Obama Designates National Monument of Sodom and Gomorrah
Fifty years ago, sodomy was outlawed by many cities and states. America still had a Christian foundation and knew that sodomy and other forms of homosexuality were an abominable sin according to God. In some areas of the country, police would regularly raid gathering places of gay men and arrest them for their crimes of sodomy.
Such was the practice in New York City, where police regularly raided gay and lesbian bars and hangouts. On June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn at 1:20am. Eight members of the NYPD entered the Stonewall Inn where nearly 200 homosexual patrons had collected. Police arrested some and ordered the rest to disperse and go home. Instead of dispersing, the homosexuals gathered just outside the inn.
Soon, nearly 150 gays, lesbians and others had gathered outside the Stonewall Inn. When the first police wagon arrived to transport those arrested to jail, things quickly escalated. A handcuffed lesbian began to resist being placed in the police wagon. In the scuffle, a police officer hit the lesbian in the head with his billy club. When one of the police officers picked up the lesbian to put her in the police wagon, the crowd, which had swelled to about 600 people, reacted.
Homosexuals and onlookers attacked the police wagon and tried to turn it over. They began hurling objects including beer bottles, rocks, bricks and garbage cans, at the police. The ten police officers, the original 8 and two with the patrol wagon, realized they were greatly outnumbered, so they took refuge in the Stonewall Inn.
Eventually, the New York City Tactical Police Force arrived on the scene and began arresting everyone they could. By 4am, the street outside the Stonewall Inn had been cleared and the officers trapped inside were freed.
The aftermath left virtually everything inside the Stonewall Inn damaged or destroyed. Thirteen people were arrested, four police officers and a number of protesters had been injured and needed medical treatment or hospitalization.
News of what happened at the Stonewall Inn quickly spread throughout the Greenwich Village. The next night, thousands of people showed up outside the Stonewall Inn and surrounding area to protest what had taken place earlier. Fires were set in garbage cans and rioters and police clashed again. Over 100 New York City police officers responded in an attempt to restore order. By 4am, the streets had finally been cleared.
Later that morning, a thousand protesters once again gathered on the streets outside the Stonewall Inn. This time it escalated into looting neighboring businesses. Police arrived and another battle ensured, resulting in the arrest of 5 people.
The incidents at the Stonewall Inn in New York City has since become the rallying point of gay rights. Many LGBT groups still commemorate June 28, 1969 as the start of the modern gay rights movement.
This week, Barack Obama showed his true colors by declaring the site of the Stonewall Inn as a national monument. The Stonewall National Monument will now preserve the 7.7 acre Christopher Park in Greenwich Village. Welcome to America’s first official temple to worship modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.
God utterly destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, along with all the people living there, because of their homosexuality and sexual perverseness. When ancient Rome became the same way, embracing sexual promiscuity and homosexuality, God’s wrath took them down and they were no longer the great power they once had been.
Romans 1:18-32 tells us about God’s judgement on a nation and people, because of their acceptance and endorsement of homosexuality. Read this in sections and comprehend what the Apostle Paul is telling us:

[v. 18-23] [Emphasis mine]This warning of judgement clearly describes homosexuality. The scariest part of it is the last verse that talks about giving approval to those who practice them. Note that this Scripture says that these things ARE God’s judgement, indicating that America is currently under God’s judgement because we as a nation has removed Him from the foundation of our country and lives. The Supreme Court began removing God from American life in the 1960s and the practice has continued since then. Now we are being judged as a nation, which means that if America does not repent and bring God back as the foundation for our nation, laws, values and morality, it’s just a matter of time until His judgement turns to our destruction as it did in Sodom, Gomorrah and Rome.
“Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.” [v. 24-25] [Emphasis mine]
“For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.” [v.26-27] [Emphasis mine]
“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.” [v.28-32] [Emphasis mine]
