When I have 'too much on my plate,' and feel like the weight of the world is caving in on me, I employ some things I've learned to help me keep my sanity and plow ahead.  "There is wisdom in a multitude of counselors."  I consult with my inner circle of wise Christian brethren, and close, trusted, fellow Vietnam Veteran friends.  I  dive into the Bible and cherry pick special scriptures that deal with the problem I have-- but this is really my FIRST resort/ choice.  Friends, there is something called a 'Bible trained conscience,' which means that the sum total of our pure Bible knowledge from all the sermons, councils, meetings and intense Bible study, all form a net work in our minds and hearts as to WHAT WE SHOULD DO IN A EMERGENCY.  Remember, if you don't put the right godly facts into you head-- how can we draw them out-- just like a bank??  Unbelievers are working with an 'empty bank account'... sorry.  As we will see in the fine article below-- it's not about 'living a so-called 'GOOD' life,  and depending on our "good works" and donating to the poor or charities!'   Our best works and charities are but 'filthy rags' before the Lord IF we have not confessed Jesus as our PERSONAL Lord and Savior!!  Get it?

The Lord found me back in the Winter of '94-95 in Milwaukee when I was truly at the end of my rope in a sleazy upper apartment [one room above a cockroach infested bar on St.Paul], after I finally got down on my knees and begged Him to show me/ put me on the right path of TRUE religion/ Faith and follow Him.   Many things started changing after that.  I didn't all of a sudden become a Saint/ perfect man, but it was the beginning of a special enlightenment and true love of my Lord, Jesus Christ... and I am still working on it-- and God is still working on me.  I feel like my pride and accomplishments have been the major obstacles in my life, preventing me from progress in my journey of pure Christian living-- BUT, I am learning how to beat that 'work of the flesh' down, by begging God for humility and reading the Bible-- especially Psalms and Proverbs, etc.

What troubles me is that I see too many other people at churches who have been coming for many years, but still have trouble with basic bible retention and knowledge... because I love to talk to them and she notes, etc.  We all come to know the Lord and bible are different times in our lives, and Praise the Lord, that we did get Saved!!  But I guess that some of us just have a greater love for the Scriptures than others.  That's why I like FB [FaceBook] where I can find some great Bible scholars/ Believers who really delve into the deeper waters and challenge my mind!  My close friends are also a great source of encouragement to me when I am down and depressed with disasters and loss of loved ones, etc.

But we all have to start somewhere, just like little babies, crawl, walk and run.  My personal niche in life is handing out Bible Tracts, Inc., and I get the best from Mark Smith, of WVCY Christian radio, 107.7 FM, Milwaukee, or on the Net.  I also engage many strangers in bible discussions and then introduce the Bible, and often GIVE THEM AWAY!   It truly gives me a good feeling and I feel the Spirit helping me all the way--even while writing my blog too!

These days when I feel over-loaded with bone crushing weight-- I write lists of prioritized important things to do, and also write them on my calendar, so I don't forget.   I have a few wrist watches that tell the correct time, and have always been on time and met my appointments in a timely manner.  that's important to me, but my Dad [and the Army] also instilled many of these things in me.

It's a cool Saturday in Wisconsin, and I feel truly blessed to have a sturdy, old, house, compared to all the people where the tornadoes struck with a vengeance last week in MO, and blew away everything they had.  Pray.  Drive safe this week end. I hope you know that MANY people will drink- drive- and get killed in the next 3 days... but it doesn't have to be that way.  Here is an old pic of me while flying-- Door Gunner-- 240th AHC, BearCat, Vietnam.  Age 21. --1970.

I basically knew and understood about these "charities' more than 30 years ago while working on the Chrysler/ AMC assembly line in Kenosha, WI. The labor Union- Local 72 UAW, and the Company who wanted to look good on paper made fun and derision of me for refusing to donate to the "United Fund" where some of the money was allocated to Gay/ Homosexual Groups in the country [which violated my biblical Christian sensibilities at the time], so I gave a few dollars to the Union Steward, and told him to buy himself a few beers, just to prove that I wasn't a cheap skate!  At that time, in the 1970's the American Kidney Foundation's Prez got over $100,000 per year to 'run that org.'  I donated plenty to my own church and helped people out all the time when emergencies came up... and invited many poor families and friends to my house for dinners and cook outs!  It's was, and still is, the PRINCIPLE of being forced to do something against my will! All my friends and church know me as a very generous, kind man.  As a matter of fact, right now I am GIVING away many expensive things after my dear wife passed away!  But I won't give or sell things of value to greedy, godless jerks!

Knee Surgery Again.

Hi Guys and Gals,
I know I keep dropping back to my 'good ole days' at age 19 in Vietnam, and we did have a lot of good times and made long lasting friends there.  The point I want to make is:  Every morning in my particular Flight Platoon [White Flight] with the 240th AHC [Assault Hel. Co.-- BearCat], 1969-70, the Sargent woke us up and we had to look at a big 'Missions board' to see where everyone was going that day-- what mission, where, working with what Infantry outfit, etc.  And every day was a new different day with it's own surprises, mess ups, trials, victories and mission.  I was just thinking about those times today, and comparing it with my life right now, here in S.E. Wisconsin, etc., May 14th, 2011. 

Well, I did see the top rated Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Shapiro, and his nice staff, and they already fixed the DATE OF MY SURGERY, after they x-rayed my Left knee!!  Totally different from how the VA does business!  Several of my trusted friends said that they liked and trust him, so... here we go again...LOL.  "Hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on!" ~Tommy James and the Shondells--early 1960's.  

I have much to do in the next 3 short weeks besides pray my head off for strength and courage.  Got to get a new 'next of kin' and Power of Attorney, as my wife was that trusted person before she passed, and that person also ought to be a Patient Advocate to look over me after the good doctors carve me up, and make me the 'Bionic Man.'  They also took pix of my lower back that hurts now more than the knees!  It was just amazing to me how the doctor could cut through red tape so fast-- instead of the long, drawn out 'protocol' of the VA... and what an old, messed up, slow system the VA has while hundreds of older combat Vets linger in great suffering-- poor gentlemen in their 70's, 80's, etc., who get jerked around, from WW-2, etc.  And their lame excuse is that they are only allocated so much money from the Fed. Gov't, so they have to 'make due' with what they have, and cut benefits from deserving, honorable Veterans! All the Gov't has to do is re-coup the $24 BILLION from tax cheats and over payments to the wrong, greedy people--and thank the current WH for all the goof ups of their 'bail outs' and other 'white elephants.'  It's a pack of lies and politics, really, with 5th generation welfare programs, and wild, rich D.C. parties, in my opinion... Chicago politics.  OK, enough ranting for a while... lol.

And June 14th is FLAG DAY!  Total Knee Replacement.

I guess it's time that we pray for all the Mid-West tornado victims who have survived and still looking for loved ones.  And to think that some of them just didn't have house insurance or car insurance and lost everything!  I predict that America will have a lot more tornadoes this season, and even into Fall!  I am still beating my drum about the Genesis 12.3 deal, between God and His children-- Israel.  MOST people just don't get it... and that is sorry, but also a fulfillment of Scripture.  I was reading 1st Cor. Chapters 1 and 2 in the doctors waiting room about the "natural man" and the "spiritual man" -- how one of them had biblical discernment and the other did not.
     I need to thank my cousin, Wanda Jane, from Hays, KS, who helped me correct my mind set-- to be more positive and loving toward certain members of my family.  She knows her bible well!

My friend in Christ, Mark Hoppe, sent this reply to me, trying to help me get a balanced mind set concerning irreverent, unbelieving offspring [kids who disrespect their parents, and GOD].  One daughter can't stop her mouth from condemning me of being the worst, most sinful Dad in the world, even as I never beat her hardly unless she really 'crossed the line' and she was a good girl until she hit that 'magic age of 13' LOL, but now as she talks-- I don't even think that she knows what a "Believer" is!  The other daughter wants and does live in an immoral lifestyle and even flaunts it in my face.  I have NEVER treated my parents in this way-- for good reason....and that's why I am alive today.  People, cultures and attitudes change-- BUT GOD NEVER CHANGES, and His rules  and Word- the Bible are the same today in 2011 as they were from the beginning-- in Genesis!  It's  a wonderful 'gift' to be able to understand the whole Bible and see the majesty of God in all 66 books of the Bible, His mercy and justice!  Real, true Christians know that these are the 'End Times' when all shall get a divine "pre-view" of the Great Tribulation [a preview of Hell]... and hey-- things are JUST starting to warm up, folks!  Hang on, and pray harder than ever, because we haven't seen nothin' yet!  

I don't even worry, or have time for the scoffers/ unbelievers, because my [and all Christians' mission] 'work' is to share the Gospel with as many people as we can find-- and the angels will direct us!  And are we not thankful that the Lord found US, even as we were big sinners in the past??  We are NOT cowards who shrink away from our soldierly CHRISTIAN duty of sharing the Word and Gospel!  I hand out Bible Tracts and bibles where ever I go and preach the Bible.  The Holy Spirit gives US that special strength and courage... and that "help" is FREE!   I bought a Pulsar watch today at Herbert's Jewelers for less than $100, and share some Tracts with the sales lady, who also was a Christian... and the VA appointed cleaning lady who came over to my house this morning.  Just think:  If they would have killed me, I would've had a one way ticket to HEAVEN!! WOW!

I hate to use the term 'magic' because that is the devil's domain... but I prayed hard to the Lord last night and this morning, to show me the right way to regard my disappointing offspring-- that I have left after my dearest son, Andy, was killed a few weeks ago in the prime of his life, age 37.  I cannot talk much about him because the DA told me that might jeopardize the trial case.   But that just shows us how fragile and temporal our lives are on earth, and how important it is to KNOW Jesus as Savior as early in life as possible, dear friends.  Yes, that is why I keep "bugging" people to learn the Bible and put ALL FAITH IN JESUS, now!   Flash!  If a person is really 'born-again' and a real, Bible loving Christian-- they can't keep they joyful mouth shut about Jesus and the Bible !!  It's like they just fond a gold mine and want to share some of it with the people that they love.  Is that a picture of YOU ???  If not, you might want to pray about it some more....  Even with all my personal pain and sorrow, I still have that true happiness from the Spirit that fills me!

When a person dies and everyone swears  that the deceased is with the Father in Heaven-- it makes me want to puke!  Only God and that  resurrected 'dead' person knows where he is going!!  What we see is the outside of a person-- while God sees the heart!  We can deceive other humans, but we cannot lie to God because he sees our hearts.  

I think that God appointed a few good, biblical Christians to help me see the proper perspective today.  thank you, Mark, and others.

OK, friends, I well know that there are 'other camps'- various mind sets and ideas.  And that's why I like to bring proof to the table.  Again, we don't know the day or hour, but we know the "season."  Just like in days of old, like World War 1, if your neighboring country moved lots of Infantry and Artillery next to your border-- what would you expect??   War!  So my correlation is:  Beware the 'drums of war' and the electricity in the air, saber rattling and angry words!  And what is said by heads of State and bodies of Congress could easily precipitate fierce and deadly battle.

'You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd...'  - that old song goes... 'but you can be happy if you've a mind to!' [Roger Miller?]  There are some things that just cannot happen in this world.  Why?  The Bible says so!  I was so proud of Mr. Netanyahu standing his ground against our clown in the WH.  And as we SHOULD know from simple Bible study, Genesis 12:3, that there is a stiff penalty/ curse involved with selling, trading, sharing any land that the Lord God gave to ancient Israel-- because God made that lasting covenant with Israel for ALL TIME!  And ALL America will suffer if we[collectively] are guilty of 'cursing' or hurting Israel in any way.  Remember that the MAJORITY of America elected their Messiah, Obama, and therefore bear SOME responsibility.  

Well, obama and most of our politicians couldn't understand the Bible if they read it 100 times over-- because they are not true Believers, not Saved, and don't have the Holy Spirit -- that brings discernment.  I can say this without reservations because I know the Bible that well.  I teach and share the Gospel all the time, anywhere I go, because it's my JOB as a Christian to do just that!  You don't have to talk to a person very long to figure out if they are a true Christian Believer or not, because red flags go up when their total ignorance and pride become as visible as a fire in the night... lol.  It's not about being pure, sinless or holy-- we are all sinners, but Believers have that special, exclusive relationship with Jesus Christ having confessed our sins and received forgiveness, as we aspire to do better while constantly taking in more knowledge so we can serve our Master in Heaven.  Sorry.. this explanation is actually TOO SIMPLE for the proud to understand.  

But even as we believe that the Rapture could come very soon, we ought to be prepared to die any time-- accidents happen, and eternity is but a heart beat away.  Perhaps we older people think about death too often-- but we are surrounded by death every day, and have lost loved ones.  My mind is still messed up from my personal loss, and it's hard for me to run my affairs right now.  

A close friend, Bill Tippett came over to help me today with his 2 fine children, and they loved my Rottweiler, 'Deuce.'  He is a very smart man and helped me with a number of things today-- and he was also a member of my old 240th AHC- Army unit in Vietnam.  If we combat Veterans don't take care of each other-- WHO WILL??  Thanks, Bill.

I am selling my '05 Dodge Grand Caravan, only 42K miles, in CraigsList and already got 4 nibbles, and I will have to call them back tomorrow.  I have so much to do in so little time, looking to have surgery again, but don't know how fast I can get in line.

I pray for Israel-- not the Gov't, but the people, that they may know the true Messiah, Jesus.  And for Jerusalem too.  Great article below:
