I figured that it was about time that I shared something special to help my fellow neighbors/ friends, who breeze by my humble time slot/ Blog here....TOM'S JOURNAL.
Since heart disease and strokes run in my German-American family tree, I feel that I KNOW how I am going to die, since I quit smoking in 1972, and driving my beloved motorcycles and flying in Army helicopters every day... LOL ! Wise pastors and friends have told me that God must have REALLY LOVED ME to have spared me from an early death so many times, but at the same time, some have told me that 'I must have HAD a death wish' -- for getting into so many accidents in my life of 64 years....Ha! Perhaps I was fool hardy when I was young, or didn't know my limitations. It's not that I hate life -- but with all the wickedness and gross sin in the world, I wish to be in heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ, my Saviour. I have tried hard to explain some of this combat/ war/ strife to my pretty wife, Terri M. Schuckman, but she is a lady and a civilian. On the other hand, I will never comprehend child birth [and don't want to, either].
Anyway, I hope that ya'll [sic --"you all"] can benefit from this info, and share it. My wife is at her son, Matt's graduation today [Master's Degree, I think], but I am not walking so good lately, and short of breathe. I hope to be at church in the morning {Family Baptist church, in Iron Mountain, MI --with the good pastor Kevin Sullivan ---kevin@familybaptistmi.org} ---phone 906-774-8239, ------ and leave our mighty Rottweiler, Deuce, to guard the house, and we have a great "Neighborhood Watch" on steroids, where we live, with a fine net work of neighbors, all deer hunters, and "Good Old Boys." I don't have much to steal anyway... just a poor old retired Chrysler worker/ welder, with a few extra cans of beans, and the KJV Bible [please check out: biblefortoday.org].
Warm Regards,
Tommy Schuckman
I crewed [gunner] on the "slicks" that transported Infantry in and out of the LZ's [Landing Zones] and took the fight to the enemy.. the dirty, dangerous work that the Infantry did. That was my job a hundred years ago... or so it seems.

Solar flares 2013: biggest flare storm of the year may affect earth
A fourth major sun flare within 48 hours was unleashed by a single sunspot giving birth to a solar storm, categorized at Class X flare the most powerful type, heading towards earth. The storm that erupted on Tuesday has hurled a massive cloud of charged particles out into space at millions of miles an hour.
Though the storm is not expected to pose any direct threat to the earth or the earthlings it might cause temporarily disruption of
The strong solar flares are basically categorized in three sections, with C being the weakest, M intermediate and X the most powerful. X-class flares can cause long-lasting radiation storms in Earth’s upper atmosphere and trigger radio blackouts. M flares can cause brief radio blackouts in the Polar Regions and occasional minor radiation storms, while C flares have few noticeable consequences. Strong solar flares can also supercharge Earth’s auroras, creating dazzling northern lights displays.
The frequent solar flares are being caused due to the sun being in an active period of its 11-year solar weather cycle which is expected to reach peak activity later this year. The current cycle, known as Solar Cycle 24, began in 2008. It may be mentioned that the scientists have been tracking sunspots, solar flares and other space weather events since they were first discovered in 1843.
According to solar astrophysicist C. Alex Young at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, the sunspot will likely be facing Earth by this weekend. He said: “In a couple of days, it will be far enough onto the disk that any CMEs that we got would probably have some impact on Earth.”
Astronomer Tony Phillips wrote on Spaceweather.com, a

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved sulfoxaflor, a pesticide the agency admits is toxic to bees. The bee population has already been decimated by a host of neonicotinoid pesticides, which work in much the same way as sulfoxaflor. That’s bad news for food crops. According to a United Nations report, of the 100 crop species that supply 90 percent of the world's food, bees pollina...te more than 70 percent.
But don’t worry. The EPA is requiring anyone using sulfoxaflor to notify “known” beekeepers within one mile of the treatment area 48 hours before they spray the pesticide. So the beekeepers can move their hives. The “known” beekeepers, that is. Can anyone say “loophole?”
