How to choose the right Bible Org to give money.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

Hey Friends, Readers and fellow Believers!
This is NOT a 'brag post' but meant only to broaden and expand your horizons and just get involved IF YOU CAN. That's all. I figure if I get joy and happiness from an activity-- maybe my buddies might want to get a taste of it.

I want to talk more about my wife and how she needs to be encouraged as she continues to live in a Rehab place closer to our home. She has been a bit picky with her food in the past, but the general quality of food being served at Lakeview Rehab Center, near Waterford, WI on Highway 20 and Sharp Rd. [in the country side] is worse than Army chow at Camp BearCat, Vietnam. I was raised to eat all the food on the plate and NEVER complain or hurt my mom's feelings, and my Dad had hands of 'steel.' Well, I guess most of we Americans are spoiled, and God has blessed me, personally, with enough money to pay all my bills and buy fresh produce, veggies and fruit... We even have a water distiller at home because our 2 CPAP's that help us breath properly at night use distilled water. Honestly, Sharon MUST be on Oxygen 24/ 7, and I only use it at night. But doctors orders say that I have COPD and should be on Oxygen all the time too. I am going to start weight lifting at home, again, but the garden will also keep me busy.

Pray that Sharon will eat more of her daily food so she can gain her strength back. I watched her in the Gym today, with a slim lady name, Kaye T., who continuously coughed on my wife, and admitted that she smoked too much. There is a "health care professional" ... lol. Wait until she is on her death bed coughing up pieces of lung. Sad. Hey, I used to smoke everything when I was young and stupid in Vietnam... but then I finally grew up and quit smoking in 1973 and never looked back. Well, 10 years after that I started to gain weight-- but much of that is in my genes, yet I struggle to live on less. We ALL have our demons and battles to fight-- yet God LOVES US DEARLY and promises heaven and glory to ALL who accept His Son, Jesus Christ !!! Titus 1:2 says that, "God cannot lie!"
**************** ******* ****** ****** ****** **********************

Shoo! I am so glad that the Bible Organization was honest and true!! I just didn't want to "over commit" myself in these hard times, but reserved the option to donate more in the future--God willing.... lol.
I also was very happy to get involved with VOM [Voice of the Martyrs] in giving them some money to help get bibles to indigenous people in persecuted lands/ countries. I can't imagine what it's like to be a Christian in North Korea !!
:-\
I encourage all my friends to just THINK about getting involved with reputable bible orgs. as I have discovered. And you know what!! It all started when a dear friend, Wayne Bielgard, at RBC --Racine Bible church, gave me that book, SAFELY HOME, ~by Randy Alcorn.
Yes, I know that I have been truly blessed by the Lord by Him sending His powerful servants my way to give me that boost to be more active in the Lord's work. Wayne's "investment" in books that he paid for out of his own pocket has multiplied 10 fold, IMHO. I always 'WANTED' to get into something like this-- and we all know that I am too pained and disabled to be a missionary at this Autumn of my life--- but at least I can help others with my 'silver' and U.S. currency, 'soon to be devalued' ... lol.
:-(
Go figure... we can't even ask China to pull the plug on North Korea's fooling around with their nukes-- because China OWNS US !!!
Please continue to pray for Sharon as she is trying to learn how to walk again at the Rehab Center about 10 miles from our home in U.G.

Hugs, and Praise to Jesus, our Lord,

Tom

PTL for Veterans.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

I only want to say a few words of THANK YOU to the Veterans who gave their lives in combat to maintain our precious Freedoms and Liberties even as they are fast eroding in 2009, due to moral decay in this land of greed and corruption. It was not always this way. I remember when Veterans were honored and respected in America! Those were the 'good old day!' And I well know that a few employers gave me a break by hiring me as they knew they were getting a hard working, disciplined person embedded with the right work ethic and loyalty/ values. Thank you, too, for allowing me to hold on to my self respect and provide a meaningful existence and support my family.

Thank all the wives and children of Veterans who put up with so much baloney from their dysfunctional Vets hubbies and fathers who endured many nightmares and flashbacks, etc., but still tried hard to be productive members of society. May they all know that the Lord in Heaven loves them and wants them to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
***********************************************************************************
This has been the 2nd time when I visited my wife at Lakeview Rehab Center where there was a 'disturbance' concerning the poor quality of food. It's not my wife, but yesterday I witnessed a pregnant staff/ cook who publicly reprimanded a teenage boy who refused to eat his food, and today an old lady cussed up a blue streak about her poor quality of food next table besides us. It "looked" OK, until I tasted a small piece of roast beef that was stinky, tough and rough... lol. Sharon told me, "that's why I am losing wieght ... lol!" But I do bring her fresh fruit ever day and she does have a suplus in her room. I am not fussy but that institution 'food' would knock a buzzard off a manure wagon... Ha! I can also usderstand that my wife is very lonely there without many to talk to, and I believe that has a direct bearing on how fast she heals. I will see her tomorrow again during her physical rehab and they will teach ME who to pick her up, etc.
She cried on my shoulder today that she missed me and is lonely there. I guess she really needs more TLC and physical contact. I will try harder to work on that aspect of my life with Sharon. She is so bored, and she just can't watch TV and read the bible non-stop, so I will bring a radio with a CD player in the morning. I took a few pix of her and will try to post them soon.

Have a safe Memorial Day!

Provide Bibles for persecuted Christians.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

I am very happy to share the reply I just got from Randy Alcorn, in response to a question about getting involved with donating/ helping to supply Bibles for the persecuted Christians in China, India, etc., where the Gov't's jail, torture and murder real Christians who are caught practicing their Faith in Jesus and spreading the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. This kind of satisfies an old craving for more 'combat' action/ excitment that I sometimes miss from my old Vietnam days, and riding my big Goldwing motorcycle. I figure that I want to do SOMETHING worth while so I don't go before the Lord with an 'empty bag'... LOL. And this will be a small part of my service to the Lord and a big 'thank you' for Him coming into my heart and saving me. I believe that sharing the Word of God must be one of our main priorities and the hall mark of our Christian Faith.

The VA cleaning lady helped me plant the family veggie garden today! And 2 neighbors came over to watch. I always share some of our fresh, organic produce with others, and we got 6 tomato plants, plus zucchini, cucumbers, kohlrabi, planted so far. I will shop for things that Sharon wants and bring it to her tomorrow morning, like flowers, oranges, etc, and her walker, plus get more cleaning supplies that Sue needs to help me clean the house, and some cat food. In an emergency, I will open up a can of sardines for the cat-- while I lock Deuce the hound in his cage until she gets done. Deuce is just a big old brute who eats up EVERYTHING in sight, even though I keep his bowl and water dish full all the time. When he steals the sardines he has the most terrible case of foul GAS! I don't feed him pork for that reason either... lol.

I miss Sharon and call her on the phone about 4-5 times a day. They got her walking with assistance, but they can't rush her, and they give her constant therapy every day. She shares the Gospel there with everyone she comes in contact with and makes friends easily, but it's lonely there with nothing much to do except read and TV. She will get a room mate on Monday.

Have a SAFE weekend!

Sharon's New Crash Pad in the Country.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

Another great sunny day in WI, with air temp. 80 degrees F.

I saw Sharon today at her new [different Rehab place] not far from our humble hovel in U.G. and took the dog with me, as the nice cleaning lady was working at home. She mentioned that the house was a lot cleaner with me home alone, and I made sure that I combed and brushed the dog outside yesterday, so that there were less hair on the floor. Got to take care of your animals. I have ALWAYS kept my houses clean and organized, until these last few years when dysfunctions, arthritis and fractured bones have caught up with me-- and it's hard to get down low to scrub things. I am so blessed that Sue, the lady from Germany is my house keeper, and she is about 3 years older than I, and has some pain now too. Then I can practice my German! I love to learn and be correct.

Sharon wanted me to take some of her stuff home for safe keeping, and I brought her cell phone charging cord and personal mail this morning. She doesn't have too many complaints but is smart enough NOT to try and walk on her own [we are all worried that she will fall and break something --worse!] They don't turn on their A/C in that slack, country facility until it gets really uncomfortable, but they gave my wife a fan... They are VERY laid back, slow, nonchalant, and a bit indifferent, until I "got their attention" today, LOL.
I will tell you a joke that is partially true--- The good people in Germany demand perfection in everything-- so they walk around in constant frustration because the rest of the world is so laid back and imperfect! The Germans have always been noted for their 'hard work ethic' and good craftsmanship in everything they make and build. But they can take things TOO far in being too demanding and picky, but that's just my own personal opinion. from being in Germany for 6 months, and my family is of German descent also. As for being stubborn, I don't buy that at all.... because I have known ALL nationalities to be stubborn! Ha!

Sharon said she finished that 2nd book I gave her, "Safely Home" ~ by Randy Alcorn, so I gave her a quick quiz to hear what she liked about it. She said that she now has a greater, more detailed concept of how great heaven will be-- and to see the Lord! The Bible promises 'NO MORE TEARS NOR OUT CRY' in heaven. It all came together for her too in the end. Now she is eye-balling some of his other books of interest--- so we got her hooked now too ! Woo Woo! I am happy for her!

So now we just have to be patient and let Sharon heal again and get her physical therapy and rehab going. Go figure, she has been away for a long time, I have had much peace and quiet, but I am lonely without her and miss sleeping with her [because I love her very much], and making her fav dishes and meals and conversation. I told her I want to get back to my guitar playing and learn new songs/ Gospel, etc. I want to make her feel good, and special, as we both grow closer to the Lord in these last days. We expect to see a 'real light show' pretty soon when the world caves in and degrades into ashes and super poverty. I am so grateful, thankful and in awe to finally understand perfectly just how great the God of the Bible is and how He will "Shepard the nations with an iron rod" for their wayward God-hating, selfish heart and mindset of being so wicked, perverted and lawless. And with all the prophetic, easy to read scriptures that are available in every language, they still, for the most part, ignore, insult, make fun of, and disregard the Will of God. "Man has ruled man-- to his injury!" ~ Eccl. If I was them, I would be [what the bible says...] 'watering my knees' ~ KJV. But as Joshua said, "as for me and my household, we shall serve the Lord [Jehovah]." But now we focus more on the Lord Jesus Christ because He gave His life for all of us--- yet relatively few take advantage of His sanguinary sacrifice to pay for all of our sins, past, present and future.

Bro. Rick Brown and his hard working son did a real fine job tilling our Victory Veggie Garden last evening and I saw Rick sweat hard, so |I gave them both a cold Squirt soda pop to drink. They came along way to help me out and they are always welcome here! He didn't even ask for payment..... but I 'helped him out' because I appreciate his hard work and friendship. He used to be Army Airborne and also went to Bible college, and now he has a great job in IL. I truly miss many of my old buddies, friends and brothers at the 'old church' who were my age, and Sharon used to be a great teacher in AWANA-- a Christian Bible class for the children on Wednesday nights at Victory Baptist church, but it was so far away for us to drive twice a week. But I was baptized there and learned a lot of good things from all the Bible studies and pastor's preaching.

Guess I will rest up so I can go to an important business place tonight. I was going to buy some young tomato plants and seeds, but the place was so jam packed after noon, so I will go tend to my garden needs tomorrow and start planting early in the morning. I have always had my dear wife to help me plant, so it will be interesting this year.

Proverbs 18:14 "The Spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear." KJV.

U.S. Gov't Anti-Christian.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

Remember: You hear it here first. And my 'mantra' is still: "You ain't seen nothin' yet !"
No matter what the source is, TRUTH IS TRUTH no matter where you hear it. Besides that-- we always have the Bible to rely on to set things straight, according to prophecy. When you measure issue with the reliable Bible, and 'God cannot lie' -- you just might be surprised at how far away from RIGHT and TRUTH we have become in America.

Jesus is Lord.

The U.S. Government Has Become Patently Anti-Christian
By Chuck Baldwin
May 19, 2009

This column is archived at
http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2009/cbarchive_20090519.html

From the writings of Columbus to the Mayflower Compact, to the Declaration
of Independence, America's founders clearly and articulately enshrined
bedrock Christian principles in the foundation of this country.

For example, in explaining the purpose of his journey that led to the
discovery of the new world, Christopher Columbus said, "It was the Lord who
put into my mind--I could feel His hand upon me--the fact that it would be
possible to sail from here to the Indies . . . All who heard of my project
rejected it with laughter, ridiculing me . . . There is no question that the
inspiration was from the Holy Spirit, because he comforted me with rays of
marvelous illumination from the Holy Scriptures . . . For the execution of
the journey to the Indies I did not make use of intelligence, mathematics,
or maps. It is simply the fulfillment of what Isaiah had prophesied . . . No
one should fear to undertake any task in the name of our Savior, if it is
just and if the intention is purely for His Holy service . . . the fact that
the Gospel must still be preached to so many lands in such a short
time--this is what convinces me." (Source: Columbus' Book of Prophecies)

Our pilgrim fathers wrote in the Mayflower Compact, "In the name of God,
Amen. We whose names are underwritten . . . Having undertaken, for the glory
of God and the advancement of the Christian faith . . . a voyage to plant
the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia."

In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson invokes our Creator-God
no less than four times. In fact, Jefferson predicates the Declaration on
"the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" and concludes the Declaration with
an appeal to the "Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our
intentions" and with "a firm reliance on the protection of divine
Providence."

Attorney and author, John Whitehead, in his book, The Separation Illusion,
rightly noted, "In 1892, the United States Supreme Court made an exhaustive
study of the supposed connection between Christianity and the government of
the United States. After reviewing hundreds of volumes of historical
documents, the Court asserted, 'These references . . . add a volume of
unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a
religious people . . . a Christian nation.' Likewise, in 1931, Supreme Court
Justice George Sutherland reviewed the 1892 decision in reference to another
case and reiterated that Americans are a 'Christian people.' And in 1952,
Justice William O. Douglas affirmed that 'we are a religious people and our
institutions presuppose a Supreme Being.'"

Accordingly, our U. S. Constitution is dated: (1) from the birth of Christ,
and (2) from the birth of our independence (Article. VII.). Secondly, the
Constitution requires the President and Congress to respect "the Christian
Sabbath" (Sunday) as a day "excepted" from governmental business (Article.
I. Section. 7.). Thirdly, the First Amendment prohibits the U.S. Congress
from making any law "respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof." In other words, the federal government has no
right to interfere with the free expression of religion (by individuals or
States) in any shape, manner, or form. Fourthly, Article. VI. of the
Constitution prohibits any religious test as a qualification for public
office.

The intent of the Constitution's framers was, therefore, in the matter of
religion (especially the Christian religion, whose adherents birthed
America), that the federal government would maintain a healthy respect for
it, and keep its hands off. For the last several years, however, instead of
respecting religion--especially the Christian religion--the leaders of our
federal government have increasingly demonstrated animosity, and even
hostility, toward both the Christian faith and Christian people.

While claiming to be "tolerant" and "pluralistic," our federal government,
in practice, shows little tolerance or pluralism regarding Christianity.
Time and again, Christian practices and people are singled out for
humiliation, persecution, or retribution. This situation follows an eerily
similar pattern to that of the old Holy Roman Empire.

The Roman Empire loved to tout its tolerance for any and all faith systems.
One common adage at the time was that "there are as many gods in Rome as
people." So tolerant was Rome for myriad religious beliefs that it even
constructed an altar to the "UNKNOWN GOD," for fear that it may have
neglected to honor someone's obscure god.

Why was it, then, that the Roman Empire took delight in publicly
persecuting, torturing, and executing Christians? What happened to
tolerance? What happened to pluralism? In direct contravention of its own
laws and policies, Rome singled out Christianity for public repudiation. And
that is exactly what the U.S. government is currently doing. I'll say it
outright: the U.S. government has become patently anti-Christian.

In spite of Constitutional requirements to keep its hands off religious
liberty, the U.S. government routinely singles out Christian practices for
public repudiation. For years now, federal judges have demanded that local
schools (under the jurisdiction of local and state governments) prohibit
prayers or Bible reading.

Does anyone find it a little interesting that all over America, while
Christian students are denied the right to pray or read the Bible in public
schools, Muslim students are not only allowed to pray in public schools, but
are also often provided special prayer rooms within the schools so that
those students may leave their classrooms and pray? In fact, in some school
districts, if the Muslim prayer time interferes with a student's tests, the
student is many times free to make up the test in order that he or she may
be faithful to the prayer meeting. Of course, the reading of the Koran is
also included in the Muslim's prayer time. All of this is done with the full
knowledge and blessing of the U.S. government (and the ACLU, by the way),
including the myriad federal courts--courts that are always "fast on the
draw" to squash any and all attempts by Christians to pray or read their
Bibles in public schools.

And it is not just the Muslim religion that meets with the approval of the
U.S. government. Federal courts find no fault in public school students
observing Kwanzaa, celebrating the pagan holiday of Halloween, or engaging
in various eastern religious practices such as Hindu meditation. At least
one school district in Utah has allowed Tibetan monks to conduct Tantric
Buddhist devotionals in its public schools. At least two schools in
California have even introduced New Age curricula honoring Lucifer to their
students. Basically, any and all religious beliefs are condoned and
tolerated by the U.S. government--every belief system except Christianity,
that is.

In addition, how many local or State courts have been ordered by federal
judges to remove any and all copies of the Ten Commandments or other
scriptural references from their buildings? How many local governments have
been ordered by federal judges to remove any and all Nativity or Manger
scenes from their properties? How many chaplains have been ordered to remove
Bibles from soldiers, sailors, or Marines? How many Bibles have been
destroyed by orders from military commanders? How many prisoners or
detainees have been denied Bibles (even when requested) by order of military
brass? How many military officers have been overlooked for promotion (and
thus drubbed out of military service) for not being willing to surrender
their Christian convictions to "sensitivity" or "diversity" training (a
euphemism for homosexual brainwashing)? How many times has the U.S.
government quietly looked the other way when Christian people have been
slaughtered en masse? (Can anyone say, "Sudan"?) How many Christian
chaplains in the armed forces have been ordered to not pray in Jesus' name?
How many pro-life Christians have been targeted by federal police agencies
for special scrutiny? How many sheriffs' offices (run and managed by
Christian law enforcement officers) have been denied federal funds for not
submitting to a variety of repulsive policies mandated by the federal
government?

Then there is this AP story: "Iraq has lost more than half the Christians
who once called it home, mostly since the war began, and few who fled have
plans to return." The report continued, saying, "The number of Arab
Christians has plummeted across the Mideast in recent years as increasing
numbers seek to move to the West, saying they feel increasingly unwelcome in
the Middle East and want a better life abroad.

"But the exodus has been particularly stark in Iraq--where sectarian
violence since the U.S.-led 2003 invasion has often targeted Christians.

"The AP found that hundreds of thousands of Christians have fled." (Source:
The Associated Press, Thursday, May 14, 2009)

To highlight the AP report, in 1987, there were 1.4 million Christians in
Iraq. Now there are fewer than 400,000. For all of Saddam Hussein's sins,
persecution of Christians was not one of them. Under Hussein's regime,
Christians, for the most part, led a persecution-free existence--something
extremely rare in Muslim countries. In fact, Saddam Hussein even had
Christians serving in his administrative cabinet.

Enter the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

Since removing Saddam Hussein, the U.S. government has installed an Islamic
puppet government, which has resulted in the persecution of hundreds of
thousands of Iraqi Christians.

I hope all the evangelical Christians who continue to support George W. Bush
and his unconstitutional, preemptive invasion of Iraq are paying attention.
I hope all my Christian friends who kept trumpeting the unconstitutional
policies of President Bush, "because he is a Christian," are paying
attention. I really wish that James Dobson and his ilk would have been as
outraged at the unconstitutional (not to mention unchristian) policies of
the former Republican President as they are the current Democratic
President, because, for all intents and purposes, the federal government is
functioning in exactly the same way under one as it did under the other.

Whether domestically or internationally, the U.S. government is obviously
committed to an anti-Christian agenda. Where the federal government once
respected Christianity and vowed to not interfere with the faith and
practices of Christian people, it has now become an archenemy of religious
liberty. With virtually every constitutional safeguard being violated by the
modern federal government, about all that is left is for the constitutional
prohibition of government business being conducted on Sundays to be
expunged. Don't be surprised, therefore, when federal courts begin mandating
that public schools require students to attend class on the Lord's Day.

If we are to restore the principles of religious liberty, it will be
necessary for State governments--and for Christian people in particular--to
stand united against an ever-growing, ever-menacing federal leviathan that
is intent on destroying the safeguards and foundations of a once-proud
constitutional republic, which was, after all, rooted and founded upon
Christian principles.

The Chrysler Plant in Kenosha is Shutting Down.

Tom's Journal.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com

Well, in this case [if it's really true--and they get good health Ins. coverage...] my friends that are still working there in the KEP - Kenosha Engine Plant will get a good deal... I hope. But there always seems to be some 'catch' or strings attached, so we shall see. Like I said before, the Union shouted from the house tops how great and wonderful Mr. Obama would be for us, the USA and the whole world, their personal Savior, etc. Brothers, I hope you are satisfied with 'the change.'
As for me, IMNO, the man is evil when he takes MY tax dollars to promote and facilitate ABORTION in the USA and the rest of the world. He trashes our Constitution and the 1st and 2nd Amendments and also promotes perversions like Sodomy, etc. That's the way I see things on May 11th, 2009.

I finally got to shampoo my Rottweiler hound outside in the sunny breeze and he smells a lot better and his coat is so shiny! Woo Woo!

Sharon just called to tell me that the staff and doctor said that they intend to transfer her to a Rehab facility closer to our home tomorrow-- but that REALLY translates into a "maybe"... and maybe she will be there for 2 weeks. Now I need to get somebody with a rototiller to work up our garden so I can plant my super tomatoes and cukes, etc. I will do that by myself, no sweat. And who knows, I may picket with my old buddies [ in my power scooter] at the Chrysler plant in Kenosha at 5PM today, even though it won't do any good... lol, but it will be fun to see old friends again.

Have a nice day!

Tom

Kenosha Factory Workers Get Retirement, Buyout Offers

DETROIT (AP) -- Chrysler LLC has expanded early retirement and buyout offers for workers at six of the eight factories that it plans to close as part of its bankruptcy restructuring, including the Kenosha Chrysler plant.

In some cases the offers are better than the ones currently on the table for all of Chrysler's roughly 26,000 hourly workers. All the offers expire on May 26 with workers expected to leave the company the following day.

Under the old offers, workers would get a $75,000 cash buyout and a $25,000 voucher to buy a car to leave the company. Workers eligible for early retirement can get $50,000 and a $25,000 car voucher.

Chrysler spokeswoman Dianna Gutierrez said the new offers add a $115,000 lump-sum payment for workers with more than 10 years of seniority who chose to leave the company. They also come with 12 months of health care. The early retirement age also was reduced from 55 to 50, she said.

At two factories, St. Louis North and South, workers within two years of retirement eligibility on the dates their plants close would be placed on leave of absence with 85 percent of their pay until they are eligible for retirement.

In addition to the St. Louis plants, the offers apply to the Conner Avenue plant in Detroit; the Kenosha, Wis., engine factory; the Twinsburg, Ohio, parts stamping plant and the Sterling Heights, Mich., assembly plant.

The two other plants identified for closure, Detroit Axle and Newark, Del., assembly, will not get the enhanced offers. Detroit Axle employees are being offered transfers to a new factory being built near Port Huron, Mich., while Newark is already closed.

The company said in a statement that funds have been set aside to make sure workers will be paid the retirement and buyout incentives.

Chrysler is operating in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and is trying to reduce its manufacturing footprint to match lower sales. The eight plants were identified as part of the bankruptcy court filing on April 30.

The company has received $5.8 billion in U.S. government loans and could get more to get in and out of bankruptcy. It plans to shed assets, debt and contracts during bankruptcy to become more competitive, with Fiat Group SpA taking over the company's good assets.
