Can WE Live Forever?

Does anybody else in the world get the distinct feeling that the pastor's Sunday morning sermons were designed specifically for them ???  Smile,  I know this is true, and it also has to do with the Spirit convicting us-- in our bible trained hearts, and that's GOOD !  We just happen to have a well seasoned, smart, KJV Bible loving/ teaching preacher at FBC in Iron Mountain, MI.   PTL.   I have also had the fear that as Obama's  America gets worse, more violent, lawless and violent, some day many of our church leaders and pastors will be rounded up just for preaching in Jesus' name !  Is it not happening already in other parts of the world, and we just sit on our butt's  [collectively] doing nothing ?   Shame.    But NOT to be discouraged,  because we must have faith in the words and promises of our Lord,  that He will deliver on time, and only He knows that day and hour.   When I post on my humble blog, it also encourages and builds ME up, and professionals have encouraged me to write [they consider me a good writer] to also help my combat PTSD,   but spreading the Word of God and declaring the "End Times" is something much bigger than me !   I have been so blessed in my retirement years to 'give back' and help others in many special ways, as God has ordained and used me as a simple 'tool' to work His purpose, EVEN AS I AM YET A SINNER MAN, and still make so many mistakes !   I consider this a rare honor and trust, that makes me want to improve myself and grow spiritually, be a better husband, father, brother, and son of God.
I know what many of you are thinking, that this guy [me] has an easier time because the Lord has blessed me in many ways....  not being rich, but enjoying the fruits of my labor and retirement.   There was a time when I thought I would remain poor and die poor and all alone.   And I was prepared to live that lonely life...  but now I think that the Lord was only chastising me, making me more humble, and getting me ready to grab hold of the preaching ministry of sorts.  Hey,  you know how much I love to hand out good Bible Tracts and share the Gospel.
Our small country church is growing, with new younger and older people coming, and I remember how long it took me to 'get in line' and change myself, with the help of  the Holy Spirit.     Even my wife agreed with me that one new guy at church just continues to get up and refill his coffee cup 3-4 times during the service, and annoys people, IMHO.  This is not some social coffee club or AA meeting, but a church service and worship time, and the pastor puts a lot of hard work into his good sermons, so that new guy is missing so much, and he sits in the front row.   But, on the other hand, we all must be patient and loving with him.

The following:  Can we live forever,  is so concise and point on, that I had to share it.  And to think that we are that special generation that may never taste DEATH, yet we must be prepared to give up our lives if it comes down to sticking to the Lord and being Faithful to Him.  Death is nothing to fear, my friends, and we can even embrace it.  Just look at those school shootings where young students have chosen to die for Christ, instead of living for Satan.    What power and courage !

Regards,
Tom

Can We Live Forever?

Q. I’m in an ongoing debate with a friend of mine (who is a preacher) about healing. According to him, we never need to die, as we merely need to come to the realization of who we are in Christ. Once we have done that, we would be able to heal ourselves (and probably everybody around us), and would not have to die.
My question is: what do I say to him? He is very much trying to “convert” me to his beliefs. (Not that it will affect either of our eternal lives, as we’re both born again, Spirit-filled Christians.) I guess I’m just tired of the debate.

A.  The Bible says it was never intended that man should live forever in his fallen state. Adam and Eve had to be evicted from the Garden after they sinned so as not to partake of the Tree of Life until the sin problem could be solved. Psalm 90:10 says that an average man’s life span will be 70-80 years. Hebrews 9:27 says that man is appointed to die once and then face judgment. 1 Cor. 15:53 says that the mortal has to be made immortal to enter Heaven. That means His corrupt earthly body has to be discarded and replaced by an incorruptible heavenly one.
Throughout the Church Age all believers of previous generations have died even though Jesus had paid the penalty for all their sins.  Is it possible that none of them knew who they were in Christ?
The best evidence is John, the apostle Jesus loved and the only one to die of natural causes. According to tradition both the Jews and the Romans tried to kill him but were unable to do so until the Lord was finished with him.  When his work was completed, he died peacefully.
This world is transient, it’s next one that’s permanent (2 Cor. 4:18).  To be confined to this world would mean forfeiture of all the incredible blessings of the next one. This is why Paul said that to die is to gain (Phil 1:21).
There is only one generation that has been spared the dying process and that’s the one that will experience the rapture. And even then, we’ll have to be changed before we can enter Heaven (1 Cor. 15:51).

Why Does VA Strip Veterans Of Their Second Amendment Rights?
(rickwells.us) - On Monday Senator Chuck Grassley sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder asking for an explanation as to why so many Veterans are having their names added to what is effectively a no-gun list and being deprived of their Second Amendment rights...Grassley wrote, “The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is effectively a national gun ban list and placement on the list precludes the ownership and possession of firearms.” He noted that “According to the Congressional Research Service, as of June 1, 2012, 99.3% of all names reported to the NICS list’s “mental defective” category were provided by the Veterans Administration (VA) even though reporting requirements apply to all federal agencies and that percentage remained virtually unchanged as of April 2013. He notes that it is automatic in practice that a veteran who is afforded benefits has his Second Amendment rights taken away. He cites the misapplied use of a federal regulation regarding financial incompetence as being used to make improper general declarations.       http://www.rickwells.us/why-does-va-routinely-strip-veterans-of-the...
