Thursday   Morning  12--12-19



Dear Friends and Gentle Readers,
     It was so very cold U.P. here in the North Central part of the USA today and -10 F. [minus ten degrees below zero Fahrenheit] with 'wind chill factors reaching -35 F and higher!  Those Temps are dangerous especially for those who have to work outdoors, of course.  My stepson, Brian, had the day off because of the brutal cold as he works in dangerously high places outside, and I fear for his safety.  He calls me "Dad" and he is a good, hard-working young man that I care for.  
      Anyway, I had a VAMC appointment today and learned a lot, with new hope that my CPAP machine will work better now after we learned some new stuff about it.  I suffer from a plugged up nose this Winter that makes it hard to breathe properly, and we are trying many new things to help the problem.  People can also have phobias/ fear of doing certain things, and that is why I do so much self-search on the InterNet.  We never stop learning, and I read that we shall continue learning after we get to heaven.   
     Two, fine, wonderful, smart nurses at the VA cheered me up this aft [afternoon] as they informed me of new things that might help me out in the future, etc., and the first one was Denise D., who was very kind to me.  The 2nd nurse/ CPAP expert was Pam Dubrow, PSGT, etc., who showed my wife and I some new things on my CPAP machine that might help me breathe better during my sleep, I pray.  Too, a dear friend named JJ -- another helicopter door gunner who also served in Vietnam gave me some valuable insight last night.  It's a wonder how so many combat Veterans survive and continue to live with all of their injuries!!    So I figure that if they are still living --- perhaps I might also live a bit longer.   However, I am also of the opinion that if I am trying my best to serve the Lord by reaching others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ--- perhaps the Lord will keep me on earth for a time longer.   But it's not up to me, but up to the Lord, IMHO.  I hang around other Christians that I deem smarter than I to learn from them along with my own Bible studies, etc.  And as I have said a few times on this blog, age 70 is considered a ripe old age for my family.  The people on my Mother's side of the family live longer.  Longevity is not my ultimate goal, but working for my heavenly Father is the main goal, and teaching, sharing the Word. 

Proverbs 27: 6 says,  "Faithful are the wounds of a friend;  but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful."    The King James Version of the Bible is so poetic and beautiful!  Some people memorize and recite verses from the Bible to 'show off and impress' other people.  But I feel that the bible is the HIGHEST SOURCE in the universe to tap/ borrow, to instruct, to prove my point.  I try to be humble, but also thank God for every ounce of wisdom and knowledge I have, and worked hard to store them in my brain.  I only wish that my family/ parents taught me these sacred saying from infant onward, but I am sure that they did the best possible job with me and my siblings.  And it's not up to me to judge whether they were "Saved" or in heaven now --- but that is up to the Lord, for sure!  They didn't quote any scriptures but taught me the value of truth, honesty, hard work, and other good things.   I miss my Mom especially as I used to call her on the phone every few days just to say hello and see how she was doing.    In the last days-- last years of Mom's life, my good sister Linda did so much work taking care of Mom and working so hard for her.  Thank you, Linda!  

I handed out a couple of Bible Tracts at the VA today while waiting to be called for my appointment at various stations, and also made another appointment with a fellow named,  Mike [and the mechanics] as I call him [by association].  That is how I remember the names of people -- by association with other names that "stick" in my head, from songs, musical groups, bands, etc.  I also ensured the understanding that I can just walk into the Gym [work out area] to use the weights and machines to help my body maintain better muscle tone, etc., also get that oxygen to other parts of my body to make me stronger and more healthy.  That will be harder in the Wintertime, but I got to start somewhere if I want to lose weight and more healthy.   It's kind of scary driving on snowy, icy roads.  

The baloney of the politics of the presidential impeachment every day on TV is just so nauseating/ sick!  You and I may ask,  'will it ever get better??'  The bible answer is,  "NO!"  Just read 'em and weep!'  I am not a pessimist -- just a truthful REALIST.  Sorry to steal all your air or thunder,  friends.  And to make matter worse we just found out that the powerful, deceitful generals and powers that be kept the American public in the dark for these decades past 3-- Presidents, telling the public that our wars to give other people the Freedom were not working and that the blood sacrifice of our young Soldiers and Marines were in vain!   Oh,  and BTW [by the way] the Soldiers/ our Armies in Vietnam DID NOT LOSE THE WAR OVER THERE --- but the cowardly politicians and News Media back home 'pulled the rug out from under us' -- the combat Veterans who sacrificed so much.  And to make matters worse we Vietnam Veterans got treated like used toilet paper when we did come back home from that thankless war, especially at the VA hospitals and Gov't "help programs!"   Yes, friends, that's ME, a Disabled Vietnam Veteran who can and is saying that!   I didn't come home to sit down and dry in my beer, but I worked just 2 weeks after I got home to Mom and Dad's farm in Wisconsin for the rest of my life earning the money and gaining knowledge so I could retire in dignity, even while dealing with combat PTSD, and going thru 'too many relationships' not knowing why, enduring the insults of many, including my siblings.  Oh well,  things are a bit different now as I am well off and doing much better.  God has blessed me with a good, hard-working wife who always had meaningful employment taking care of other sick people in the health care business.  I love her dearly.  

Let me say a few words about the fine article below... that the world is growing increasingly hateful toward the State of Israel, who still has a "Contract with God Almighty" no matter what she does or how she acts.  Satan is, of course, behind the whole theme of hatred and malice, but you would think that common sense and goodwill would prevail, as Israel is only defending herself against constant assault from her Muslim neighbours, the small countries that generally gang up all around her and fire rockets and bombs into her civilian population all the time!   Israel is just a small country, and the larger Arab countries could easily give land and homes to the Palestinian state who manufacture lies every day.  Just check out the History -- Israel was there FIRST!  And now even Canada and too many people [usually Democrates-Socialist] in the U.S. are fomenting plans to hurt Israel some more.  Shame !  God will surely punish all who threaten and hurt Israel.  I wouldn't want to me in that number when the SHTF... sorry.  And the beat goes on.  

Before I sign off,  I have been watching some U-tube Videos that demonstrate how a person can manipulate the head, face, and scalp to free up and dissolve the sinuses and help them drain, but I could not 'cut and paste' them to this blog site... sorry.  But try to just type, 'How to help the sinuses drain by natural means' of Google.  It helped me a little and I will keep trying to share all that with you.

Deals with the Devil By Hal Lindsey Nikki Haley, former US Ambassador to the United Nations, recently characterized a Canadian vote at the UN as "a deal with the devil." That's strong language coming from a well-regarded diplomat. I assume she meant it figuratively. But something literal is at work. Canada's recent about-face on Israel is a capitulation to the growing forces of darkness in our world. In recent years, the nations of the UN have been making a lot of deals with the devil - the actual devil. Haley was referring to a vote on an anti-Israel resolution sponsored by North Korea. That's right, those paragons of respect for human rights - North Korea's government leaders - sponsored a resolution condemning Israel for "occupying" East Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. The resolution also says that the wall Israel built "severely impedes the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination." That wall was built to stop terrorist activity in Israel. It has been highly effective. It was necessary because Palestinian leadership continues to act as a major sponsor of terrorism. Israel tries to make peace while Palestinian leaders encourage their constituents to randomly stab people and blow things up. When Israel responds to these terrorist acts, the Palestinians decry Israel's actions. Israel continues to try to make peace. But while they work for peace, they must keep their people secure. Thus, the wall. A few years ago, the seat of world antisemitism could be found in the Islamic nations. But more and more it is moving back into the lands where it manifested its greatest evil - Europe. According to UN Watch, "In the current 74th session of the UN General Assembly (2019-2020), all EU member states voted for one resolution each to criticize (1) Iran, (2) Syria, (3) North Korea, (4) Crimea, (5) Myanmar, and (6) the U.S., for its embargo on Cuba. "By contrast, EU states are expected to vote for 15 out of 20 resolutions singling out Israel. Yet these same EU states failed to introduce a single UNGA resolution on the human rights situation in China, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Cuba, Turkey, Pakistan, Vietnam, Algeria, or on 175 other countries." Think about the numbers - 20 resolutions against Israel. All EU nations are expected to vote for 15 of them. All (or almost all) of the 20 resolutions either have passed or are expected to pass in the General Assembly. Contrast that with 6 resolutions against the rest of the world combined! There were 20 against Israel while there was one against the number one state sponsor of terror in the world, Iran. There was one against Syria - the nation whose leader uses chemical weapons against his own people. There was one against North Korea - which starves, tortures, imprisons, or murders all who oppose its "Supreme Leader." There were no resolutions against Venezuela, where the leader kills his enemies and systematically starves his people. There were none against China where the war on religious freedom results in government-approved rape and pillage. There were none against Russia where opposing the Putin regime often equals death. Yet there were 20 against Israel. This level of hatred and vitriol is not natural. Jesus called Satan "the prince of this world." He is a being at war with God. He believes that if he can destroy Israel, he will win the war by making God a liar. And so, he fights Israel with all the venom he can muster. (And that's a lot of venom.) Eventually, he will try to destroy Israel by enacting a peace treaty between his man, the Antichrist, and the nation of Israel. But even then, God will keep His promises. These are troubled times. But don't despair. Instead, look up. Your redemption draws near.
