Well Friends and Readers,
WE KNEW that the passing gas of 'obama-care' would bring on the battle royal, and I don't think this is a 'flash in the pan', nor will it go away soon... and that's good! This was never about 'health care' although they threw us a few scraps of soup bones, but it's all about POWER and CONTROL !! Next comes the so-called 'Immigration/ Amnesty' bill, hard on the heals of the Dims first bloody ['American' English] kill, and that makes sense to ram another through in their drunk delirium of a so-called victory. Actually, it was another slap in the face of true Christianity and the Bible, and the scrap of paper obama signed concerning 'no-abortion' is totally worthless and will be over turned soon enough! For one thing, it was an overreaching/ corruption of presidential power that the Supreme Court could strike down in a heart beat, and still won't end abortion that will be somehow circumvented by his fav. pals, Planned Parenthood, the ABORTION PROS! The Bart Stupak- Dims were just looking for a 'wiggle-out' excuse like Pontius Pilate, who was actually a coward who caved to the Jewish mob mentality of THAT era... and nothing has changed since then. So there is noting really new under the Sun, friends.
Since we all have a short memory [or lazy mind] I suggest that we keep a fat note book of corrupt laws that are passed, and amendments that over turn former promises....Ha!
My words today are NOT filled with poison, just truth and fact as I see it. I have not been wrong too many times, mainly because I try to stay close to the Scriptures of God Almighty. You just can't go wrong with the Lord. HIS ways never change! The world may SEEM to look like they party non-stop, but their pockets are empty, the 'plastic' is maxed out and their tongues are dry and parched from so much substance abuse and disease, etc.
So even though we keep up the fine fight to save as many "Old" Freedoms as we can, Please Know the these Times MUST get worse as the day of the Lord draws near.
I already did a lot of running around early this morning, down to the Milwaukee VA, then to Racine, WI., to buy some good silver ware that we never had, washed my old '07 Dodge Ran 4 by 4, and came home none to soon to let my hound dog outside for a needed 'breather'..lol. We are good buddies. Sharon is waiting to know what her status is: staying at the Rehab, or coming home. I have the screen doors open to let in some fresh air. Life is good and sunny today. |Praise the Lord... "PTL."
Thank God I found an emergency opening in my old Dentist's office tomorrow to fix of extract my sore back tooth that is giving me a blinding head ache... lol. If I tried to wait for an opening at the VA-- I'd be dead by that time...Ha! England and Canada-- move over. BTW, When the 'president' and Pelosi were fear mongering about the utter urgency of poor people who were locked out of getting health care RIGHT NOW and fear of them dying at home....lol, that was a BIG OLD LIE full of BS! The obama-care bill will NOT TAKE EFFECT FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS!!! Put that in your pipe and smoke it. That's correct, for the most part, from what I understand, not too much will change until 2 years from now. I may be wrong but I thought I heard that on Fox News by The Judge. The stuff I listed below [articles] may shed more light on this subject, that you might find interesting.
And it looks like the 'powers' slugged it out so that my wife can stay in Rehab for the next 2 weeks and get well, PTL ! Good News for a change!
Warm Regards,
Tom

The Call to Discipleship.

This following article is a 'KEEPER' and sure struck a nerve with me.
Humans continually need 'refresher courses' to prod them like ancient agrarian 'ox goads' that were the old version of electric shock sticks to 'encourage' stubborn cattle to move along... lol. 'Repetition is the mother of retention'.. old school. But that is too tedious for our present day younger students, and so they graduate high school not knowing how to read and comprehend English-- let alone 1611 KJV Bibles, being functionally illiterate... shame.
The different 'degrees' of people who latch on to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but then fall away for different reasons, like: too much pressure, work, lack of desire, or being afraid of what people THINK OF THEM, etc., is outlined and fascinating to me in the article because I have seen this many times in my 61 years of life on planet earth. Sorry, that I continue to regress to my old Army days of learning, but we have good soldiers and those who are 'along for the ride' who did the bare minimum. I was only in for 3 years of active duty, but combat imbues one with tons of action, experience, and knowledge, sometimes learned the 'hard way' IMO.
People who do the bare minimum tend to get themselves killed AND their buddies, friends. There is some value in the jingle: "Be all you can Be--in the Army" -- but let us apply that to the 'Army of God'!
You get out of something what you put IN TO SOMETHING! Why not be a Master of the Gospel rather then a 'jack of all trades-- and master of NONE ?' In my humble opinion [IMHO], Everlasting life in Heaven with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, is WORTH any and all work/ endeavor now! If we can JUST get the mindset that 70-80 years on Earth is NOTHING compared to eternity of heaven!! But that is hard to teach to a world where 'instant gratification' is the norm. And, Hey! -- this concept came slowly to me too, and it took many years to finally get with the program; so I totally understand how people think and operate. This fact gives me patience to deal with the slow minds... but being a good preacher/ teacher of the Word is that more important NOW --go figure! The problem is in the fact that we are well along in the 'TIME LINE' of the End Times, right before the Lord WILL come back to Rapture His Believers/ Servants! People need to take a 'Crash Course' in Discipleship NOW! Sorry folks-- that's just the way it is.
When I first started out woodworking/ wood carving, etc., my artistic talents were lacking and sorry. Reading, buying books on "how to", and rubbing elbows with the experts is what propelled me to finally be a master of my craft, but that requires a lot of DESIRE. I have found in my personal case that I have had to pray for more desire--concerning God, even for a "new heart" so as to love the Lord more and do His Will. When things are not 'clicking' and we are not making progress in our spiritual life-- prayer and more EFFORT is what we need. Ask the Holy Spirit to stiffen your spine, heart and mind! It only means your life in eternity, friends and readers!
I have a full day ahead of me today. I have to drive 22 miles to Milwaukee to pick up some 'slow' meds, and too bad I have to argue and struggle to get some of my meds on time... and don't worry, YOU FOLKS ain't seen nothin' yet...ha ha, wait 'til obama-care. LOL! the Dims are pushing Immigration NEXT! Beware. Then I will take the hound dog with me to visit my wife in the Rehab place, as he is a trained, qualified 'Service Animal' to cheer up the patient, Sharon. WE just need one more certificate so then I can get permission to take Deuce the Rotty to the VA as a 'Therapy animal' to help the Vets feel better-- and then I can use that to 'facilitate my ministry [of sorts] to hand out pocket bibles to those who desire, and share the great joy of the Gospel. That is my high lofty hope and pinnacle of desire/ success while waiting for the Lord to come for us.
Don't forget to check out: INJESUSNAME.ORG ... to help the brothers in Nigeria who are getting slaughtered by the Muslims, please.
Take care, friends.

Don't Burn ALL your time on Politics.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com
I had trouble posting the web site of the fine org: INJESUSNAME.ORG --but that's to be expected living in a hostile, God-hating climate like America. Sorry, but it's true, folks. I am going to tell you all something that could really make me a pariah, sort of traitor or crazy man [like Glenn Beck] tonight, but it will be short. A good commander always has a "B Plan", a contingency to fall back, regroup. Remember what Solomon said in ECCLESIASTES 9:11, "I returned and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to the men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all." Some people call that 'luck.' But the last chapter of this book, says to "Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole DUTY of man." So as true bible students and Christians, we KNOW what the final conclusion of the matter is-- and how things will end for true Christians with the Rapture, and then 'hell on earth' for the 'UNBELIEVERS.'
But in the meantime, NOW, we will probably see many noble fights-- but some major set backs-- and I am predicting obama-care will punch through and be a real curse for the American people.... sorry. Hey guys-- I keep rehashing the Lot --and Sodom story where God granted Lot that if he could just find 10 righteous people in that 'West Coast' manure dump, that He would spare the city! But when you figure that the USA has loved abortion, sodomites, immorality, greed, corruption, and hated God and Israel so much--- God is justified to do what He sees fit with us too.
Friends, you all know that I send letters and emails to my State Reps, Senate, etc and fight the fine fight--- but should we burn off all our time, energy, riches in human politics that will ultimately fail??? Or should we place MORE time, effort and funds to GOD'S WORK?? Please remember that it's another one of Satan's ploys to MISLEAD, confuse, burn up precious TIME, so that the majority of people on earth will LOSE OUT ON EVERLASTING LIFE IN HEAVEN!! Be Balanced! Be Sober. Get with God's Program today, NOW. When you finally get to heaven, you will have to give an account of yourself-- as to what you did for the Lord all that time on earth.
Ponder on this. And if the end comes in a few months-- what will you say then?
Sharon is at a good Rehab place right now, but the doctors who have her best interest at heart are FIGHTING with Medicare so that she can stay in the Rehab place long enough to get her straight and fit to come home. Medicare....Ha! Can't you all see that with obama-care and rationing, things will get much worse for us?! Be prepared and plan now for such eventualities. SS and Medicare are soon to go bankrupt, and then you will see some 'heat' and riots... It doesn't take a lot of brains to figure this out. Just be prepared for the worst-- and be prepared for the day when the Gov't bans Christianity in America. Sorry folks-- that how I see it.

My wife is being transferred today to a near by Rehab center in Kenosha, WI for a few weeks, but I don't think the 'doctors' really know anything for sure, one way or another, as they have to deal with so many patients on a daily basis. All my friends are trying hard to cheer me up, but I suffer from depression anyway, so this a 'double battle' for me and stressful. Sharon is lonely and calls me many times a day, and visa versa. And you never really know how much you love someone until they are taken away, sick or injured. Then it's too late to say you love them, or say you are sorry for being such a pain in the neck. I have been told that many times, but we humans need repetition.
Sharon has become a strong witness for the Gospel of Jesus Christ these past year as she developed a daily study course of her own concerning that book I gave her, '101 Last Days Prophecies.' She has 2 note books filled with her own notes and scriptures that she looks up to verify and write down. I saw her hospital room mate the other day, an old, senile JW woman who is loud, boisterous, ornery and gives the staff a lot of trouble...lol. She made the comment to my wife upon seeing Sharon's KJV Bible, that that was not the correct bible-- and that it doesn't contain the name of God -- JEHOVAH. Sharon recited Psalm 83:18, where God's name IS written there, and that clammed her up...Ha! The JW's had to develop their own perversion of the Bible to suit their own trashing the Deity of Christ, etc., and to support their own lies and machinations. That is the bare truth! I ought to know because I lost 22 years trapped in that destructive org. even being appointed a ministerial servant. Don't get me started-- but they are responsible for sending thousands to hell. They say that only 144,000 are going to heaven, and any disagreements with their 'WatchTower mag., can lead to fellowship. They have an unusually high suicide rate and plenty of inner corruption and insidious immorality-- and how arrogant they are! There are many different Christian churches that teach the truth of the Bible, but I learned more about God and the Bible from Victory Baptist Church in Kenosha, WI., in 4 years than I did all of the 22 wasted years at the 'Wisdom Hole' [Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses]! They are a destructive cult, and deadly. They love to hook in people who don't have a rock solid Christian foundation.
So at least Sharon had a proud high point yesterday that she shared with me.
Now... even as I speak, Sharon called me again, and said that because Medicare might not pay for the Rehab, I may have to come and take her home. Can't you all imagine what obama-care will be like-- about 100 times worse, and we still don't know what's in the bill !!

Secrets of getting Old.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com
The Secrets of getting Old.... a nice song and experience, important to know and remember. One of the Deacons at church, a fine, warm brother named Joe Belanger, is helping me deal with the worry and sadness of my wife's down ward plunge of health in the hospital again. Precious friends like him and all my Christian on-line friends, believers, and others, are worth their weight in GOLD! Granted, Bro. Joe, couldn't tell me anything new that I didn't already know--but his friendship, time and effort was well received as an encouragement. He told me that I must break out from my sadness and despair, and regularly spend time with people at church.
The scriptural reasoning is from Hebrews 10:24-25, "And let us consider one another for provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." That means: TRY TO FIND A BIBLE TEACHING CHURCH NEAR YOU AND ATTEND IT REGULARLY !
The Proverbs bare out that a true [believer] friend is worth more than a fleshly brother who is not. OK... friends are used by God to help people in need, etc., and that is so fine. But we must learn to accept the responsibility of depending on God and the Holy Spirit when we are alone without any human help! We charge up our 'batteries' by intense Bible study, Prayer, and association with brothers and sisters of kindred spirit-- fellow believers of the Bible and God. But caution/ Beware: Not ALL churches teach to true thrust of the Bible- God's Word! WE have to rely on our Spirit and Bible trained mind and heart-- so as to discern if a church has the Spirit anointed leaders/ pastors, who teach ONLY the pure truth, and NOT their own private personal ambitions, opinions, made up rules!! I have been to many churches where the head pastor was more interested in promoting his own wayward beliefs and opinions. And many churches make up a goofy set of rules that are NOT bible based. Let the Bible be your guild all the time, and you will steer clear of LEGALISM.
I tried to call my wife in the hospital a few times this morning, but she doesn't answer her cell phone. The hoist in my truck that hauls my power scooter in and out is broke--somewhat, so that I worry now about my own mobility. When it rains-- it pours.
Have a great day!

Reply from WI Congressman Paul Ryan.
http://tomschuckmanjournal.blogspot.com/
tschuckman@aol.com
Dear Tom:
Thank you for contacting me to share your views on Congress's continued consideration of legislation that would overhaul our nation's health care system. I appreciate you taking the time to write to me on this important issue.
As you know, for the last few months, the American people have been engaged in a critical debate on how best to improve and reform our nation's health care system. Every individual, family, and business has a vested interest in making sure that Congress gets these reforms right and as various bills have been considered by Congress, I have continued to offer substantive proposals that would expand individuals' access to care, control the increasing costs associated with our healthcare system, and do so without placing the government in control of individual health care decisions.
I understand that there are deeply held views on all sides of this issue, but even those with drastically different opinions can agree that meaningful health care reform is long overdue. That said, it is increasingly clear that Washington's trillion-dollar, two-thousand page overhauls will not only fail to address what's broken in health care - but will actually make matters worse. On November 7, 2009, I joined members of both parties in opposing H.R. 3962, which ultimately passed the House by a narrow margin of 220-215.
Following the passage of H.R. 3962 by the House, this bill was debated and amended in the Senate. On Christmas Eve, in a 60 - 39 party-line vote, the Senate approved their version of H.R. 3962. The path to secure a majority of votes in the House and the necessary 60 votes in the Senate took place largely behind close doors in Washington, and this was reflected in the hundreds of new pages of legislative text which were added to the legislation just hours before its passage in both chambers.
To be sure, the Affordable American Health Care Act of 2009 has noble aims. It attempts to greatly expand health coverage; achieve higher quality care for all Americans; and lower health care costs so these expenditures do not cause unsustainable Federal budget deficits in the future. These are goals that Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle can agree upon, but the policies in this bill would likely cause the opposite effects.
I voted against H.R. 3962 and before explaining the alternative that I put forward, I wanted to elaborate on some of the most troubling aspects of this bill:
A Government Takeover of Health Care: Rather than address the current health care market distortions created by flawed government policies, H.R. 3962 would expand Washington's heavy hand and exacerbate what's broken in health care. This is not alarmist rhetoric; the legislation proposes:
- One-Size Fits All Health Care. The bill's rating restrictions, coverage mandates, and benefit requirements will halt innovation and drive individualized health products out of the market. The bill disqualifies Health Savings Accounts, which provide more than eight million people with access to low-cost coverage. Additionally, all plans would be subject to approval by a new Health Choices Commissioner, with the authority to penalize any health plan that does not comply with the rules set by this new federal bureaucracy.
- Government Rationing. The bill empowers the federal government with even greater leverage in deciding which medical treatments are worth paying for and which are not. In an effort to contain costs of its new health care entitlement, a new "Comparative Effectiveness Research" program will inevitably impose government control over physicians' medical decisions, and cause private-sector insurers to limit coverage in line with the government's choices.
- Price Setting. While the legislation suggests providers will be able to negotiate rates with the government, there is nothing to prevent this from becoming a take-it-or-leave-it, price-setting system. Put simply, prices will be dictated to health care providers at rates determined by a cost-wary Federal Government.
Another Unsustainable Health Entitlement: Current challenges in health care are driven largely by fundamental problems in existing Federal Government entitlement programs. Rather than address our existing entitlement programs, H.R. 3962 layers on yet another Washington-based medical program - a new $1.3-trillion health entitlement that will cost an estimated $2.4 trillion when fully implemented.
- A Faulty "Self-Sustaining" Public Plan. The bill's government-run, public health insurance program is intended to be financed by premiums from beneficiaries. As noted by the Congressional Budget Office [CBO], however, the public plan is expected to charge higher premiums than private health insurance - which Congress is unlikely to allow, and which appears to contradict the ostensible goal of boosting "competition" to "keep private insurers honest."
- Driving States Deeper Into the Red. Rather than make quality health care more affordable, H.R. 3962 attempts to cover the uninsured by adding them to ever expansive government-run programs. The dramatic expansion of Medicaid would force cash-strapped States to spend an additional $34 billion over the next 10 years, beyond the unsustainable Medicaid burdens States already face.
Heavy Taxes and Fees on Individuals and Businesses. The massive expansion of the government's role in the delivery of health care relies heavily on a number of mandates and tax penalties. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that $729.5 billion in new taxes would hit individuals and employers. Among those tax increases are:
- A total of $460.5 billion in job-killing small-business surtaxes (section 551).
- Another $135 billion in employer mandates, including the "play-or-pay" scheme punishing even small companies that cannot provide group health insurance (sections 511-512).
- An additional $33 billion in individual mandates - including an unprecedented Washington requirement that everyone must buy health insurance or be subject to Federal penalties (section 501).
It is critical to point out that H.R. 3962 is not the only way to tackle this issue. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike continue to offer substantive alternatives - proving that we can have universal access to health coverage in America without the government taking it over, without trillions in new taxes, spending, and debt. For instance, the Patients' Choice Act, which I introduced earlier in the 111th Congress, aims to fix what is broken in our health care system without breaking what is working. It would address the major problems of our health care system by focusing on a few core concepts:
Emphasize Prevention - Five preventable chronic conditions consume 75% of our health spending and cause two-thirds of American deaths. Investing in prevention will lower long-term costs and ensure Americans live longer and happier lives.
Create a Market that Works for Patients- The status quo regulation of the insurance market does not provide incentives for insurance companies to cover chronically sick patients and many sick patients are unable to afford premiums. Businesses must play by transparent rules and compete for patients' business. The market must work for every patient every time. Patients should have convenient and affordable options, and they should have control of those options. Doctors, hospitals, and nurses should be more involved in patient-centered care.
Guarantee Choice of Coverage Options- Patients should be able to choose from a variety of private insurance plans. The federal government would run a health care system?"or a public plan option?"with the compassion of the IRS, the efficiency of the post office, and the incompetence of Katrina. We cannot entrust the federal government to deliver high quality health care to every American. All Americans have a right to personalized and individual health care that will meet their unique needs.
Insist on Fairness for Every Patient- Patients already in government programs deserve a human approach to their health benefits and fewer bureaucratic barriers. Individuals struggling to purchase their own health insurance deserve the same tax breaks as Americans working in Fortune 500 Companies. Medicare beneficiaries deserve delivery choice when selecting between health benefits.
Fairly Compensate Patient Injuries- Patients should have the right to fair legal representation and fair compensation for tragic, inexcusable mistakes in the health care field. However, today's legal system serves the self-interest of personal injury lawyers, drives up costs, and delays justice. Science driven and results-oriented change is needed today.
Restore Accountability to Government Programs- The children covered under government health care programs today will face future tax increases in order to pay the $36 trillion unfunded liabilities in the Medicare program alone. Medicaid fraud and mismanagement waste at least $32.7 billion in taxpayer dollars every year. Reforms must bring about efficiency, transparency, and results. Failure to act now will jeopardize our nation's long-term fiscal security.
Include Ideas from Governors and States- Rather than one-size-fits all Washington mandates, a comprehensive solution to health reform must include governors, state legislatures, and every American citizen.
In many ways, the Patients' Choice Act shows that while there is division on how to solve the problems in our health care system; there is also agreement on certain reforms that should be enacted. We should look to end the practice of discriminating based on pre-existing conditions or increasing rates of insurance when individuals need it. We can and should reduce the waste, fraud, and abuse associated with Medicare and other government programs. But, we can make these improvements without driving our nation further into debt and without making government the primary actor in health care decisions.
As the New Year has commenced, Congressional leaders and the President have rightly recognized that although the American people want drastic changes to how they receive and purchase health care, they do not want H.R. 3962 to become law. Despite having passed legislation in both the House and the Senate, the President has been unable to reconcile the differences between the bills and Congressional Leadership is now determining whether to use the difficult budget reconciliation process to move H.R. 3962 or to return to the drawing board. Moving forward, I am hopeful that the President and the Majority will reconsider the heavy-handed approach that they have used to muscle this bill through Congress and will remain open to alternative solutions, such as the Patients' Choice Act.
Again, I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on this critical debate and as Congress considers this legislation further, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind. If I can be of additional assistance to you regarding this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am always happy to respond and be of service to you.
