The Rapture (Part Nine 9).

And here we are again --shedding more light on perhaps the most important subject after true Salvation thru Christ's precious BLOOD on the cross !! This post also give me better, sharper tools with which to explain with more pure logic, the Rapture! Good! I would ask that recent followers just read this post slowly to get all the ducks in place, please. It's both heavy and important info.

And, as for the nasty killer flu that is going around this year, even making in roads U.P. here in the North where Terri and I live.... brrrrrrrr, like me recommend something simple that could really help you: Just take some multi-grain bread-- to make toast, and then spread pure, un-cooked raw HONEY, sprinkled with natural cinnamon on it for your breakfast. I may not just hand out medical advice, but I can and will pass on good herbal stuff that has kept me alive for the past 40 some years. The help the body fight off bad karma [lol], I use on a daily basis: capsicum [red pepper] in capsules, garlic, ginger, Cinnamon, etc., for MY particular challenges, blood circulation, arthritis, blood pressure [both kinds- high and low], etc. But anyone with an average IQ can do the same research on-line, or buy a good book on herbs for healing, dear friends!
Reading the Psalms daily helps me to calm down and sleep better too -- also good for PTSD, etc. Prayer works wonders too.

The Rapture (Part 9)

My previous articles commenced a series on the rapture of the church. We began with the question, "What is the Rapture?" This question can best be answered by noting ten truths about the rapture from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. In previous articles from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, we saw that the rapture is an important doctrine and not something that can be marginalized or explained away as a secondary doctrine. We also noted that the rapture is an event that is distinct from the Second Advent of Christ. We further observed that the rapture will involve the catching up of every believer to meet the Lord in the air, and that the rapture will involve a reunion between living and deceased Church-Age believers. We then began to examine several more points from 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. We noted that the rapture will be a resurrection, will exempt an entire generation of believers from death, will be an instantaneous event, and is a mystery. We now move on to our ninth point.

An Imminent Event

Ninth, the rapture is imminent. First Corinthians 15:51 says, "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed..." (italics added). First Thessalonians 4:15 similarly says, "For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep" (italics added). In both of these passages, note Paul’s use of the pronoun "we." As Paul was unfolding the concept of the rapture to both the Corinthians and the Thessalonians, he anticipated that this event could have taken place in his own lifetime. In other words, Paul maintained that the rapture could happen at any moment. No prophetic sign had to first transpire before the rapture could occur. Another way of saying this is that the rapture is a sign-less event. The term that theologians typically employ in order to describe this reality is "imminency."
In fact, the New Testament routinely depicts the coming of Christ for His church through the rapture as the very next event on the prophetic horizon. This event has the potential of taking place within the next split second. Note the imminency language found in the following New Testament texts. James 5:8 says, "You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near." First Thessalonians 1:10 teaches, "and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come." First Corinthians 1:7 similarly notes, "so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ." According to Philippians 3:20, "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." All of these verses indicate that at any moment Christ could break back into history to rescue His church form God's coming wrath. Consequently, the church is to live in eager expectation of the any-moment return of the Lord.
Interestingly, the New Testament never exhorts the church to eagerly await any other prophetic sign such as the Antichrist's treaty with Israel or the rebuilding of the tribulation temple. We are not to be looking for the Antichrist. Rather, we are to be looking for Jesus Christ! While it is true that both the Old and New Testament alike do describe key eschatological events such as the coming Antichrist, the peace treaty between the Antichrist and Israel, and the tribulation temple (Dan. 9:27; 1 Thess. 5:3; 2 Thess. 2:1-12; Rev. 13), we are never exhorted to make these things our focus or immediate expectation. On the contrary, the New Testament is clear that we should be focused upon and eagerly awaiting the soon-return of our Savior.
While there are a plethora of signs that first must transpire before Christ can return at the end of the seven-year tribulation period, there are no signs that must occur before the rapture of the church can take place. Yet, the emergence of various signs in our world that are obviously setting the stage for the coming tribulation period alert us to the reality that the rapture cannot be far away. The following holiday analogy is often used to explain this interplay. When we observe people putting up Christmas trees and hanging Christmas lights, department stores putting up replicas of Santa Claus, and radio stations playing Christmas music, we know that the Christmas holiday is fast approaching. These are all signs setting the stage for the celebration of Christmas. However, if these signs begin to occur early enough in November, then we also know that Thanksgiving is approaching even faster since Thanksgiving precedes Christmas on the calendar. Similarly, there are significant signs in our world setting the stage for the coming tribulation period. Such signs include the regathering of the Jews into the land of Israel in unbelief, the trend amongst our political leaders toward a one-world government, the advent of microchip technology, etc... While these signs alert us to the soon approaching tribulation period, they also indirectly inform us that the rapture is coming even faster since (as will be defended in subsequent articles) the rapture must precede the tribulation period. In other words, just as the signs of Christmas alert us to the rapidly approaching Thanksgiving holiday, the signs of the coming Tribulation similarly alert us to the rapidly approaching rapture.
We often hear the misguided proposition that those who are the most heavenly minded are the least earthly good. In actuality, the opposite is true. The doctrine of imminency provides a natural stimulus for holy living in daily life. If we are honest with ourselves, our work habit changes when our boss tells us that he will be back in two weeks versus him telling us that he could poke his head into our office at any moment to ascertain our progress. In the same way, we naturally live differently upon understanding that Christ could return for us at any moment. When I was younger, I lived at my parents house. They would often go away for the weekend and put me in charge of the house. Because they usually told me that they would be back Sunday night, I frequently let the house fall apart on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday morning, however, I started putting the house in proper order. Why? I did not want my parents to return and find things in a neglected condition. Why did I wait until Sunday? I knew that because they would not be back on Friday or Saturday, I could "slack off" during that time. If they had instead told me that they could return anytime between Friday and Sunday, I would have kept the house in the best possible shape all weekend long.
Similarly, when we study imminency and recognize that Jesus could return at any moment to either give or not give us rewards, based upon how we spent our lives in Christ (2 Cor. 5:10), we are given a tremendous incentive to live right because we do not want Him to return and find us in an embarrassing spiritual condition (1 John 2:28). Thus, 1 John 3:2-3 indicates that everyone who has the hope of Christ's any moment coming purifies himself. Similarly, many of the New Testament scriptural exhortations for daily living are linked to the doctrine of Christ's imminent appearing. For example, James 5:8 says, "You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near." Notice that the any-moment return of the Lord is what gives us an incentive to be patient and stand firm. There are several other practical exhortations for daily living connected to Christ's imminent return found throughout the Bible, such as an encouragement to faithfulness in church leadership (2 Tim. 4:1-2), gentleness (Philip. 4:5) and self-control (1 Pet. 1:13). Sadly, many Christians fail to see how the study of the any-moment return of Christ could positively impact their daily lives. In short, if the doctrine of imminency is ignored, a strong stimulus for holy living is removed.
Not only does the doctrine of imminency create a desire to live holy lives, but it also provides a powerful incentive for evangelistic activity and fervor. If we come to the realization that Christ could return at any moment for His own and then the world will experience seven horrific years of divine judgment, then we will have a strong desire to reach out to the unsaved with the gospel. Why? We would not want unsaved family members, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to be left behind and thus experience that horrific time period. Instead, we would long to see them escape by coming to faith in Christ. Thus, understanding imminency can provide a powerful motivator for evangelism.
Church historians tell us that the two greatest evangelism periods in the history of the church were the church's first two centuries and from the nineteenth century onward. What do both time periods have in common? During both eras, the church adhered to a literal interpretation of prophecy. Once church leaders moved away from a literal interpretation of prophecy in the third century, the fires of evangelism quickly died out. As prophecy was allegorized, symbolized, and spiritualized away during this period, the potent effect of the any-moment return of Christ on the believer and evangelism was diminished. The spark of evangelism was not reignited until a literal interpretation of Scripture was recovered during the Reformation and later applied to the whole subject of biblical eschatology. [1] Injuring the study of prophecy in general and the doctrine of imminency in particular simultaneously injures the cause of evangelism. Because of the impetus that the doctrine of imminency has on the believer's daily holiness as well his evangelistic intensity, Satan has worked overtime throughout church history to obscure and remove this doctrine from church teaching and the believer's thinking.
In sum, not only is the rapture an important doctrine, an event that is distinct from the Second Advent of Christ, an event that will involve the catching up of every believer to meet the Lord in the air, a reunion of living and deceased Church-Age believers, a resurrection, an event that exempts an entire generation of Church-Age believers from death, an instantaneous event, and a mystery, but the rapture is also an imminent event that can take place at any moment.

Not for the Timid.

Dear Friends and Readers: This is NOT for the Timid.   This Biblical information will surely upset many people who are not familiar with God's Word -- the Bible. I encourage all the get into a "Good Habit" this year --2013.... read and study the Bible every day. And I want to be in that number too!
    God Bless all true Believers, Brothers and Sisters who love Jesus and the Good Book, who had the humility to bend knee to the one and only LORD, Jesus Christ, seeking Salvation through His blood alone.
     We had a good church Prayer Meeting tonight, and Terri had today off from work -- so she came along too, and enjoyed it -- we always learn a lot from God's servant, our humble Pastor Kevin Sullivan, who does a great job.... U.P. here.

The future of our existence on earth and the USA is slipping away fast, and imperfect humans THINK that they can some how save America by their own puny, impish hands, and unlawful, illegal, "Executive Orders" that circumvent the Congress and Senate, and also trash our U.S. Constitution -- while God already has His grand Plan in place, recorded for a long time -- see below for yourselves, please.   How ought we prepare for terrible times ahead?? "Draw close to God, and He will draw close to you." ~Book of James [the half brother of Jesus].    How can a nation ever gain God's Blessing when so many abortions are sanctioned by our 'leaders' -- plus the Gay Agenda too?? These acts are terrible and wicked in God's eyes! Beware: the ONE WORLD GOV'T is still right on schedule as the wicked human powers that be, [and dark, demonic spirit world] would have it.
   If this material is hard for you to grasp the first time, DON'T QUIT! Just read it again, but more slowly, but pray for the Holy Spirit to help you understand it.

And did you also know what VP Biden said today?? That obama is considering an "Executive Order" to ban all guns [or some drastic similar illegal gun grab] in the very near future -- in AMERICA!! There would be so many nasty ramifications is he tries this stunt -- and I will bet that the Congress is too cowardly to resist such an unlawful event! Shame...   Sorry. If this really happens -- we will be slaves, not freemen. I am so glad that most well trained Christians believe that the Rapture is coming soon.

3. A Moslem Coalition Armed And Led By Russia Will Attack The Holy Land… Ezek. 38:2-6

“Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army–your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops–the many nations with you.”
Numerous historical references make it plain that Magog stands for modern Russia, and the other countries named here form a coalition based on their common religion, Islam. Among them are Iran, several North African countries, Eastern European countries along the Danube, and the Turkic nations of Asia Minor. A quick look at a world map will reveal that these areas are home to some of the most radical Islamic groups. (For a detailed explanation of the modern nations to which these Biblical names refer, read “An In Depth Look At The Modern Equivalent To Biblical Names in Ezek.38″)
Directly or indirectly, the Russians are already a supplier of arms for the nations who will form this coalition, just as Ezekiel prophesied, and will be drawn into joining in this battle by God Himself. Russia’s barely disguised policy of becoming the major outside force in the Middle East is playing right into the Lord’s hands. Russia has moved part of its Black Sea fleet, including its only aircraft carrier, into the Eastern Mediterranean off the coast of Syria and has recently deployed shore to ship and anti-aircraft missile batteries in Syria as well. Russia and Iran are well into the implementation of a $50 billion deal to provide Iran with nuclear power. The 10 reactors called for in the deal are supposedly for electrical power generation, but most western leaders are convinced they’ll be used to create material for bombs, too. So far, only the one in Busheir is on line.
Various experts had claimed that Iran would become a nuclear power in 2012, but despite the continuing damage caused by the mysterious Stuxnet computer virus and several unexplained explosions, some still think a bomb is possible in early to mid 2013. Israel and the US have both vowed to prevent that ever happening and after a period of vacillation the language coming out of Washington at year end seems to be getting tougher again.
It’s important to remember that if either the US or Israel or both attack Iran it would not be a fulfillment of Ezekiel 38. The prophecy calls for a sneak attack on Israel, not the other way around. Currently that’s the major obstacle to an early fulfillment of this prophecy. It has to occur at a time when Israel is “a peaceful and unsuspecting people” (Ezekiel 38:11) and this certainly is not the case today.
But Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17 are yet-to-be-fulfilled prophecies that taken together appear to involve all of Israel’s next door neighbors in another attempt to wipe the Jewish nation off the map. A victory by Israel would explain why none of them are named in Ezekiel’s list of antagonists, although you’d expect them to be at or near the top of the list. It would also explain how Israel could soon be living in a perceived state of safety as Ezekiel 38:11 requires.
Syria could possibly be in the early stages of fulfilling Isaiah 17 and surrounding nations are preparing for the worst. Recent UN estimates indicate 60,000 or more Syrians have already died since March 2011 when the uprising began. Hamas and Hezbollah continue to make frantic preparations for war, insisting there will be one very soon. Not surprisingly, these preparations are being directed and funded by Iran. Through out 2012 experts on both sides publicly announced their conclusions that a regional war is imminent, but at year’s end it hasn’t happened yet. I think there’s a better than even chance that if the situation in Syria deteriorates into a fulfillment of Isaiah 17, it will trigger Psalm 83 as well.
One pre-requisite for Ezekiel’s battle is clearly being met. Till now Israel really hasn’t had any wealth to speak of, but recent oil and gas discoveries, said to be worth billions of dollars, could provide the wealth necessary to make Israel an attractive target for attack. This could fulfill the precondition of Ezekiel 38:13 that Russia will be looking for plunder. There could be enough natural gas to supply Israel’s needs for more than 100 years while turning the country from a net importer to a net exporter. Russia is already looking for ways to get involved in bringing this gas to market, and according to Ezekiel they’ll go to war in what will turn out to be a failed attempt to do so.
I believe the removal of the US as Israel’s powerful ally is also necessary to pave the way for Ezekiel’s battle, because I don’t think the Moslem coalition will attack until they’re sure the US won’t retaliate. Any one of several scenarios currently being played out could accomplish this, especially since our national policy toward Israel is not what it once was. A double dip recession could turn the nation inward again and cause us to lose interest in defending Israel. Further decline of the dollar on world markets could even render us financially unable to do so. The threat or actual occurrence of a major terrorist attack could cause us to stand down. And finally, the Rapture of the Church could deprive the US of the ability to respond. Any one of these would mean serious trouble for the US and all of them have a better than average probability of coming to pass in the year ahead. In summary, it’s a becoming a whole lot easier to see the US abandoning its commitment to Israel.
When the time is right, having recently taken His church to Heaven, the Lord will use this battle to orchestrate His reconciliation with Israel, and on its heels the anti Christ will emerge with a peace plan that includes a Jewish Temple. So once this battle takes place, end times prophecy will really go on fast forward.

It would be a fine thought and action if YOU would just pass this helpful post along to any real Combat Veterans that you know -- TODAY! "Suicide is a long term solution to a short term thing." There are remedies to many horrific circumstances [where even the Gov't- USA, totally dropped the ball, with all their silly red tape and bumbling...sorry]. There is something that I JUST got into called, "Peer Support" at the local Iron Mountain, MI 49801 VAMC, that I will start to attend this Thursday! Also, the "VET CENTER" that is NOT part of any Gov't BS, has helped me big time too, many years ago, where we will see ONLY Veterans. Because... ONLY a Veteran who has seen combat [in some way] can really help and share stuff with another Veteran, and that is my personal opinion. Some so-called professionals are 'said' to be able to help combat Vets... but in my humble opinion, the jury is still out on that subject. Please don't let things go too far that you either hurt yourself, some loved one, or go to prison because you are 'too tough' or macho to bend a little bit --"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean NOT upon your own understanding." ~Proverbs 3:5. Memorize this, please. For those of you who need some fast/ quick help, or just need to talk to another combat Veteran-- been in Vietnam for 2 years: 68-70, Helicopter door gunner, etc.... email me: tschuckman@aol.com

If you can hold on for a bit more-- I need to tell you that a great war in heaven is about to break loose, and we are living in the "Last Days" of this wicked Satanic system when things, survival, just making a simple living, will get rapidly worse -- BUT YOU CAN AND WILL SURVIVE, by the Grace of God ! BTW, the HOLY SPIRIT, is very powerful and will help you all, IF, AND ONLY IF you are sincere and honest in your personal request to God Almighty, and it's FREE !!    What you need to do is to just be alone or with a real, born-again Christian, and ask the Lord God to be with you from now on, confess you sins [alone] to God, and then ask/ beg the Holy Spirit, and Jesus to be with you and help you with your personal problems. That is what we ALL had to do at some point in our lives. Then you can know and feel the Spirit give you the strength and knowledge that you are indeed going to heaven. Period. After that you need to put the 'right stuff' into your mind-- the Bible. Start by reading the book of John, and then the book of Romans. Then later, find a good, fundamental, Bible loving/ preaching Christian church, if you can find one. My wife and I attend the Family Baptist church, in Iron Mountain, MI 49801, but there are many others all over America. Just let the Holy Spirit, and your new found knowledge be your guide.... or contact me, and I will try to help you.   I am on Face Book too.

I hope and pray that it doesn't take you some 20 years before you find the right church [Christianity is not a 'religion' -- but a way of Life!].   For one thing, most bible read Christians totally believe that the Rapture is near-- and you don't have very much time to squander!    If so-called 'Christians' tell you that the Rapture is far away or non-existent -- run the other way!

The total destruction of the oldest, inhabited city in the world, Damascus, in Syria, will happen soon enough too, and that COULD happen before or after the Rapture.   I am sure that you all can put 2 + 2 together, as that place has the lion's share of poison gas and other destructive WMD bombs and missiles-- so there is "probable cause" that it is a prime target, and no one wants the rebels or Islam-a-Socialists to get their hands on those things.... CONNECT THE DOTS. I offer this as a little tid bit for proof and referernce, as you might need a point to chew on, and think about, Brothers.

What can it mean if I have trouble sleeping?

You lay awake at night and can’t sleep. You’re restless and feel tired during the day. Nightmares wake you up. You’re unable to go back to sleep. Are sleep problems making it hard for you to get through the day?
Sometimes sleep problems are a result of a traumatic experience or stressful event in your military or civilian life. Other times, negative thoughts or worry might make it hard to fall asleep or cause you to wake up easily during the night. You might dread having nightmares or find your thoughts focused on problems in your life. Chronic pain, stomach problems, alcohol or drug use, or other physical ailments also might disturb your sleep.
Good sleep is important for overall good health. The amount of sleep each person needs varies, but seven to nine hours of sleep is ideal for most adults. To feel well rested, your body also needs to go through a series of sleep stages. When those sleep stages are interrupted, you may feel especially tired or have trouble concentrating the next day.

“I used to fall asleep so easily during my deployment, even with all the loud noises and 24/7 commotion, but now that I’m back and in a quiet, comfortable bedroom, I just can’t seem to fall asleep at night.”

Some Veterans don’t realize their trouble sleeping is affecting their day-to-day functioning or that their sleep problems are treatable. Symptoms of sleep deprivation and other sleep problems include:

Having a hard time falling or staying asleep
Having a hard time staying awake during the day
Feeling tired even after getting lots of sleep

Allowing your sleep problems to go unchecked may lead to accidents or make it harder to deal with stress, solve problems, or recover from sickness or injury. Sleep problems can impact your life at home and at work, as well as your relationships. In addition to feeling tired, trouble sleeping can be associated with:

Slower reaction times or bad judgment
Irritability and moodiness
Less motivation
Memory and concentration problems
Difficulty making decisions

“I used to have a drink every night to get to sleep. One day my friend dug out a week’s worth of empty liquor bottles from the trash and put them on the table for me to see. It was right then I decided to stop self-medicating to get to sleep and address the issue once and for all.”

There are several things you can do right away to improve your sleep. Try to remember to:

Keep your bedroom quiet, dark, and cool
Make your bedroom a place just for sleeping and not a place for other activities like watching television, reading, working on the computer, or listening to the radio
Create a relaxing bedtime routine
Stick to a sleep schedule, making sure you wake up close to the same time every day
Get outside and exercise daily (but not close to bedtime)
Take medications that might delay or disrupt your sleep earlier in the day
Avoid caffeine and nicotine
Avoid alcohol before bed or drinking excessive amounts of alcohol
Avoid large meals and beverages late at night

Your close friends and family may notice the effects that sleep problems are having on your quality of life. Turn to them when you are ready to look for solutions to your sleep problems. It can be helpful to share what you’re experiencing, and they may be able to provide support as you look for ways to improve your sleep.
