Important Message from Carolyn.

Tom's Journal.

Important message from my friend, Carolyn, in Florida:

I urge you, if you haven't already, to contact your State Congressmen RIGHT NOW to tell them to vote NO on the cap and trade bill coming on Friday. All this media party blitz about health care and other stuff is just to take people's attention away from the dangerous bill to be passed on Friday! We can NOT let this pass! If it does, we can expect higher home electric bills, and for my friends in the north, that means winter will be brutal for you! As well as gas prices sky rocketing! I know most folks are not able to afford any more expenses right now~
Here's what I wrote to Florida Congressman Mack a few minutes ago. Please either e mail, call or both, all your reps tomorrow!!
Dear Congressman Mack, I am writing this e mail a little late, as the proposal to vote on Friday, 2 says from now, for the passage of H.R. 2454, American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 was only today brought to many of our attentions.
I hope sir, that you will vote NO on this bill, and please urge fellow congress members to vote No as well.
There has been much lately in our government which has passed items which have and will continue to effect my family. Sir, you know well how badly some of Florida's jobs have taken a beating, particularly in the construction industry. My husband has worked hard in many areas of construction his whole life, taking after his father who helped build projects such as the Franklin Locks and many of the bridges on Alligator Alley. My husband has been out of work since January.
I have been a stay at home, home schooling mom with our son, so we have not had an income for 6 months now, and for much of last year we were at about 3/4 to 1/2 of his income.
I am not complaining, as I know such things happen, and thankfully, we saved much of what he earned during the "boom" years, living a very simple life. Some of our savings had to replace things we lost during Charlie, Wilma and a forest fire which came through our road 2 years ago, but still by the Grace of God, we have been able to overcome many of the changes.
I am very concerned, however, with the chance that this fraudulent bill will pass if no one speaks up before it is introduced. Mr. Mack, I am afraid the passage of this bill will be the final thing that buries our family. We do not use a lot of electricity, in fact, we don't have air conditioning, and I line dry our clothes. Our main power is used for this computer and our household appliances. My car has been downsized, but still is expensive to fill up, as even 30 dollars a pop is a lot to us right now. If this so called cap and trade bill passes, I will no longer be able to afford to drive often, and as we live out in the country, this is a hard thing to face. I have family members who depend on my being able to drive. My husband may hopefully find a job soon, but if gas prices go up (and they will with this bill) he will not be able to afford to go to work. If our electric bill goes up (and it will with this bill) well, it will be back to the pioneer days for us.
Sir, I am sorry this is so long, and I am sure you get many similar stories, but I just wanted to share a little of our own life. I need people to understand what kind of damage such a bill would do, not only to my family, but millions of other hard working and elderly folks.
Please sir, vote NO this Friday.
God Bless you and thank you so much for your time.
Sincerely,
Carolyn

“Jesus does not say, ‘Come to me, all you who have learned how to concentrate in prayer, whose minds no longer wander, and I will give you rest.’ No, Jesus opens his arms to his needy children and says, ‘Come to me, all who are weary and heaven-laden, and I will give you rest.’

The criteria for coming to Jesus is messiness. Come overwhelmed with life. Come with your wandering mind. Come messy.”

onservatism Won't Save America
By Jan Markell

Can we take our government back in 2010 or 2012 and in like manner then take America back? That is what the majority of conservative talk show hosts keep proclaiming. I enjoy and learn a great deal from them but they are missing the mark. Their interpretation of "saving America" is most often turning more blue states into red states! They don't understand that changing America's political parties is not enough to turn the nasty tide. They are missing the root of the problem.

At the root of the troubling issues in America is the clash of worldviews and that goes well beyond conservatism and liberalism. I have emphasized the worldview issue on air recently, from my conversation with Dr. Ron Carlson on May 30 right through June 6 programming with Brannon Howse and Dr. David Noebel. Our nation's capitol is run by the worldview of secular humanists and that comes with a lot of baggage! Secular humanists occupy both sides of the aisle. There are also those in leadership with a biblical worldview, but we need many more because at present they are drowned out by the noise of the humanists.

A secular humanist believes he or she is a god and does not need the true God. He believes man is essentially good. That encourages the "appease disease." In other words, appease our worst enemies and treat them as our good friends, because in the end they will love us as we are all essentially good. This is why we see our leaders reaching out to the most vile and corrupt regimes (and abandoning longtime friends). The secular humanist would bitterly denounce the Bible verse that says, "The heart is deceitful and wicked above all things; who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9) And don't think that conservatives can't have a secular humanist worldview. It's an equal opportunity deceiver.

The biblical worldview says that we are a unique creation formed by a living God. But the humanist would suggest that our origin is from pond scum, apes, or monkeys. Because of this, the teaching in our public schools for decades has been that man is an accident caused by some slime billions of years ago. How tragic! The result is a seared conscience, indifference about life, and a philosophy that leans to the far left. That is why dictators can wipe out tens of millions and not bat an eyelash.

Installing more conservatives in government in 2010 or 2012 will not deal with today's rage against God, the new atheism, and the issues of a post-Christian America. Many of the commentators keep repeating that we must find a 21st century Ronald Reagan, but that will not turn this country around. Because God has been ripped from nearly every fabric of American life, even if political conservatives won every election in 2010 and 2012, without an American "heart change," our country will not recover.

It is worldview and not politics that determine everything, including our final destiny. God is looking for renewed hearts and not renewed ballot boxes.

If every state were a red state, our State Department would still never acknowledge that man is by nature sinful and needs a Savior.

Where do we begin to cause a turnaround in America? How about with our churches? A nation is only as strong as her churches are strong. Most of our churches will not preach on God's wrath and judgment. They will tell you God is all about love because that makes people come back the next week. Most of our churches -- thankfully not all -- are preaching a weak gospel that will never save souls! Many of our pulpits are filled with unsaved preachers who focus on a social gospel. When looking for pagans for whom to pray, don't forget some of our churches that have strayed and are no longer recognizable. They have smooth-talking preachers who tell stories and share fill-in-the-blank sermons.

Throw away the maps of the blue and red states. They are irrelevant. Listen to the talk show hosts for information and entertainment but remember that their solutions are light years away from the root of America's problems. They will tell you that their favorite potential political candidate for the presidency has the answers and America will shine as a bright light again, prosperity will return, and all will be well. As articulate, informative, and entertaining as they are, most of them haven't got a clue about what America really needs.

That is why they sound frustrated and perplexed. They do not yet understand that man's futile efforts at government won't ever properly work. They do not comprehend Isaiah 9:6-7: "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore."
Then, and only then, will government work.

Good News.

Here is some very good news forwarded to me from a friend. Please share:

Try to remember this, EVERY TIME you have to talk to a customer service representative and you cannot understand them. I did not know that we could do this. Help bring jobs back to the U.S.A. Ask for an American!
************************************************************

How to save some American jobs and we can help!

Hi Everyone,
I want to share with you some great information that I found out purely by accident. I believe it can also save and create jobs in America while giving people better customer service.

So how many times have you called a companies service phone line and found that the rep. can barely speak English? Once with a major mortgage company it was so bad I demanded to speak with someone who spoke English. Right at that moment I broke the code, the secret password for customer service.

Come to find out that every American company using overseas operators must transfer you to an American rep. by saying.......
" I want to speak to a representative in America ".
(Don't take no for an answer on this)

This was confirmed by the American rep. that they must transfer you after that request. I've tried it on a half a dozen major companies including cable, bank, phone and mortgage companies. It works every time and I
actually get my issues taken care of.

Ocean - Put Your hand in the hand

The church picnic turned out very well yesterday- Saturday- with the temperature about 85 degrees F., and we met some nice people for my wife to contact and get to know better-- the food was great too.
I think we stayed for about 2 hours and then we were expecting my son to visit us from Milwaukee-- and Sharon cannot handle too much hot, humid weather, and so we left somewhat early. Hundreds of people attended that great church picnic and the picnic staff was very professional, kind and helpful to us. They are self-sacrificing to go that extra mile and show consideration for us all.

Today's Bible study at church was also great and we again met some new people who joined our group as we studied from the book of Luke, chapter 5 today. I made a comment about tax collectors in Jesus' day, how crooked they were in that they were very hated in the first century AD-- who were Jews appointed by the Romans who would go beyond the 'Rule of the Law' to defraud and coerce more money and merchandise from the Jewish peoples. The Pharisees [ruling religious class] pointed at Jesus for sitting and eating/ drinking with Sinners and the Tax Collectors-- but Jesus said, 'The healthy people have no need for a physician...'
I got the email addresses of 2 guys whom I will send a copy of this Blog post. When we got home today, I grilled some meat in the back yard for my wife and I as we kicked back for the afternoon. The heavy rains have helped the garden and the weeds that I need to hoe, hoe, hoe, as soon as the Milwaukee VA injects both my knees for acute bone on bone arthritis-- and I much welcome the injections... lol. The VA Nurse Practitioner is a real Pro and nice guy!!

I hope that I have not stepped on too many toes these past few weeks, but I suppose things might seem "anti-climatic" because Sharon is home now and life goes on. I feel guilty too from getting too lax and lazy in my regular prayers and supplications to the Lord... now that things seem to be more normal in the dog days of Summer. I also think that many of us [even Christians] are getting our senses and brains dulled by the every day loss and breakdown of Big Gov't and the U.S. Constitution and death to Morality. The nature of things now days seem to actually be "normal" as if it's always been that way, unfortunately, just as the days of ancient Sodom and Gomorrah. [Like boiling the frog]
Like I said before, Satan's rotten world of corruption has seeped into the Church so that too many of us act, think and operate like the UNBELIEVERS OUTSIDE OF THE CHURCH! We fail to keep our minds sharp.

We want to be on God's side and balanced, so the best way to go is to stay very close to Jesus and study the Bible when we at home and with our spouses/ children. I know how hard it seems to "walk the walk" instead of just 'talking the talk.' I made a few mistakes in my life of waiting for something big to happen-- and then missing that event because of something like a 'pressing personal necessity/ reason' happened. And it seems that every time I let my guard down, something bad happens to me. So I have the problem of being 'hyper alert' for fear of missing an important event. Some of this stuff is confidential, so that I may sound like a dog chasing his tail by not speaking specifically and detailed. Sorry, folks. Most of my dear readers are descent, kind, honest respectful people-- but there are a few resentful trouble makers lurking in the bushes who don't have a life... LOL, so I must guard my tongue.

I also learned lately that I should NOT write people off, even some hard hearted, myopic, brain dead extended family members-- and we should even preach and share the Gospel to our enemies. Yes! It's very hard for me to say that even Mr. Obama MIGHT have a change of heart, and that is why we "pray for the king" according to scripture. I have my own personal opinions about that fellow that I shall keep to myself...for now. That was a hard pill to swallow, but we cannot pick and choose the biblical laws we like to obey and follow. Being a Christian means being a good soldier-- and that means following ALL LAWFUL ORDERS of Jesus Christ just as He took ALL the Bible seriously. What would the Drill Sargent say if you refused to learn how to fire your weapon on the range or learn the Spirit of Bayonet?? Or what would my college welding instructor say if I told him that I didn't want to learn Mig and Tig ??

I have many errands to do and people to call on Monday morning, and Oxygen bottles for my wife and I, so I am going to bed early again. I let my wife have more freedom and she can come to bed when ever she likes, of course. I bought her 2 cream puffs and more flesh strawberries today. I am just so glad she is here with me at home and I like to show my appreciation for her by buying special things for her. She helps me a lot at home too.
Let me say hello to a good buddy of mine at church, Cliff S, who is at our church bible study Sunday mornings, etc.

Obama-care horror story.

The Obamacare horror story you won't hear
Michelle Malkin - Syndicated Columnist - 6/19/2009 7:20:00 AMBookmark and Share

Michelle MalkinThe White House, Democrats and MoveOn liberals are spreading healthcare sob stories to sell a government takeover. But there's one healthcare policy nightmare you won't hear the Obamas hyping. It's a tale of poor minority patient-dumping in Chicago -- with first lady Michelle Obama's fingerprints all over it.

Both Republican Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa and Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush of Illinois have raised red flags about the outsourcing program run by the University of Chicago Medical Center. The hospital has nonprofit status and receives lucrative tax breaks in exchange for providing charity care.

Yet, in fiscal year 2007, when Mrs. Obama was employed there, it spent a measly $10 million on charity care for the poor -- 1.3 percent of its total hospital expenses, according to an analysis performed for The Washington Post by the nonpartisan Center for Tax and Budget Accountability. The figure is below the 2.1 percent average for nonprofit hospitals in surrounding Cook County.

Rep. Rush called for a House investigation last week in response to months of patient-dumping complaints, noting: "Congress has a duty to expend its power to mitigate and prevent this despicable practice from continuing in centers that receive federal funds."

Don't expect the president to support a probe. While a top executive at the hospital, Mrs. Obama helped engineer the plan to offload low-income patients with non-urgent health needs. Under the Orwellian banner of an "Urban Health Initiative," Mrs. Obama sold the scheme to outsource low-income care to other facilities as a way to "dramatically improve healthcare for thousands of South Side residents."

In truth, it was old-fashioned cost-cutting and favor-trading repackaged as minority aid. Clearing out the poor freed up room for insured (i.e., more lucrative) patients. If a Republican had proposed the very same program and recruited black civic leaders to front it, Michelle Obama and her grievance-mongering friends would be screaming "RAAAAAAAAACISM!" at the top of their lungs.

Joe Stephens of The Washington Post wrote, "To ensure community support, Michelle Obama and others in late 2006 recommended that the hospital hire the firm of David Axelrod, who a few months later became the chief strategist for Barack Obama's presidential campaign. Axelrod's firm (ASK Public Strategies) recommended an aggressive promotional effort modeled on a political campaign -- appoint a campaign manager, conduct focus groups, target messages to specific constituencies, then recruit religious leaders and other third-party 'validators.' They, in turn, would write and submit opinion pieces to Chicago publications."

Some healthcare experts saw through Mrs. Obama and PR man Axelrod -- yes, the same Axelrod who is now President Obama's senior adviser. But the University of Chicago Medical Center hired ASK Public Strategies to promote Mrs. Obama's initiative. Axelrod had the blessing of Chicago political guru Valerie Jarrett -- now a White House senior adviser.

Axelrod's great contribution: re-branding! His firm recommended renaming the initiative after "internal and external respondents expressed the opinion that the word 'urban' is code for 'black' or 'black and poor.' ...Based on the research, consideration should be given to re-branding the initiative." Axelrod and the Obama campaign refused to disclose how much his firm received for its genius re-branding services.

In February 2009, outrage in the Obamas' community exploded upon learning that a young boy covered by Medicaid had been turned away from the University of Chicago Medical Center. Dontae Adams' mother, Angela, had sought emergency treatment for him after a pit bull tore off his upper lip. Mrs. Obama's hospital gave the boy a tetanus shot, antibiotics and Tylenol, and shoved him out the door. The mother and son took an hour-long bus ride to another hospital for surgery.

I'll guarantee you this: You'll never see the Adams family featured at an Obama policy summit or seated next to the first lady at a joint session of Congress to illustrate the failures of the healthcare system.

Following the Adams incident, the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) blasted Mrs. Obama and Axelrod's grand plan. The group released a statement expressing "grave concerns that the University of Chicago's policy toward emergency patients is dangerously close to 'patient dumping,' a practice made illegal by the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA)" -- signed by President Reagan, by the way -- "and reflected an effort to 'cherry pick' wealthy patients over poor."

Rewarding political cronies at the expense of the poor while posing as guardians of the downtrodden? Welcome to Obamacare.

That's right folks! My record shows that I actually encourage honest comments from readers -- but ALL I ASK IS THAT PEOPLE KINDLY DISPLAY SOME WAY TO GET BACK TO THEM EITHER BY RIGHTFUL BLOG ADDRESS OR A CORRECT, TRUE EMAIL ADDRESS. It's individuals like the 'guy' above who has a fictitious Blog with 'no way' to really contact him -- nor does he have the courage or decency to give his proper name, and he loves to harass, degrade, and ambush from the bushes like a monkey-- and has bothered some of my Blog friends too. I am putting this turkey up for all to see exactly what I was talking about a few posts ago when I just asked for commentors to plainly state their REAL names and REAL addresses! It's not fair that they come and go like a thief in the night and shoot people down-- without identifying themselves-- and I refuse to post and dignify their BS comments! I don't like cowards and neither does the Lord [Rev. 21: 8].
If you try to check out/ click on ANY of his bogus "links" you will find out exactly what I mean. He's a fake, a fraud and a bum, and the immature baby left 18 comments in a row in my email box today that were all time consuming trash! He is a waste of my time, and I doubt if you will ever hear from him or about him again.

I welcome your personal comments about this loser. Thank you.
