Naval Buildup in Persian Gulf.

Tom's Journal. http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/ tschuckman@aol.com

Some things have been happening to me recently that made me think of things differently, with more confidence and insight.  I have downloaded some good 'tools' from a friend of mine that will help me MEMORIZE more information [I hope and pray] Scriptures, and maybe some poems, etc.  I have also decided to just quit drinking hard liquor-- for good, and that is a done deal.  I may have a glass of wine with my meal sometimes, but I don't have a craving for that stuff too much anymore either.  I just don't get anything out of that combined "dog water" anymore...  sorry.  I figure that I probably lost too many brain cells already with all of the prescribed VA medications through the years, as I aged 63, and I feel too old for my years.

Some churches still teach that the wine that Jesus turned from water in his first miracle was really water, and that Saved Christians ought not partake of the blood of the grape, etc.,  but I disagree!!  Many times that is just the 'Legalism' of the main pastor/ preacher, and his personal OPINION, rather than straight KJV Scripture, and what a sad folly -- putting something extra in the Bible [which is forbidden!].  The Bible condemns DRUNKENNESS... NOT reasonable, modest drinking of spirits!  I just felt that drinking hard booze was wrong for ME!  No big deal.  I just wanted to nip something in the bud, to take away a possible objection and prove a point, etc...Ha!  I feel better for it all, anyway... end of story.

It's just like Chrysler Corp., in Kenosha, WI., trying to pull a fast one on a few dozen good, hard, workers who developed a deadly HP pneumonia, many of whom died.  The company pulled every trick in the book denying the workers their rights and pay, and beneficiaries' right to compensation.  The company insisted, IMHO, that many of the workers smoked, although we shall never know who quit smoking the cigarettes, but that is another story that might never get told -- prob because we won't be around much longer to tell it...  So, I am saying that  you MUST cover your anatomy all the time and guard yourselves, friends and readers.  You also have to save ALL your past taxes-- in case you step on some Gov't toes [like I do with my Blog posts..] and all of a sudden they want to check your tax returns to get back at you,  unless your last name starts with O.

I just need to say that I can forget many things in the world, but lying is NOT one of them.   How can you ever trust a person again after they have lied to you???  I had a few cop buddies who taught me how to figure out when a person is lying.  'When ever a person is slow to answer a question, stalls for time, changes the subject and hesitates -- they are usually lying or stretching the truth.'   And my own life's experiences in having 3 wonderful children have also taught me that.   Now days, I think that lying is the norm!   Pity... Shame... and the Bible has a lot to say about lying, or course.   And then, whom of us has not lied at one time or another ??  Those sins and other personality flaws can be made straight, conquered, stopped for good -- IF YOU LEARN TO KNOW AND LOVE THE JESUS WHO DIED FOR ALL THE WORLD -- I hope you all know.

Now,  I am not pointing or preaching about this particular sin -- even though I have personally never had much problem with lying -- but we all have SOME problems to work on, and need to keep that in mind, lest we get mired up with PRIDE!  I recently joined a special 'Prayer Group' at the church we attend that addressed the challenges and problems that some folks face, and need help with-- who want to quit something nagging them in their life, and it's all about knowing and learning more about our Lord Jesus Christ, and appreciating Him so much and loving Him, so that you never want to repeat an addiction that you might have, weather it be smoking, drinking, cussing, being nasty and unloving, drugs, the 'works of the flesh, mentioned right before Galatians 5:22, etc, etc.  They have a high success rate!  Woo Woo!  Last night we were learning a lot about the human brain, and I have made some good friends there already!  Yes!  So... t here may be a few  young, prideful punks there making wise cracks... but who knows if they are really serious about the program -- but we must be nice and cordial to each other, and we don't know "how many miles the other guys have walked in his shoes."   And then it's all confidential, of course.  We are ALL challenged by things rolling down a hill -- but it's what we DO about it that God sees.  Just like a trained Soldier, we need to know about these aggressive evils lurking all over the place and how dangerous some of them really are!   I only WISH that I would have had something like this many years ago......shoot!

Massive Naval Buildup in Persian Gulf as Israel Moves Closer to War

Western powers and several of their Middle East allies have deployed an enormous naval fleet to the Persian Gulf just days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again suggested that his country may soon launch a preemptive strike against Iran's nuclear facilities.
USS Dexrous and USS Sentry

US, Allies Set to Launch Anti-mine Naval Exercises in Persian Gulf

The fleet includes ships from 25 nations, include three full US carrier groups, each one with a compliment of more aircraft than the entire Iranian air force. Military officials cited by London's Daily Telegraph said the buildup is part of a new annual exercise, but their was no secrecy about the fact that the "enemy" in the exercise is Iran.
There is great fear among Western powers that if Israel strikes Iran's defiant nuclear program, the Islamic Republic will retaliate by trying to close the Straits of Hormuz, a narrow waterway in the Persian Gulf that sees the daily transit of 18 million barrels of oil, or roughly 35 percent of the world's traded oil. For that oil tap to be shut off would have potentially catastrophic consequences for the economies of the US, Britain, the Euro Zone and Japan, among others.
There is also great concern that Israel is planning to strike Iran before the US presidential election in November in order to force President Barack Obama to militarily support the effort. Obama would likely lose a lot of votes among the pro-Israel American public if he did not help, and Jerusalem is worried that if it waits until after the election and Obama wins, he will be less inclined to provide assistance.
American and European officials have conducted a flurry of meetings with Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak over the past month, ostensibly to pressure Israel against using military force at this time. Obama and other Western leaders continue to insist that there is hope for a diplomatic solution, despite recent reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) suggesting that the past 10 years of diplomatic efforts have only served to accelerate Iran's nuclear program.
"The world tells Israel 'Wait, there’s still time.’ And I say, 'Wait for what? Wait until when?’," Netanyahu said last week. "Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don’t have a moral right to place a red light before Israel."
Netanyahu reiterated the urgency of the situation in a series of interviews with the American press over the weekend.
Asked on NBC's Meet the Press program about the possibility of implementing a containment strategy as was done with the Soviet Union after it went nuclear, Netanyahu said the West was underestimating the fanaticism that rules Iran.
"I think Iran is very different, they put their zealotry above survival... I wouldn't rely on their rationality," said the Israeli leader. "It's the same fanaticism that you see storming your embassies today. You want these fanatics to have nuclear weapons?"
