Hello Friends,
Sunday, 7-14-19, a great sunny day where I live in the great North Central area of the USA. But on the Fox News, last night I saw a large section of NYC, or Manhattan Island lose the electrical power for many hours in the intensive heat of Summer. Let me tell you that when I was young I listened to and remembered what 'old folks' especially in my father's side of the family... how they managed to survive in the "Old Days" in the late 1800's and early 1900's in Kansas, USA. And how the Amish in PA, WI, etc., seem to live well without electricity with their simple and biblical beliefs, but they had great mechanical minds ! I believe that most of that old hand knowledge has been lost.
Just think of the short term absence of power last night and all those thousands of people trapped in their high rise apartments and perhaps the water pressure might be compromised also. Stink ! And then there is the 'animal/morally depraved human element' of taking advantage of the situation in the DARK. OK, that's bad enough, but if we ever got hit by an EMP device and the lights are out forever... Wow! I think that 90% of the USA would be S.O.L. Well, if that ever happens, I pray that the Rapture will have already come and gone. Actually, a similar event shut off all the power at my small town a month ago! On one hand we can't be too prepared, but still we all need "balance" in life. The KJV Bible shows me how to be balanced -- but sometimes I am a 'slow learner.' PTL, the Lord blessed me so that at least I entered retirement landing on my feet. Smile.... still I have many old battle scars.
My main point today is: I doubt that even those of us who are rich can prepare for everything. And, ponder: Is a super long life our main goal in our 'journey' to eventually meeting the Lord? Some of us call ourselves Christians yet never even cracked the Bible, but have every other convenience in life. Our ancestors were hardy, more powerful, less encumbered with fast food and drugs... LOL. This all makes us curious about how and why we spend our money and how we vote.
I hope you have a great rested day!
Warm Regards,
Thomas G Schuckman
