Sodom destroyed by 'Fire from the Sky.'

Dear Friends,
It's been so many years that I heard something quoted from a man whom I thought was very smart and competent... that there are/ were "2-- Absolute Dates in History" where both the Bible and Secular History agree and can be verified, and I thought that one was at Luke, chapter 2, verse 1, having to do with Caesar Augustus, etc.  The year I heard this thing was about 1972.  Now, I cannot prove it but my Faith in God and the KJV Bible are still very much intact no matter who says what.  I have always thought that it's better to 'take a chance on God' and Bible prophesy rather than to trust goofy men.  But as time goes on so many things ARE proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, IMHO.  And if we don't 'see' proof that is concrete now -- we shall surely see things clearly in heaven.
But take my own life for example... the fact that I survived so many encounters with death and permanent maiming are not just chance, but [again] the way I see things God certainly had big plans for me to survive and help other humans get "Saved" and forgiven by the Father... thru the Son, Jesus.  Besides praising and worshipping God Almighty, helping to share the Gospel of Salvation OUGHT TO BE our prime reason for being alive!
My good wife, Lori and I attended a fine Christian church in a neighboring town this morning and heard a great, stimulating sermon by a smart, kind, respectful pastor, and I remember parts of it yet... that 'Christians are really not passive.'  If we are really true, 'born-again Christians' how on earth can we just sit around like a bump on a log and do nothing??  I normally use the illustration of a human being who might discover the cure for cancer or what ever.  What kind of man or woman would just 'sit on that cure and do mothing' when he/ she could help so many other people in the world?  Sure we all need to earn money to pay our bills but besides that --- it would seem logical and sensible to me to share the knowledge and worry about money later.  So too, knowing the truth of the Bible that something huge is coming our way in the future... or just the fact that we all die means that we all need to get "Saved" and get right with Jesus BEFORE we die!  Because once we die --- it's a whole different ball game, friends.  That chapter of our existence is over and we cannot make any decisions after our death... as everything that happens in the next life is governed by the life we are living RIGHT NOW ON PLANET EARTH!  And so I just cannot understand anyone who puts off or procrastinates in this life.

I learned a lot about investing money when I worked for PFS Investments and earned my "Securities License" which is a Federal mandated document/ exam and very hard to pass, IMHO.  The sooner a person starts investing in life -- the better!  It's all about the "Rule of 72" and dollar cost averaging, etc.  Money should be a 'slave' and work for us if we look at it the wise way, but few people in the world even know these things that people like me taught to people for free, to help them in life.  So too, we ought to be 'storing our treasures in heaven,' even though we can never EARN our way into heaven.   The 'works that we do now' do have some bearing on the after life where ever we go.   And Jesus told many parables when on earth, such as the master and his servants, etc.  So, just what are we doing with our Master's investments and interests?  Perhaps we can talk about those things some other time, or just email me:   tschuckman@aol.com

Warm Regards,
Thomas G Schuckman

Notice this quotation from Wikipedia under the heading Absolute Dates: 'Absolute dating is the process of determining an approximate computed age in archaeology and geology. Some scientists prefer the terms chronometric or calendar dating, as use of the word absolute implies an unwarranted certainty and precision. Absolute dating provides a computed numerical age in contrast with relative dating which provides only an order of events.

The date for Egypt beginning by the secular timeline is about 3200 BC, not 20,000. Regardless, this date is ascertained by man's fallible dating methods as well as the inflated dates for Egyptian kingdoms that have recently been revised. Introduction to Historical Proofs of the Bible. The Bible is essentially a religious history. Even those who wrote the Bible made it clear it was not a secular history, even though secular events are referred to. It is a book about God and his relationship with man. That cannot be proven or dis-proven logically. It is a spiritual matter. However, people and events mentioned in the Bible can be ...

It's unlikely you will find much secular history prior to the 17th century. And, none of those authors were actually there to witness the events. How writers view an event in history depends on their biases and current culture that they live in.

  9. Chronology of the Bible - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Bible
The chronology of the Bible is an elaborate system of lifespans, 'generations', and other means by which the passage of events is measured, beginning with the Genesis creation narrative.A widespread scholarly understanding is that this marks out a world cycle of 4,000 years, ending, presumably, around 164 BCE (the year of the re-dedication of the Second Temple).
