My long day.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

What?? Another total screw up again today at the North Chicago VA Hosp!  I came there 3 hours early to see "doctor" Bombay, and he took me 45 minutes LATE and goofed around so much repeating himself and questioning me so  often, and finally wrote a script for some meds that he totally messed up the FIRST TIME  he saw me, last month!!  So when I took them to the in- house VA  pharmacy, I was the very last guy to be served 2 minutes before they closed at 5PM, and they said they could not fill the scripts because the doctor screwed up writing them!!!  Rather then trust those air heads to ship them FED EX, I will probably pick them up after another long drive down there tomorrow, and the IL traffic is a nightmare!  I have never seen so many stupid people in one place at the same time!  I was praying all the time I was there for the Holy Spirit to prevent me from losing my temper with all the incompetence surrounding me.... lol.  Right now, I am thanking the Lord-- and also patting myself on the back, just a bit.  I'll tell you one thing-- if you are going down there for help-- PLAN ON SEEING MURPHY'S LAW in action--big time!  For some reason the "doctor" was happy with my urine sample.... duh.  Well, at least I made myself laugh at my own blog post joke right now..Ha!  In a little bit I will prob be back to 'normal' as I sip a Welche's Grape soda.    I went there early to see the Patient Advocate, just in case there was some trouble, but my communication skills are still quite good... or so I thought.  I have learned to speak slowly to the 'brain dead' folks  down there.  On the other hand I see so many people in uniform-- and that kind of makes me feel at home and happy... and I feel that I can trust and communicate well with them-- my brothers and sisters.  I have not worked up my nerve yet to try the chow... lol, but I always thought that the Navy had the best.   Wait!  I just remembered that I did try their food, and it was all dried out and nasty...Ha!

And then the guards/ valet parking people left for home by the time I got done, and they just so happened to park my rental car [Ford Escape] on the 4th floor of the parking building, and I didn't know.   So I snagged a sailor and he got my keys [with a 'cat-o-nine' whip on it] and  followed him on my power scooter given to me by the VA when I first got there, and he drove it back to his post.... and I thanked him very much for that kindness.   And EVERYONE else I talked to while there told me their own  horror stories about the BS [berry sap] and goofy goose chase- run around they also got at the North Chicago--VA Medical Center.  I just have a sneaky feeling that things will NOT get any better there, and I don't know if I trust that same doctor doing a procedure up [colonostophy --sp?]   my back side....  He just may leave some tools up there!   Milwaukee VAMC doesn't look so bad anymore.

Other than that-- it was a beautiful day!  [Ha!]
I didn't eat all day, but that's OK, and I need to feed the hound dog now.  It's 6:26 PM and all is well, sort of.
I was just thinking about really smart men [and women] who are educated in different areas-- besides survival skills and military back ground...  sometimes all the knowledge, skills, talents and education, and even prayer won't stop or cure a BAD DAY.  That old Murphy's Law comes into play and you wonder if it was smart to get up in the morning.  And if a person has a working knowledge of French, German, Latin, Spanish, and some Vietnamese -- along comes a person who is Chinese or Russian.

Every time this year in Autumn, I get a craving for apples and eat plenty to clean out my system.  I love Cortlands, but I also like pears, pineapples, oranges, bananas, strawberries, blackberries, etc.  Who knows that I'll have time tomorrow to buy some good apples.

I left a pocket Bible at the VA today and also gave a Vet one of my bible tracts, so it may not have been a total loss.  Seems to be plenty of old Army guys there so I can at least engage in some intelligent conversation.  We got to stick together and help each other.   If we don't -- who will?  For some odd reason the pay master could not pay me my travel pay because I knew that my 3PM appointment with Dr. "D" would end too late and the pay master closes at 3:30, and then it would be too late to claim my $20 and change, so I told her to mail it to me.  They have a totally different 'system' down there compared to the Milwaukee VAMC.

I am looking forward to tomorrow.

Warm Regards,
Tommy
"Iron sharpens Iron"  ~Proverbs 27:17  -- that means: two good Christian soldier hone each other in that they speak the truth of the Bible and help each other out.  When one falls down-- the other can pick him up!  I like Proverbs!

I didn't need a doctor in my prime, being a power lifter most of my adult life-- but a few accidents and hard work forever took some of the 'wind out of my sails'.. and old age.  I am still blessed-- being Saved, and heaven is my home.  PTL.

Syria threatens War.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Does ANYONE see the 'plot thicken' besides most well read, studied, real Christians here about??  If things get  any more apparent they will bite us in the nose... LOL!!  Mean while, back at the ranch, I look on with mild interest at the USA, and daily stock market, slipping ever faster down the slippery slope as the DOW Jones sinks and our miserable economy flounders like a Coho salmon in the Fall trying to swim up steam to spawn, up here in Wisconsin.  We used to catch them by hand like a bear does and have them smoked-- so delicious!!
The book of Revelation says that most of earth's population will mourn as things get economically worse, but true Christians KNOW and understand that these times MUST TAKE PLACE before our Lord returns to 'gather us up into the clouds with Him' in the soon coming Rapture!  Just like the old women used to weep every year for the pagan god Tamuz which inspired some modern day pagan celebrations around Resurrection Sunday [Easter to the world...ahem], when our Lord rose from the dead after He was killed by the Jews, using the resident State power, Rome, to accomplish their purpose.  The same thing is happening now days with the ACLU perverting or Constitution and way ward Gov't liberals.
Do we all understand that Bible prophecy says that Damascus will be utterly destroyed in the coming war between Israel and her hateful, surrounding Islamic nations [soon]??  Damascus is the OLDEST continuously inhabited city in the world!  Warning!  Do NOT mess with the "Apple of God's Eye -- Israel !!   That includes the good old USA.
Folks,  I was very dissatisfied during my visit today at the North Chicago VAMC [hospital[ in IL, feeling like I got jerked around, and I will travel back there tomorrow to get some satisfaction, and you better get up pretty early in the morning to beat Old Soldier Tom.  I admit when I am wrong-- but will fight when I'm right.  Today they took more x-rays of my back, etc., and did 8 vials full of blood work.  The lady who drew my blood was Vietnamese, and we had a good time with my small knowledge of her native language, and I surprised her!  I always carry a few pocket Bibles and some Bible tracts with me when I go there.  An old friend at Victory B.C. gave me 2- dozen more KJV pocket bibles this past Sunday just for that purpose, Chip M... thank you, Bro. Chip.  Always be prepared and LOOK for an opportunity to witness.  How did WE all come to know the Lord??  The stories are always so warm and exciting on this subject, are they not?  I also gave away one "Love the Jewish People" tract, by Chick Publications-- small comic book form.  And everyone always asks me IF I am Jewish...Ha!  I tell them "NO"-- but I wish I were... and I would gladly travel there to help them fight their hateful Islamic neighbors who want to see all Israel dead, because I used to have a professional "Trade" taught to me by the U.S. Army...helicopter machine gunner- M-60... lol.  Ha!  I know I am just a dreamer.  Christians are pretty much commanded by the Lord to sit out this coming fight-- and leave it all up to GOD to 'take care of business.'  Our 'mission' [ the Christian Church] will be over pretty much after the war between Israel --and a good portion of Islam will bite the dust, and then the Rapture cometh.  I would hate to be around after that when the "Man of Lawlessness" cometh -- the Anti-Christ.  So, if you see or hear of me headed the wrong way from here 'till then, drive up to WI and kick my glutious maximus, please.

My Left knee and ankle are sore again because I've been forced to walk more-- without the use of my nifty power scooter still in my truck- in the repair shop.  I NEED the exercise, but not all at once or all the time.  I seem to sleep pretty good lately, and am in search of sun tan treatments... so I don't look so white.   I was out in the sun eating some Popeye's chicken and rice for a while with the Deuce -- old hound dog boy... after I got home from the VA.
Pray that I have a more speedy recovery and healing, and lose massive amounts of weight, again.  I will go on another fast if I have to.  And if the VA won't see me eye to eye, and be reasonable,  I just may cancel my colon maneuver appointment.  Got to buy some more Cortland apples tomorrow too.  I like a sour twang in apples.  Granny Smith are good too.
Got to let Deuce outside before I hit the hay.
Thank you all for all your prayers, advice and well wishes.  My dear old Mom and my sister Linda have finally got her new apartment in order after working so hard for a week.  Thank you, Linda.

Warm Regards,
Tommy

Saturday Morning.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."    "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:  for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. ~ 1st Corinthians chapter 2, verses 9 and 10.  --Old Scofield KJV Bible [October 1st, 2011] PTL.

I am glad that the Spirit put this thought/ scripture  in my head this morning-- to crack open that grand Book-- the Old Scofield KJV Bible, given to me as a gift in the mail, by a good man/ Christian brother from South Carolina, named Jimmy Hood, a fellow helicopter crew chief and door gunner in the same 240th AHC outfit in Vietnam.  [AHC stands for: Assault Helicopter Company]  He said:  'Tom, read this and you will be smart' [LOL].  Jim is an old 'Country boy', but wiser than a 'tree full of owls.'  I guess he drove truck --OTR most of his life, after he came home from the 'Nam... RVN, and is also a great mechanic, among other things.  I sent him a gift--a $70 tactical knife [Cold Steel.com] in return-- NOT something meant to be a 'reciprocal/ pay back' item-- but just a gift from one brother to another.  You might say that I have strong, deep 'brotherly love' for many combat Veterans-- a bond that cannot be broken, and I call on them from time to time, for special advice, wisdom and help because I respect and need their expertise in certain areas [like Bill Tippett, another crew chief/ gunner].  I would say that I belong to a close knit, special net work/ circle of tested, wise, knowledgeable gentlemen [and some smart, cool women, who care about my welfare] that I care for.  An exclusive 'club.'

So... it's about the Spirit [the Holy Spirit-God] that the apostle Paul is talking about in the cited scripture, and the deeper things that only REAL, born-again Christian can glean when they read and study the Bible.  I have posted many times, scriptures like:  "The wisdom of the world is foolishness with God."  --[1st Cor. 3:19]...to prove my point, that the majority of mankind follow some false Messiah, false religion, or goofy political "leader," like a piped piper was leading them all, down the road to destruction [Hell], and they will NEVER even consider what the bible has to say-- just like the problems of Israel right now!  People just don't realize that the State of Israel is the 'center of the world' and anyone trying to hurt her will suffer big time curses brought by God Almighty-- see: Genesis 12: 3.  In my eyes and millions of other studied Christians, the coming [first] war between Israel and her hateful Islamic neighbors will precipitate the Rapture, shortly after that war in Israel [and the Bible also shows WHO WILL WIN THAT WAR!!] -- when Jesus will gather up His 'bride class' of servants and Believers.  And the devil KNOWS all about this fact-- so he and his demons are working overtime because they know that their time is short.  What sort of people ought we to be in view of these facts-- recorded in the Bible???

Personally,  I need to straighten up and 'fly right too !!'  I am weak in certain areas, lonely, have strong desires, needs, wants, and I figure the only way I am going to make it is to crack open the Bible EVERY SINGLE DAY and pray my head off to avoid temptations!  My Christian friends help me too by praying and offering advice.  I'm saying that's what I [ME] need to do-- not others.  I request prayers in this area too, please.  Just because a person is knowledgeable and educated in areas, especially the Bible, doesn't mean that his/ her life is all 'smooth sailing', easy, free of temptation, stress, loneliness, pain, and wrongful desires.  And I realize that some close friends at church struggle with their mates, marriages, poor economy, loss of a job, etc., and I need to step up to the plate and help/ encourage THEM!  Remember that the Lord Jesus gave us TWO new commandment-- superseding the original 10 [really over 300] Commandments.  See: Exodus 20: verses 25 and onward...  proof of what I say.  So, if you think about it, Jesus' new 2 commandments actually 'encompass' the Mosaic 10-- really over 300 commandments-- with many carrying the death penalty in ancient Israel.  We are NOT UNDER THE OLD LAW OF MOSES ANYMORE-- THE 10 Commandments-- as Christians, but few people know, understand, or care now days-- and the churches, pastors are to blame!!  Shame on them, and I would be loath to be in their shoes when the Lord comes back...for not teaching the TRUTH OF THE BIBLE or watering it down, merging other pagan/ heathen, New Age, religions,  with biblical true worship services that include the issues of sin, salvation and hell/ punishment.
All Christian will probably  struggle, fight temptations, and wrong thinking, plus persecution will befall all who confess Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and publicly proclaim their trust and faith in the Lord!  "It comes with the territory" and we should not be surprised if we lose EVERYTHING because of our love and faith in Christ!  Sorry folks-- I calls 'em like I sees 'em... lol.  I am just saying that we ought to be prepared and have a lowly, humble mindset in these perilous times, according to the 2 books of Timothy.

Folks, you know what?  I feel much better now, as writing and blogging are  good for me-- 'therapeutic' and my VA doctors recommend that I continue writing, etc., to help my challenges with PTSD [Combat Post traumatic stress disorder].  I started writing in my Journal when I was in High School and have been writing ever since.  I started to write my own book/ autobiography soon after I got called back to work at Chrysler, in May of 1995, and hired a proof reader-$$, who also advised me-- she was a real professional.  Her and her female friend critic-ed the 150 pages I had so far, and recommended that my book be 300 pages, but for some reason I had a 'mental block' and just set my Journal aside.  A big reason was:  I was becoming Spirit-filled, and a 'new born-again Christian, so I lost interest in writing an autobiography, thinking that it was just an 'ego trip' and prideful venture, pointing the spot light on ME, a simple soldier, and not something of real value.  I had other fish to fry and my priorities had changed again.  That happens when people get the Spirit and push on with maturity, IMHO [in my humble opinion].  New Christian quit gambling, smoking, drugs, drunkenness, immoral activities, heathen/ pagan mind sets, and wrongful thinking.  Their eyes are opened for the first time in their lives, and they speak up-- give glory to God, and Jesus Christ-- their Lord and Savior.  Folks who are mum, and never share or talk about the joy and happiness that comes from fully immersing one self in the Bible, IMO, don't have the Holy Spirit and Jesus in their hearts!  Their lives are going down hill, not knowing what the Lord has in store for mankind and the world-- because they have NO INTEREST in the Bible, nor love for Christ.

Well, friends, it's going to be another beautiful Autumn day in Wisconsin, and I need to go to the bank to move some money around.  Thank you, Lord, for giving me enough income after retirement to pay my bills, and have enough dog food for 'Deuce' my noble Rotty, etc.  I retired at age 54, but was by that time partly disabled from carpal tunnel problems, from repetitive work activity-- and that comes with the territory too.  Most of us Chrysler guys and gals have the scars from surgery due to carpel tunnel,  and we had to work on the assemble line with goofy, immoral, spunky people, so we could raise our families in a dignified manner-- food, shelter and clothing.  It was a hard life, hard work, but we earned a good living and were envied by others who didn't make that much, nor have good health care benefits.  MOST people could NEVER handle the slave work and super stress working on the line every day, and I certainly remember a dozen people who walked off the line at noon/ lunch and quit-- never returned because the work load was so heavy and brutal, when the company hired about 200 new people to start up a 2nd shift!    I just hate to hear ignorant people say that we were over paid and spoiled--working at AMC/  Chrysler, because we worked hard and sweated our buns off, and the company often abused us and treated us like trash.  Sorry-- that's the truth of it.  Sorry I got off course again.  My proof readers said that I wondered a bit too in my book, and I still have the 1st draft, manuscript at home...Ha!

I would like to take my dog with me this morning, but if the car rental discover dog hair in the car-- they will prob. charge me for a full detailing and clean up.  I can't afford that right now, and I have decided that I WILL BUY 2 new tires for my Ram truck before the Winter snow flies, just to be safe.  Saturday morning, 0900, and all is well.  I went to be last night about 9:30, very sore, pained and tired from over doing my walking, sometimes with only ONE cane to support me.  Starting Monday, I plan to go back on my diet and lose another 50 pounds.. my pants are falling down already, and that's why I carry and use a 'belly bag' to keep my wallet, etc., so I don't want to take a chance of losing my pants in public, or church.  That would be a nightmare!

God bless all servants of the Lord, and all Believes!!

Warm Regards,
Tommy Schuckman

Rosh Hashanah.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

I had a good breakfast with a friend from another church I visited last Sunday in Racine, today in town, and he invited me to his church's 'breakfast club' and Bible study some Thursday, and I think that would be interesting.  My old motto:  'One never has too many friends.'  I can tell when another person speaks "Christian/ Bible" and most folks can't fake that language.  We ALL come to the Lord and knowledge of the Bible at various stages/ time/ maturity in our life, and that's OK-- it's logical.  We treat each other with love and kindness no matter what level of 'maturity' we are in full- well- knowing that we were all "babes in the Lord" at one time and had much to learn.  The difference is:  When a person is truly Saved and Christian, he/ she will start to be more humble and learn from others who have been there before-- but one who is fully committed will 'have a LOVE for the Bible-- and that means they READ and STUDY it regularly!'   I don't rad or study as much as I think I should-- I get lazy and too comfortable.   You can at least SEE SOME progress in their attitude, speech and actions.  I AM A SINNER.  Period.  I know what's right and wrong and have long studied the deeper things of the Lord and His Word-- but my flesh is weak, and I sin.  I must ask forgiveness every day/ every night, for my indiscretions, errors, short comings, sins, and falling short of the mark of perfection-- and God says that I am FORGIVEN!!  But only through the merit of my Lord Jesus' propitiatory, bloody, suffering and death on the cross!  Got to understand that important point-- Jesus is the reason for the forgiveness of my [our] sins.

Point:  After breakfast, I went to the local [or loco] Piggly Wiggly store in town for some fruit, etc., with only my one cane to support me as I wheeled the cart in front of me, and it was OK for a while.  But I was running out of breath and my knees and legs were hurting at the end, so I asked if one of the guys could help load the groceries to my rental car-- a  2011 Ford Escape -- kind of like a pregnant orange crate, with not enough leg room for a 6 ft. tall German-American, weight lifter, like me... lol.  My Ram truck is in the shop for repair...  I must admit that the sudden "exercise" is GOOD and important for me, and I need it.  But I am pushing it and I need to still take it easier, as it's only been since June 14th that the 'doctors' in Kenosha did a number on my Left knee-- total knee replacement, and I think sometimes older guys [like age 62] need a bit more time getting their 'sea legs' back, if you know what I mean.  Heck!  I think that I am making good progress, and praise the Lord that it's not Winter yet!  I wish I could get more sun on my face, as folks tell me that I look too pale and anemic.  But I can 'fix that' too.

I just might visit another church this Sunday and see my old friends who are still alive, and meet new ones.  I was baptized there at VBC by pastor Earl B. Wise, in 1997 on a hot day in July, many moons ago, and still have friends there who care for me.  The pastor here in my home town of U.G. told me 'not to forget my "home church" ' ..LOL.  Not to worry-- but Old Soldier Tom has needs and desires too.  And if I can find my old swim suit, I will start pumping iron again soon and re-join the Kenosha, WI. YMCA to get myself in better shape... and I think that will help me lose even MORE weight!  I am doing it for MYSELF and my health, not to please other folks.  I am so happy to have lost another 10 pounds since my new VA doctor saw me 2 weeks ago!  Yes!
So, it's another beautiful, cool, Fall day in WI, with some leaves falling amid some sunshine, and I am feeling great.  PTL.
Thank you, all my dear friends for your nice, kind, comments on my Blog posts lately, and your emails!  I really love to get email and calls, and wish you all good health, blessings and kindness.  Times are exciting, scary, wicked, but the Lord sees all and He certainly blesses those who love Him and try to keep His Word in mind.  I am going to feed 'Deuce' the rest of my pizza from the other day-- he loves the meat!  Woo Woo.  Got to pay about $40 some bucks for a 40 pound sack of dog food! And the price of a good breakfast today seems to have really gone UP to about $9 for a country skillet-- and I was so hungry today!!!
I don't find it surprising that some people would trade their portion of food, for drugs, smokes, or booze, because I remember a POW in Germany saying just that of/ about his recollection of  WW-2, Concentration camp, that some would actually swap their food for one cigarette!  Talk about a 'monkey on your back.'  Sorry, I just don't have much pity for people who just refuse to get their priorities straightened out.  But don't worry, children, times will get much more worse and harder in the near future.  Some will wish they had treated me right/ better when I had my hat in my hand with silver in my pocket, looking for a simple hug.  I know that I am too emotional, and the loss of my passed wife still grieves me [my son, Andy too- killed in the month of May 2011], and I get very lonely at times with only 'Deuce' the Rottweiler for company....Ha!  But he's cool and entertains me.  I need a real Christian  lady close to my age [certainly not perfect] to hug and to hold, and to spoil, and to talk with-- something that can blossom into a serious relationship-- with the Lord included, down the road-- if the rapture doesn't precede...  I just can't have a real conversation with my dog-- although I have over heard more than a few women try to do just that... [joke].  yet they lacked proper words for humans, like me...lol.

Time to kick back, enjoy retirement and get my mail.  It was so nice, and cool to retired with full Chrysler benefits after 30.5 years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears on the assembly line-- making some life long good friends, at age 54!  Wow!  I made it, but most of us there got carpal tunnel, repetitive work related injuries, surgeries, and came out the 'walking wounded.'  Still have great medical/ health insurance/ benefits, but we earned them!  That didn't stop the company from just taking away some of our benefits without even consulting the retirees!  Oh well.  I also have 100% free [earned] med coverage from the VA [Gov't], so like I said, the Lord has blessed me, big time.  A few women engaged me just for that very coverage/ reason of health Ins., in the past.
But who really thinks that they can actually 'get away' with anything??  I found out that I am personally not smart enough to "get away" with sin, crime, deception, lying, etc., so I decided to just be a law abiding citizen of the USA, and things usually go right for me-- Old Soldier Tom, and that's the way it should be, IMHO.

Hugs,
Tom ....  at the Wall, in D.C., a few years ago.

Learning Experience.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Hi Friends,
I just have a happy, sober, realistic, mature out look on life today-- and at least the sun is out for part of the day, but high winds are supposed to come this aft in S.E Wisconsin.
Every once in a while I need to just pull back and take stock of my life, situation to get a fresh prospective. Besides careful consideration of the Bible, I normally call, email some of my good buddies all over America, visit and ask their advice, and most of them are Christians and combat Veterans with plenty of experience, smarts and insight....  so then I add the sum total and make my final decision. Proverbs:  'There is wisdom in a multitude of counselors.'
I am always reaching out to meet and make new friends, usually brothers and sister in the Faith, and don't we all have our guide lines to discriminate somewhat?   Hard, painful experience has taught me to beware the wrong kind of people who are "takers" rather than "givers"-- and I am NOT pointing to anyone in particular! "Winners win-- and losers lose" but isn't it strange how the proud, haughty, independent folks always seem to be in want and ever satisfied with their lot in life. Perhaps it's because they have their personal priorities all turned around, and just want things THEIR way ALL time time.  I had to figure that out for myself too in my past life-- but i am sure that the Holy Spirit had some bearing on it too.  Isn't it amazing what a little humility and Bible study can do for a sinner man??    Sure we all 'take' --but it's nice and correct to be "balanced" and the Bible tells us what God sees as being "NORMAL" and proper, even as we are ALL sinners and fall 'short of the mark' of perfection. The book of Ephesians talks about the real meaning of "Love."  It's a short book that we can all read in 2 hours or less... but few will ever crack that sound book open.   I could NEVER live with a perfect woman-- because she would just magnify all my imperfections with intensity under a bright light,  and show me to be 'wanting' [Old English term].
I was just finishing my Prime Rib dinner from yesterday for my lunch today, along with kidney bean salad and broccoli, and I gave Deuce the Rottweiler, the bone, and what a happy hound!  He has fresh dog food and water, but we all know what he's going to eat first... huh?
The 2011 Ford Escape is just too small for a 6 foot tall man as I am, but I will suffer through with the rental vehicle until my own Dodge 4 by 4 Ram is repaired.  I am going to trust my gut instinct and buy two new special tires for the back  before Winter, as they are over 4 years old and I just hate the way they slip on wet pavement...  sorry.   And when I turn on my 4 wheel drive with a twist of a small knob, it uses more gas/ fuel, and don't worry folks, that gas WILL return to $4 +/ gallon sooner than you want to consider.   I just don't feel like taking anymore chances with Old Betsy... my 2007 Ram-- "Big Horn edition," -- but I love my big, roomy truck that protects me like an armored combat tank!  Much harder times are coming, economically speaking, and other wise,  mark my word!  Mark the Bible's true Word too!
Yup,  sometimes "Silence is Golden" when a man just needs to be alone and sort things out to get his mind straight, and I never figured that silence was so important until today... lol.  Things are not so bad with me anyway and sometimes we need a dose of the loud,  noisy, disorganized, goofiness, style of  life to drive that point home...LOL, to appreciate the peace, quiet and orderliness, empowered by owning one's own house...PTL.  Thank you, dear Lord, for 'correcting me in your kindness-- and not in your wrath.'  You are a mighty, wise and just God. and I suppose we all need reminders.
Bless all real and true Believers who study your Word daily and share the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, for they will sleep well at night.
Thank you, Bro. Dan Totts, for your good wisdom and advice today.

Warm Regards, Christian Hugs,
Tommy Schuckman

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

INTRODUCTION

Every September,  I recall that is now more than 65 years since I landed
at Nagasaki with the 2nd Marine Division in the original occupation of
Japan following World War II. This time every year,  I  have  watched
and listened  to the light-hearted   "peaceniks" and   their  light-headed
symbolism-without-substance of ringing bells, flying pigeons, floating
candles, and sonorous chanting and I recall again that "Peace is not a
cause - it is an effect."

In July, 1945, my fellow 8th RCT Marines [I was an ARman] and I returned to
Saipan following the successful conclusion of the Battle of Okinawa. We were
issued new equipment and replacements joined each outfit in preparation for
our coming amphibious assault on the home islands of Japan.

B-29 bombing had leveled the major cities of Japan, including Kobe, Osaka,
Nagoya, Yokohama, Yokosuka, and Tokyo.

We were informed we would land three Marine divisions and six Army
divisions,  perhaps abreast, with large reserves following us in. It was
estimated that it would cost half a million casualties to subdue the
Japanese homeland.

In August, the A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima but the Japanese government
refused to surrender. Three days later a second A-bomb was dropped on the
city of Nagasaki.  The Imperial Japanese government finally surrendered.
Following the 1941 sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, a Japanese admiral said, "I
fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant..." Indeed, they had.
Not surprisingly, the atomic bomb was produced by a free people functioning
in a free environment. Not surprisingly because the creative process is a
natural human choice-making process and inventiveness occurs most readily
where choice-making opportunities abound.  America!
Tamper with a giant, indeed! Tyrants, beware: Free men are nature's pit
bulls of Liberty! The Japanese learned the hard way what tyrants of any
generation should know: Never start a war with a free people - you never
know what they may invent!

As  a  newly  assigned  member  of  a  U.S. Marine intelligence section, I
had a unique opportunity to visit many  major  cities  of  Japan,  including
Tokyo  and Hiroshima, within weeks of their destruction. For a full year I
observed the beaches, weapons, and troops we would  have  assaulted  had
the  A-bombs  not  been dropped. Yes, it would have been very destructive
for all, but especially for  the people of  Japan.
One of the most constructive programs we initiated was to over-see first free election
in Japanese history - which included the women's Right to vote equal to the men!
That single event alone did more to turn Japan right-side-up than anything else
we did in the occupation! It had a marvelous and on-going healthy effect on their
daily lives. Individual value had arrived - to stay! Thank you, General MacArthur!

When we landed in Japan, for what came to be the finest and most humane
occupation of a defeated enemy in recorded history, it was with great
appreciation, thanksgiving, and praise for the atomic bomb team, including
the aircrew of the Enola Gay. A half million American homes had been spared
the Gold Star flag, including, I'm sure, my own.

Whenever I hear the apologists expressing guilt and shame for A-bombing and
ending the war Japan had started (they ignore the cause-effect relation
between Pearl Harbor and Nagasaki), I have noted that neither the effete
critics nor the puff-adder politicians are among us in the assault
landing-craft or the stinking rice paddies of their suggested alternative,
"conventional" warfare. Stammering reluctance is obvious and continuous, but
they do love to pontificate about the Rights that others, and the Bomb, have
bought and preserved for them.

The vanities of ignorance and camouflaged cowardice abound as license for
the assertion of virtuous "rights" purchased by the blood of others - those
others who have borne the burden and physical expense of Rights whining
apologists so casually and self-righteously claim.

At best, these fakers manifest a profound and cryptic ignorance of causal
relations, myopic perception, and dull I.Q. At worst, there is a word and
description in The Constitution defining those who love the enemy more than
they love their own countrymen and their own posterity. Every Yankee Doodle
Dandy knows what that word is.

In 1945, America was the only nation in the world with the Bomb and it
behaved responsibly and respectfully. It remained so until two among us
betrayed it to the Kremlin. Still, this American weapon system has been the
prime deterrent to earth's latest model world- tyranny: Seventy years of
Soviet collectivist definition, coercion, and domination of individual human
beings.
The message is this: Trust Freedom. Remember, tyrants never learn. The
restriction of Freedom is the limitation of human choice, and choice is the
fulcrum-point of the creative process in human affairs. As earth's
choicemaker, it is our human identity on nature's beautiful blue planet and
the natural premise of man's free institutions, environments, and respectful
relations with one another. Made in the image of our Creator, free men
choose, create, and progress - or die.

Free men should not fear the moon-god-crowd oppressor nor choose any of his
ways. Recall with a confident Job and a victorious David, "Know ye not you
are in league with the stones of the field?"

The Human Paradigm: Earth's Choicemaker  Psalm 25:12

Consider: The missing element in every human 'solution' is an accurate
definition of the creature.

In an effort to diminish the multiple and persistent dangers and abuses
which have characterized the affairs of man in his every Age, and to assist
in the requisite search for human identity, it is essential to perceive and
specify that distinction which naturally and most uniquely defines the human
being.

Because definitions rule in the minds, behaviors, and institutions of men,
we can be confident that delineating and communicating that quality will
assist the process of resolution and the courageous ascension to which
man is called. As Americans of the 21st Century, we are obliged and
privileged to join our forebears and participate in this continuing
paradigm proclamation.

"WHAT IS MAN...?" God asks - and answers:
HUMAN DEFINED: EARTH'S CHOICEMAKER
by James Fletcher Baxter  (c)  2011 AD

The  way we define 'human' determines our view of self, others,
relationships, institutions, life, and future. Many problems in human
experience are the result of false and inaccurate definitions of humankind
premised in man-made religions and humanistic philosophies.

Human knowledge is a fraction of the whole universe. The balance is a vast
void of human ignorance. Human reason cannot fully function in such a void;
thus, the intellect can rise no higher than the criteria by which it perceives and
measures values.

Humanism makes man his own standard of measure.  However, as with all
measuring systems, a standard must be greater than the value measured. Based
on preponderant ignorance and an egocentric carnal nature, humanism demotes
reason to the simpleton task of excuse-making in behalf of the rule of
appetites, desires, feelings, emotions, - and glands.

Because man, hobbled in an ego-centric predicament, cannot invent criteria
greater than himself, the humanist lacks a predictive capability. Thus, his
man-made criteria rises no higher than eyebrows - and too often, no higher
than pubic hair! Without instinct or transcendent criteria, humanism  cannot
evaluate options with foresight and vision  for progression  and survival.
Lacking foresight, man is blind to potential consequence and is unwittingly
committed to mediocrity, collectivism, averages, and regression - and worse.
Humanism is an unworthy worship.

The void of human ignorance can easily be filled with a functional faith
while not-so-patiently awaiting the foot-dragging growth of human knowledge
and behavior. Faith, initiated by the Creator and revealed and validated in
His Word, the Bible, brings a transcendent standard to man the choice-maker.
Other philosophies and religions are man-made, humanism, and thereby lack
what only the Bible has:

1.Transcendent Criteria and
2.Fulfilled Prophetic Validation.

The vision of faith in God and His Word is survival equipment for today and
the future. Only the Creator, who made us in His own image, is qualified to
define us accurately.

Human is earth's Choicemaker. Psalm 25:12 He is by nature and nature's
God a creature of Choice - and of Criteria. Psalm 119:30,173 His unique and
definitive characteristic is, and of Right ought to be, the natural
foundation of his environments, institutions, and respectful relations to
his fellow-man. Thus, he is oriented to a Freedom whose roots are in the
Order of the universe. selah

At the sub-atomic level of the physical universe quantum physics indicates a
multifarious gap or division in the causal chain; particles to which
position cannot be assigned at all times, systems that pass from one energy
state to another without manifestation in intermediate states, entities
without mass, fields whose substance is as insubstantial as "a probability."

Only statistical conglomerates pay tribute to deterministic forces.
Singularities do not and are therefore random, unpredictable, mutant, and in
this sense, uncaused. The finest contribution inanimate reality is capable
of making toward choice, without its own selective agencies, is this
continuing manifestation of opportunity as the pre-condition to choice it
defers to the natural action of living forms.

Biological science affirms that each level of life, single-cell to man
himself, possesses attributes of sensitivity, discrimination, and
selectivity, and in the exclusive and unique nature of each diversified life
form.

The survival and progression of life forms has all too often been dependent
upon the ever-present undeterminative potential and appearance of one unique
individual organism within the whole spectrum of a given life-form. Only the
uniquely equipped individual organism is, like The Golden Wedge of Ophir,
capable of traversing the causal gap to survival and progression. Mere
reproductive determinacy would have rendered life forms incapable of such
potential.

Only a moving universe of opportunity plus choice enables the present
reality.
Each individual human being possesses a unique, highly developed, and
sensitive perception of variety. Thus aware, man is endowed with a natural
capability for enacting internal mental and external physical selectivity.
Quantitative and qualitative choice-making thus lends itself as the superior
basis of an active intelligence.

Human is earth's Choicemaker. His title describes his definitive and
typifying characteristic. Recall that his other features are but vehicles of
experience intent on the development of perceptive awareness and the
following acts of decision and choice. Note that the products of man cannot
define him for they are the fruit of the discerning choicemaking process and
include the cognition of self, the utility of experience, the development of
value  measuring systems and language, and the acculturation of
civilization.

The arts and the sciences of man, as with his habits, customs, and
traditions, are the creative harvest of his perceptive and selective powers.
Creativity, the creative process,  is a choice-making process. His articles,
constructs, and commodities, however marvelous to behold, deserve neither
awe nor idolatry,
for man, not his contrivance, is earth's own highest
expression of the creative process.
Human is earth's Choicemaker. The sublime and significant act of choosing
is, itself, the Archimedean fulcrum upon which man levers and redirects the
forces of cause and effect to an elected level of quality and diversity.
Further, it orients him toward a natural environmental opportunity, freedom,
and bestows earth's paradigm title, The Choicemaker, on his singular and
plural brow.

In the Bible, God's Word has accurately defined the human being as
'the earth creature endowed with the ability to choose.' His natural Rights,
therefore, are merely an extension and application of natural human
endowments, which all humans - everywhere in the world - possess.

Even as goldfish, canaries, and puppy dogs require an environment
based on their natural features, so humans require external freedom
to fulfill their natural internal abilities of decision, choice, selection,
election, and consent. Uniquely, America was founded on this definitive
paradigm in human nature. All nations should reject foundational human
opinion that teaches otherwise.

Deterministic systems, ideological symbols of abdication by man from his
natural role as earth's Choicemaker, inevitably degenerate into
collectivism; the negation of singularity, they become a conglomerate
plural-based system of measuring human value. Blunting an awareness of
diversity, blurring alternatives, and limiting the selective creative
process, they are self-relegated to a passive and circular
regression.
Tampering with man's selective nature endangers his survival for it would
render him impotent and obsolete by denying the tools of variety,
individuality, perception, criteria, selectivity, and progress. Coercive
attempts produce revulsion, for such acts are
contrary to an indeterminate
nature and nature's indeterminate off-spring, man the Choicemaker.

Until the oppressors discover that wisdom only just begins with a respectful
acknowledgment of The Creator, The Creation, and The Choicemaker, they will
be ever learning but never coming to a knowledge of the truth. The rejection of
Creator-initiated standards relegates  the mind of man to its own primitive,
empirical, and delimited devices. It is thus that the human intellect cannot
ascend and function at any level higher than the criteria by which it
perceives and measures values.

Additionally, such rejection of transcendent criteria self-denies man the
vision and foresight essential to decision-making for survival and
progression. He is left, instead, with the redundant wreckage of expensive
hind  sight, including human institutions characterized by averages,
mediocrity, and regression.
Humanism, mired in the circular and mundane egocentric predicament, is
ill-equipped to produce transcendent criteria. Evidenced by those who do not
perceive superiority and thus find themselves beset by the shifting winds of
the carnal-ego; i.e., moods, feelings, desires, appetites, etc., the mind
becomes subordinate: a mere device for excuse-making and rationalizing
self-justification.

The carnal-ego rejects criteria and self-discipline for such instruments are
tools of the mind and the attitude. The appetites of the flesh have no need
of standards for at the point of contention standards are perceived as
alien,  restrictive, and inhibiting. Yet, the very survival of our physical
nature itself depends upon a maintained sovereignty of the mind and of the
spirit.

It remained, therefore, to the initiative of a personal and living Creator
to traverse the human horizon and fill the  vast void of human ignorance
with an intelligent and definitive faith. Man is thus afforded the prime
tool of the intellect - a Transcendent Standard by which he may measure
values in experience, anticipate results, and make enlightened and visionary
choices.

Only the unique and superior God-man Person can deservedly displace the
ego-person from his predicament and free the individual to measure values
and choose in a more excellent way. That sublime Person was indicated in the
words of the prophet Amos, "...said the Lord, Behold,

I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel." Y'shua Mashiyach
Jesus said,  "If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto myself."

As long as some choose to abdicate their personal reality and submit to the
delusions of humanism, determinism, and collectivism, just so long will they
be subject and re-acting only, to be tossed by every impulse emanating from
others. Those who abdicate such reality may, in perfect  justice, find
themselves weighed in the balances of their own choosing.

That human institution which is structured on the principle, "...all men are
endowed by their Creator with...Liberty...," is a system with its roots in
the natural Order of the universe. The opponents of such a system are
necessarily engaged in a losing contest with nature and  nature's God.
Biblical principles are still today the foundation under Western
Civilization and the American way of life. To the advent of a new season we
commend the present generation and the "multitudes in the valley of
decision."

Let us proclaim it. Behold!
The Season of Generation-Choicemaker

CONTEMPORARY COMMENTS
"I should think that if there is one thing that man has learned about
himself it is that he is a creature of choice." Richard M. Weaver

"Man is a being capable of subduing his emotions and impulses; he can
rationalize his behavior. He arranges his wishes into a scale, he chooses;
in short, he acts. What distinguishes man from beasts is precisely that he
adjusts his behavior deliberately." Ludwig von Mises

"To make any sense of the idea of morality, it must be presumed that the
human being is responsible for his actions and responsibility cannot be
understood apart from the presumption of freedom of choice."  John
Chamberlain

"The advocate of liberty believes that it is complementary of the orderly
laws of cause and  effect, of probability and of chance, of which man is not
completely informed. It is complementary of them because it rests in part
upon the faith that each individual is endowed by his Creator with the power
of individual choice." Wendell J. Brown

"These examples demonstrate a basic truth -- that human dignity is embodied
in the free choice of individuals."  Condoleeza Rice

"Our Founding Fathers believed that we live in an ordered universe. They
believed themselves to be a part of the universal order of things. Stated
another way, they believed in God. They believed that every man must find
his own place in a world where a place has been made for him. They sought
independence for their nation but, more importantly, they sought freedom for
individuals to think and act for themselves. They established a republic
dedicated to one purpose above all others - the preservation of individual
liberty..."  Ralph W. Husted

"We have the gift of an inner liberty so far-reaching that we can choose
either to accept or reject the God who gave it to us, and it would seem to
follow that the Author of a liberty so radical wills that we should be
equally free in our relationships with other men.  Spiritual liberty
logically demands conditions of outer and social freedom for its
completion." Edmund A. Opitz

"Above all I see an ability to choose the better from the worse that has
made possible life's progress."  Charles Lindbergh

"Freedom is the Right to Choose, the Right to create for oneself the
alternatives of Choice. Without the possibility of Choice, and the exercise
of Choice, a man is not a man but a member, an instrument, a thing." Thomas
Jefferson
