Tom's Journal.http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/tschuckman@aol.com
After a tough but well needed PT session with Erwin Lim this morning, and a good written report about my progress, I decided to take the chance of driving my truck to my credit union, the store in Kenosha and Popeye's chicken, and finally got home about 2:30PM and also ate for the first time today. Getting into the cab of the truck was painful, but driving was OK and worked out fine. I used the used [new] power scooter but had to have some help in ripping off the top neck/ head brace so it went back into the back of the truck bed more easy. I noticed that my truck seat beat had 'more room' in it, but a month ago it fit too tightly around my big stomach.... That is wonderful news for me! Maybe I can "cheat" once a week and go off my diet, but I have to stay on it for LIFE!
I persuaded my way to have my new PCP 'new' VA doctor see me tomorrow early because I am all out of medicine that he will not prescribe without seeing me-- still much pain, especially after hard work outs, etc. I have no 'safety net', and my good nephew is in Wash. DC on a new job-- needs the paycheck! So I figured that I ought to disembark on my own and prayed a lot for protection. I also hope that the used power chair-- a "trike" with 3 wheels will support my lessor weight, and hope to scale up to see if I lost any more pounds... at the VA. I am going there on my BEST behavior, even though I feel slighted, shafted, and abused... lol. All you need to do is say the wrong coarse words [EVEN IF THEY ARE TRUE] and they will put you on a merry-go-round of the "good ole boys routine", and then you will be in hot water perhaps with a disorderly conduct charge. It's a huge, giant system there at the VA [VAMC] that will never change... a white elephant that prob uses our tax dollars for more that we want to know about. Hey! We ought to understand how the GOV'T operates by now...Ha!
Oh my, I am so tired and uncomfortable right now, and I intend to get to bed early. Sharon's "Mother Superior"-- the lady head honcho, named Sue, she wanted to see all day hide and just 'would not be found.' there will be a State agency investigating a harassment charge soon, and I am helping my wife-- but my mom fears revenge and reprisals. So Sharon and I agreed to go to a higher level and contact the 'heavy guns' -- State agencies, after waiting too long. I just want to wait for the new WI senator to get sworn in so we can harness him too. But as for me and the VA-- I would rather go through the system FIRST and reason with the people, as I know their system by now. But you've got to get up pretty early in the morning to play and win their 'game !' People lied to me at the VA Pharmacy all last week [of course] just to get me off their backs, and I should never have trusted them. They told me that they had sent out my meds on Jan. 1st... lol, yeah right-- nothing goes out on that day!! And then today, the head man of the Pharmacy called me up to smooth things out and give me my candy. But to make absolutely sure I do get it in good order, I will have to go in,and pick it up in person... drive some 30 miles, and because that is unscheduled, I won't get my travel pay either.
I say that it's just too bad that a Veteran has to be a well trained speaker and slick to get the needed meds and services he needs to survive at the VA !! An older brother at church, Joe vander Mollen, is mentoring me and helping me to not talk about some of my problems and just LET THEM GO! He has a few fav scriptures that he would like me to carve for him, and maybe in a week or two I will be able to walk the down stairs in my basement/ wood shop to work on that hobby. Hundreds of years ago, the Northern Europeans did their fine cabinet/ carpentry/ wood carving work/ skills in the Winter time, as they could not work the farm land, etc.
Well, maybe God sent my son and nephew to help me during my worst, most pained time after surgery, and now I can barely get around a bit better, even as some of my friends are not able to help me so much. It's just hard for me to swallow lies and mischief, and now the 'engine light' in my truck won't shut off-- so it's back to the dealer to figure that out. I am very careful with my bread and butter truck! It's only when some one else borrows it-- that something goes a rye. But then, my Dad complained about someone messing up his stuff too....
We are so blessed to put all our burdens on the Lord who will take care of all things in His due time. Will this be the year that we get Raptured up, Oh Lord?

I have found out long ago, and other pastors have also said: Read and Study the Bible earnestly, zealously on a regular basis-- even if it doesn't always make sense to you at the time. Latter on, EVERYTHING will "come together" and make sense! Two important points I want to make are: It's just like anything and everything else-- you will retain and understand a subject or book, as much as you PUT IN to reading it. I can only relate to my very active life of getting 'into' so many things all my life, from young until right now, that somethings were hard for me to grasp and completely foreign to me, like Blue Print Reading for Welders that I HAD TO TAKE in college-- strange welding symbols, etc. It was all 'GREEK' to me! I had a great Blue Print instructor at Gateway Tech college [and also one at MATC] who told me that his own son had to read/ study and re-study material up to eight times before it finally sunk into his head!! And then a few years latter, when I took a job/ change of study/ course... I flunked that long, hard Federal Exam for Investments and Securities [6 and 66], the first time that -- and it cost me $75 at the time, back in 1995, so I said to myself: 'self'.... You WILL pass that exam the 2nd time because it's just that important to moving up the ladder with PFS, as I was already a District Leader with about a dozen 'down line' people under me! So I figured that I would MEMORIZE all the study material if I had to... lol, and I did pass it the 2nd time. Yes, I had to change my course in life a few times just to survive and pay my bills, and that was hard too. Many unemployed people now days refuse to do that-- but I say that there will someday be an end to their "free lunch" and Gov't entitlements. I was in the same boat, so I can and will tell the truth about it.
For the most part, we are lazy people-- not wanting to leave our 'COMFORT ZONE.'
For that same reason, many will perish AFTER the Rapture because they just didn't MAKE TIME or move out of their 'Comfort Zone' long enough to seek the Lord Jesus Christ, and learn God's Word-- the Bible. But what does it matter if it's easy or hard?? Getting to heaven has got to be the most important thing in a person's life-- at least in MY life! And it's not about 'being good' so much as it is about accepting Christ as our personal Savior! But after a person REALLY, TRULY takes that first all important step-- he / she will WANT to know God better and learn all about Him. I hope that makes sense. Most of my readers already know this-- but perhaps a new person needs to know this info.
I just may have to drive to the Milwaukee VA [Veterans Administration Medical Center--- VAMC] tomorrow and plead my case to the Patient Advocate and the Administrator, etc., unfortunately, because they have not got my medication right yet, but I don't have the good Bibles that I like to carry with me on my power scooter and person, to give away to interested people right now-- I am out. ... so I will take some bible tracts if I can remember. The 'fruit-age of my lips' [my ability to just share the Gospel] because I know it that well, and the HOLY SPIRIT will help me say what needs to get said, of course. I often use the analogy... 'You can't with draw money from your bank UNLESS YOU PUT MONEY INTO THE BANK PRIOR!' Same with Bible knowledge. You have to know what you are talking about and put it in an understandable format and be serious, respectful. I feel that a "new Christian" can be just about be polished and steady enough to share the Gospel in about 6 months, but others may want to share the Good News right after they first learn it ! If a person found a cure for diabetes or cancer, would he/ she not want to share it with others?? Well then, how about eternal life in heaven-- versus pain in Hell forever ??
Time to let the dog out, and then go to bed.
Warm Regards,

More Truth comes out.
Tom's Journal.http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/tschuckman@aol.com
Well, Folks and Friends,
I have been deliberately holding back most of the truth about my one week stay at the Milwaukee VA after having total right knee replacement surgery on Dec. 6th, and while there --I have heard many positive encounters of other Vet's getting the same thing and have seen a few amputees as well. But then there is a darker side too. It's a long story, and let me tell you that many Vets are afraid to tell their REAL stories for fear that they might lose some of their benefits/ and service-connected disability ratings..., etc., sorry to say. I kept a short general diary while there after my surgery on Dec. 6th, 2010, but remember that I was heavily medicated for extreme pain, and now kind of wish I never went through with the surgery to start with-- except my old PCP 'Nurse Practitioner' kept prodding me to do it... For the most part, most of the VA staff treated me OK, including most of the PT people and I know how important their jobs were to get me moving and exercising, so I wouldn't lose mobility. But the PT woman I had kicked, knocked and whacked me 6 times in ONE DAY, and I brought that to her attention before she was more observant, and yes, I do have her full name [CO].
Fact is: the VA staff never once assisted me in bathing, and I just could not take a shower for fear of falling down- and pain-- NO ONE EVER HELPED ME CLEAN MYSELF ONCE! There may have been relatively "clean beds" but the fat man in it [me] was dirty and sweaty! I especially had a hard time with the 3rd shift where 3 black RN's gave me a hard time, and YES, they were actually RACIST and mean to me, refusing to touch or help me in any way. They even called the VA cops on me who barged in on me at 0600 hours, I believe on Thursday morning, who took the RN's side because I had a camera on a "Gov't facility." Those same RN's refused to give me even their FIRST names, and called the VA police because they didn't have any real ammunition/ dirt on me, except that throw away camera that they said I tried to snap shots of the staff! I was FASTING from all food, but drank lots of water for personal and health reasons. One reason was: If I had to defaecate, just who in the heck would clean me??? After I transferred to KMH [Kenosha Memorial Hospital] they treated me like a prince and washed/ cleaned me often! Friends... lol, get ready for obama-care, because many of us fear that it will be like the VA care, and most of Americans will be very shocked when they get it.
The doctors and staff PROMISED ME that I would have ample pain medication to begin the future weeks of Rehab, and at home-- where ever I went, but that was all messed up and never happened, for a multitude of reasons. The orders between KMH and the VA got all goofed up [and I want to "protect" some folks at the VA-- for a while] but the bottom line was that I only got a small amount of my pain meds-- and those were PRE- SURGERY LEVELS, when I was still having MAJOR PAIN issues! Flash! Some folks just don't heal as fast as other folks... hello! I lost 45 pounds in the 2 weeks following my surgery, as that KMH nurses scaled me up there. I must also thank the 1st shift at that fine facility, on the 7th floor, in Kenosha, WI., but especially, CNA Joan Lang, and RN Patti Presterl, for their uncommon kindness and professionalism. The head lady of Rehab too, and others. The doctor in charge of me was good too, but the foul up from the VA concerning my meds amounted to less than half of the normal PRE-SURGERY level, with much suffering ever since, up until right now as I am O.U.T., and home! NEVER HAVE ANY SURGERY DONE AROUND ANY HOLIDAY!! Because the VA folks vanish half a day early until it's time to come back to work-- and the Pharmacy locks up tight during that time too! So, for instance, the Friday before New Years Eve to Jan. 3rd, the poor Veterans are SOL.
Right now I am just sick and out of my head with pain, but maybe the VA figures that the Vets can just 'take the pain' -- lol. I have called and written my Congressman a few times but the VA Pharmacy is so skilled into manipulating things and sweeping the real truth under the rug.... sorry. I intend to step on many toes in the morning, and even though I am not well enough to drive yet-- I just may have to drive the 30 miles to the Milwaukee VA and take that chance if things can't be worked out over the phone. Upon the time of the surgery, my power scooter and PC were in-op'/ broke, and had a hard time depending on some "friends" around my small town. I am not going to cry too much, because after I retired from Chrysler I wanted to buy a small house closer to my legally blind mom-- but my own health went down hill these past 7 years. As I can barely walk/ hobble to the bath room now, even after 4 weeks of Rehab and 'healing' I can't possibly think about moving some where else-- and my wife is in the Woodstock Nursing home in Kenosha, WI., where she continues to be harassed by a toady small supervisor name, David Maxwell, but we shall surely take care of that situation in the morning too!
Because I am Christian, I bear no malice, hatred, or ill will against the Milwaukee VA hosp., and I know that they do many wonderful things for the Veterans... but I can't just sit still while they continue to give me substandard care, or lack of it. Some folks tell me that my recovery may last many months-- and if so, how will I manage with insufficient pain management and meds, and their 'sink or swim policy??'
Well, now my PC printer is in-op, but I will be sending a few copies of this post to various other agencies, for sure. I am not trying to demonize the VA, but I just want to make sure that all my Vet friends and their spouses know the truth and what to expect. I wish the Rapture would come tonight. The Lord will take care of EVERYTHING.

Woman and a Fork.
Tom's Journal.http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/tschuckman@aol.com
I had another busy day calling many on the phone to get things done and shake things up. With the right kind words I did get a lot done, and that makes me feel good. The Bella Home medical guy, Andy, came over with both power scooters, put one in the garage and the other in the back of my truck, and I signed his papers. Then my son, Andy, came over latter to go shop for some fresh produce, etc., for me and he put $50 in my truck gas tank and almost filled it up. I love to treat people well and give them small gifts-- like gas money, etc.
With my new-er 3 wheeler power scooter-- Golden Avenger, I am thinking about visiting my dear, lonely wife at Woodstock "nursing home" and bringing her what she craves, some cans of pineapple, etc. Got to test my new buggy anyway before I have appointments at the Milwaukee VA. But I also have PT at my home tomorrow and maybe a RN to check out a scab on the side bridge of my poor nose. What next?
The pizza man just came to my door to dump off the goodies, so I will talk to ya'll latter.
Thank you for all your prayers for all my great friends and me! God bless all the Believers and Servants of Jesus Christ. Please also pray for the Union Grove, WI Baptist church, that they might grow and have more love amongst them. But everything according to YOUR [the Father's ] Will. Time to hunker down, buy more Mac+ Cheese, beans and rice, ammo, batteries and candles, silver, and keep our noses in God's Word.
Love and Hugs,
Tom

There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and

She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she

> Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young

>
> 'There's one more thing,' she said excitedly..
>
> 'What's that?' came the Pastor's reply.
>
> 'This is very important,' the young woman continued. 'I want to be buried
> with a fork in my right hand.'
>
> The Pastor stood looking at the young woman, not knowing
> quite what to say.
>
> That surprises you, doesn't it?' the young woman asked.

> certain aspects of her final wishes.
She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she
> would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in.
>
> Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young
> woman suddenly remembered something very important to her.
>
>
>
>
>
>
> 'Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request,' said the Pastor.
>
> The young woman explained. 'My grandmother once told me this story, and from
> that time on I have always tried to pass along its message to those I love
> and those who are in need of encouragement. In all my years of attending
> socials and dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main
> course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep
> your fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was
> coming...like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something
> wonderful, and with substance!'
>
> So, I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand
> and I want them to wonder 'What's with the fork?' Then I want you to tell
> them: 'Keep your fork ..the best is yet to come.'
>
> The Pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the young woman
> good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her
> before her death. But he also knew that the young woman had a better grasp
> of heaven than he did. She had a better grasp of what heaven would be like
> than many people twice her age, with twice as much experience and knowledge.
> She KNEW that something better was coming.
>
> At the funeral people were walking by the young woman's casket and** **they
> saw the cloak she was wearing and the fork placed in her right hand.. Over
> and over, the Pastor heard the question, 'What's with the fork?' And over
> and over he smiled. **
>
> During his message, the Pastor told the people of the conversation he had
> with the young woman shortly before she died. He also told them about the
> fork and about what it symbolized to her. He told the people how he could
> not stop thinking about the fork and told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either.
> He was right. So the next time you reach down for your fork let it remind
> you, ever so gently, that the best is yet to come. **Friends are a very rare
> jewel** **, **indeed. **They make you smile and encourage you to
> succeed **Cherish
> the time you have**, **and the memories you share** .... **being friends
> with someone is not an opportunity, but a sweet responsibility. *
Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND...and I'll bet this will be an
> email they do remember, every time they pick up a fork.!
> *
> **And just remember...keep your fork!*
> Have a Wonderful Day!
> Be kinder than necessary, because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of
> battle.

Interpretation of Matthew 24-25.
Tom's Journal.http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/tschuckman@aol.com
Some of my readers must wonder WHY is it that Old Soldier Tom seems to have so many knock down, drag out fights, confrontations, trials, and aggravations... Ha! It may be that I am more 'verbal', articulate, with a good aptitude with words, and SUPER ACTIVE-- even when I am down and convalescing/ healing. From young on, I always loved to read books and learn new words-- but I also liked to hunt, fish, woodwork, sports. play guitar in a few unknown rock bands [small potatoes] and girls, and LOVED MOTORCYCLES! Some of my treasures, values, priorities have changed over the years, and that's OK. After I retired from my "day job"-- Chrysler after 30.5 years, I decided that I could afford to go into realms that I could only dream of when I had to punch a clock most of my life to pay the mortgage and bills, raise the family/ kids, and I always wanted to WRITE, publish, Blog, teach and share with others.
I still have the 250 page manuscript of 'my book' that I started, about my life, war and stuff-- but after I found the Lord [or He found me...] all the "other things" seemed to drift away-- took a lower priority-- back burner. I felt so thankful and glad after I found out that I would surely go to HEAVEN, after I was Saved and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior -- that I felt the Holy Spirit tug on my heart to serve the Lord Jesus Christ as much as I could before I died or got Raptured! Go figure... once we die or get Raptured-- we will never have a second chance to do the important Lord's work on earth again in this sharing the Gospel capacity!! And how will we account for all our time on earth to the Lord?? Being a lazy coward, not taking a stand for the Truth, or sharing the Bible, the Gospel to all that we can, instead of working so hard for material things, watching the goofy TV or getting stupefied with too much drinking and smoking, etc. And when I got into PC's/ computers/ InterNet, it only made sense that my talents lent themselves to spreading the Word to hundreds of people-- rather than a few dozen by 'snail mail.'
Today was a busy, roaring day for me, as my German house keeper came over to clean the house from top to bottom. And then my good nephew, Steve Schuckman, came over to drive me around to do lots of important chores. I negotiated the buying of a used three wheel, power scooter-- Golden Avenger, after they "repair shop" Bella home medical care in Kenosha, WI-- Sheridan Rd., told me that my old Avenger was kaput, obsolete, they didn't make that motor anymore, etc. baloney. They had another used Avenger on consignment for $2900., but I took the owners down to $2500., and barely scraped up the cash to buy it, but most of the store 'hired help' evaporated/ disappeared for lunch, and after we transferred the cash and paper work, the scooter would not run, even with new batteries!! Didn't these simple, half dead "Pro's" know that they had to CHARGE the new batteries...duh? I instructed Steve to EXPECT Murphy's Law and total incompetence! That is NOT being NEGATIVE or mean-spirited--- that's reality in this modern age of today!! It's also SMART! So then the goofs told me that they would transport BOTH power scooters to my house tomorrow, free of charge. Ha! What a way to do business! I only wish I would have kept $500 back until they brought the scooters to my house and proved it worked-- I told Steve, trying to teach 30-something Steve some proper, smart business practices ! I am only trying to help my family learn some smart business practices that will help them after I die. When you give the seller the money-- they figure that they can just slack off and jerk you around like a sucker-- it's been my past experience. You WANT TO TRUST FOLKS-- but a good buyer/ businessman ought to know better-- what and what not to do. My Dad taught me a lot of good stuff too when I was a kid on the farm.
We went though the drive-thru at Popeye's chicken [Steve never had that good treat] prior to the scooter, and then went to get my Dodge Grand Caravan 2005 Title cleared at the local DMV. I paid the car off years ago but procrastinated in getting the Title cleared, so two people already called me up via CraigsList that my son set up for me last night, and they were "bitting" already! Came home finally, and then my PT man, Mr. Lim, a fine Philippino gentleman, called to come over in an hour for my Physical Therapy, and he is a great guy and we get along fine-- but he put me through my paces and worked my knee good! Ouch! A visiting nurse from Kenosha County will see me soon concerning the large scab on the side bridge of my nose caused by too much rubbing/ irritation from my CPAP breathing machine these past few weeks. What next, Lord ? I thanked Steve, hard working man, just laid off from a good paying, skilled job in IL., on Dec. 17th, and gave him some gas money. He's a big handsome guy too and strong/ smart. He has been a true blessing to me lately. I pray that he finds the Lord soon too.
Well, I still have lots of calls to make tomorrow to light fires under the slack jawed, slow movers behinds-- who have their heads in the clouds. Man! What a huge difference from my past working days when workers knew the value of hard work and discipline... lol.
Deuce is always happy to see my friends and relatives come over, including the great, cleaning lady, Suzy. The trouble is, the vast majority of my true friends who will help me and lend a hand are NOT from my dinky little town, Union Grove-- except for a few great saints like Bill Lee, and Joe Vander Mollen, etc etc.
Please pray for my dear friends, Captain Robby Bohnen, my dear wife, Sharon, Steve and Barb Brulport, Bill Tippet, who is dying of heart concerns and Agent Orange, Dick- from Hawaii, Joe and Doris Vander Mollen, Bill Lee and wife, my cousin Wanda Jane Becker from Hays, KS, who has a cruel, goofy, myopic, boss man my son, Andy, Debbie from Kenosha-- knee pain, etc.
Thank you!
Warm Regards,
Tom Schuckman

An Interpretation of Matthew 24-25 (Part 4)
Posted: 29 Dec 2010 03:31 PM PST
By Dr. Thomas Ice Pre-Trib Research Center Since I have shown in previous installments that Matthew 24 is a future, end-time prophecy, the next issue to tackle is when will verses 4 through 14 come to pass? There are two major views that futurists, like myself, tend to hold. First, some believe that verses 4-14 refer to the inter-advent age - that is the time between Christ's first coming and the
