Friends:
I don't know if I told you about this past Sunday morning at FAMILY BAPTIST CHURCH, near Iron Mountain, MI 49801 [Actually the 'sister city' of Kingsford.]., and we had a guest speaker, who made a few good points. After quoting/ reading one scripture, he came upon the term, "but," and really got into it by stressing that so many terrible, evil things happen to humankind, especially today, with ISIS, murder, genocide and prolonged war..... BUT, there is a silver lining in that dark cloud in that God always makes 'a way out' -- some sort of salvation or escape !
This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report,' the same is true. The KJV Bible already tells us that more horrible things will before mankind, as we slip from bad to worse, all ending in the great war of Armageddon @ Rev. 16:16, as I mention often enough. BUT, but, before all that happens, God has made another way out BEFORE the stink hits the fan, something we call The Rapture ! It is NOT thru human hands or minds that this miracle will come about, but only thru God Almighty, the great Holy God of the KJV Bible !! And only true Believers of Jesus Christ, who are in a real relationship with Him will get beamed up [sorry for the pun... lol.]. This is why it's so important to take/ MAKE the time to sit down and study the bible well enough to teach it to others... and share this truth and Gospel of Jesus Christ with as many others as we possibly can, and you don't have to have a 'sheep skin' from some 'ministry school !' The Holy Spirit gives you / us everything we need to share the Word with others.
I had a long phone conversation with an old friend of mine in Alabama today, named Steve B., and he quoted a fine scripture for me to make a point: Proverbs 29:25, "The fear of man bringeth a snare: but who so putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe." The point is: Many people who first learn the Gospel and God's Plan of Salvation are happy, but they say that they don't "feel qualified" to talk to others about what they just found out and learned. I say [and so does the bible] that it is the Holy Spirit that clicks in our minds and heart at the right time, with the right words, as Jesus even promised His own apostles and followers, after he left the earth! Before you even sit down to read and study the KJV Bible [ALL OF THE SO-CALLED MODERN BIBLES ARE MOSTLY ALL MESSED UP IN MANY WAYS!] --- Pray and ask the Lord to help you study and REMEMBER these things! Like I said, if a new person just read the 2 books of: John, and Romans, he/ she will get a pretty good understanding of the Gospel. Just do it. Some of us have to re-read books a 2nd or 3rd time to make it all come together and make better sense, but it's worth it. I have been doing this very thing for many years, and I STILL keep learning, and we shall continue learning so many things in heaven too.
BTW, I don't have a perfect life, nor a perfect marriage [but I wish I did, and still work hard at it... smile.], nor will I --- this side of heaven. But Friends: We have to get to heaven FIRST! I guess I might be a 'News Junky' and read 4-5 hours a day, the local News paper, the InterNet, emails and many articles, besides the bible. I even write 'snail mail letters' with pen and paper, or have it printed off with my printer and PC. I always carry a few Bible Tracts, Inc., in my wallet, and use "Chick Tracts [in the form of a comic book style, that works well too], to people, every day that I meet, where ever I go, and talk to many people, and more so in the other more MILD months of the year. This has been a very cold, and snowy year for us U.P. here, across the Northern border of Wisconsin, and not too far from Canada! But after taking a short, "shoe string vacation" to see my aged, most beloved Mom, brother and friends in the Kenosha, WI., area, I feel very blessed to be living so far North !! The big cities are just full of violent crime, and mean spirited, in a rush, people, and it seems that the devil has really moved in to stay ! Just my humble opinion, folks.
Those of you who read this modest, humble column/ post, who are already "Saved" --who already are fully committed to our Lord, and ready to die for Him, if we must, are very dear to me, and I too need YOUR encouragement and prayers. Please pray for my good pastor, Kevin Sullivan, too. Our church is also hosting a special Sportsman Seminar Jamboree, this Saturday in the Kingsford area, in one of the local schools. Friends, I may have passed the word too about the month of March--2015, could possibly be when our American dollar MIGHT fold and lose much of it's value. If this doesn't happen [and, worse, if it DOES happen...] I will lose some money, because I have a bet with my wife about that happening, or lack of it... lol. Well, one way or another, we [and the whole world] are living on borrowed time, and I feel that our country is already bankrupt, and unable to pay our national debts. We owe Germany TONS OF GOLD, and 'for some reason, cannot or will not pay them what we stored for them.... duh' Now that's scary. I know what I am doing, in my own mind and heart, might help me and mine, but just the same we will be hurting when this house of cards folds. You see, our nation is stretched out on a limb in so many different ways, and so is Europe with their currency too. I am afraid to give out my advice on this humble blog post, but I know that common sense is the best sense. And then, like I said, those of us who are tight with the Lord also know that these very things WOULD HAPPEN, sooner rather than latter. God has to pull the plug some day, and His Saints and worshipers are being killed and butchered RIGHT NOW AS WE SPEAK!! And if folks are "Left Behind" after the Rapture, please remember one thing: if, once you 'take the Mark' you can never, ever be redeemed in any way, shape or manner. In fact, after the Rapture, the Holy Spirit will be taken away too. If you think that things are bad now.... I would not want to be around, or Left Behind ! We also know that the majority of human on earth now will NOT be Saved, but perhaps Millions, but not Billions, IMHO. And all this time Jesus has been busy building this HUGE city in the heavens for us, Saved Christians, who are fearless and unashamed to bear His holy name. Many are now dying for Him, and maybe some of us will die too, if need be. Better to GET that mentality.... and 'life on earth is like a vapor', according to James.
Please read and share the article below. Thanks.
Respectfully, In His Service,
Tom

This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'
To understand God's plan for the world, it is vital to understand what, at first, may seem like a dry subject - covenants. In the Bible, God makes two kinds of covenants with human beings - conditional and unconditional. A conditional covenant is predicated on God saying to man, "If you will." An unconditional covenant is predicated on God saying to man, "I will." Conditional covenants are like the contracts we humans make among ourselves. "If you give me a certain amount of money, then I will give you a car." God makes conditional covenants, too. He made one with Israel through Moses. In Exodus 19, He said, "If you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation." Did they obey His voice and keep His covenant? No. God offered them a deal, but they didn't fulfill their part of the bargain. Does God then have to fulfill His part? No. A conditional covenant means, "If you do this, then I'll do that." But God also made unconditional covenants. In an unconditional covenant, God simply says, "I will." Period. Once such a covenant goes into effect, there are no conditions that have to be fulfilled by human beings. God's covenant with Abraham - what theologians call "The Abrahamic Covenant" - is an unconditional covenant. Through the years God reiterates and expands it, but He never changes the unconditional nature of it. Indeed, He cannot change it or He would be a liar and the Bible says in Titus 1:2 and elsewhere, "God... cannot lie." To add other conditions later would be like moving the goal posts just as the football team is about to score a touchdown. It wouldn't be honest. God is not tricky. He's trustworthy. Once the covenant went into effect, nothing could change it. Later, God would reiterate the covenant and expand on it, but He never changed the nature of it, nor did He add conditions to it. Those who claim He did, have a fundamental problem. They're saying that God lied. Psalm 105 says, "He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac. And then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, 'To you will I give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance.'" This verse calls it a "covenant forever" and "an everlasting covenant." If it depended on frail human beings, the Word of God could not call it "everlasting" because somewhere along the line human beings fail, as Israel proved again and again. The Abrahamic Covenant is one of the great dividing lines of scripture. Disbelieving it won't change God's Word, but it will change a person in profound ways. Among other things, he won't understand what's going on in the world. Because this is an unconditional covenant, it cannot end. It remains in effect today and forever. That makes it fundamental to Bible prophecy. Whatever else happens, you can bet the farm that God will keep His covenant with Abraham. So if you want to look into the future, or have a better understanding of the present, look at the things God promised to Abraham. He expressed them in a series of direct and implied "I will" statements. "I will make you a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. I will make you a blessing. I will bless those who bless you. I will curse those who curse you. Through you, I will bless all the families of the earth." Romans 11:1 succinctly asks and answers the most pertinent point. "Has God cast away His people? Certainly not!" That's just one of many New Testament passages refuting "replacement theology" and affirming that God's covenant with Abraham is still in effect. Not only does this covenant help us understand what's happening in the Middle East right now, it is foundational to the central meaning of all the Bible's teaching - from the identity and purpose of Jesus, to "salvation by faith alone," to Christ's coming to set up a literal thousand year kingdom on earth, to Christ's secretly snatching up all believers to heaven before the great Tribulation begins.
