I GOT A COUPLE OF AWARDS!

Listen to this article. Powered by Odiogo.com

I was very pleasantly surprised to get an e-mail the other day informing me a couple of awards had been passed on to me.

ZURAMA, who writes SUNRISE IN HAVANA, sent me two awards she posted in the Spanish language version of Sunrise in Havana. Please go visit Zurama's blogs. They're a very good read, and she has items in Sunrise in Havana that you most definitely will NOT see in the mainstream news media! Zurama has a couple of other blogs, one about the life of her autistic son, and another where she displays examples of her artwork. When you visit, leave comments. Zurama's blogs are well worth adding to your reader too.
The first award Zurama passed on was the Apache Award 2009. This one is for being an untiring fighter against Communism.
Next is the 31 De Marco Award which refers
to the overthrow of the left-wing socialist Brazilian government on March 31, 1964. Now this isn't advocating doing anything of the sort here, but what this refers to is taking a stand against socialism and exposing the socialist agenda of the government (which goes back around forty-years when it really gained momentum although socialist-style entitlements and policies go back much farther than that).
When one receives an award, it's customary to nominate others, so here goes.
The Apache 2009 award goes to Tom, who writes TOM'S JOURNAL. Tom is a Vietnam veteran who served our country as a helicopter door gunner. He fought for freedom then, and he continues to the fight but in a very different way - the power of the pen. He also takes a very strong stand for being a Christian man, and makes absolutely no apologies for it regardless of the consequences. His Bible study articles are excellent. Tom also reports on what is going on in his day-to-day life, and currently he is focused on his wife who recently had some very serious surgery and is in for a very long and hard recovery. Please stop by, visit, and leave a comment of support. I know he'll appreciate it very much.
The 31 de Marco award goes to Kevin, THE BLACK SPHERE. He writes an excellent political journal that always has a humorous twist. It's always an easy read, and Kevin definitely does not blindly accept what the mainstream news media feeds the American public. Kevin also has a show on Blog Talk Radio. Be sure to stop by and comment. I think you will enjoy his writing very much.
Thank you, Zurama! I appreciate the honor very much!

The 'Sharon Chronicles,' -- Thursday, 4-16-09

Tom's Journal.

tschuckman@aol.com

Hello Guys and Gals,
I saw Sharon today and will email all the 'Faithful' about the details about where she is now. It's a nice place, very calm, clean and comfortable, quiet, and I left the new book I was raving about that Wayne B gave me so she has something to do constructively. Maybe the other reason she lost so much weight is because of her diabetic diet [super bland.. lol], but she is not complaining and does not want me to bring any 'extras.' She does have the bananas and oranges yet. I am feeding her cat, 'Cuddles' some of my personal stock of sardines, and she ate half a can today when I got home from my daily 'road trip.' A few neighbors in Union Grove are now asking about my wife's welfare and progress too.

The new place of Rehab is so huge that it's easy for me to get lost, but I have no fear or pride asking anyone I grab for info, and all are kind and cheerful.

Sunny day, 58 degrees F. and beautiful!! I am counting my blessings and putting my quiet home time to good use in reading the new study NASB bible I just bought-- but I will give that one away to Sharon tomorrow, and her purse, etc. I also purchased another NASB bible on-line last night, plus 2 more "Simply Jesus" books and a complete bible NASB on CD's to listen to while relaxing--- big spender. I think I will buy 1/10th of a Troy ounce of fine gold for my wife, with part of our Fed check tax return bread-- so I can give her something tangible that won't lose it's value, no matter what happens, for about $120., and that's a deal ! There will be plenty of cold cash for her too when she comes home if she wants to go shopping... lol. We just may save up for an 'Oxygen concentrator' to help her breathe in case our insurance gets 'obama-tized' inthe future, even though we have my Chrysler Ins, etc., but I like to plan ahead, and not leave our survival left up the the Gov't ... after what happened in New Orleans during Katrina... lol. I am just waiting to see how the 'next calamity is handled by this new administration. They would be the last people I would trust with our welfare, as FEMA just couldn't cut it last time!

I brought her little fan from home to keep her cool today that she requested via nurse last night -- and that was a 'God-send' for her, as she cannot tolerate heat. She asked me NOT to send or bring flowers... just my kisses and hugs. I better start making a list right now for my run in the morning. Good Night, friends.

A longer Drive in the Morning.

Tom's Journal.

tschuckman@aol.com

I don't want to count my chickens or celebrate yet-- but for now I am somewhat satisfied about Sharon's leap of progress. She had a nurse call from her new 1020, the new, different hospital in Milwaukee, to tell me that I should bring some things for her when I come in tomorrow. As always, there is no set rule or time before she can come home from Rehab, and it depends on the progress of the individual. I would think that older people would take longer to heal and recoup/ rehab. But I also think that good spirits and emotional well being are key to recovery.

I cooked/ roasted a leg of lamb today and had a fine time trying to figure out the new digital oven... lol, but it turned out pretty good, and I shared a few small pieces with my Rotty hound, and the cat. I also find that I spend a lot less money when I am home alone, but constantly need to make a list of things I need, for the VA cleaning lady to use, like today. Things are working out. I get good advice from friends like Debbie, Carolyn, Wanda Jane, Steve Brulport, Wayne B., etc. I just made a new friend from Canada, named Rick, the carpenter, and I would ask all my friends and readers to consider his son, Jay, in their prayers, please, who is battling a disease.

Sometimes, as I have noted before, the understanding and solution of a major problem is very simple, and some feel that it just can't be that true and simple [by the world's standards], and they dismiss the whole thing, letting something great get lost and slip through their hands. Trouble is: Many of us only get ONE SHOT AT SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT AS EVERLASTING LIFE IN HEAVEN WITH JESUS CHRIST!! I have had MANY chances to get right with God and learn His Word, but the Lord has been so long suffering, patient, and loving with me, sticking with me to see the conclusion and my final acceptance of the supreme, correct TRUTH of salvation and correct mindset !! I understand now what some of my biggest obstacles were, and I have mentioned them before. One of the biggest enemies we have is our pride. Then perhaps our selfishness and greed. Then perhaps laziness and complacence. I suppose it's 'different strokes for different folks', and one man's weakness might be another person's strong point. All we have to do is crack open the Bible and READ about these things-- and I think that the short 4 chapter book of Philippians is a good way to find out just what is the most important thing for us to realize and understand at this point in time! The apostle Paul put his love for Christ FIRST-- and all the rest of things as one big dung heap. All of the above mentioned sins might contribute to us NOT opening that wonderful book, but if people centuries ago were able to read, understand and assimilate the Bible-- we can too! You would think that all our time, energy and labor saving conveniences we have now days would give us more time to read... but reading and writing are fast becoming a "lost art." And please don't depend on the U.S. public school system to teach our kids English reading and writing.... lol. Come to think of it-- I didn't see ANY kids walking to school today. Was this 'Holy Sodomites' / Gay Day' ???

As for me, I don't much worry any more about the people who don't want to read the BOOK-- just those who hunger for the TRUTH about the Gospel and Jesus Christ, that perhaps I might help them find what they need in time. We can't cry over spilled milk or past sins, hardships, failures, sicknesses and deaths too much-- although I feel that I cried a river of tears these past few weeks because of all the pain and hardship my poor wife went thru with her open heart surgery, etc. Wow, what a bummer! Now should be our most busy time doing the work that the Lord wants us to do. I would think that one of the very few things holding back the Lord's Rapture, and Wrath for the wicked unbelievers, is the 'hungry souls still left out in the world who need to get into the Master's select group for salvation [for free]!' God, and His magnificent MERCY, Grace, loving kindness and Love! A friend reminds me of God's Mercy often when I complain about the wicked world growing worse every day, and why the Lord doesn't move on them now. He reminds me that I was one of those wicked sinners [and him too] not too long ago-- until I saw the light of salvation, and caught that light exactly at the right time-- at the right place, from the right people-- when my ears and heart were open.

There will always be jerky, goofy, scoffers right up to the end [mentioned in 2 Peter] -- but before that time God's salvation is yet available. Personally, I never liked to come in at the last minute or gamble with things that are so important. I like a good wide margin of safety-- and I don't care to see how close to the fire I can get without singeing my wings. And for those of us who have 'gifts and talents' I think it is certainly a sin if we don't use them further the Lord's work in witnessing to others in good season and bad. I will listen to any godly, biblical advice from fellow believers-- but not from any one too cowardly to give their proper name, ID and return email address. They are just clowns, fools and losers... LOL, not having a life of their own.

I will try harder not to be distracted by the gnats and flies that buzz around us, having no real, meaningful life of their own, bored, jaded and full of hurtful actions. They belong to their 'father--Satan the devil' and they must know that their 'season' is just about done and well on their way to the 'pit'.

Why don't we form a group of believers and share our different techniques about how we witness to others, our successes and stories, good positive news? Let us try to transcend the daily rat race, depressing news, corruption and utter failure of lying politicians who put on their silly showy displays. Let's not burn up our time talking too much about goofy 'movie stars', wanton junk, TV, that we don't need, and the mundane.
I am going to try harder to build up-- not dwell on the negative. Time is getting to be more precious all the time, IMHO.

Thanks!

Your Friend,
Tom

I would like all to know about some cowardly twerp/ loser, who is trying to post things on my blog comments, who 'identifies' himself with the name of, "Schuckman's Conscience" -- who has deliberately set up a false, hollow URL/ "Blog" that has no way of replying/ commenting/ contacting/ or positive ID... to him, and he leaves no way to email him. I guess he has so much time on his hands and has no life of his own, so he gets his jollies out of pestering and tormenting others on-line. I feel sorry for him... lol. A Christian would NOT do that, and I resent him using my family name at all! I will send a copy of this info to the 240th AHC, the old Army outfit I served in from 69-70 to expose him and discredit him as a coward and piece of trash that he is. He has also taken the title of: 'Captain of the 240th.' What kind of officer would stoop this low??
Since I added monitor controls to pre- read and delete the few goof balls that don't have a life, the public won't see his comments anymore. What a loser.... punk. Get a life!

Sincerely,
Tom Schuckman

Almost Ready for Sharon to Move to Rehab.

Tom's Journal.

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (Gordon Tribute)

I made a list but only got some of it done today, as usual, and lost track of time. I came in after noon-ish to see Sharon and brightened up her day. She writes things down on paper now to communicate with me for a better understanding. She told me the name of the Rehab place she will be transferring to when it's time. I brought her a bag of navel oranges and other treats, and bought her a CD/ radio with batteries for a pleasant diversion, but she says she loves to read the bible too. I brought her a half ton of mail/ letters that she can shift thru in her leisure.

This is NOT criticism, but the physical therapy people came about an hour into our visit and kind of insisted that she go get her walking done to strengthen her legs, etc., and I know that is important, so I left at that point.
I just thought of something I forgot to give my wife today!! See! I should have looked at my list before I got out of the truck.

You know-- actually, I get a good feeling when I visit Sharon too! I get to kiss her and rub her shoulder, etc., and see her progress. This reminds me of Proverbs 27: 17, "Iron sharpens Iron, So one man sharpens another." We just finish studying that chapter at the church bible study last Sunday. What it means is that 2 people of the 'right godly mindset, who read and study the scriptures to be a better warrior for Christ-- will "sharpen" each other as they talk, visit, work together for one common goal. Those are the real true brothers and sisters who take Christ centered life SERIOUSLY as they help and sharpen one another in the Faith. I am afraid that those kinds of brothers and sisters are RARE now days. I kind of found that out the hard way these past 3 months... lol. Better sooner than latter when my life hangs in the balance. I would rather have one of "those soldiers" in my fox hole fighting for my life!

The social worker just called me to tell me that the original plan or Lakeview, near Waterford, can't take my wife, because they down have a bed for her....Ha! So know 3 other Rehab places in Milwaukee are evaluating Sharon to see if they can squeeze her in-- but we think it will be the one in West Allis [but the way they change their minds-- don't bet the next month's mortgage on it...lol]. MILWAUKEE is about 35 miles away with gridlock and crime!! Seems like the Army did a lot of 'hurry up and wait' too...lol. Woo Woo! So you see, you can NEVER depend on anyone to meet your needs and do what they are supposed to. In Sharon's case, they need to wean her from her ventilator. I believe that most of the needles and hook up are out of my wife's body, arms, neck, etc., and she is able to walk to the bathroom now with assistance of a nurse/ helper.

An email friend, Debbie, told me to beware of 'Murphy's Law.' And... it ain't over 'till it's over. I am not going to complain too much because I am still high for the great healing and blessings that have rolled our way in the past few days of Sharon's recovery. Praise the Lord! The Social worker said that she missed me and was looking to talk to me today-- but we missed each other, and she has been very helpful to us, her name is Sue-- nice lady. Seems like she knows what buttons to push to get things accomplished, and I appreciate that! They were actually looking to transport Sharon today or tomorrow! At least she called me a few minutes ago and meant well. Things will work out. And now I need to look for some inspirational bible CD's for my wife to listen to and relax. We are praising the Lord for ALL our blessings, and we both look forward to seeing each other every day!

They weigh Sharon all the time, and she lost 49 pounds in these past few weeks in the hospital !!! Wow! I figure I only lost about 20-30 from doing more around the house and getting in and out of the truck, unloading my power scooter, etc. But we both did it the hard way with too much stress.

Time for me to take care of a few chores and then watch the goofy "news" on TV. Check out Fox News at 4PM., or the BBC, who are not on the Liberal Left's payroll.

Latter, Friends

Tom

'The Sharon Chronicles'

Hopelessly Devoted to you - Olivia Newton John

'The Sharon Chronicles'

When I came to see my wife in CCU again today, she was eating mashed potatoes, gravy and beef, with carrots, etc, but her stomach is shriveled up after these past 3 weeks, and some of her muscles need physical therapy. Her hands were FREE, with good dexterity able to write very well! She still can't speak right, but with her quick writing we can now communicate better! She looks better, and the nurses were very kind to me, giving me the daily report of how they had Sharon walking a complete circle around the nurses island, etc. Seems like she is healing good and in good spirits. We took care of some legal papers finally, and I brought her one of my big books on American Poetry.

I was surprised to only find [and grab] the last NASB [New American Standard Bible] Bible at Barnes and Noble in Racine, WI, this morning! Many experts consider it one of the most accurate renditions while still being easier to digest and understand. It's not that the Bible is hard to understand -- but not many Americans have enough READING SKILLS higher than the 4th and 5th Grade!!! Look what the Liberal Dims have done to our "education system" in America ! Sad... It's the Life Application Study Bible, big and bulky, but it should serve me well as another great study/ reference book in my library at home. We have many books on all subjects. I wonder if they make a book bag that big? But my wife is so talented that she could sew a nifty book bag.
Now she wants all her rings and watch, jewelry back that I was holding for her, and I will get a radio for her to listen to Christian radio, WVCY, 107.7 FM too. She accepted some of my bananas and said she wanted some fresh oranges which I will bring tomorrow. Life is Good again, for us!

For some-- after the crises is over-- they dump God and give ALL the credit and praise to the medical people, but we won't dare do that foolish thing. She wrote down in the Composition book I got her that, 'she was praying hard all along these past few weeks!' She was very close to death a few times, IMHO. After I came to the realization that it was all in God's hands no matter what-- I made some peace with myself that she would either go to heaven after death-- or live to be my companion for a few more years until the Lord comes back with the Rapture. I am sure that there are many oinks who sneer, smirk and laugh at we Christians who put our Faith and Trust in an invisible God that we cannot 'see.' And yes, there IS an element of true FAITH involved! I would think there is also 'faith' involved with other pagan religions, but our Gov't seems to favor them above us now days... lol. Think about Noah and the Ark, etc.

I don't have any more chest pains now and I am more relaxed, thankful, instead of bitter, on edge, hateful, impatient, and figure that I have again learned some powerful lessons. Just think: with this new found [although unwanted] experience, I can help and mentor others who fall into this kind of gut-wrenching anguish and sorrow. Like I said before, 'we don't have much control over what happens to us-- but it's how we DEAL with the situation.' I didn't take the stress and handle the "unknown" hidden stuff I didn't understand with Sharon's hard core surgery and slow recovery, life and death, stressful battle that I could not fight for her! I was bitter for the lack of recognition and failure to help, support or even CARE about a fellow Christian sister in dire straits--talking about the church we just left in Kenosha, but that was another important lesson I learned about me trusting humans to do the right thing, comfort zones, and the too busy attitude. Smart fellow believers already know that so-called 'churches' and congregations in the USA and world will/ are melting down and dissolving quickly in the 'end times' having a form of godly devotion, but proving false to it's power... 2 Tim. 3. Now is when the angels are separating the men from the boys, the real from the plastic, fakers, false brothers. Ask me if I will again trust some others now that they dropped the ball, big time?? Yes, I have to forgive them-- but I cannot trust them. I am not that stupid... lol.

OK, I don't want to dwell on the past now-- just set things straight and then MOVE ON! Still much work to do, and my appetite is coming back finally.
I have to pay off my CPA, mail bills and clean the house as much as I can today. Now that Sharon can write, she is telling me where she hid all the stuff at home so I can clean better. Forgot to get vacuum cleaner bags again today!
How many of my friends and readers keep a written list of things to do for the week?? I am dead now days with out my list. The first thing to go is the mind, right...? lol.

Tom
