think you will get some good pointers in the film to help understand and see that history kind of repeats itself. Bad part has been since the military has not been permitted to WIN the fight that we are required to engage..

FINALLY !   This the "Red Meat" that I love so much, friends.   It isn't colored or sloped in any way.... just the plain, bare, TRUTH !   Ha!  But how well I know that it sticks in the throat of so many 'Women's Lib Females' these days who want to bite off the man's manhood, and twist things around.   But too many macho men want to also "Lord it over their wives" to make the wives little more than servants to wait on them hand and foot.  The Bible, itself, Jesus own words just sets the matter straight, once and for all time !!   Come on, now,  the words are easy to understand, even as we are using the King James Version of the Holy Bible.   And tomorrow a few close friends and I will plan to have a good time at lunch, and I will reward a lady's daughter with a "Parallel Bible."  And that will help her bible study become much easier and more fruitful, I hope.   I love to do nice things --- for nice people.

For Military people, we say that,  "rank has it's privilege."   But that doesn't mean that a commander has to step on all the people under his command.   In fact, in a time or war, doing crap like that can get you "fragged,"  [killed].    People have been known 'to plan' for opportunities to 'cause some kind of accident to officers' who routinely mess over their troops, and that is a fact, jack.    But perhaps, in later life they see the folly of their ways and seek out Jesus Christ, and the H.S. to get Saved and Forgiven.   I am blessed to have my sins forgiven, and so very thankful.

Why not LEARN the right, proper, godly way right now, by reading the short article below ?

Warm Regards,
Tommy

Privilege and manhood

I heard a term at a recent meeting that was somewhat alarming. The example was that if a man walked through a crowded room he could go from one end to another and people would move out of his way. The man leading a panel discussion said that if a woman tried to do that, people wouldn't move out of the way. He called it an example of male privilege-blaming a lack of common courtesy by those in the room on a man who knew how to move through a crowd. It didn't set well with my spirit. In this example, someone has assigned a sociological term aimed at convincing others that their right of equality is being violated. It made me think a bit. What is God's order and what does that mean to a people?

In a fallen world, one that would deny God, those who are the deniers and the deceived are always trying to cause separation from God. They are attempting to use their intellect to pit people against people using esoteric ideas and expressions that cause confusion and division. There is a God-given order for those who believe. And, while believers are not perfect in its implementation, God's order is intrinsically balanced and, at the same time, liberty-oriented. It protects both male and female. As Galatians 3:28 says, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

Privilege, in the sense of those who use it to try to ascribe some sort of guilt or wrongdoing on people, may be better defined as a human condition of entitlement. Those who use the term are often guilty of envy, blame, and strife, wanting to assign a reason to paint an entire group of people with the same brush to justify their own prejudices-or their agenda. This way of thinking is not healthy, but then what can be healthy if it goes against God's order? A society that continuously attacks men and confuses masculinity with labels like "privilege" will eventually reduce itself to a population of base, leaderless, godless sleepwalkers controlled by the very ones who are pointing the finger of privilege. That is their agenda.

There is a Godly order. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 11:3, "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God." This is not about man-assigned privilege. It is divine order. With that comes responsibility. Ephesians 5:33 says, "Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she honors her husband." Ephesians 6:1 says, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right." Verse 6:4 says, "And you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath." You see, if the world followed God's order, it would be considered an honorable privilege to be a man. And men need to be men-as defined by God, not by men.

Simple Ways to Purify Drinking Water in Emergencies

purify water
The weather is warming up, and as such, there will be an increase in the need to stay hydrated in your outdoor adventures.  But what if your adventure is “upped” a notch, and a full-blown societal collapse occurs?  Drastic times call for exceptional measures.  Your water supply is a factor that must be accounted for at all times.  There are also times when you’ll have to fly by the seat of your pants to maintain your need for a clean water supply.  The issue is addressed in this article for when you’re out and about, not locked up in your prepper fortress with the door buttressed and the shutters closed.

Water is a Top Preparedness Priority

In normal activity (times of low stress) the average person needs about a gallon of water a day.  There will be times in an emergency situation when you must rely on sources other than pristine bottles of spring water or the storage cistern you have built in your backyard.  Although these products come highly recommend, I’m not going to focus on the Big Berkey, or the Lifestraw, or the myriad of other devices available commercially.  I’m going to stick to some basics that you can use anytime, anywhere.

The Most Simple and Least Expensive Ways to Purify Water

First off, let’s talk about boiling water.  It may seem that the basics of boiling water has been covered, but it cannot be overemphasized.  When you come upon that “virgin stream” out in the woods, understand: that virginity may not exist.  A host of different pathogens come into play from many different sources.  Some of these are as simplistic as animals urinating in the water upstream of your collection point.  Also, many streams pick up sedentary water from pools or inlets that have algae and bacteria growing in them; this water is then transported to your location.
Bring your drinking water to a rolling boil for 15 to 20 minutes before consumption.  At altitudes above one mile or 2,000 meters, you should increase the rolling time to three minutes. I have advocated in the past the 1-quart Army green plastic canteen system, simply because the canteen is extremely durable, and its pouch houses a steel canteen cup.  This canteen cup is a lifesaver, simply because you can accomplish your boiling of water in it and transfer it to the canteen when finished.  Augment the canteen system with alcohol prep pads to swab and cleanse the mouth and cap of the canteen.
Another point is turbidity of the water, and this is defined as what makes the water cloudier or darker and prevents light from penetrating through the water completely.  It also holds the factor of particulate matter, that is small particles of dirt, debris, or sediment that can make your drinking experience very uncomfortable.  A method to decrease turbidity is filtration, accomplished by cloths or handkerchiefs.  I prefer the latter because you can clean them and see how clean they actually are by the whiteness of the cloth.
Boiling is the way to go, and you can use it in combination with chemical disinfection.  Chlorine bleach (minus additives) can go a long way.  16 drops of chlorine bleach per gallon, and (therefore) 4 drops per quart of water.  This is one of the reasons the Army canteen is useful, as you have a full quart, and it is easy to disinfect according to this ratio.  The water purification tablets that are issued by the service are useful, even though the water doesn’t taste great.  For any of these (including commercial tablets…follow the manufacturer’s instructions), allow the cap on your canteen/quart drinking bottle to remain loose.  Sometimes detritus rises to the surface.  Just slough this off, and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes.  THIS IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR BOILING!
The reason for this is that many water-borne diseases like giardia and cryptosporidium tend to encyst and can survive a chemical disinfection, especially with chlorine.  Most of your one-celled creepy-crawlies will bite the big one with it, but boiling is the only surefire method when you don’t have an advanced water filtration system available.  Calcium hypochlorite (HTH, also known as “pool shock”) is another method to use.  The concentrations are different per the manufacturer, but you can reconstitute it and make a slurry with a one-liter bottle and a teaspoon of the HTH.  Then you follow the ratio for chlorine drops as provided above, keeping aware that it will deteriorate over time.
The HTH is useful because it is dry, and you can reconstitute it when you wish.  Be advised that it is hygroscopic, which means that it readily absorbs water unless it is sealed off properly.  Also, it can “off-gas” chlorine vapors, and chlorine gas is deadly when it proliferates in a closed space.  Be advised that you should seal up your supply of HTH in good, sealable buckets or containers that are airtight.  This will prevent off-gassing from occurring outward, as well as preventing any moisture from coming in and ruining your supply.
So boiling is the preferred method.  Another thing worth mentioning are your meds to counteract any illness you may receive from improperly or ineffectively treated water.  Metronidazole (Flagyl), usually available in 500 mg capsules is the medication of choice to fight Giardia (Giardia lamblia).  Be advised: you cannot take it with any kind of alcohol…to include cough syrups, as well as beverages.  You’ll be very violently ill.  You can pack in some HTH with you, or some bleach in a sturdy brown bottle with dropper.  The smaller the bottle the more manageable it is.  See your doctor for a prescription and consult with him prior to taking any actions regarding such meds.
In our next installment of this series we will examine water sources for you, and some unconventional areas to procure water that you may not know about.  Please make sure you boil it all.  It’s better to accomplish the boil and wait for it to cool down than to take the chance with illness.  Water is very important, but just as important as quenching your thirst is to do it with water that you know to be safe and potable.  Keep fighting the good fight!

Good  Day,  Friends and other Readers,

I am doing well today and even got some sun on a partially cloudy day, today.   I want to talk and write about the good things in life, please.   I am so thankful for the few REAL friends that I have, and thank the Lord, often, every day for my relationships with others.   This week is a big week for me with some nice things coming my way.   "A friend of a friend" helped me in a large way,  by securing a used refrigerator that is now in my house, so that I can now freeze things, meat, ice cubes, etc., to enhance my life.   Much thanks to Barb, Ron and Mickey !   Smile.   And it also makes me happy to give from my own reserves, wealth, riches, and also teach people what I know, especially from God's Word, the KJV Bible.   When that happens --- God blesses many !!

But,  just a fair warning today.   Bad things are happening in other countries right now, like loss of freedoms, liberty, riots and starvation !!   Sorry to rain on your parade,  but we in America have similar conditions for the same kind of "STORM !"    We are trying to wrestle with our own uber national debt, and perhaps that day is coming sooner than later,  when it could all cave in on us, too, perhaps in a couple of months.    I guess that I am even trying to stretch things/ resources too thin, personally, with investing and balancing my check book, too.    Ha!  I feel like I am doing a 'high wire balancing act in a circus.'   I am not going to tell other 'what to do' anymore, as I think all my beating on a drum has no effect on my readers or anyone else, for that matter.   Just go about your own business and don't worry about tomorrow, friends !   Everything will be OK !  Ha!   You folks go to your church and I will go to mine.

I didn't eat all day, and now it's 3:30 PM and I am getting hungry.   Just think of all the hungry children in Venezuela right now as we converse, and their parents don't have the money or food to HELP THEM !!    I am thinking that true Christians may not starve to death ---  but I think that they will grow very thin and lean...   Well, isn't that what we always wanted ??   And let me tell you all from  hard won experience that any families that are now under any kind of strain --- will break apart, when the SHTF...  sorry.   And if two people [a married couple] had trouble making ends meet before  --- splitting  up now would really be STUPID !!   And if someone has the habit of hard, excessive drinking and smoking,  they might have to make a big choice pretty soon..... duh.   I am blessed to be living in a pure, pristine area, where the Spring water is said to be very healthy !!  PTL.   They even sell it to other places $$$$ !

Well,  I will leave you with such happy thoughts....   until you read the short piece below.

Warm Regards,
Tommy

Venezuela: A Prepper’s Nightmare Come to Life

venezuelan flag
Two years ago, Venezuela was a normal functioning nation, relatively speaking of course. It was by no means a free country, but the people still had a standard of living that was higher than most developing nations. Venezuelans could still afford the basic necessities of life, and a few luxuries too.
They could send their children to school and expect them to receive a reasonably good education, and they could go to the hospital and expect to be effectively treated with the same medical standards you’d find in a developed nation. They could go to the grocery store and buy whatever they needed, and basic government services like law enforcement and infrastructure maintenance worked fairly well. The system was far from perfect, but it worked for the most part.
However, this standard of living was a mirage. Venezuela was and still is a leftist socialist nation, and the only thing propping it up was their glut of oil reserves and $100 per barrel prices. The state owned those resources, and they provided so much wealth that even Venezuela’s highly inefficient command economy could provide everything the people needed. But socialist systems do not by their nature, respond well to shock and disruptions. They’re not flexible.
As soon as the price of oil fell, the country started crumbling rapidly. The infrastructure has fallen apart, leading to rationing of both water and electricity. Inflation is out of control. Price controls have led to shortages of basic necessities. Crime is skyrocketing, and vigilante mob violence is now commonplace. All of these trends have been building over the past two years, but they have finally reached a crescendo over the last few weeks:
  • What really kicked Venezuela’s slow motion collapse into high gear, was when their inflationary currency reached an absurd new level. At the end of April, it was reported that the government couldn’t print enough money to keep up with inflation. Their cash is printed overseas, and the central bank was so short on funds that they could no longer afford to pay the manufacturers of their cash. Venezuela literally doesn’t have enough money to buy more money.
  • The government began scheduling rolling blackouts to save energy, which eventually led to riots in some areas. President Maduro ordered all 2.6 million of the nation’s public sector employees to only work 2 days a week for the duration of May, in an effort to save electricity.
  • An autocratic regime can hold onto power for a very long time, so long as their soldiers and cops are well fed and paid. That’s certainly not the case in Venezuela, where on May 5th it was reported that 6 soldiers were arrested for stealing goats, because there was no more food in their barracks.
  • As shortages of every necessity you can imagine run rampant, many Venezuelans are now so hungry that they’ve resorted to hunting down cats, dogs, and pigeons. In their desperation, many have turned to stealing from their neighbors, which often doesn’t end well in a society teetering on the brink. One mugger was caught by a mob, beaten, and set on fire before the police could show up.
  • 5000 people reportedly stormed a grocery store after they heard that the store might have a few items that couldn’t be had elsewhere. Only a handful of police officers were on the scene to control the crowd, one of who was beaten by the mob. 2 people were killed, dozens were injured, and millions of dollars in property damage was caused. And that was just worst case seen in recent weeks in the country, which has seen countless lootings of grocery stores, pharmacies, and shopping malls.
  • Venezuela’s hospitals are turning medieval due to a lack of power and supply shortages. People are dying from easily preventable diseases, and in some cases the doctors themselves are looting the hospitals and selling expensive medical equipment on the black market. Equipment we take for granted like x-ray machines and kidney dialysis machines are in disrepair, as injured patients lay on the floor in pools of their own blood, waiting to be given a bed. Children are being hurt the most from this situation. The infant mortality rate has risen from .02% in 2012 to 2% in 2015, a hundred fold increase. It is no doubt far worse a year later.
  • The Maduro regime is beginning to crack under the pressure, as the collapse of his government rapidly approaches. A state of emergency has been extended for another 60 days as the state seizes crippled factories and arrests their owners. Maduro has claimed that the US government is threatening to overthrow him at the behest of the nation’s far right. Anonymous US officials responded by saying that they believe his regime won’t last through the summer:
In Washington, the US intelligence officials told reporters they believed a crisis was imminent.
“You can hear the ice cracking. You know there’s a crisis coming. Our pressure on this isn’t going to resolve this issue,” said one official.
Another said: “This is really not the case that the US is rooting for any outcome other than there not be an economic meltdown or social violence. There are reasons for concern that over the summer as Venezuela gives importance to payments on debt over imports that these events could spiral.”
If you’re a prepper, pay close attention to what happens next. What’s playing out in Venezuela right now is the kind of worst case scenario that many of us have been preparing for in the US. It should be very informative. It just goes to show that if you live under a corrupt authoritarian government that can’t manage its resources, all it takes is a heavy ripple in the global economy to send the whole system careening over a cliff.
I wouldn’t say the US government is in nearly as bad of shape as Venezuela’s. We have corruption, waste, and a degree of tyranny, though perhaps not on the same scale. But then again, Venezuela didn’t seem to be in very bad shape a few short years ago. Under the right circumstances, any government can collapse, and our system has many of the same vulnerabilities as theirs. All that means is that it would take a larger event to cripple our nation.
If you’re curious about what that may look like, keep your eyes on Venezuela for the next few months. They’re about to become the 21st century poster child for how easy it is for socialist pseudo democratic governments to collapse, and drag their citizens along with them. And unfortunately the differences between our system and theirs aren’t that vast.
