I remember the "good old days" that were pretty much care free with dreams of grandeur in High School.
I was not and still AM NOT a 'fear- monger' or 'chicken little.' But I did learn a few things the hard way in taking a chance/ gamble, trying something new or been unprepared for a 'storm.' Men don't like 'surprises' or getting caught with their pants down! We need our own cave, a bear skin and a good spear... lol. Even John the Baptist lived a rugged, very basic life as he served God-- but the Lord took care of him. But we are actually far ahead of the game in 2009, August, because we have the whole, complete BIBLE ! Love it-- or hate it, like Obama, his henchmen, and the ACLU, -----"For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews 4:12. The Bible or thoughts of it probably burn and shear their flesh! Why else would they want to destroy it, jailed Christians for just praying in Jesus' name and take it off all public buildings, etc. Yes... love it or hate it--- the BIBLE holds the true KEYS of understanding the past, present and FUTURE -- yet God prevents the proud and wicked to "see" the Truth within [1st Cor. 3:19] ... "for the wisdom of the world is foolishness with God." I know that it seems strange, paradoxically, that serious, true Christian KNOW AND UNDERSTAND what terrors are to come shortly [Luke 21:26] -- yet they are so filled with JOY, HAPPINESS, LOVE in spite of everything toppling down right now!!
I just got a letter from Sears today saying that they are changing the rules and contract across the board so that now there will be a 24% + interest CHARGE for that charge card!! I have good credit and pay my bill ON TIME-- ALL THE TIME! Yes, the Credit Card bubble has burst now too-- but this is only the tip of the ice burg. And I say, buy a few extra bags of sugar...so your wife can make the cookies for Christmas... lol. God will protect HIS servants/ followers, but the picnic baskets might only contain baloney sandwiches and onions.
If we indeed claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, would we not want to share this TREASURE of God's Word with others/ everyone with a hearing ear?? That is what I am doing right now-- and every time I step out of the back door, where ever I go-- as much as my crippled body will endure. Who knows when the Lord will visit us or take us up to Paradise?
And one of these days when you don't see my post anymore-- it might be because the God of the BIBLE has come back to take care of this old Soldier-- I pray.

Hey Tom,
I watched a movie about the Vietnam War and I was reminded of you. It is called Rescue Dawn. It was amazing to watch. So I just want to say thank you for serving our country.

I guess we don't agree on the political scene. I was a Respiratory Therapist before I retired three years ago. I really did enjoy my job, it was so rewarding. Part of it was telling people the options they had for care. Now being called a death something or other, so wrong. It was information that helped people relax and live a good long life. The only thing in the health bill is that they want only doctors to have the meeting and they want them to get paid for it. Sometimes it takes hours to answer all the questions and find all the information. But still, I can't help but thank you for helping me live free. It's a wonderful gift you gave. I knew an open door gunner back then, now he's on the wall. I saw in our paper today that we're having a welcome home celebration in May for all the Viet Nam vets. So do you think it's too little too late, or a great idea.
Have your wife get some of those breathing strips in humid weather, they will help with breathing.
