but then we don't want to be "space cadets" and loopy..lol. We are thankful that we have good Insurance from Chrysler and the VA [but who knows what will come down the pike]. Our Gov't has traditionally screwed the Vet's and given the free lunches to the illegal aliens and some cheating welfare recipients. I earned what I have-- I didn't STEAL it! How many folks would work on a moving assembly line for over 30 years, and then retired with a bad back and carpal tunnel in the arms and wrists, hypertension and damaged lungs from the indoor pollution from the fine mists of oils and coolants squirting our of the giant machines? And you can bet your boots that when the Company has hard times from Mismanagement, they insist on cutting our benefits no matter what the contract says!! They recently did that to us retirees last year! Still, I feel very blessed and fortunate and praise the Lord. My mom pays hundreds of dollars every month on meds, and calls me 'lucky.' Not! -- illegal aliens sucking up OUR resources are the "lucky" ones. I heard that in places like the Bahamas--there is no welfare!

So, back to 'normal' life and back to reality today after Turkey Day. And if all possible, I want to stay home and off the streets as all the crazed shoppers spend money with their plastic cards.. Woo Hoo! See what I mean, below:
*************************

Nassau County police said the 34-year-old worker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6 a.m., an hour after the store opened. The cause of death was not immediately known.
A police statement said shortly after 5 a.m., a throng of shoppers "physically broke down the doors, knocking (the worker) to the ground." Police also said a 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to a hospital for observation and three other shoppers suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospitals.
The dead worker's name was not released.
"Local authorities are looking into the situation," said Wal-Mart representative Dan Fogleman. But he said it would be "inappropriate for me to share any additional information" until authorities investigate further. Shoppers around the country lined up early outside stores in the annual bargain hunting ritual known as Black Friday. Many stores open early and stay open late. The Valley Stream Wal-Mart usually opens at 9 a.m.
***************************
I have bought some nice things for my wife, but told her that we REALLY have everything we need and want right now. I asked her repeatedly NOT to buy me anything. We are jubilant and thankful that God sent His only begotten Son to earth, but we personally don't need or want to make a big 'to-do' about the commercial Christmas thingy, please. Anyway you cut it, MOST of Americans support abortion, the Gay agenda and other extreme Left things-- or they would NOT have elected Obama. Go figure -- how can Americans say they love and celebrate Christ's birth-- and still support and vote for people and bad laws that offend God Almighty?? Hello! God is not one to be mocked! Now we shall all reap the whirl winds and I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop...Ha!

Being a Baptist [but I confess that I don't agree with EVERYTHING they teach and enforce...], I was interested in reading another Blogger's documented claim about a Texas town having forced religious views and rules in a PUBLIC school a few years ago, and thugs actually burning his house because he voiced his opinion!
I feel bad about this tragedy and will post more about it latter. Remember, "absolute power corrupts- absolutely." No one should be above the Law, yet we all know that there exits a double standard in America.
