Not Enough good "Needle Stickers" at the Local VA System.

Hello Friends,
I may have mentioned that I kept putting off going to the local VA Hospital late Friday afternoon right before the 'shift change.'  I was having trouble with severe panic attacks' high anxiety and trouble breathing.   I just HATE going into the ER --emergency Room!
So the doctors and staff there did succeeded in helping me and finding some of the problem, pinning things down.  It seems rather complicated to me since there are a number of things wrong.   After EKG, X-rays and blood work, we found out that that there was a low Oxygen count in my blood, and so they prescribed extra Oxygen tanks and apparatus for me in emergencies, etc., when traveling, etc.   I don't intend to spill 'ALL THE BEANS' about my personal, private, business, but I thought that sharing some of it might help others in the process.  I also got a change in Medication.

New game plan is to cut my intake of food even MORE, even as I get dizzy.   And to get the 'right stuff' I plan to take more vitamins and herbs to stay 'healthy.'  I been more tired lately and out of energy, but getting more sun rays that make me feel better and certainly look better, IMHO.  [in my humble opinion].  And as I have mentioned before, a wimpy male [R.N.] in the ER named Brian flunked the Phlebotomist [someone who threads the vein to draw blood]  test in trying to find my Right arm veins to spear... and after 5 attempts at missing the mark I fired him-- a very talented female R.N. did the job on the first try and so I complemented her a few times !!   So my right arm looks black and blue from the male bum allowing the blood to sneak under the skin, looking butchered.  Either way, staff like that give the whole science a bad name, who are either poorly trained or just lazy... and I say let them practice on themselves before they torture other innocent folks...LOL !  Give me an old, homely, fat R.N. any day compare to a new, too young, fumble butt, pretty girl, needle sticker with no prior experience.
I know that I must sound like a  hyper complainer but I refuse to be somebody's 'Guinee pig' all the time!   So, at least, I felt like we finally got something accomplished, and my wife was there too, to see and hear things at a VA 'hospital' as they really are.  I just needed a neutral opinion as it actually happened, so folks know that I was just not making things up.  And while I was glad to get emergency help on a Friday night--- it just proved once again how backwards the VA system is, especially in the 'boondocks' of the UPPER PENINSULA of Michigan.   It all boiled down to money, or lack of it, to attract GOOD VA doctors and staff.  From what I hear, criminals and illegal aliens get better hire help than America's hero [Military Veterans].  Sorry to sound so cranky today on Sunday, June 9th, 2019.   And now you all know why many Veterans dislike using the local VA Medical facilities, unless they are really poor and hard up...LOL.  And as we grow older --- it seems like most everything in/ on our old bodies goes to hell... Ha!   Many of us just pray for the tender mercies of heaven.

However,  women have even smaller veins and arteries!  So let the 'fun' begin.

Warm Regards,
Tom Schuckman

  3. to place a needle inside an artery is NOT an easy task! Arteries are in general quite deep inside the tissues. Even well trained Doctors, Nurses and Laboratory personnel can have a hard time finding the arteries. You mentioned an insulin type syri...
