A good Christian friend named Brenda and others put together a new Christian web site on FB -[FaceBook] for the serious people who want to know the truth about the Bible and what it says about different, various 'religions' of today and how they fit into God's great Plan for all of us, and here is an open invitation for those who are searching for the real facts on whether one's religion is true or false.  There are 'house rules' to maintain order, civility, and Bible Truth vs:  personal opinions and  mistaken traditions and beliefs.  And yes-- there is a BIG difference between the two!    

There's no coincidence that things are growing from bad to worse around the world right now with more suffering, misinformation, greed and violence than can fit on a one hour 'Lame-Stream Media' sound byte.   Even a rat knows when to 'jump ship' when it's sinking-- but the majority of willfully ignorant mankind just want to follow some lying dog pile "leader/ messiah" rather than face the cold hard, stark reality of what the Bible accurately says MUST COME TRUE... and soon!

Death By Doctor: 3rd Leading Cause of Death in the US

I love to brag about my friends-- and about my God in heaven, the God of the Bible, rather than brag about 'Old Soldier Tom,' and his broken down body. 
    The short medical video I posted right above may seem radical enough-- so maybe I am a radical...anyway I feel like one.. lol.  I found  out from my barber that he and I are terrorists-- because we are both Christians, Veterans, Conservatives, staunch proponents of the US Constitution, especially the 1st and 2nd Amendments, and we BOTH worked hard and paid our taxes all our lives!!  Ha!  If that doesn't make us terrorists, according to Homeland Security and the WH-- I don't know what will! 

Setting the 'Good Book' down for a while-- everything is a 'game' and we best learn the game so as not to 'rock the boat' or go against the herd mentality/ status quo, or the 'politically correct,' right?  Well,  aside from conforming to the Army and life long hard work ethic-- I am a radical, a terrorist, maverick and black sheep.  One hundred years and back, reading/ studying the Bible was good-- but now it's bad, according to the 'NEW morality' of anything goes.  People just don't want to be accountable for their actions, and so they have banned/ removed  the Bible and God out of their public and private lives, thinking that God cannot see or affect them.

But I am afraid that kind of thinking WILL catch up with them by either accidents, old age, Socialist Laws, greed, ungodly living, etc.  Do you feel that the best of your years, hard work, investments, plans, etc., have all slipped away-- to where right now you don't have many options left on earth??  The above short video points out that we-- Americans-- don't even have the best medical/ health system among the top industrialized nations! And for as much as we pay-- that is:  about 51% of us pay, who really have a job and pay TAXES in the USA-- and the rest just live off that-- soon to be minority.  At least Glenn Beck taught us that much truth --to know that half of our people/ Gov't and WH want it that way so as to collapse our system--leading to Socialism- after total failure and maybe total collapse!  See: Cloward and Piven  101.

But the Lord is never tardy or late, and His Word infallible and totally correct!  Here comes the Son.

One fav. verse that is making it's way thru the FB  [FaceBook] lately is:  Galatians 4:16,  "Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?"  ~KJV.

I sure had a wild week with all the "excitement", adventure, almost got myself killed again, etc.  Makes me want to step back and count my blessings, and also check out my body and mind... duh!!  Probably the LAST 'wake-up call' I will be getting...  
 The friends at church were happy to see me today, and walking on just my two canes --with my truck and scooter in the shop, and I think I am getting a bit better-- with Sept 14th being the 3rd month mark of knee surgery.  At my age of 62, I am seeing too many of my close friends struggling with their own challenges of poor health,  heart disease, poor lungs, cancer, arthritis, surgery, and having a decent job -- or not, etc.   Actually, do you even know anyone now days who is just bursting with joy and happiness lately???
     Personally,  I am fearful of seeing any more of my close friends die, but will know well how to treat it next time, and their families.  
     After turning my house upside down looking for the other truck key and not finding it, a friend said he would take me to Kenosha, WI., in the morning to pick up my truck while the shop is waiting 3 weeks for the parts to repair it [from Lansing, MI]--- to do my business, and I am thinking that IF they can't get me into my truck I might just break the rear side glass window and then have them repair it!   Any suggestions quick??  At the end of this Blog post, you need to hunt around at the bottom for the word: COMMENTS, and click on that to bring up a dialogue box with which to type in your comment, and then just 'send it.' --please.  This also a nice way of making friends with the Blogger-- ME!  I LIKE PEOPLE, and love to help them, if I can!  
    I was fasting the past 3 days after having the runs so bad all last week, and even the Imodium AD pills were not working so well-- so I just took away the "fuel from the fire" after having too many 'close calls.'  Had to quit my fresh fruit and water diet for a while-- 'too much of one good thing' -- Ha!  I started getting too dizzy for lack of real nutrition, IMHO, and ordered a small pizza, meat ball bomber and an Italian Beef sandwich, but after I took one bite the food was SO SALTY that I put it down-- but also seemed to feel full !  I hardly EVER even touch the salt when I go out or eat, or at home, since my youngest, nicest  daughter, Sarah, who at least leans toward the Christian teachings of the Bible -- got me on a natural diet that worked.   PTL.  I guess I will have to start cooking again for myself... 'Old Soldier Tom.'  But then you need to be more careful of taking your meds on an empty stomach and the side effects-- and that is why I was moving into the morning toast with honey and cinnamon on it to help 'cushion' the pills/ meds.
    Well, readers, I think that Irene has spent herself pretty much except for more rain and floods, so now what??   How about another earthquake in D.C...LOL ?  I am done seeing that Liberal meat market for ever, having been there 4 times.  I am excited about September and October with more BIG 'surprises...' especially from the Middle East and Israel... and I expect our economy  [USA]to get much worse here too.

Well, folks,  I think I am finally snapping out of the dol drums-- the Dog Days of Summer-- the 'Summer time Blues' to where I've got my Mo-Jo back again, I pray.
I think I tried to explain this long ago... that I have my own regimen of how to 'keep my focus' -- until something traumatic jolts/ derails  me out of my positive engagement with the Holy Spirit, and the Lord Jesus.   Then I feel panic-y and lost-- searching for my "Power."  Too much negative destructive power makes me so depressed to where I don't want to live anymore-- until I find my way back to my norm/ peace/ security/ calm.  Some of my friends and Mom want to/ try to help me because they love and respect me, but it takes a special kind of person to get me back in line-- all hooked up to my "battery charger."  Many close friends tell me that I was on 'over load' and have too much stress to bare, including combat PTSD [Post Traumatic Stress Disorder].  The devil is so busy right now, and using every trick in his bag rag to snatch us away from our Lord and Savior!!!  But I know that the buck stops HERE-- with me!!  I take full responsibility for all of my actions-- good and bad. 

What spooks me is when I 'THINK' I am doing everything by the Book, but still fall down flat on my face, or just "free fall" going into  a 'crash and burn' scenario that ends up very ugly-- deep depression--even death, in the extreme-- and SUICIDE WILL BE OH SO COMMON in the near future, dear brothers and sisters, with the world falling down all around us, losing our homes, jobs, cars, dignity!!   I have seen this happen to many other guys in the past. 
 As you will learn in the special article below, "JESUS IS LORD,"  that was what it took to jerk me back 'on-line.'

I am hurting pretty bad today, finding it hard to 'sit' down for long, and has to do with my 'plumbing.'  I have many resources, but this bout lasted a whole week and now I am sore.. BIG TIME!  Someone came over to help me clean the house today and she also gave me some kind, true words of wisdom.  I like to think that she has more Christian knowledge and bible training then most other folks, even though the others attend church regularly!!  And that's the way I think it will be/ end at the Rapture-- with people being left behind because they never really got to KNOW the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior, but instead put on a show at church... frauds, fakes, plastic, con artists--with just as many false teachers/ preachers, false Messiahs and greedy pastors milking the church for more money, etc. 
And the same goes for certain candidates who run for office with the "Christian in name only" [CHINO] mantle on their shoulders-- but I will let YOU FOLKS figure that one out for yourselves.  And that is another waste of our important commodity: TIME!  It's a pity when  I hear so many so-called 'Christians' reply when I ask them what their main priority ought to be in August 20011 !

The  Kenosha, WI., Pulera Collision Center - shop said that they have rigged my truck so that I can drive it for the next 2-3 weeks --that it will take to get the parts in from Michigan..Ha!  Now if only I can find the other key....

BTW,  How many of us still honestly think that the earthquake and coming hurricane are just a freak of nature.... duh?  Didn't I just beat the drums for a book I bought and read a few months ago, about just this sort of  thing happening to America-- and especially with the current clown in the WH??  --Had to do with Genesis 12:3. --  "As America has done to Israel."  -A-ha!  I remembered-- thank you, Lord. Actually, i want to stress that the Prez [IMO] is not just making poor judgements for our countries well fare-- but he and the Left side of Congress are WILLFULLY destroying our country!!!  Do your home work!  It didn't take me long to figure him out...  sorry friends. 
Some of my friends tell me that I am getting so wrapped up in the 'End Times' that I am making myself sick-- and maybe they are right...   Thank you for all of your collective prayers, and also for my new grand child, Grace Andi, my nephew Joseph Erwin- in combat-Army, friends, Robby Bohnen and Diane, Marvin Ray Ellis, Steve Brulport, my Mom, Betty Schuckman, Pastor George Schlagel, and Bob and Bea Melby, etc, etc.

NOW,  the object of this lesson is to demonstrate what poor old Christians have been saying all this time.    There will be so much going on in the 'End Times' [right now] with BS [berry sap] wars, earthquakes,  rebellions, hurricanes, etc., then Obama will SNEAK the money thru to help the AWOL Mexicans ILLEGALLY in this country, that other 'National Treasures' will get pushed aside,  like the Veterans, older, disabled people who have already worked all their lives, Paid in, served in the military, etc, etc.!!   Do you all like to be constantly lied to??  "Watch the OTHER hand"-- of the devil in the WH-- and the Congress too, and see THRU the lies and promises!!!

Of that $28.8 million, “approximately $8.5 million will be used by 25 New Access Point awardees to target services to migrant and seasonal farm workers,” Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Spokeswoman Judy Andrews told CNSNews.com. HRSA is a part of HHS.


Andrews said that grant recipients will not check the immigration status of people seeking services.



When the President said that no money in Obamacare would go to illegals, Joe Wilson shouted out, YOU LIE. He got lots of

criticism for doing that, not respecting the President and all, but you know what, HE WAS RIGHT1



This is one of those reasons I was talking about with this guy, we have our VA's laying off people and cutting back on services because lack of money and Vets with no jobs, homes and food, folks who have worked and paid into SSI and being told there won't be any more funding but we can pay 100% for illegals for health care food, schooling and any other thing they can get...... I do not blame them for wanting to be hear because it is the Best Country in the World but let them pay their way and take care of home first. What keeps me going is the fact that their will be a new begging  [???] coming soon and I will be there!!

Tell me something good.....

Lately, When I talk to anyone about Israel, they shun me, or think I am a 2 headed creature from another planet... lol. I say that Israel is the center of the world! Zechariah 12:3, says, "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be shall be cut to pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Verse 2: 'a cup of trembling..' It doesn't sound like 'Happy Days' in Milwaukee to me.... duh. I like and respect Joe Wilson!! Good thing we got guys like YOU to pass along his legacy. But America will only wake up AFTER we are half way down the tube..... just my humble opinion, bro.

Please pray for my close friend, Steve Brulport, who had a few 4 by 4 ACT mishaps a few days ago and severely bruised his back-- upsetting their plans to drive back to the deep South... he is 'Old Navy' and dear to me, and I consider him a Vietnam Veteran-- just like the rest of our BLUE WATER NAVY DURING THE VIETNAM WAR! Here are the many answers to many important things that we OUGHT to know right now--- concerning Matthew 24:5.. and verse 11 too.  "For many shall comeinmy name, saying, I am Christ;  and shall deceive many."  And verse 11:  "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."   Verse 14:  "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all the nations;  and then shall the end come."  I wish you all had a fine Large Print Old Scofield Study system KJV  [KING JAMES VERSION] Bible with all the handy foot notes and help columns --so that you could easily dive into any subject in the mind-- God's own  pure precious Word!  I figure it's worth all the smokes [tobacco] and fine Bourbon  in the world, and then some... lol!!  And I keep beating the drum that another version is also very good for the new Christian who has trouble with the older Shakespearean 1611 version:  biblefortoday.org   
And for all of my fine friends who are just happy and content with their NIV's and other translations--  at least you are studying A bible that you feel comfortable with, and learning from it !!  Good for you, too.  I have changed my bad habit of dumping on the newer bible translations, if it hurts feelings and stumbles people...   so sorry, folks, for my many errors in the past.  I need your forgiveness too, please.
    Well, by now some of you have heard that I had a bad traffic accident yesterday in my beloved truck, but no one was injured-- except that I am very stiff and hurting today with a little whip lash, etc... I had my seat belt on, that saved me from serious injury, PTL!  I am still trying to figure out just what happened that I got in that crash, and so ashamed and humiliated!!  My nose is plugged up because of poor sleeping and allergies, and it was raining cats and dogs yesterday morning when it all happened.
    And I thought I was even making some progress with my knees, but without that seat belt-- I could have messed them all up for more surgery again!  Please, Lord, not that again!  But I drive a tank, partly for that reason of safety.  Should I be praising the Lord for preventing serious injury [and if I would have hit the other SUV on the driver's side-- he would have been dead on impact, the way I caved that vehicle in-- T-boned !!] --- or cursing myself for being such a stupid, ignorant, jack ass ???  Or does God have to take such drastic steps in humbling me, right before the 'End ?'   Anyway, I plan to have a complete physical very soon.

Glenn Beck and David Barton are in Israel for the “Restoring Courage” rally. Topic One: Brannon plays an audio of Barton saying Beck is a Christian even though Beck admits he is a Mormon. Topic Two: In Israel, Beck introduces Barton as a Christian that has accepted him and his chosen path of Mormonism. Topic Three: In Israel Beck speaks of the need to know God and see His face. Beck says we are entering the age of miracles of God. What god; the Mormon god? Topic Four: Barton speaks at the rally in Israel and speaks of the God they are worshipping at the event. Would that be the Mormon god or the God of the Bible? The problem is that Barton and Beck both are talking about God but Mormons and Christians do not worship the same God. Barton also speaks about the Jews giving birth to a monotheistic religion which is a bit odd to bring up since his friend Beck is a Mormon and Mormons are polytheistic and thus believe in millions of gods. Topic Four: Ann Coulter says the left is crazy for being worried about Rick Perry and his New Religious Right friends that promote dominion theology. Are we to believe that Ann is a fan of the New Apostolic Reformation and Word of Faith movement or is she just clueless?

I don't have to be told twice about this great remedy!  Intend to stock up tomorrow right after I get a hair cut in the big city, and buy some Wood Betony too.   Why let the 'doctors' and Big Pharma rip us off when this home remedy will do better for less, and no side effects?   And that will also solve my "breakfast concern" too, that I've been lacking.  Just a piece of toast with Cinnamon and pure, raw, un-pasteurized honey on it.  
It's good to take a break for all the dooms day, doom and gloom baloney on the news every single day!  Why not post something that is beneficial to my fellow man and put a smile on their faces?  And wouldn't you know that most of my friends with gardens are bringing their great tomatoes over to my humble hovel when I have an attack of diarrhea... hummm.  Looks like struggle and hunker down is the name of the game now days before payday on the 1st of the month. 
I am not complaining, just need more discipline and applying my own words of council. 
  I was so tired today that I went to bed about 7PM, but got up a few times.  I took some Imodium AD, and that kind of stopped my loose plumbing, but I am also going on a short FAST-- so there will be nothing "to get up about.."
   I would also ask my friends and readers to pray for me-- that I can develop more SELF-CONTROL.   I found myself getting too irritated and losing my temper today, and took it as another red flag to do more heavy lifting and study in that area.  Sometimes I actually scare myself that something slips out of my mouth so fast before  I can stop it!  I know that most experts will say a lot of that problem is linked to combat PTSD, but I need to STAY accountable and not fix blame on others or what ever.  Lord, please help me in this area.  I got suckered into a situation today involving a person studying with Jehovah's Witnesses, and he never even wanted to "discuss"the bible or be reasonable.  I will never allow myself to get trapped and cornered by some sick person setting me up for a kill and humiliation as today!  It was a good lesson for me though, and I learned from it.  Sick women can be so destructive in ringing the "alarm" --asking a man to come over to talk with some goof ball who has no intention of being civil or reasonable!!!  Shame on me-- but at least I learned a lot from my mistake today.  The devil was in this 'planted trap' all the time-- from the get- go, and I walked right into it.

Cinnamon and Honey

Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar. In reality honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather call "crystallizing".



When this happens I loosen the lid, boil some water, and sit the honey container in the hot water, turn off the heat and let it liquefy. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey.

ARTHRITIS:
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.


BLADDER INFECTIONS :
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.
CHOLESTEROL :
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough , cold, and clear the sinuses.

UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.
GAS :
According to the studies done in India and Japan , it is revealed that if Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.
IMMUNE SYSTEM:

I think this is the first time I've ever read or posted anything by Perry Stone Ministries, but I am very impressed how this man of God is so correct and right on target-- that it's almost uncanny/ scary !  Since I don't think the Link came though effectively,  I hope you readers will somehow hunt and latch onto these quality videos/ tools  that I borrowed from a friend at FB, for teaching and sharing!

Having gotten in a deep discussion with a close friend of mine, yesterday,  who have been there for me while I was hurt and laid up in surgery just 3 months ago, I found out that I was RUSTY, and determined to hit the books again so that I could teach and share this important subject of the Rapture more effectively!  Actually, I have never felt comfortable about any subject unless I knew it so well that I COULD teach it to others!  And of course, the Rapture is so timely and peculiar to all living on earth RIGHT NOW!!  If we miss that  "plane" to heaven, chances are there will NOT be a second chance, and we DON'T want to be "Left Behind !"  Author and preacher, Perry Stone has the skill to bring this all to life.. PTL.
    And just as Matthew 24 predicts, right now we have so many false Christ's out there misleading so many.  As I told a friend on the phone today, [S.B.], some [actually many] misled people out in the world just think that they can straddle the fence until the last minute and jump off onto God's side at the very end...Ha! Wrong!  You need to have that all important Bible knowledge NOW-- TODAY, to make the correct choice where to be, and cultivate the absolute love for Christ now.  The devil is having a field day in misleading the entire inhabited world right now, and although we believe MILLIONS will be raptured up-- that number is dwarfed  by the Billions who will be left behind and most of them going to hell....  sorry, friends.

Yes, I'd say that it's about time the VAMC got their act together in treating women at the various VA Health/ Medical Care facilities in the good old USA!  Of course they always had the lame excuse of 'hard times' and less money to 'take care of the Veterans coming home... duh'  But why is it that the Gov't has plenty of cash to help ILLEGAL ALIENS, and all of our enemies in foreign lands with food and money-- but hardly any money left for our OWN Veterans ???   Is that "hope and change" working for you all yet?   Are you happy and satisfied now days?  Hold on-- because the best is yet to come... lol.   "You ain't seen nothin' yet [sic] !!"  The time is right-- the time is ripe, and I am looking at October to have some great wake up calls.  What's wrong with you guys-- don't you like adventure... LOL?   Personally, I am stocking up on Hormel Hot Tamales- Spicy.  And I just got the hound dog's toe nails clipped again, for $15.

My take on things is:  If you've got the money get your gear repaired and make the purchase NOW, while you US Currency still has some 'buying power,' friends.  Develop a reliable system, circle of trusted friends you can depend on and pool all your savvy and resources, like helping each other out with your diverse work skills and barter.  I did this many years ago, in trading my carpentry skills for ........!  And study/ or start a home Bible study session once a week with 2 or 3 other families, and then offer some coffee and treats/ fruit, if you can afford it, afterwards.

Have a great day because the Summer is almost gone, and the nice cool air fills the night!

Please pray for my young nephew, Joseph Erwin- US Army,  over in the 'Sand Box' --Iraq.  My own personal opinion, is that Mr. Obama is sacrificing our soldiers in Afghanistan, while the greedy bum in charge of that country, Hamid Karcid [sp?], is consorting with the Taliban and stashing OUR treasure in diverse bank accounts--- and Pakistan is consorting with Communist China too, and aiding the enemies in the hills, etc!  Can we really afford all this back stabbing and treachery  when we are going down economically???

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The "show and tell" table at this gathering of doctors featured contraceptive sponges and female condoms. Life-size rubber pelvises and female breasts covered several other tables at the back of a windowless convention center ballroom. The lectures focused on topics like how to help a rape victim feel comfortable in an exam room.



Not unusual for a doctors' meeting, but these were doctors and nurse practitioners with the Veterans Affairs Department, a cohort of medical professionals who in the past might have gone years without seeing a female patient. But avoiding topics like gynecology and breast exams is no longer possible because of an influx of thousands of female veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan into the VA's system of hospitals and clinics.



Used to treating the men who served in Vietnam or World War II, many of the VA's practitioners are rusty on skills like performing pelvic exams on women and talking about birth control. Some are downright nervous over treating women.
The result has been very limited availability at some VA clinics for gender-specific health appointments for women. Female veterans often had to drive hours to get to another facility, or the VA had to pick up the tab for them to go to a nearby private doctor — if they opted to go at all.



The VA is working toward having a trained, designated women's provider in every facility. So far, officials have achieved the goal in its approximately 150 medical centers and in at least 60 to 65 percent of its 900 community-based clinics, according to the VA.



The VA has been bringing doctors and nurse practitioners by the hundreds to mini-residency programs like this one outside Orlando, Fla., focused on women's health. A key component of the training is performing pelvic exams on live models — typically volunteer nurses — who critique them.



"What we heard time and time again from providers that have been there so long is, 'I have forgotten since medical school how to do a lot of the women's specific care,'" said Dr. Robert Dorr, chief of staff at the VA medical center in Saginaw, Mich. Providers who will be treating women in smaller VA clinics in Northern Michigan went with him to the seminar in Kissimmee.



"There was anxiety," Dorr said. "There was a lot of nervousness. There was even some fear: 'Would I be able to take care of a female appropriately?'"



In addition to exams on live models, the providers practiced breast and pelvis exams on large, lifelike rubber simulators with abnormalities that doctors need to be familiar with.



One topic was care for patients who have been sexually assaulted. An estimated 22 percent of female users experienced what the VA calls "military sexual trauma," meaning they endured unwanted sexual harassment, assault or rape in a military setting. The providers learn tips like washing their hands in front of a patient to help ease the patient's comfort level, and to always have a chaperone during a pelvic exam. They also learn about what the women might have experienced in combat.



Women have been heavily involved in the fight in Iraq and Afghanistan in roles such as medics, truck drivers, pilots and military police officers, even though military policies prohibit women from serving in many combat positions. About 15 percent of the military is comprised of women, compared with 11 percent in the 1991 Persian Gulf War and 3 percent in the Vietnam War.



After the 2001 start of the war in Afghanistan and the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, female veterans began coming in large numbers to VA hospitals and clinics. Most of the women from the recent conflicts were under age 40.



They frequently found facilities without private changing areas or women's clinics, staff members who did not believe they'd been in combat, and doctors unfamiliar with their health needs. In 2009, the Government Accountability Office said the VA wasn't doing enough to ensure female patients had complete privacy, noting that it had found in some facilities gynecological exam tables facing the door.



The VA began the mini-residency program in women's health in 2008 and 1,100 providers have now completed it. The agency has also added more women's clinics with separate waiting areas within its facilities and made other improvements, such as creating private areas for women to change and bathe. Recently, VA Secretary Eric Shinseki announced that pilot childcare centers were being rolled out in Northport and Buffalo, N.Y., and Tacoma, Wash.



Joy Ilem, deputy national legislative director at Disabled American Veterans, said the VA is headed in the right direction in providing care for women but has yet to implement all the changes needed system-wide. She said having providers trained in women's health is probably the most critical of all improvements that are needed.



"They've made progress and they should keep going and finish it," Ilem said.



Once VA officials started more closely tracking women's issues, they discovered that older women were seeking VA care as well. More than half of the VA's female patient population is 45 or older, said Dr. Patty Hayes, the VA's chief consultant for women's health. As the economy has worsened and as word has spread about the improved quality of care for women, some of the older women are walking into VA facilities for the first time. The VA has responded by educating providers on menopause and heart disease as well as issues faced by younger women.
"It's not that the women aren't there. It's that we didn't invest soon enough in having women's health providers," Hayes said

Hayes said that today about 22 percent of men eligible for VA health care use it, compared with 16 percent of eligible women, up from 10 percent before the changes were implemented.

Before leaving the mini-residency programs, which typically last a few days, the providers are asked to identify one thing they want to change at their home hospital or clinic to improve care for women. Some of the things changed from early workshops include the purchase of gynecological tables and the acquisition of a rapid test for gynecological infections, said Dr. Laure Veet, director of women's health education in the VA's Women Veterans Health Strategic Care Group.



Dr. Aimee Sanders, a physician with the VA in Columbus, Ohio, who was one of the facilitators at the recent mini-residency session, recalled going into the Ohio facility where she now works when she was a medical student about a decade ago. Back then, she found it "not a female-friendly place." Today, she is one of a few doctors who work in a separate women's clinic within the facility, providing comprehensive care for women. She treats only women, with patients ages 19 to 91.

The female vets who walk in the door say they would've come in sooner if they'd known how nice it was, Sanders said.
"Demand is much greater than the supply of physicians that we have," she said.

Walking in the Light but still Sinning.

Some of the 'tags' and other supporting related articles below the main topic/ body give additional foresight and wisdom to me-- further defining the ideas with 'sub-titles/ divisions'-- that I personally feel are helpful.  "Only Saved if we keep confessing,"is the one that I read to help me understand the main item better.

Some of you smart guys and gals out there reading this prob know that it wouldn't take much to rip out my PC - mouse and take it to the PC store to replace it-- Gateway model, as mine is just bout kaput and I have to click on it harder until it 'catches'... lol.  Just put it on my list of chores "to-do" after I run to the Milwaukee VA tomorrow-- to affect my statement/ request of transfer to Great Lakes Naval Station in N. Chicago.  I just hope that I am doing the right thing.   And then, I just ordered a new book by John Bunyan...Pilgrim something, mentioned by the pastor this morning as being a close 2nd best seller through the ages, written back in the 1600's.  Reading outside on the picnic table in the back yard is such a good habit in the Summer time, before the flies and mosquitoes come to wreck my serenity, peace and quiet.  I always used to figure that I needed to get as much sunshine/ vitamin D as possible to last me the whole Winter season in Wisconsin.  

Does anyone else reading this post feel a sort of uneasiness, electricity in the air as if the "other shoe will drop" or is the devil and 'lame-media' succeeding in scaring us half to death with all their foreboding doomsday tactics including major international economic melt down...?  I am not trying to make more bills-- but a year ago, I was reading about the same problems in Russia, where the people feared their currency was losing it's buying power/ value-- and so they started  "investing" in "durable hardware and goods" like quality autos, refrigerators, etc. while they still could.  Well, we are already feeling some inflation and higher interest rates now.  We just might get skinny soon and be in fashion, and better health... lol.  "Back on the Diet again!!"  OK, shop for more fruit again-- put that on the list, and my power scooter battery  is charging as I speak/ type. Without my mobility, I would really be in a pickle! 

I ask prayers for me when I get lonely for some companionship, even just to talk and enjoy a lunch or dinner.  "Lord, please help me find other useful alternatives, like reading, studying, exercise, training my gentle, cheerful Rottweiler boy, etc., getting back into my woodcarving and woodworking in the basement- wood shop, helping others in need and cheering them up with the Gospel, and my personal Christian ministry of handing out Bible Tracts and Bibles.  In Jesus name. Amen."

Walking In The Light But Still Sinning


Q. 1 John 1:5-10 seems to contradict itself. At one point it talks about walking in the light and if we say we have fellowship with Him but walk in the darkness we are liars then it says if we have no sin we are deceiving ourselves, what do these verses mean?

A. When John spoke of walking in the light he meant being born again. Jesus is the light of the world and when we’re walking with Him we’re walking in the light (1 John 1:5-7). If we say we’re walking with Him but aren’t born again the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8).



Even if we’re walking with Him we still sin. Therefore if we confess our sins He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and will purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). If we try to say we haven’t sinned we make Him out to be a liar (1 John 1:10) because in effect we’re saying He claimed to have died for sins we didn’t commit.



By the way, this is not a confession to renew our salvation. It was guaranteed to us the moment we first believed (Ephes. 1:13-14). This confession purifies us again from the unrighteousness caused by our sin and puts us back into a state of fellowship with God.

I am always in the  mood for a juicy good book to read, as I have always had the ability to just "climb on inside of the author's head and into the book itself--with my vivid imagination !!"  I don't think the rest of my siblings did have those same inclinations, but they had other bright abilities in their lives-- like making and salting down money and possessions.  I know that there are many out there reading this Blog that will appreciate some of the products I am posting-- and what really knocks my socks off one of the clips that says:  'and after the Church is taken up to heaven-- others on earth 'Left Behind" - loved ones, will NEED this sort of help/ resource, book !!'   Wow!

What a fine, productive day I had with the dog getting my  body out of bed to let him outside in the back door [and he is so well trained that he knows well to stay in the confines of the  un-fenced back yard] -- and I sensed some urgency on Deuce's "speaking" to me...and jamming his cold wet nose onto my hanging right arm out of bed.  

Then the cleaning lady came over and did a great job with my old house, and it was so nice to be able to visit with another human being on my own level-- and she speaks German.  Then I had a commitment with old Bobby Melby for lunch at a local restaurant in town, and I am proud of myself for only having the one portion on my plate-- even though I ordered 'FISH, all you can eat!!'   And then I drove to the Casual Male store, in a huge shopping Strip Mall near IL... and spent $250 on Fall clothes for myself.  I figure that when my under shorts are so thread bare that I can READ THROUGH THEM, it's time to buy a few more, plus socks, T-shirts, etc., too.  Still, I consider that a lot of money!!  Actually, I am thinking about Winter right now--projecting ahead. 

And now it's about 3 PM and ready for the news on TV-- Ha! -- which way is the Stock Market heading today?  In the back of my head I am expecting a total melt down soon-- and therefore buying up last minute items that I feel I need BEFORE hyper -inflation makes my American dollars about worthless... but I just have to STOP my spending, today!  I figure that I ought to take care off and tie off every area/ aspect, corner of life and planning-- but in the long run-- we ought to be following Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart..."  Time to kick back with a cold soda pop and let some of my care slip away.  Take care, dear friends, and brothers/ sisters in the Lord.

Just one quote from Charles Spurgeon to whet your appetite: "I beg you to conceive of yourselves as being in Heaven.  You would say, 'What! Are these streets of gold? Are these walls of jasper?
