Encouragement amidst Troubled Times.

Hello Friends,
Ahhh,  today is "Good Friday," and I have so much to be thankful for, but especially that fact that I am a child of God, much loved and PROTECTED by my Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, who not only died a horrible death for me,  but for every person on earth !   But following Him as our prime exemplar,  is a bit like walking thru a nice orchard full of fruit trees....  because we MUST reach up and PICK THE FRUIT and eat it, to get all the great, healthy benefits!  I know it seems like I am just preaching,  'Common Sense,' and I am,  but people are so deceived by the dirty old devil, and/ or  just plain lazy, now, more than ever.   And the common, every day pressures  are in our face every News cycle, the coming Economic Meltdown or the American Dollar $$$,  along  with terrorism and murder every day, with few people really doing anything about it, so it seems, are all seriously robbing many of us of JOY !  That JOY is one of the nine "Fruits of the Spirit,"  --found in Galatians 5: 22.
I think that for the next few days, we all ought to just  take a break from our  'rat race of life,'  stand still, and PONDER what Jesus' sacrifice on the cross means to all of us.   His harsh death and most glorious resurrection is the key to salvation and everlasting life in a super fine, good, safe place called heaven.  We all have two choices in life... and will all live forever,   in one place, or another.  Hell is NOT an option, friends.  Hell is FOREVER... just as Heaven is FOREVER !!   And those goofy, sad, willfully ignorant,  people who are not Raptured up when Jesus comes back,  will ponder the question:  "Why didn't I MAKE the time to crack open that grand Book, the KJV Bible," [or any other translation of the Bible...] and read the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and then get into a good relationship with Him ? ?   Pray first, and then  just read one --- or all of the Gospel accounts,  Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John,  and the book of Romans, to get the real picture of the life and death of Jesus Christ.  Then you will know for sure what it's all about, and be light years ahead of millions of other folks who just could not spare a few hours in their day to do just that.  They will be missing out  on the free gift of Salvation and union with the Lord Jesus ... and what a sad, poor, pity.  We shall all face our Judge some day and account for all the stupid, wasted hours of watching TV or puttering around on selfish hobbles, activities and pursuits,  while also sticking our heads in the sand like some 'big bird' instead of "MAKING THE TIME" to get close to the Lord Jesus, and reading God's Word !   So.... why be a 'bird brain,'  ---LOL ?  When we die, we will have probably used about 2% of our brains, and then spend the rest of our lives in eternity -- in one place or the other.   That is a long time, friends!   And, Hey,  we all have selfish tendencies, inherited from our first parents, Adam and Eve.  {Not Adam and Steve... LOL}  What the world promotes now as JUST another alternative life style, and even teaches that crap in grade schools to our children is now having disastrous results !!  Shame on the churches for not standing up for GOD'S WORD, the KJV  BIBLE !   And,  BTW,  I just ordered another 2 extra, large print, DEFINED KJV BIBLES from that good publishing company:  biblefortoday.org     --Please check it out, today !  Nice, leather bound, easy to read, bibles for a reasonable price, that helps a person understand the older, archaic, but PURE rendition of the KJV.
As I have said so many times,  I could have easily been killed so many times when I was a young 19 year old Soldier in Vietnam:  68-70,  helicopter door gunner, in harm's way, every single day for those 2 long years,  and many times over after I got back from that war, in various nasty truck and motorcycle accidents, also had many welding  jobs that were dangerous, high off the ground, etc.     And if could have landed in Hell, forever !!     But for  some reason, God loved me so much that he spared my life and protected me so many times for some reason.  I became a "tool" in the hands of the Master, Jesus Christ, even though I didn't live a good, perfect life,  I loved the Bible and studied it often all thru the years and became a servant of Jesus, contacting so many people and giving away good, Bibles and bible tracts, emails, blog postings, related to Salvation from God, through Jesus Christ.  The H.S. [Holy Spirit] has, of course, helped me all the way, doing great things and helped me lead many others to the Lord and Salvation.   I am nothing special, and even get in some foul, silly, stupid,  foolish moods and have hurt some people in my selfish, crazy life through the years.  I am very sorry for all of that, and please forgive me if I have stepped on your toes or hurt you in some way.   We will not be perfect until we get to heaven.... sorry, folks.  But in the mean time, we can prepare ourselves and help others !
Yes, this is the time of year for all so-called Christians to stop and focus on what the Lord has done for us.  Not make us wealthy and "happy,"   but something far better...  life in Paradise, brothers and sisters, in heaven.   The Rapture could come at any time !   Help yourselves and others, by sharing this timely message that I just posted on my humble blog:  TOM'S JOURNAL.

Remember:  "Iron sharpens Iron."  --Proverbs 27: 17.

And,  "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow For what is your life?  It is even a vapour, tha appeareth for a little time, and then vanishish away."  ---James 4: 14.

Have a great day!

Encouragement amidst troubled times

I have been receiving a lot of comments lately from Daily Jot readers. Many have been very encouraging. Others are appalled at the state of affairs in our nation and around the world. Still some are angry and do not want to admit the obvious that is before them. Sometimes it is a good idea to take a step back, take a deep breath, and look at the world from a different angle. In starting the Daily Jot back in January of 2002, I sensed the Lord wanted a brief testimony of daily events that could equip and encourage people to share the Good News. Most of the Daily Jot readers, especially those who have been reading a while, "get it." But I want to encourage all readers to keep things in perspective.

The Bible is about Jesus Christ and what he did to bring salvation to a fallen world. There are many examples of how we are to live our lives and how we are to treat others. A good friend of mine says "You reap what you sow, more than what you sow, later than you sow." He's got a great point. It really is a law of God. So if you read the Jot and use it to share a Biblical perspective by discussing a current event, then you have planted a seed. Unlike seeds that you plant in a garden, you may never see the growth of that seed, but God's word does not return void. Be ecouraged to share what is in the Daily Jot with others--either verbally, or via email, or any other way that you see fit.

The Daily Jot is NOT intended to bring you distress or sorrow or fear. As Christians, we are often mocked for saying that we are living in the end times. They say that every generation thinks that. But the fact of the matter is that every day brings us closer to the Biblical end times. Certainly, there are many prophetic indicators that tell us we are getting closer and closer to the return of Christ the Messiah. How wonderful is that? We know from scripture that things are going to get worse the closer we get. But we are encouraged in Ephesians 6:13, "Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

The Daily Jot also is intended to rally folks to do the right thing. Romans 12:21 says "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." Our country long has been a beacon of Christian hope to the rest of the world. I know. I have traveled quite a bit and hear what people say. We have a legal say in how things are done in our country. But because we have diverted our attention away from God and from His precepts of good citizenship, our beacon is dimming. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3 that he has seen travail of the labors of men. "I know there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice and to do good in his life.  And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God." Don't let these troubled times get you down. Find joy in Christ's labors.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
